I have got SPV c550, I've changed windows from Wm 2003 to Wm 6 few times, I've used 3 versions of ROM, and I had the same problem on all of them:
I Can't send anything by bluetooth or irda. I can receive data but I can't send it.
I've tried Total Commander and file explorer, but it's just showing an error.
Is there any ROM of Wm6 or even Wm5 that will fix this errors?

But too many do not have access to integrated software, that comparison wasted space.
Try using moBlue, it works for me.

Haven't tried BT with many phones - works with SE, HTC and Samsung.
Havent tried IR, but i suppose it works. Nobody had complaints.
MoBlue is software, not ROM.

I would like to add the fonix voicedial application to my XDA2. I noted on the "my-xda.com" website that this application is supposed to be on the companion CD that comes with a XDA2.
Not mine!, purchased just 2 weeks ago.
My CD version is V1.0 sept 2003
Can anybody tell me if there is a later release that has it on please.
Can't see anywhere on the O2 websites where to download it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Rayan, did you try installing to a bare configuration, ie before restore?
It is not the OS version that counts (although it probably would have to be 1.72.00WWE) , but the extrom version (1.72.181 / 1.72.187). but i don't know which registry entries are important for this validation.
Doing a restore after upgrade does overwrite the registry (like cruisin implied).
Can anyone post the individual cabs inside this application suite?
I can have a look to make it more "ExtROM version independent"
(ie that it will also work with my 1.72.902 ROM)

I am not able to install any of this software.... Please Edsub maybe you can do something...
I am more than happy to sort this out, BUT: I need to get hold of a correct Fonix cab file. The one in the posted app. suite is faulty and cannot be used.

The cab identifies as a ZIP cabinet, instead of a WinCE Cabinet.
Also WinCE Cab manager is not able to open it, just crashes. Same as with my copy of the Fonix cab.
The other two cabs are fine.
Just by looking at the TrueFax cab I bet the version checking is doen via a new setup.dll. This should be do-able. Plz have a little patience as I do have a real job to do too . . .

Yes I did. It runs, but haven't done much with it yet.
mmm, I guess we have to conclude that O2 (or Fonix) have found themselves a new method of installing software on the Himalaya . . .
@dcs: Do you remember whether the install ran as silent as other (normal) installs on the Himalaya? Did you see the zip-manager get used for installing (I ask this because the Fonix cab shows up like a zip-type of cab, instead of like a WinCE cab)

I have few installed programs but I think that the speed is very similar.
I do not understand very well as Magneto uses the memory, you have 14,57MB of ROM (storage) to install programs but you cannot install them in the RAM.
You can see 24,35MB of RAM but I believe that Magneto uses all the RAM, only who deal with form different those 24.35 from the 100 rest that we cannot see.
Resco file explorer cannot accede to Windows or temp but microsoft file explorer if it can.
Parrot CK3000 works fine.
About backpack: battery and TV/monitor output works but CF slot dont works.
Is it still using the MS bluetooth stack ? Any improvement on bluetooth function ?
Yes, it is MS BT, but now it appears a new menu, "COM Ports"
IMPORTANT: I have upgrade to Magneto using himaupgradeut_197.exe and the original nk.nbf file (without patching)
It has worked to the first time and I have not had any error of identification.
Also I have left the Storage empty before beginning the update.

It changes the filename of file "DevAuth.exe" in a way that it can't be executed anymore before start.
This application checks the hardware in some way to determine if the device is allowed to use the software. Maybe some of you have a device that matches this "authentication".

I have used the file nk.nbf from Xda-developers ftp.
I have returned to wm2003SE with himaupgradeut_197.exe and nk.nbf file of version 2.06.
ParrotCK3000 works just as with 2,06 version and the change of the registry.
Magneto is very interesting but it specially has a great failure, when you install many programs the system becomes slower, particularly with programs like betaplayer.
If the problem of the RAM use and the access to CF slot were solved, it would be a great system.
2.06 works with AS 4.
More news:
Magneto can be reinstall again using himaupgradeut_197.exe in bootloader mode.
If we installed the programs in the SD and left frees the memory of the PDA, the system goes much more fast.
Some programs cannot be installed in the SD and they settle in the PDA. Some programs that work in wm2003 and wm2003se not admit magneto, aborts the installation.
SPB pocket plus does not settle because it says that it is being tried to install on ppc2000 and aborts the process.
tomtom is the only thing stopping me for to go to magneto

I was also having the same trouble with the installer. Setup.exe kept on crashing. So I resorted to installing the program off the pda.
What you need to do is copy the following files to the pda:
wzd.cab
voice.cab
ttn.cab
gps.cab
Then run each one off the pda and the program should then be installed.
To install the maps just go through the setup to install it onto the storage card.
Oh and if you encounter the backlight problem whilst running Tomtom then you will need to press the "Red Disconnect Call Button" so it can be minimized, you will then need to go into the backlight settings and readjust them accordingly.

