tempted: should i try to upgrade again? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

i completely ruined my first hermes, luckily it was under warranty. i have a question:
should i upgrade wm5 to wm6 and keep the radio version as is?
would upgrading using ie: schaps build make the current radio (working 1.40.30.00 on wm5) not work on wm6?
oh, and i have a new hermes.. heehee

Of course if you like,
Hard-SPL is necessary.

Thanks for the tip. I'll get to reading some more. Appreciate it.
I did one recently using the most recent AT&T WM5 version. Using SSPL to downgrade, I was also able to change IPL/SPL back to stock versions.
Total Downgrade from WM6 to WM5
Sleuth255,
Just wanted to ensure I understood your process in downgrading from a WM6 rom to a WM5 rom.
Scenario: I am currently using Custel's 2.5(WM6) with radio 1.40, IPL 1.04 SSPL 2.10 Olipro.........
I wish to down grade to the "Stock" Cingular 1.34, with the stock radio 1.3xx
If my thinking is correct, I should be able to run SSPL 1.10 (Olipro) and then flash the WWE ship.exe for the 1.34 which will put the stock IPL/SSPL on the device.........
Am I out in left field with a football uniform on, or is the goal line reachable?????
Thanks,
vpu2....OUT!!!!
follow mrvanx's guide. It shows how to do everything. I went from the 1.41 radio, the 2.1oli spl, and dutty's rom back to a 100% stock phone that was capable of being flashed by the file that you can get from HTC's website... i did all of this using Mrvanx's guide (and the search function)... this link may help a little as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301219&highlight=downgrade+the+SPL

radio stack upgrading

Hello everybody!
Could someone tell me if it's possible (and how to do it) to upgrade only the radio part? And where do i get the 1.47 (the last one?)? Now I have an Advantage X7500 wm5 1.25 with radio 1.38.
Thank you for your time!

I went to a combination of the 2.20 rom for x7500 plus radio stack 1.47 out of the x7501 by performing the follwing steps
1- Run OliPRO unlocker (all 3 steps!)
2- Flash to WM5 (you get radio 1.38)
3- Flash to WM6 x7501 (you get radio 1.47)
4- Flash to WM6 x7500 (radio 1.47 stays put)
Thank you!
I'll try your method.
Olipro or others, Possible to do separate installers for the Radio ROMs? I know they did this with the Wizard so that people could choose their radio independent of the ROM.

WM6 upgrade process question

hi, i'm fairly new to upgrading and i have a question
if i wanted my wm5 hermes (8525) to run Schap's WM6 Pro 4.00 ROM, would i need to upgrade from
wm5 > wm6 > schap's?
i'm talking about the one shown in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=342168
also, if i upgrade the wm5 to the att wm6 rom (with the 1.54.07.00 radio)
would i lose the radio version as i make the transition to schap's?
thanks
sorry to push it even further, but once i flash hardspl, will i be able to change my radio version simply by using the ruuwrapper?
or are there procedures that i must follow in order to go from a lower radio version to a higher radio version and vice versa?
what about with WM6 roms?
sorry and thanks for your time
You can go directly to Schaps - no need for interim "official" wm6. You can also always flash a radio only using Custom_RUU from Olipro. Most radio-only packages in the forums are bundled with it.
Check out THIS LINK for the best giudes to upgrading around.

Upgrade Radio ROM to 1.47.30.10

I am currently running WM5 (for details and radio - see signature) on my Tmobile Vario II and have HardSPL'd it. After reading a lot of posts wiki and reference forums (mentioned below) on power tests, suggesting this radio to be fairing the best, i have closed on to upgrade this version.
However, i could see that all the people upgrading did have WM6. The question is that is it OK to do a radio only upgrade to 1.47.30.10 with WM5 running.
Has any one had issues with 1.47.30.10 on WM5?

Yes its fine, flash away.....be carefull though remember the radio flash is the most risky. Make sure your not using a USB hub or have ANY chance of interrupting th process.
Thanks mrvanx.
If i flash Schaps WM6Pro Hermes 4.31 WWE Full, will it do/ask for the radio upgrade also? If yes to which version? If no then how stable is my current Radio i.e.
Radio Version: 1.16.00.00
Protocol Version: 32.53.7018.01H
with respect to 1.47.30.10. Is it worth upgrading considering the risk you have mentioned?

Downgrading with bootloader 1.06

Hi there, i'm asking myself if it is possible to downgrade my XDAII (BL 1.06) from WM2003SE/WM06 to WM2003 1.72 . May be someone knows? Thanks to you all
Yes, it can be done, I have done this once with my own Hima. You can also upgrade/downgrade the Radio ROM. Just make sure the Windows ROM and Radio ROM match. For WM 2003 1.72 you need Radio ROM 1.17.
