"missing" chips - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Accessories

I would like to repair a BA with 3 "missing" components.
Starting from this picture:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=21576&d=1105580720
I have marked the 3 missing componentsin the attached picture.
Does someone know what those components are or somewhere to get this
information from?
Thanks in advance,
Gianni

Question: Max Serial Speed?

BTW - I love this forum. Thanks to the mods for their time and energy.
Question:
I have a Tmobile XDA unit, and I am thinking of building some accesories for the unit.
I do have the serial pinouts, but I'm probably going to need more technical documentation on the serial communcations aspect.
E.G. I really would like to start off knowing the maximum chip bps of the ASIC I see in front of the connector (on the diagram posted on this site).
I can probably look it up, but that won't tell me the OSes maximum bps setting, which I don't have either. I have read 115,200 is probably the limit. If so, great. But can anyone verify this?
Any help = greatly appreciated. TIA.

[Q] Location of JTAG pads on Verizon s4 sch-I545 SKU SCHI545ZKV

I have seen the reference to the JTAG pads located on the back of the main board, but do not obviously see them. It would helpful to see an image with solder points and indications of correct pin identifications. Anyone have a good link for this?

[Mod] Radio High frequencies filter FIX KGL4 (board fix)

Hi guys.
I successfully fix radio high frequencies using some hardware mods.
Why I need these mod?
Radio quality is bad even if you use darkleo MCU mod. You can't hear frequencies more than 442hz because of hardware limitation (Chinese wrong calculations maybe). Doing this mod You can hear clear and great quality sound (up to 25,6khz, full range for analog FM radio )
How to do the mod?
You have to discover sound filter that comes from radio tuner (TDA or whatever). See pictures for KGL4 that filter was split into 2 parts (different than any other tutorial).
Special Thanks to Russian guys that first do this mod and release tutorial (although slightly different than mine's) and vaonline for his tutorial for KYD (http://home.scarlet.be/~spb27160/witson/Witson.html). All head units has the same/similar hardware.
What You need to buy.
1) 2 1nf 0603 (1608 metric) SMD Ceramic Chip Capacitors (you can find a lot on ebay or whatever). See pictures.
2) Pen style soldering iron (see pictures)
3) of course soldering paste.
See wiring diagram and PCB pictures that shows filter line and what to change.
You will notice extreme difference in sound (I still can't believe the difference) .
I also Upload old russian's tutorial in rtf format (google translated)
Pictures from PDA forum for some devices

GOOD LUCK FOR TESTER.
If someone need help for any PCB dont hesitate to post, I will try to help.
If someone want to donate me a cup of coffee he can do it

Does this also apply to the BN/HA models you think?

It should, although boards are different and need some investigation to find the right parts, as capacitor numbers may be different.
If you can take clear hd board photos from top and from bottom I can try to help.

Russian guys also change the whole circuit for some devices.
For example for KGL they changes also resistors and .....
AI only change the 2 capacitor and I get lost high frequencies. Bass its was ok from the beginning.
So if you have great soldering skill you can follow russian guys.
Thanks for pda link, some may find it usefull.
I make the mod on my KGL.
The sound is really better.
Before I was not able to capture some stations, now this is ok.
I posted 2 photos because the location of capacitor C212 and C213 is different for my KGL .
Joying new board

Change the red ones.
Thanks. I thought so, after studying your mod and the russian text. Will do once i get the 1 nano caps. I have 2.2nano and they are slightly bigger. Do you think size bigger caps will fit on the board in same place

Mmmm parts are small enough and no more space. So use the recommented one as frequencies are case sensitive
Will be using a hot air soldering gun. Will post pics when Im done. Have to wait for 1nf to come by post coz I couldnt source correct size (only 0805) locally. This will be my first try on smd caps, I have been practising on a bad harddrive, desoldering and soldering back caps and resistors.

caps changed yesterday. Original caps where 35nf. Changed them with 1nf. Radio sound is as good as it gets.

Great enjoy radio as it should be from the beginning.
I just did the same mod has @gordonscicluna and I have 2 questions:
1. I used 2.2nF caps, is this a big deal seems like it is much close to the 1nF that was used (I had ordered 2.2 since the Russian tutorial had mentioned 2-4nf), I assume if the original ones were 35nF or so the 2.2 should be much better but maybe not as perfect as 1nF?
2. What are the additional resistor changes for? The link for the JY images on the Russian website showed to change those as well, but when I opened up my JY unit it didn't look the same, so I only changed the caps (since @hadjistyllis had pointed out which ones to change on the JY board that I have).
According to hadjystillis's calculations 2.2nf will not liberate all the high frequencies.. You will miss the 15khz band. Using 1nf you will open all spectrum by far.

Change capacitors to have an higher cutoff frequency, and change resistors to modify the pass-band original gain.

Thank you, do you think it is really needed to change the resistors too? I have done the audio mod if that makes any difference

I dont think you need to change resistors. Changing only caps gives sound same as mp3

RK3188 - 800X480 is possible to rebuild to 1024X600?

As in the subject - is possible to rebuild unit who is now RK3188 - 800X480 to RK3188 with 1024X600?
Which hardware parts need to be changed, display only? What else?
I have Klyde unit.
the screen resolution has nothing to do with RK3188
it depends on your screen.
So if I would buy new screen 1024X600 and just replace with old, it will be working? And also just update ROM form old to ROM 1024X600?
I have done it on my Klyde. I contacted them and requested for a screen with TP (make sure they send them glued together, not separate as they did in my case ) and the corresponding firmware.
Very easy modification. Took me 5 minutes to do it.

Could you give us some details? Where can we order this 1024x600 screen?
I have a KLD unit too, and I want to make this modification.
Thanks
Balazs
Hey, interested in this also. How much did the screen cost if you dont mind me asking? A link would be great?

Hello
THANKS you for your feedback could you please provide us more detail and link tout buy it?
Thanks in advance for your help
any news?
based on your head unit model the screen, touch screen and the digital board that powers the screen need to be changed to switch to 1024x600 resolution.
parts you can resue are basically the SoM and the motherboard.
I repair many head units daily.

so, is there any possible way to do it?
Sorry, I lost this discussion. I just found it again.
As doctorman said, i had to change the LCD and touchpanel, and the digital board that powers the screen as the connector is different.
I don't know the exact price as i also upgraded the PCBA with the processor to pass to quad core and it was around 100usd in total

Thank you for the explanation however where you found thé part?
A link will be very appreciate ?
I have contacted Klyde directly on alibaba. After a few hours of negotiation they agreed to send me the spare parts.
I searched for the parts on ebay but i could not find them.
thank you for your feedback

HuiFei / KGL Replacement Parts Source

Hi all, after a couple of tinkering, I'm in need of the following parts for my KGL4 head unit:
KGL-7202RN KB-V00.2013-12-24 (SD slot with AUX)
KGL-7202 RN KB-V00.2013-12-24 (GPS slot)
KGL-MAIN-90D-V3 2018-07-20
I've tried contacting my seller but was advised I have to contact KGL directly for these parts. I tried contacting them over at their Ali**** account but have yet to get a response. With a lot of people modding their units here, does anyone have a reliable contact to purchase replacement parts from? I'm hoping this thread can be a reference point to others who are modding their units to help them get the contacts easily when they (hopefully not) make a mistake in modding their units as I did. That way the risks wouldn't be as much when modding as parts can be easily had as compared to how it is now.
i got replacement mother board from kaigele seller from alibaba, but is difficult that they accept, but no impossible
