Take out the battery.

Press and hold the power button.

hi,
you can not shutdown this kind of device except removing batery,
if you want to off phone
goto
Start-->Settings-->Connections-->Wireless Manager
you can see all wireless connections there..
chose Phone or what you want to off.. On/Off
you can on or off here all wireless connection include Phone..

@Duwenbasden ..... takin out the battery means crashing the system... even in a normal fones like nokia1100 its nt recommended
@dtsw2002 ....keepin the button pressed doesnt do anythin bro
@fuseki ....i kno how to turnoff wireless bro.... but it'll still eat battery.... there r times when i wud want to turn the damn fone off for a day.... or say i wanna change the sim... how the hell am i supposed to change the sim without crashing the system?
wat kinda dorky device can power up but not power down????? this is so dumb

sorry, mate. That's how Pocket PCs behave. I remember my first time when I rode the airplane, and my HTC Himalaya was my first PDA Phone. I was really embarrassed, because I didn't even know how to turn off the phone then.
Now, why was it that way, because pocket PCs started with non-persistent storage memory. which means, all data will be gone when you remove the battery or drain the battery (this is more dorky). It wasn't until windows mobile 5 came out that persistent storage was introduced, and up to now, a system shutdown is still not introduced.
For the atom: I'm surprised why you would crash the system, when in fact, the atom will reboot once you re-insert the battery. You just turn-off (hibernate) the device prior to battery removal.

thanks jiggs
so in a PPC, taking out the battery while in hybernatation is OFFICIAL !!! actually this is my 1st experience with PPC & things r so different
& as u say, since atom is WM5, i dont loose ANY data even if i keep the fone without battery for 2days or forever? this is so cool !!! so ppc is now as reliable as symbian

thanks to every1 who @least read this post... for yr intention to help appreciate

atom shut down
atom doesn't have hardware system to turn off the phone but htc wizard have the hardware system to turn off the phone so its so popullar in pocket pc catageory.

I think it might be dead

:?: i finally wanted to use my siemens sx56 after a year... Now it doesn't want to start all the way up... Lots of problems.. Battery light will not come on... No start bar on screen... Resets itself all the time... blinking backlight about every 15 seconds... etc... Please help me... I just want to use it again... it has wallaby bootloader 5.15... ppc 2002 3.14..
Have you tried a hard reset, that is using the unscrewed top half of the stlylus in the hole on bottom right of xda, leave for one minute then press again.
I recently picked up an SX-56 that was long unused. It took a few minutes on the power before the lights would come on. Plug it in and let it juice for a minute, and then a cold boot is definately in order. Also, make sure that the SIM door is fully closed.
thanks for reply guys... But i tried all of that stuff... sometimes it will bring up windows but there is no start button... also i can't even use a stylus because it's not tuned up.... also it won't let me connect to activesync... comp see's it but cannot connect...
i think u need a new one
Can you get to the bootloader?

Hey please Any can u help me out? my PPC is Dead

my xda ii became dead..i dont knw how..i had kept it in d drawer wen i pressed the power button ..the phone didnt turn on..i tried doing the soft reset then too no difference..then i removed the battery n kept iit for 1 hr..then too the phone didnt get on..then i tried puttin it on the bboootloader mode ..the phone didnt goto the bootloader mode..i guess it is completely dead ..please tell me Soon what do i do?any ideas?
please please m really tensed
have you try to charge it
put power on it maybe your ineternal batery is empty
put it with a power charge then press power buton leave 5 to 10 minutes later go check if the orange light is lit
try that
same thing happened to my old ipaq h5550. i left it for 4 days without battery and it just wouldn't turn on anymore. but try this cause this somehow work for me. remove your battery then plug it in while pressing the reset button almost the same time you plug in your battery. if that doesn't work just leave ur unit plug in to the charger for a time then repeat the same procedure.
goodluck.
Is your i-mate still dead??

I had exactly the same problem. In my case it was because the battery was loose........this sounds like your case as well because it restarts when you adjust the battery. just wedge a piece of paper into the bottom of the battery as well as between the battery and the back casing to hold it securely in place. hope this works for you
yeah, i hv tried that too....
but wt abt the incoming calls...?? the callers gear my fone ringing, wen its off.... weird.
anyways, thx bro

I'm having similar problems with my MDA II ... But I'm not sure if it's some kind of battery issue ... Don't know if it's worth of taking it to an authorized service, because it'll sure work when it'll be there and when I bring it home the same problems will occurr ...

htc qtek 1010, no life.. how to summon?

hi guys, i'm too happy this forum is still active even if wallaby is a very old product
my brother left this handheld in the car in summer... from that moment on t doesn't switch on..
so i'm trying to summon it and see if the problem is just the battery or something else.. i'm working with a tester and te wallaby disassembled and the battery shows 3.41V output so it doesn't seem gone at all..
but if i press the button of the wallaby, nothing happens....i tried to hard reset pushing the switchon button + reset button, but i don't think something has happened.. in one moment when i was trying to do it, the battery has become too hot so i removed it suddenly...
i'm out of ideas... anyone can tell me what could i do to see if it's just the battery or the entire phone has gone?
thanks
nobody? am i clear with the message?
Use a voltmeter for battery voltage checking
i already did it and the battery shows 3.41 V .. i don't know how to go further

It's ok, your problem is the device, but I can't help you (I also have one dead wallaby).
i should see if the current coming out from the device can fill the circuits in the right way.. not only the voltage...is this right? mmmh... i really want to summon it..
