hey guys, i´m new with my i-mate jasjam that i picked up with telstra and i have some questions that probably will sound very stupid, but i wonder if anyone can enlighten me
1) i hate the telstra screen when i turn on the phone, i hate the telstra menus, i hate every single little trace of telstra in my phone. the hard reset wont remove these i figure. is there anyway all this can be removed by upgrading the windows mobile version (i use wm 5 os 5.1.195). maybe install windows mobile 6. the thing is, i want my mobile clean, fresh start, no telstra stuff on it. is it possible? im not in australia anymore (im in back home in brazil) and its getting on my nerves these pre installed telstra crap!
2) tried to download skype for my jasjam and it doesnt install (maybe is some telstra lock or something? is this the CID lock?
thanks guys. remember, im a newbie!

If you don't use Cleartype, no problem.
But if you use Cleartype, don't even dare consider flashing to Orange ROM.
The Cleartype implementation is unusable, and the reason why I flashed back after best part of ten minutes trying to ignore it...
thanks for the reply, could you give me a starting point, i'm new to all of this, been doing some reading. Did you just get the orange rom then use xdatools to flash it ? also been reading that you can change the cab files in the extended rom, maybe you can stick this cleartype on, dont know what cleartype is never used it.. will check it out
CdR
ok.. done it.. very impressed.. got rid of all that O2 crap.. and I have done all the config for gprs and wap and mms.. kewlies wasnt that hard.. just taken a couple of hours to get my head round it. I have updated the rom to Orange.DK and just changed it to UK jobs a good'un
Thanks

Hi,
First post and I have to say I am over wellmend with all the information on this site. I have never found one that covered my 3125 so much. The reason for finding this site is becuase my 3125 at least once a week just locks up and I have to pull the battery to get it to turn off and reboot. I was thinking of just starting fresh again with the corrent ROM but in looking I found this site and I found there is a WM6 rom that I could play with and other things.
I have been searching and this is why I think I am over wellmend right now.
This is what I am thinking of downloading and trying.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374397
Just before I do this I want to make sure I have it correct that this will work with my 3125 and that I will work with ATT since they are my provider and I go the phone from them? Also do I pull out my SIM and Memory card when I install this?
I guess this might sound dumb because I do not think I would but would I have any problem with my phone getting locked with this update?
Thanks for any help on this. I keep up PC software but I do not with WM that much.
i have a t-mobile usa hd2. By accident i loaded official rom 1.66 which i realize now is for European phones. Now the phone will not turn on at all, no charge light, nothing. is there anything i can do or that's its done for?
Hey Sir,
If you do a search in the Forum you will find the answer to your question. To save you time you bricked your phone and there is nothing you can do. Many people will tell you to go and return it to T-mobile if its under warranty. Otherwise your SOL.
Luckych
....When you return it to T-Mobile, just say that it just wouldn't switch on. And don't mention anything about flashing the phone.

Loads of noobs will say "'Haha serves u right noob for not reading enought"
Im sorry.. i totally understand you, as soon as i recieved my HD2 i was so excited i wanted to start flashing straight away. I was desperate to change language, and following a stupid users advice on some forum, i upgraded my official rom, which now needs to be downgraded and blablabla..
This stupid guy made me lose a couple of hours with his bad comment. but you did something a bit more serious.. even fatal
With what i heard, you properly bricked it.
Return to Tmobile, and dont mention anything to them
Still struggling with an unlocked HD2 (ex 02) and using Virgin
I thought that I would put the 3.14 HTC ROM onto it and clean off the 02 version.
Will this remove the splash screen and also remove the 02 lock on the apn settings?
Completely new tro this and apologise if this is really silly
Only way to put 3.14 onto your phone is using goldcard. Any other way will give low ram and unstable phone.
Yes it will work fine.
Thanks for that info. Huge learning curve for these things.

Greetings to all from a noob... I bring you questions about my first smartphone - a Docomo NTT branded Fujitsu F12C (it can dive underwater!) running Android 2.3.4...
Now... it is full of Japanese language apps and generally the menus themselves are... I'll stop short of calling it "broken english" (because it's not that bad, but still slightly strange). Also, the keyboard input is cluttered with Japanese input keys and options.
I tried uninstalling a lot of the apps but half of them remain regardless.
So my question is - how do I clean up this phone? Is it called debranding? I've read about debranding and flashing ROMs a bit... but I concluded that I need to find this 'ROM' for my particular phone... something I've been unable to do... Is there anyway to simply install a generic Android OS onto it and start from there? I don't really care about voiding warranty (the phone is made in Japan which is a warranty in itself) but I do not want to risk destroying the phone at the same time (it cost too much).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I never heard of this phone until now. I googled it and was WOW by how awesome it looks and all the features. ANYWAYS, the only way I think you could possibly get rid of all the Japanese menus and stuff like that is to possibly try to do a factory reset to where it prompts you for the setup and select English as your language and re-enter all your google account information and such......GOOD LUCK bro as I also found that there is little information on rooting this sucker let alone having custom roms for it.

It is a really nice phone indeed. But I tried the factory reset... It only deletes any data I input beforehand...
I guess I just have to wait for it to become more popular?
hello, my friend, do you know how to do a hard reste on this phone, a forgot the patern lock and a c'ant use the phone
So, my dad dropped his phone, cracked the screen. Only way to repair it was to send it back to Japan. Instead of repairing it, they sent back a brand new phone. A locked new phone. Wouldn't give me the sim unlock code so had to send it back again. Finally came back still locked!
Does anyone know anywhere to get the unlock code? Just sad throwing away $700...
Only Docomo shop unlock this phone and do not give unlock code, if you want unlock you have to bring to Docomo shop.
