Hi,
I am new to this site...
I have a Cingular 8525 which is a recent upgrade from a Cingular 8125. I installed MSVC 1.5 on my phone and then installed the upgrade to MSVC 1.6.
I just purchased a Jawbone BT headset, and basic linking/use is fine.
However, I was under the impression that I would be able to use voice to dial through the headset. This doesn't seem to be the case.
After doing some searching here I have come across a reference to a '09f fix' or '09f tweak' several times, but I can't seem to find any more information about this.
Can someone point me to more information / access to this '09f' fix or tweak?
Thanks,
Rob

When you get everything all hooked up join us in the Jawbone thread. I'd like to hear your experience with it. I'm gonna test mine today with the sunroof back and drivers window down doin 80+...see if they can hear me now!

p.s. IF you have issues getting it to work there are some great tips in that entire thread. It's great reading...especially when you get it to work in the end. BOO YA!
Xultar,
Thank you for the response...
I am finding it interesting to read through all the information on this site. I had already spent a lot of time in the WIKI that you referenced.
I guess I'm just dense, but I still can't find the file 0.9f (.cab ?). The thread you referenced says download it. But it doesn't say where? I can't seem to find it anywhere on this site or by Googling...
Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Rob
Ok... I finally found the 0.9f cab...
The instructions say to 'run' it. I don't know how to 'run' the cab file?? I unzipped the zip file I downloaded. What do I do with the cab file?
Thanks,
Rob
Hmmmm....
Ok.. found you can just copy cab file to phone and double click...
I've gone through the steps detailed in the thread you referenced, but no luck...
When I push the button on the headset a dialog pops up on the phone asking if I want to run BTVoiceCommand. The phone locks up at this point...
Any thoughts?

There should be an icon in your program menu for BT Voice command config
enable it I sent my VC duration to 20. In the bottom left corner it should say version 0.0f
Thanks for the time and assistance...
I did have the program enabled, and the version said 0.9f. However, when I would push the button on the headset to activate VC the following happened: VC would activate (I'd see the icon and hear a tone in the headset). But then a warning dialog would appear that asked if I wanted to run BTVoiceCommand.exe. At this point the phone would lock up. The dialog offered 'Yes' and 'No' buttons, but I couldn't click either. No function on the phone would work at this point.
I'm sure I'll come back to this in the future. But I tested the Jawbone, and I've decided to take it back. It is fantastic at general noise reduction. But it is TERRIBLE at handling wind noise. I drive a Jeep with the top down. I need to find a device that specializes in handling wind noise.
Thanks again for you help...

Actually no headset can handle wind noise very well.
About MS VC 16 and 0.9f...A hard reset may be necessary but if you want it to work...and it does a hard reset is worth it. For what it is worth 0.9f works in general with all BT headsets.
Good luck

I can say that it works great with the SE DS970
With this new rom I can now enable conformation when using MS voice command 1.6. Before i would have to disable conformation in order to use bluetooth with MS voice command, this is no longer a problem; can any one else confirm this?
Wow, I so have to check this out.
No lie! ha ha ha it works! saweet!
well, now caller id and messages arent sent through
there is a reg tweak which will let the caller id come through the bt headset,
sorry but not sure where it is.
Notification
I set the notification options to "Announce notifications using bluetooth hands free if available" and it works. When the phone rings I hear the ringing and the announcement through the headset. I did not do any registry changes as I used to do before this ROM. I am using a Jabra 8010.
I'm more excited about the confirmations working on 3.16 than even GPS and EVDO-A. I don't keep my headset in my ear very much, so I haven't even checked to see if notifications work through the headset.

