i need your advice on radio rom - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

Hi all,
i'm searching for the best (well, at the moment) radio to use in italy.
Usually i use 3 as operator and umts is the only choice.
Does anybody of you already tested out some rom which thinks it's better than others?
I tried the latest 1.5x but they seem to be not so stable.
Sometimes my hermes ask me for the pin as it lost the signal.
Some others it freezes.
Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance.
Acr

I could have sworn 3 used GSM and 3G networks, otherwise they would have very little coverage. Anyone else like to comment?
As for the Radio's, unless you find someone on the same network, with the same phone in the same area you wont know without trying them. Personally my first upgrade was to 1.50.00 then I moved to 1.54.07 which I am finding to be very good.

Problems with SX-56 rom, HELP !!!

hello.
i have the siemens SX-56 device and i did a rom burning of the special rom 1.2 from xda-developers.
the problem is that i have no reception.
something in the phone module got wrong.
i tried various bands, i tried different sims...but nothing.
i get zero reception and i cant make a call.
what to do?
have i been doing something wrong?
i tried to burn the 1.2 rom several times, but each time was the same.
PLEASE HELP
Thank you guys.
I also get no reception but I'm beginning to believe it's because I'm running Cingular and they run on th 850mhz band which the phone doesn't support
So I've now changed to the Special Addition ROM and the T-Mobile Radio Stack. When I go to the network selection within the phone tools, the only two that show are T-Mobile and AT&T. I'm running Cingular, but I was under the impression that I should be able to piggyback my coverage on T-Mobile coverage. For some reason, I still get no signal and when I try to tell it to connect to T-Mobile I get an error message.
bad upgrading!
Tried Flashing in T-Mobile ROM and the Radio Stack and it went through no problem. Still getting same issue. Could it just be the area I'm in, Syracuse NY that is.
Please help me too, i have the same problem...
does anyone here knows what to do?
Do NOT use the SX-56!!!!
I read alot of complaints about this ROM, its buggy!
You could try changing bands from the gsm bootloader menu.
Thank you for your reply,
i have already tried several bands from the bootloader.
is there a special way to change bands?
i chose the band i wanted, and right after that i did a SR.
is that right?
isnt there anyone here who could know whats going on? this is so bizzare.
Thank you

How to get 3G on an European Hero.

I heard its possible to flash the radio so it match the US and Canada frequencies to get 3G data instead of EDGE
Can someone Help me. I found a link to the Radio roms but no step by step flashing guide.
I have a european Hero Downgraded to version 2.73.405.5 on Baseband version 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18.
How can I make it work on 3G cause right now I can only acces EDGE. With ROGERS Canada
Thanks to all of you guys (& girls) because this is new to me and seriously, some of you are really talented.
seriously dude, that has been asked several times, is not possible and belongs not in this category.
OK man sorry about that was not there for the past years reading all the threads ever created... I did some search and wasnt able to find specific guide about that...
Forget about it and have a nice day.
i recently read that it is possible on some winmo phones to use the radio matching your network on a different phone. comes with the downside that reception goes down to (i would think) unusable level, because the hardware is not meant to work on these frequencies. it is more of a "side effect" that it works at all. i have not read of something like this happening at all for a hero.

HTC Hero && Vodafone whats the best Radio rom

Hey people,
I always had an HTC with windows mobile.. i always had non-provider limited/customized devices.
Always had problems with the normal radio's that i didnt get much signal, always under the 3bars.
So i always looked on this forum what should be the best radiorom for the device to get better signal.
Now i have an HTC Hero with android, never flashed, never done anything with android eighter.
Its now 8 days ago that i bought myself this hero and always am under the 3 bars signal. some times i dont even get signal.......
Is here someone with the same problem?
I have Vodafone NL, they always change the radio-rom to the best fit when the phone is branded, but the hero doesnt even have an branded vodafone NL Hero!
So please help me with chosing the rom and point me to the best direction of an how to flash radio rom
I've looked around and didnt realy get an answer on this, so thats why im asking.
Thanks in Advance!

I'm not using the same provider as you. But I find:
63.18.55.06_6.35.05.31 saved a lot of battery compared with others
63.18.55.06IU_6.35.08.22 seemed to have better signal
63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 the lastest one, seemed kept a good balance between signal and battery.
NOTICE: Signal bars do not mean everything, with 63.18.55.06IU_6.35.08.22, if I've got only one bar, that means I can hardly make a call, but 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 will give me better performance even with only one bar.
That's all I've got. And am talking about gsm Network, not 3G.
Legend....
This topic is old... bu tmy post is a little off topic... so....
I have the same question regarding the legend.
I bought a stock standard HTC Legend, but Vodafone has bad reception, even no signal.
Tried 2 SIM cards from Vodafone, and one Telfort, the Telfort/KPN Sim card works fine.
So, i am also wondering if there is a special Radio ROM to use with the legend.

[Q] Best modem ROM for AT&T USA?

When I first got the SG2, the data signal dropped pretty much every time I tried to use it (XWKE2). I upgraded my ROM to (XXKE4) and it seemed to make things much better. I just upgraded to (XXKF2) and it seems to be bad again, but not as bad as the original ROM.
I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, and if there is a preferred modem ROM for USA AT&T. I'm also in New York City, so this may also be part of the problem.

No signal - T-mobile/solavei

I have a T-mobile HTC pouch pro 2, and I've been testing NAND ROMS, which I LOVE, but I don't get any signal at all. My bars show an X. even after I put in the SIM. Is there any way to fix this? My WIFI and everything else works, but I just don't get any mobile network.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Does it work in WM? Does it work with SD based roms? What Android roms have you tried? Are you using a T-mobile device on the T-mobile network with a T-mobile sim card?
Please give us as much specific info as possible.

It does not work on WM or SD android ROMs. I am using a T-MOBILE device with Solavei (Which uses T-MOBILE towers) And a solavei SIM. But it SHOULD have bars even without a SIM. It doesn't recognize ANY network, no matter which SIM I put in it. I've tried AT&T and Solavei and T-MOBILE. I have flashed many different ROMs, HSPL and everything. I've tried reverting it back to WM and it still won't connect. I've tried every RADIO that was available for me to flash. It's like the signal in turned off in my phone.
Would it be a problem with the RADIO software? Or the Antenna?
If WM is not working right then Android will most definatly not work right. You would probably be better off posting in the WM forums for support as that is what the device shipped with. Even that is a long shot. These sub forums are mostly for Android dev and related issues. If the phone is not working with WM on it, then you need to take the phone to a repair shop. Odds are something is very broken, and they will have a better chance of sorting it out with the phone physical present. Other than suggesting that you reload the rom with the stock software, there is not much else I can suggest here.
Indeed. Get the phone working in WinMo first, then try Android. Thanks!
