I bought several unlock codes from him & they all work. Responds within 24-48hrs with the unlock code & instructions for unlocking the device.
Not affiliated to them in any way, private or commercial.
i called att and they unlocked it for free. it took me 10 minutes though.

It was free for us because we have put on £30 of top-ups (or used £30 of airtime) with Virgin.

I hadn't - never put a penny on it (apart from the ten quid it came with). Gave them a ring and asked for a code and they sent it to me in the post, no problem!

I have an original HTC (non-branded) Dual. If only I could do something beyond installing basic apps and tweaks I would offer to help... this device is like a fortress!

right call me thick but i have spent 2nights trying to find out how to, and all i get is send off for the code etc, is there a way to do it like on other htc`s.

There is no free unlock service for the HD2 at this time ...
This is a cheap trust worthy source got my unlock code in about 15 minutes ...
I do not believe there is a free way.
Sorry if this is bad to say in the forums. For a fellow user I will unlock it for you at cost.
I run 2 unlocking websites, have had alot of success with this and dont mind passing that code on at cost.
shame everythingcosts nowadays. unlock for other htc is easy not hd2. surly someone must do it for us members for free

Yes, I have an HD2 on O2 in the UK, and O2 sent me the unlock code (for free) when I contacted them via the unlock form on their website. Takes a few days to receive it but it's now unlocked.

I wanted to unlock it..
I have read all the posts all over INTERNET. The cheapest service i found on ebay was for 18 pounds(not verified still) with a unlock code.
Whereas the for x10a rogers and At&t it was for some 5 dollars!!!
I also read unlocking by cable. It says i have to buy credits for at least 10 phones.. that will cost me a lot !
I wanted to ask if there is a method to unlock it for free or cheaper...
can somebody suggest me the how to unlock it ..

First - try to contact your seller. If it worked, use official way if your seller is a current TMO customer. He should have active account for at least 90 days (as I remember) and have street address since they send unlock code by regular mail. It costs 15GBP. Usually it it doesn't work - who cares after successful transaction?
I used cable service of pretty well known "Sweden GSM". It costs $40. It took me around half an hour from payment till unlocking.
Another worked at least for two people from this forum service - by code. You'll get the code in 5-7 days after payment. It costs a little cheaper - $36.5.

It depends on the lock technology. Encoding with open and private key technically unbreakable (time to bruteforce is too long), but there is simpler way - SE can just generate random numbers and write down them to the database, so no crack, the only way is to steal whole database.