I can also confirm that this problem is fixed. I took the plunge with the pre-release ROM and it's been working like a charm. I have not had to modify the registry to get notifications to work, either. I just went to Settings->Voice Command and setup my preferences.
I also have to agree that the Bluetooth fix is more exciting to me than the GPS stuff since I use this feature way more than I use GPS.
where can I get this fix?

touch forum? lol. we have a newer radio rom and bt drivers witch fixed the issue, so wait for someone to port them over. Sorry man.
Question: bluetooth definitely seems to be working 100% better (no longer disconnecting randomly, I can shift all sound to it now if I want, etc), but the button on my bluetooth earpiece no longer brings up the voice command prompt. When I run the bluetooth voicecommand proggy thingy it works, but I can't do it from the earpiece.
Am I missing something ridiculous? I've done some searching on the forums, but haven't found anything. ('course, I might just be pathetic and searching)

Did you assign Voice Command to Button 5? (Start > Settings > Buttons). I have Button 5 set to Voice Command, and Button 5 (Press & Hold) set to Record.

i have the same problem. after a hard reset and then installing ONLY voice command, it works PERFECTLY - announcements, confirmations, everything. after a soft reset something gets changed in the registry and it no longer is activated from the headset.
is there a program that can tell you what has been changed in a registry?
its frustrating that is working PERFECTLY and only upon a soft reset does it not work anymore...
ok... still trying to isolate what the problem is.
here are the symptoms. as before, everything works GREAT until i soft reset.
then, rather than the headset triggering the voice command, it opens the dialer app and hangs open. i have to uncheck the object in bluetooth settings, save, then recheck to reset headset.
i am trying some more stuff...
i found a PITA fix. apparently whatever happens after a soft reset messes up the bluetooth files. so i uninstall, soft reset, then reinstall.
sad thing is - i'd rather do this than keep trying to figure out what is causing this conflict...
1.6 Voice Command; announcements not coming over incoming calls
I have a ppc-6800 sprint mogul.
I have WM6 Professional
CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.3)
My issue is that when I installed VC 1.6, everything works fine, except I don't get the incoming call or calendar announcements. I have checked the appropriate boxes in the VC options settings to no avail.
I am certainly no xda-developer, and can become easily confused when talking about registry edits and .dll files. If anyone can provide explicit directions on how to fix, I would truly appreciate.

Hi @ all,
since a few days i am a proudly HTC Hero owner. Its quite an amazing phone with many features and a steady growing Market.
At the weekend i tried to couple my Hero with my bluetooth handsfree set installed in my car. But what i recognized wasn't so much pleasing: The Hero didn't display the handsfree set in the list of available bluetooth devices.
Before i got the Hero i had a HTC TyTN II aka Kaiser and it worked well with the handsfree set.
Perhaps anybody else have some similar trouble or experience with this and maybe a solution, fortunately. It would be great to keep usage of my handsfree set furthermore.
Thank you and best regards
On handsfree there are some buttons right ? You need to press them in a combination so the handsfree can be detected by your Hero. Just search on the handsfree guide or internet. I cannot help you because I don't have it and don't know the button combination. When you find it go to settings and turn on Bluetooth on your phone. Just search it and connect to it
Hi omokas,
yes, you are right.. but i've done this.
The users guide says you have to press the main button for 1 second. After that you will get a feedback sound and the led gets flashing... so far so good.. everything is fine but the Hero doesn't recognize.
Hopefully there are no different bluetooth protocols or whatever the devices can't communicate.
Have you tried an application from Market ? It may to the job
But if not then your handsfree must be an older version that your Hero can't recognise. Before buying a new one make sure your phone works with other handsfrees.