Explore Cd Tomtom 4.40 to go in the folder voice then to take the files voice04.cab and voice05.cab (are the English voices UK) Initially to put it to Program Files for example then to launch the cab since to this folder (Program Files) in your pocket PC

This procedure corrects the problem of backlight

During installation of files wzd.cab ttn.cab gps.cab
and for my part after to have installed the file voice 11 and Voice 12 .cab (women and men french voices) the backlight error disappeared
That was the good solution in my case
The backlight is automatically returned and work good after voice.cab installation
So I suppose that the 4 cab files describes above must be all present so that tomtom 4.40 run correctly
But it's not the same problem for everyone

it's hard working, but thanks to your tips TomTom 4.4 is beginning to work
on my XDAII.
I had to put the Benelux.CAB on the Storagecard. Only then it would install.
But I've ran into another problem, it says now "no maps found"
I suspect this have to do with the name and/or the place where you put
the directory with the maps. Can anyone who has a working TomTom 4.4
tell me the exact names of the directory, where the are and what files are in them?

Pressing the hangup button and then go to the power settings to chance the backlight, solves the problem for the time being.
But i prefer a solution that works ever time.

Tomtom5 crashes continuesly..
And when Tomtom is installed and I want to sync my device in my cradle, device.exe en gwes.exe will crash also and need to softreset before sync will work again.
I deinstalled all tomtom components, and sync'n will work flawlessly... but after unpacking the cab files and start Tomtom Navigator.exe I'll get the same problem again..
In which order did you install the cabfiles?
edit: Older maps seem to work with tomtom5; all you need to do is edit the apn file in the old map folder and change the last number (map version) to the version of the tomtom5 you've got.

Yes, tomtom 5.0 crashs sometimes. In my case, when i try to manage witch poi's categories to see in the map the sometimes it crash. I dont know if the problem is magneto or tomtom 5.0 but tomtom4.4 worked well. I hope tomtom releases a fix....

i've heard that you can copy tomtom 3 poi.dat from old map to the new one, and although you don't get the new pois stability problems go away.

Ok got mine working heres what i did!
I Copied data05.chk & engf.vif to My Device/My Documents/TomTom
All working fine now, I Had no luck with the ROM Version 1.50h.00WWE, TOMTOM Kept crashing, now using ROM Version 1.50g.00WWE
Now looking for a fix to the backlight keeps switching off

You say all you need to change is the pna file? I have some TTN2 USA Maps and have changed the .pna file to 562 and it still only finds my Great Britain TTN5 map.

UpToDate is a medical software which, in my opinion, is indispensible.
I faced a lot of problems in trying to run it on lots of WM 6.5.5 ROMs on my Raphael aka Touch Pro owing to which i had to stick to WM 6.1 ROMs!
But finally I found that the solution for this existed in fragments on XDA itself.
So I thought it would be great if it is compiled at one place so that everyone who is looking for it finds it.
DrTom's fix works on Energy Rom Leo 26 Feb WM 6.5.5 Sense 2.5.2012 build 23541 on My HTC Touch Pro!
Here is what I did:
1. Installed DrTom's Uptodate fix in device (see attachment).
2. Device prompts for soft reset-> say yes.
3. Make following registry changes using any registry editor like Sktools:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{8856F961-340A-11D0-A96B-00C04FD705A2}\InprocServer32]
default="shdocvw2.dll"
"ThreadingModel"="both"
Or if you have started using the new XDA_UC then
Download uptodate fix.txt from attachments in this post ----> rename it to uptodate fix.reg ---->copy and paste the uptodate fix.reg in \StorageCard\XDA_UC\SD folder ----> sit n njoy
Note you have to number both the files so that DrTom's fix installs before registry changes. I did it by renaming them to 01_DrTom UpToDate fix.cab and 02_UpTodate fix.reg!
4. Uptodate 17.3 works perfectly like it used to work on WM 6.1 ROMs!
5. Njoy and thanks a ton to DrTom for his wonderful fix!
P.S.: Internet explorer does not works with this fix but Opera works! So all surfing via Opera!

I hv installed opera 10 beta 3 as my default browser!
Working well with my OmniaII using GC lite rom(6.5.5). So great!!!, thank a million to you(DrTom). Now my problem with Uptodate have solved.

After the 1st of April UpToDate v17.3 stopped working. I should change the date of my phone(before the 1st of April) in order to make it work. It says some sh**s about expiration. Any fix???

Im not a expert but im fix the problem change the day of my windows phone. for example put it march 1 2009 and it works fine.
My uptodate 17.3 also expires. But i had the solution. Actually i found it incidentally. What i did is i went to the original 2577 folder in the iso dvd file , copy the cab file of the pocketpc sub folder, then paste it to pocketpc subfolder of 2577 folder in my pocket pc replacing the cab which i have taken from uptodate 17.2 to install the 17.3 to prevent card activation notification(which i think you have already done). Install the cab file agian on top of the previous installation.Open uptodate again. it works for me. I dont know how!!!!
