I have an original HTC (non-branded) Dual. If only I could do something beyond installing basic apps and tweaks I would offer to help... this device is like a fortress!

Sounds like you need to contact T-Mobile, there must be something wrong with your unlock code if you have entered it 19 times and it hasn't worked.

you just need to phone T-mobile, telling them for example you are going to use other sim card when you are other UK, so you need this device unlock, they might charge you, but the way is just simply call them

oh, i didn't realize you are not a customer of T-mobile, in this case, it's no use to call them, they will only give unlock code to their customer. I have also bought my T-mobile MDA Pro on ebay, it was lock, no matter how many times i call them, they will just not give me the code, the only way is to ask the seller to do it for you, you see, every IMEI is link to their owner, in this case, it's not link to you but the auction seller, so you need to ask him to do it for you.
p.s. At least this is the case about 1 year ago.
BTW You do have a Ameo right? Why your title say HTC X7500?

I think I remeber you from the days of XDA-II so you have been around long enough to have benefitted from the works of Buzz, Pof etc. They never charged anything for their work. Could you please make it FREE or just some TOKEN for this. Mine is already unlocked free.
We need CID UNLOCK. For that I believe a lot of people will happily "donate" I am itching to try all the ROMs floating around. I am bored with the stability of the Athena so got myself a Trinity yesterday so I can keep myself busy while my Ameo is off to Imei-check for CID unlock. Yes I said CID......

That's way too steep - T-mobile UK will give me my code in another two weeks for £15, which is reasonable at this early stage in the Ameo's lifespan.

Is euro100 what T-Mobile Germany are charging? That's a bit of a rip-off too. It'll probably appear on here for us poor Ameo users for free in a few weeks (or less?) anyway.

It was free for us because we have put on £30 of top-ups (or used £30 of airtime) with Virgin.

I hadn't - never put a penny on it (apart from the ten quid it came with). Gave them a ring and asked for a code and they sent it to me in the post, no problem!

I bought several unlock codes from him & they all work. Responds within 24-48hrs with the unlock code & instructions for unlocking the device.

I have purchased a HTC Mozart from Ebay, brand new but locked to the Orange Network.
As I am currently in Greece, I really need to get it working with my sim. My operator is Cosmote.
So is there a hack to make the phone simlock free? Or is there a place one can buy a code to do this?
And if any, are they to be trusted? Is the sim unlock permanent?

I have searched on here, and google, and the first one I tried at the top of google (htcsimunlock.com) has come back saying IMEI lookup failed, and "do i want to upgrade to a 'Deep search' for extra $15" on top of the $13 I've already paid... sounds like a con to me so I opted for refund (we'll see whether I get it or not).
I'm aware there's dozens on google, but can someone recommend one from personal experience?

Orange UK users can ring orange and they will provide the code for free- can take 2-4 weeks tho! They claim this is because they have to get it from HTC which can take up to 14 days.

I had mine unlocked by mobileunlocked.co.uk.
cost was £21.99 and had the code within an hour. You can pay by paypal so all your credit card details are safe.