No, i haven't tried yet. Can you recommend one?
At the moment i'm not able to try an other handsfree. But i've just seen the handsfree is able to store seven pairings... maybe there is the problem.
So i'm going to delete all pairings and give a next try.
Thanks
Yes try that. You could try the application "Bluetooth+Headphones".
Sorry if I am not able to help further but I don't use handsfree because I am 13 and I don't know how to drive.
No Problem... I am appreciate for any Help!
Did you get any results yet? E.g. did the removal of the other pairings work? Or the app from the market?
I'm quite interested in this since I'm still looking into getting the CK-100 build in my car
I am planning on getting that carkit wired up outside of the car, so I can at least give it a try and see if it wants to work. But don't have that much time to give it a try yet, end of next week perhaps...
I have a CK-7W and it works with my Hero (official orange ROM).
It was a bit of a nightmare to get paired in the 1st place, the hero failed to find it but I kept trying and it eventually found it. I think I might have reset the hands free though (pull the power for a few minutes).
The device usually pairs pretty fast, sometimes it takes a min or two but not often.
My only gripes are :
1: some times it doesn't send the audio to the speaker keeping it on phone requiring you to use a menu option to do so.
2: The ring tone isn't the one set on the phone but a generic ringer.
3: Occasionally the phone doesn't disconnect properly when the other end hangs up requiring you to do so manually.
I have a CK-15W car kit
and its fully supported
it even downloads the phonebook very well
ck7w and hero
My hero worked first time! To pair you need to leave ignition off and hold the button in until it beeps, not just a short push as that just turns the car kit on. Once its beeped search for it and then pair using code. As yet I have had none of the problems mentioned here. I hope this helps
I have the same phone (Android 1.5 stock ROM) and the same Nokia CK-7W handsfree set.
For me this works fine. Didn't have to press the button on the handsfree set. Just searched for BT devices and paired.
I'm used to a good combination of bluetooth and voice dialing.. Maybe I don't have the hang of it with my new S3; but frankly it stinks. It takes forever for S Voice to recognize the command and then the contact might have a work and mobile #. Forget it. Isn't it supposed to respond to the command from bluetooth verbally? Hopefully, I'm doing something wrong. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks

I just got off live chat with AT&T and then Samsung. My Jawbone ERA was having big issues with what you outline above. S-voice stopped "hearing me" all together when I would engage S-Voice to listen to my voice commands. The application would work sometimes and then other times not at all. Eventually, today, S-Voice would ask "what would you like to do", then it was basically like I was muted no matter what I tried and S-Voice would not respond to me at all through bluetooth.
So, try these steps that the Samsung rep had me do that worked.
1) Tap settings>Application manager>All
2) Tap S-voice>Tap clear data
3) Do a soft reset on the phone
i. To perform Soft reset: Power off device>Remove battery>Wait at least 30 seconds>Reinsert battery>Power on device
4) Turn on your bluetooth device and wait for pairing to complete and try voice commands again.
Good luck.

Thanks for the hints. I was able to get it to work a couple times, but it didn't recognize the voice commands well. I decided to install the voice dialer.apk from another ICS rom and it works just as I was used to before. I just don't think S Voice is very good at this time.
Hi,
I have posted this in the Questions thread but had no answer so I am trying here to find a hero to help me!!!!
I have got an S5380i as a work's phone and when I have my Bluetooth headset connected to it, when you answer incoming calls the phone resets after exactly 16 seconds into the call. Outgoing calls are fine, but this happens about 80% of the time.
I have searched the internet for info about this and cannot find anything.
I have tried using the Jellyblast Custom Rom, which actually fixed the problem, but I couldn't use it as my works software developed problems with me not being able to read the text as the letters were too similar in colour to the background.
I AM new to this and have bricked this phone about 50 times trying to fix the fault (and have learnt how to unbrick it!), but would REALLY like some input on how I might fix the issue.
I have tried about seven different Bluetooth headsets, including genuine Samsung ones, and the results have been the same.
Is that enough info for you?

First of all, JellyBlast is a banned rom here. So lets not have anymore discussion on that. As for the headset problem, you can use the SoundAbout app from Google Play. Do post the result. Hope I Helped
Thanks for the replies guys. I will have a go at the catlog later when I get home and post the results.
The problem doesn't happen every time so hear with me while I try to get it to do it so I can post the log.
Sorry for mentioning 'that' rom, I was just using that as a point of reference as it was the only rom I have tried.
The headset issue isn't that the headphones don't work though, it is that using the Bluetooth headset causes the phone to crash when answering a call (not making one though), and I thought that using the sounds out app was to fix the headphone socket issue?
