Softbank 2MP Camera Part
I am looking for a camera replacement part for my Softbank. I was the part that caused my Softbank to display totally WHITE SCREEN.
Here is the story:
Last five months I accidentally dropped my Hermes on the floor carpet and when I turned it on, it displayed all WHITE SCREEN. I tot the LCD screen was the culprit and bought some LCD for replacement from eBay. I dismantled everything and tried to replace the LCD but it resulted the same WHITE SCREEN. Then I dismantled the Jog Dial and the Camera and reattached part by part. The jog dial caused no problem but the Camera showed positive result on WHITE SCREEN behavior. Now I dismantled the Camera and my SOftbank X01HT works like a charm... Well almost like a charm with no 2MP Camera... LOL...
So I am looking for the part also to put it back on my TyTn...

Dopod 838 Pro replacement LCD.

Need help!!!
Smashed my LCD and orded a replacement from HK. The part number they sent me was 60H00037-00M. After installing it, all I get is a white screen. Sent it back and recieved another one with the same number and again the same deal!!!
The part number Im chasing is 60H00056-00m or TX0704APAA1. I think it is a mfg by Hitachi.
I cant find anything with this part number on the net and was wondering if anyone knows if there is an equivalent that could be used insted.
Mal..
Are you sure that your connections are secure and lined up properly? I replaced the screen on my 8525 and the ribbon cable was not connected properly the first go round. It is the one with the tiny screws.

I am looking for a TX0704APAA1 for my HTC Tytn.
Apparantly this is the Hitachi model other models are also available on ebay (Samsung and Toppoly). As I understand Samsung and Toppoly are not compatible with one another apparently they use different controllers.
As for the Hitachi I have know idea whether it is compatible with Samsung or Toppoly, which is why I am on my quest after the Hitachi...
Anyone know where I can get one?
I think this one might work.

Useing a dummy phone for replacement case/parts?

Anyone have any experience with this? I was thinking about trying it because the replacement housings for the HTC Wizard are crazy pricey IMO. heres a link
http://www.dummyphones.com/product_p/mda-tmobile.htm
I mainly need a new volume spring thing and the outer housing. Will this work? The site says no but i have a feeling they're dirty lairs.
Waiting for your impute peoplez!
capn out!
I recently bought a dummy 8125 with hopes of using its case as a replacement for mine. When I take the dummy phone apart, I will let you know if the volume key is a real functional key. My belief is it must be, but who knows. I only paid $6.00 US dollars so not big loss if I am wrong.
Jeff
awsome to hear that Jeff, ill be watchin this thread. Let me know if the case works too please.
Well I have good news and bad news. Here is what I did. I took my recently acquired HTC P4300 dummy phone (identical layout in every way to a 8125) and completely dismantled it. Of course there was no screen, motherboard, or working keyboard. What there was:
Complete outer housing
Complete inner housing & keyboard assembly
Buttons: Power, voice record, camera, all front keys (ie/inbox, talk/end, navigation, two softkeys)
The com manager/volume slider buttons are attached to the keyboard, they are functional keys. But you can not use the keyboard assembly as the keyboard is fake. You could pry them out and put them in your old keyboard assembly.
I disassembled both the dummy phone and my 8125. Swapped everything except the keyboard. The dummy phone camera cover does not have an antenna. So you carefully peel up the antenna and glue it down to the new dummy camera cover. The other modification is you peel up the keyboard keys and put them on the 8125 keyboard. (hard to explain) They keys are one big skin glued down.
Here are some pictures. ( I apparently can't hold the camera still)

Heys guys, i was recently asking myself the same question. I posted it on Xperia subroum, but really no good answer came up. So i'm gonna ask here.
Would be possible to disassemble this dummy phone: http://cnn.cn/shop/sonyericsson-xperia-dummy-phone-p-6107.html
I would like the use the battery cover, front buttons and "maybe" faceplate.
Thanks in advance.
Nah, I have dismantled some of the dummies in order to obtain parts.
They really are different, almost nothing can be reused

