I am looking for the latest Rom update For my Qtec 2020.
I Currently have 1.66 WWE
I need 1.72 WWE
Etended Rom 1.72.800 (i think)
And radio version 1.17 or later.
Can someone help me to upgrade my Hymalaya ?
Where Can I get these Files ?

The provider specific bits are in the ExtRom.
So in fact you can use any 1.72.00 upgrade file and delete the ms_.nbf file before proceding.
Afterwards you can fill your Extended Rom with the applications you want using the Extended Rom Unlock tools.
BTW: This is always a better solution because using a 'wrong' ExtRom could get you into CountryID trouble with the next upgrade.
There are numerous posts with 1.72.00 rom upgrades in it, but I :lol: would recomend my RUU172902WWE upgrade. It is documented what the files in the ExtRom all do, so its simple to skip the operator specific ones.

I have upgraded with http://www.qtek.nu/files/RUU172752WWE.zip and it works fine. However do not forget to first backup and then Hard reset the device before upgrading

Surprising, because it is a known fact that it is impossible to upgrade the Hurricane to WM2005. I would not suggest go for that unless you know exactly what you're doing.

Can confirm that the ROM above does NOT work on the HTC hurricane, its the OS section from a Dopod 577 ROM aka HTC Tornado.
It gets to 72% and then it comes up with a memory adress exception and fails.
I've managed to resurrect my device tho as the bootloader wasn't corrupt and I was able to flash the Qtek 8200 ROM

Great your phone did not become a brick!
Could someone indicate me any working rom for my Hurricane (SPV C550.) I badly want to flash it, because it freezes too often while placing a call.

Hi Dibi, this is surprising; looks like WM5 was made possible for the Hurricane. How can this be..?
Well, the site is in chinese, and the ROM appears to be in chinese as well. If you understand chinese, can you see if there is one ROM in English?

I can CONFIRM that the rom on that website IS WM5 for the HTC HURRICANE! All you need to do is flash the SPL nbf posted on the website (will upload to rapidshare later together with instructions) and then flash the .BIN file in the same way as the WM5 for typhoon
Its obviously been ripped from a leaked WM5 typhoon rom, all the graphics/icons/bars etc are scaled for 176x220 pixels not QVGA.
i wonder if a dumped OS section of an imate SPL rom would work, if anybody has an SPL rom then please share!

I tested this WM5 rom.
My experience:
-yes, not support qvga
-joy don't work (instead the 4 function button; Calender etc. but not OK!)
-this SPL (spl566forwm5_zymlk_2007.1.30.nb) work with wm2003se!
My instructions:
-First i converted the spl566forwm5_zymlk_2007.1.30.nb to spl566forwm5_zymlk_2007.1.30.nbf (you must install ActivePerl)
Command:
typhoonnbfdecode.pl -r spl=spl566forwm5_zymlk_2007.1.30.nb -c nk.nbf
then i flashed this nk.nbf with Patched_RUU.exe.
-Bootloader mode Camera button, then Power button.
-mtty.exe, Cmd>l c:\wm5for566test_zymlk_2007.1.30.bin

Hi, i have 2 t-mobile Ameo's and one was upgraded to WM6, but i want to downgrade it back to WM5 (please no questions why), is it possible to backup the rom on my WM5 Ameo and flash it to the WM6 ameo? (the WM6 maeo is cid unlocked)

Dear All. I upgraded my t-mobile ameo now I want to go back to original state of t-mobile ameo uk Rom. I can't find origional shipped t-mobile UK ROM. can any of my friends here give any help in getting this ROM. Alo I do have copied origional extended Rom of t-mobile but I am unable to load it onto ameo Ext. Rom2 directory. I am only so far been able to view it and copy contents to another drive but so far unable to write or load contents on extended rom on my Ameo. I would be very greatful to those who can be of any help. Best regards.

If you goto t-mobile's UK software download site, you will find they offer the WM6 upgrade as well as the wm5 original ship rom in it's latest version

I had a UK Orange SPV M3100 which I SIM unlocked and also upgraded to WM6 Black Satin... this was a great phone and worked very well for me. I now have a Kaiser and gave my upgraded M3100 to my brother. However, his IT department at work won't allow him to put the latest version of Activesync on his PC (God knows why, but there you go...). WM6 requires this updated version of Activesync.
So, my question is this:
What is the best WM5 ROM out there?
I assume as I have CID and SIM unlocked the phone, these will not need to be done again. Also, am I right in thinking that he may be limited to a 2GB micro SD card with WM5?

i downgraded my ATT 8525 back to WM5 after realizing WM6 was just too sluggish on the phone. So i just went back to the original shipped version of att/cingular wm5 listed on xda-dev wiki here:

you can find your orange wm5 rom there, just look for the latest version...hope that helps
Thanks for the reply... I am wondering if the Official Orange ROM (linked to on the page you referenced) will install OK, given that I have Hard SPL on my M3100? Will I need a specially re-wrapped version of the Orange ROM to install correctly on my SPV M3100?
