my comment on the 9090
If you dont already have a XDA II, it is worth it i think
if you do own a xda2 its a wast of money
if you really want wifi, buy a sd wifi card, aint that expensive and when u browse the inet with it you dont need the 1 gig sd card or so you just replaced..
windows 2003se is comming for xda2 so horizontal browsing is possible soon
the keyboard is nice, you can also buy a bluetooth one or a click on unit
I agree. it is totally useless if u own xda2,qtek2020 or mda2.
I find such onboard keyboards very annoying and it only makes the pda thicker and heavier. BT keyboard from Stowaway is now available in the Netherlands for around 119 - 139 EUR. Temporarily out of stock though
Does the new 9090 support BT profile for listening to audio and not only makeing phone calls? I want to listen to mp3s on my BT headset....

Whats your information on this? Most people understand that SE is NOT coming to the xda 2.

So here are the chip numbers / names.

Maybe this helps....
Stefan
Thanks stefan thats a great help
All i need to know now is.......... shall i swap over the SDRAM & FLASH chips?
Or just the flash chips ? the XDA's are both PW10A1's so there the same inside.
Dont bother swapping ram!
Im impressed at your soldering skillz if you can successfully swap ANY surface mount chips inside the XDA.
Is this XDA 1 or 2?
If its the XDA2 all the important information is inside the Flash inside the processor, so you would have to swap that too.
xda 1
I have no choice. unless i can soure a new board

Not enough information to tell from your post. Answer is not likely to work as the typical microdrive is the size of a CF card. MD in Athena is smaller and has a special connector, not the stnadard CF type.
i think he means the microdrive and a 6GB microsd with micro to mini adapter. will it all work. answer i believe is yes as it works on hermes, kaiser. windows mobile and our 624MHZ processor will handle it. ultimate confirmation will be when me and ltxda order our 6gb microsds in the near future. ultimately ltxda will prob tell us first if it works or not.
thanks , sorry yes i wanted to mean microsd

Hi,
I have just bought a small hard dirve and was wondering how i could connect it to the xda II.
if you can find a sdio card which alow it
or if you use old wm2003 and got the backpack
and can find an cf card which alow it
then it can be don but in general i doubt it
himalya dont use a hd internaly at all
and 2.5" hd's use much more power then most pda's can provide without
external power
hard drive

Nobody does!
What part of: the device doesn't have an HDD don't you understand?
Thread closed
you 99% surely cant solder a hd into it
the ram storage inside your himalya is flash and sdram which
are small chips a harddisk is much bigger and use much
more power and require a controller to opperate
ok all you engineers .... hermes ... with 64 gb usb flash cards around now, HOW hard would it be to modify one OR the hermes ... to take the new RAM.
obvioulsy the casing is too smale, but could the hardware side of it be done?
