Too many ROM's
Hi All,
I'm in Oz and when I tired to download the latest version of the WM6 for Atom Life the only file listed was this:
Xda_Atom_Life_WM6_WWE_RC2140907B2.exe (Flash.dio dated 15th May 07)
Reading through the XDA forums I managed to fine this one:
Xda_Atom_Life_WM6_WWE_RC2150507B1.exe (Flash.dio dated 19th Sept 07)
and now there was a new posting in XDA for this one:
Xda_Atom_Life_WM6_WWE_RC2170507B2.exe (Flash.dio Dated 17th May 07)
Can anyone shed some more information on the progress on these ROM's
I'm in the process of stripping a ROM to the bear bones for speed and somewhere to start for developers, but there is no point if I don't have the latest ROM to start with.

EDIT: Dates of dump files updated. If you go by the Flash.DIO file date, the ROM C2150507B1 is the latest. More Odd stuff...

That is not the latest one. The latest one is still RC2140907B2

I'm not sure about this, but my Xda_Atom_Life_WM6_WWE_RC2140907B2 has FLASH.DIO dated 14 September 2007. The name of the file actually state the date of the FLASH.DIO
Anyway, here's the history of the release
Xda_Atom_Life_WM6_WWE_RC2150507B1.exe
- First release
- All O2 and bonus applications come preinstalled
- O2 Connect has bugs
Xda_Atom_Life_WM6_WWE_RC2170507B2.exe
- Second release
- All O2 and bonus applications are not preinstalled
- Windows Live has bugs. Auto dial even WiFi is connected
- O2 Connect has bugs
Xda_Atom_Life_WM6_WWE_RC2140907B2.exe
- Third release
- All O2 and bonus applications are not preinstalled except O2 Connect
- Windows Live bugs fixed but auto dial if "Send/Receive" is used in Messaging for Windows Live account.

As I understand it will only be available Nov 04.
On sourceO2 it says that you can download the latest O2 ROM. Now, I know this link isn't up and running yet, but it does give some interesting info.
The bit I'm interested in is the new applications that come with a new XDA2. It says on here you can download them, but then asks for a username/password.
Anyone have a SourceO2 account and could pull these off for us?

Extract the 1.72.187 ROM image
I was wondering has anyone try to extract the ms_.nbf in the 1.72.187 update from sourceO2 website? I have tried to extract it with xda2nbftool and er2003edit (password: 0x20040305) but failed. If anyone got it, please let me know how to do it. Thank you for all suggestions and advices.
Where did you get the 1.72.197 update from? SourceO2 are still linking to the 1.60.50 update at my-xda.com.
Sorry for the confusion. I don't have the 1.72.187 ROM. I messed up by my own "folder system" . The one that I thought it is the 1.72.187, well actually, is some kind of customization ROM and I named it as 1.72.187. Sorry for all confusions I have created!

What won't install? Where does your quoted "the ROM is updated" message come from?
The three new apps won't install.
The installer runs on the PC,
then on the XDA there is the same error each time.
Setup Error - Unable to install application, Please update your device ROM to the required version before trying again.
I've upgraded to v172187,
restored by backup,
synchronised
and everything works fine.
Except this.
It could be that the restore overwrote the ROM version in the registry. Check your device information to see what version it reports. If it is incorrect, change it by amending the registry value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\3rdversion\MSYSTEM to the correct value then try the installs again.

This software does not have Blackberry software built in. The 1.72.181 software upgrade, which will be available from the 1st of November will feature Blackberry.
This software is for Xda II purchased from O2 in the UK and Ireland. German O2 customers should visit www.o2xda.de, and Asia O2 customers should visit www.myxda.com, for ROM upgrades for those countries.

If you noticed tha last post here was in 2004. Since then the wizards here in xda-developers have cooked up WM 5 and WM 6 ROMS which are far superior to the original 2003. Just Choose which you want to install in your XDA. There are threads for both. Just read carefully instructions in installing AND how to get more memory.

Where did you hear this? I'd be VERY surprised if it was Magneto that all we 2i owners are waiting for. Delightfully so, but still shocked to within an inch of my life!!

Well, this looks like good news. Just (10 minutes ago) got my TYTN back from HTC repair centre in Milton Keynes. New motherboard has been fitted and the ROM version is 2.11.255.1 . So, it looks like a new update is about to be released, but maybe it won't be WM6!
We just got a new ROM for TYTN here in Norway as well. Haven't tested it as my mobile is away for repair.

Yet their Tech Support group still has no idea about any plans for AKU3.3.1 being released! Sad!
My guess is that we'll see 2.11.255.1 (AKU 3.3.1) being released on the HTC web site sometime soon (end Apr to mid May) with WM6 in July-Aug timeframe (despite what their "leaked" letter states).

Hello John,
The information that I got from Leaf prior to the release of AKU 3.3.1 was that WM6 would be released sometime from the end of May/June. They were pretty reliable with their information in the past, so we can just hope that this is not too far off the mark.
BTW. I have still not managed to get a warranty response from HTC Europe. What a bunch of wankers they are!

well, HTC Sweden (smartmobile) has released this version "2.11.263.1" in swedish and 2.11.255.1 in english.

Got a newsletter today from smartphone.be with a new rom release from HTC.
I downloaded it and installed on my tytn. Works fine till now! I Didn't noticed any changes (its WM5 btw).