T-mobile Touch Pro 2 - HTC Conversion

You knew it was coming. I'm looking to buy a Touch Pro 2 on T-mobile usa contract. However, I'm not a huge fan of what T-mobile has done to the phone. Can anyone here confirm whether the housing differences are cosmetic or not?
I'm fairly certain that the innards are the same across the board, but the T-mobile version doesn't have the same rounded edges that the htc version does. The corners are more pronounced for t-mobile. I'd hate to spend 50-80 bucks on a housing and have it not fit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a T-mobile G1 now, and I'm looking to get back to WM. Android just isn't as 'open source' as I had originally imagined.
I think it's possible. All the buttons are in the right place and it seems silly to change the innards of the phone.
The only problem is that with the HTC version, you'll have an empty hole for the forward facing camera.
I'm not sure if the glass cover is the same size, it appears bigger on the TMO version than the HTC version, just my opinion.
I like my Tmo TP2, but I wish it wasn't brown. It's actually a pretty attractive package, I thought brown would be super fuglie, but I would much rather have the stock HTC black and silver... or something else, all black perhaps.
Now that I took a closer look at the original HTC version, it's come to my attention that there isn't a soft reset button on the side of the phone. Only the hole for the secondary microphone used for the speaker phone.
It could be hidden under the battery case because the HTC battery case covers the sides of the phone whereas the T-Mobile verson only covers the back. It sort of makes sense because the T-Mobile version gives easy access to the SD slot so I don't see why they wouldn't do the same for a soft reset button.
This is all merely speculation. If somebody could confirm that there IS a soft reset button on the HTC version hidden beneath the battery cover, I'd consider taking the hit and buying a replacement HTC case for a swap.
Hi, just to confirm there is a soft reset button hidden under the battery cover (unbranded HTC). It's about 1cm below the mic hole and slightly to the left if that helps.

It helps greatly. This goes to show that the internals on the T-Mobile version are exactly the same as the unbranded HTC version. Doing a case swap should, theoretically, fit just fine.
Now to find a sub $50 replacement case lol.
nevermind. didn't read right
Sdcard slot is on the side for T-Mo, I read that Unlocked or OEM TP2 have it behind the battery.
SD card slot on OEM TP2 is behind the battery cover but it appears to be in the same spot as the TMO version. The chassis of the OEM vs TMO version looks slightly different, hopefully not too different.
At any rate, you would have to buy the full housing for the OEM AND the digitizer screen to convert a TMO TP2, in my opinion because the two screens are different sizes.
Anyone tried this yet
I'm wondering the same thing too, I have found many housing, even the original silver one but it seems like it needs a new screen (since the HTC one has a bigger screen plate than the Tmobile it appears)
+ the back where the speaker is for the tmobile is part of the inner phone built, which might interfere with the full silver plating of the HTC original. So from pure speculation of the build, I believe it will not work...
But I have msged several members on this issue and awaiting their reply to see if they have tried it and succeeded

No they're not. Both phones have 3.7" screens. The only difference is the housing and the keyboard. The TMOUS version has the ALT key first, then the CTRL key whereas the unbranded HTC version has the CTRL key first, then the ALT key.
All the other buttons are in the exact same position. Like I said before, I'd love to be the guinea pig, but not for $80.
The T-Mobile version has tapered edges ( corners ) compared to the OEM version. Not sure if this would pose a problem or not. Might just be cosmetic.

It is not the same
Htc can call it the Rhodium or whatever, When the maual was leaked codename TUNGSTEN.
There are not the same, you can not change it to look like the other Touch Pro 2.
This device will be outdated in less than 6 months.
Devices getting ready for Winows 7.
Not that serious.
might be outdated in six months, but I doubt there will be a 2100/1700 device available with Windows 7 anytime soon.
Also, the manual might be codenamed TUNGSTEN, but when I had put it in bootloader before loading HSPL, it said "RHOD210" in bootloader with no reference to TUNGSTEN.
I just might try this. I know a guy who is pretty good with phone mods, but I will have to replace the faceplate as well. As in kable's link showing the generic TP2 and T-mobile version side-by-side the faceplates are different sizes. So it's going to be about a $120 mod plus labor.
G1 now getting WM update check it out
I see this thread is a bit dated, but has anyone actaully attempted this conversion yet? I see the housings for sale on CNN.cn and ebay, but doesn't look like it would be an exact fit with the T-mobile version considering the more rounded edges on the front rim of HTC housings.
Just wondering if anyone has actually gone through with it, and could fill me in on all that is necessary.

if you ever change yours out, i would definately, jump on your old case. i love the bronze colour. im not digging the AT&T scheme. if you swap out the keyboard hit me up, that's what i really am wanting.
I want to switch it myself.I do not like how it looks and also ProClip does not have a car mount holder for the T-mob TP2.
The only reason I got it is the 3g.
Did somebody succeed in replacing the covers?
