i am new to the prophet so please dont Flame me
i have 2 questions...
1. What rom (wm6) is the best for the prophet i have an i mate jamin, and i recently updated it to the latest version from club imate...
I know ppl are going to say its up to you But i really want a rom which have been optimized and make my JaMin run stable and fast (WithOUT OVerclocking) Good battery Life.....
2.I also noticed that when i am using Tomtom and navigation is feels that it is running slow, like the cursor moves every 1 sec, i had tomtom on my nokia and it ran perfectly the cursor updated the car position every 0.5 seconds or so....is there a way to fix this or is this a problem on all JAMin....
1. Currently I'm running Prophet Touch XB by Gullum. It is running fast and stable and does not have any extra battery drain (as far as I can see).
2. Try to switch of all your POI's, maybe that will help. TT6 was not running smooth on my prophet either. Overclocking certainly will help. My prophet is running on 260 Mhz now and TT refreshrates are much better (still not perfect but usable).

does it drain the batter much faster ?
You can use BatteryStatus for overclocking your JAMin! When you overclock your CPU speed, the battery drain is increased but if you underclock your CPU speed the battery drain is also decreased!
In BatteryStatus you can use an autamtic speed stepping!

But on the main forums it says that tha guide is old and i should follow the new one which is This ONe with HardSPL
so which guide do i follow?

At first you have to Downgrade to WM5! You have an G4-Device!
Then Upgrade to WM6. But I guess you to wait for Crystal 5! Then you have a nice start.
It becomes the most current ROM.

i think the "Vista stylisch ROM" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351103 is the best yet (i didnt try crystal 5). It runs very fast, even without overclocking. It comes with the taskmanager, that allows overclocking. I can run my Prophet on 299Mhz stable. Very fast then.

ok so but downgrading to wm5 you mean i have to install a Novendor rom...

Also As stated above i have a g4 device, do i have to upgrade the IPL or the SPL ? or does the new rom do that automatically...

There is no rom which you can call the best.. They all have pros and cons, and some have same bugs and some have some different bugs.. Try them out and find the one you think is the best for you..

Personally I like Fantastic Mobiz v1.1i the most. I used for a while, but after the new releases, I tried those. I want to go back to v1.1i again, but I cannot download it successfully. Does someone have a mirror (in one file)? TIA.

I'm a newbie, sorry for my questions and my poor english. I've already read the wiki, and read in forums a lot.My queston is: are these wm6 roms both for G3 and G4 models? How do I know if a rom is for G3 or G4 if it is not written on it?? (I don't really want to brick my phone) I've cid unlocked my G3 device (as it was written in the wiki) Now ipl is 2.09, spl 2.20.0000 and, the old rom becouse of the cid unlock (14409.1.1.2) and the original qtek extended rom. Do I have to do something with my extended rom (clear or uppgrade or delete?..) before flashing a wm6 rom, or just do the things what is written in the wm5->wm6 wiki? I'm looking forward to your answers, couse I couldn't get more information on the net, altought Im sitting here almost for three days

Hi Gaspara,
I'm a newbie as well , I have a G3 Imate JAMin, which i've upgraded to PDAViet 4.0.0.0.6, I've had a couple of issues since installing it, but I see a ton of people on this forum that show they have G3 device with this ROM and don't appear to be experiencing the same problems... I will say this, the PDAViet 4.0.0.0.6 is pretty awesome... TouchFLO is kewl, A2DP already built in and setup, Photo Contacts, External GPS automatically showing in Connections tab, keeps memory pretty free and clear and a whole lot of other cool stuff... For this, I really like it and there's NO WAY I would go back to my old JAMin WWE ROM downloaded from the Imate site...
The above having been said, I've had a couple of problems that pissed me off..
1. After following the WM5 -> WM6 Upgrade Guide, I received the Congratulations! screen and did a hard reset... After installing a couple of programs and setting up my Owner Info, Device ID, etc., I setup a PIN and locked phone... When I tried unlocking the phone it kept saying that the PIN i entered was incorrect, when I know that what I entered was the same pin that I setup... I had to do another hard reset and lost everything... ARGGHHH!
2. After doing the Hard Reset in (1.) above, which meant losing all the installed programs and the browser settings, etc. , I decided I was not going to get "fooled again" so to speak, so I setup the device, but made sure not to use a password, which worries me if my phone ever gets into "the wrong hands," but then I figured I don't have the SD card encrypted anyway, and that has a bunch of sensitive files on it, so I'd be screwed anyway and I figure i can live without locking my phone (however if any other readers out there know why this happened and can advise me on how to avoid it that would be gr8)... So, I logged onto a different computer than I originally had set a partnership with my device with, I downloaded ActiveSync 4.5 from Microsoft, and I attempted to sync the device via bluetooth... I had a program called BlueSoleil (trial version) installed on my computer which found my PDA, I connected it allowing serial port and i forget what the second service was, but anyway... After several attempts to sync the device over bluetooth, by creating outgoing ports, by choosing different incoming ports on both the desktop and PPC I gave up... A short while later I noticed that my devices battery had dropped to about 40% or so... Soon after that it was even lower and the screen stopped responding... I tried a Soft reset, nothing happened... Finally after hitting just about every button and praying, I did a hard reset and lost all my data again...
So, now if I'm not leaving anything out I'm on my third go around, I've put nice little pictures of friends and family on my HTC TouchFLO contact list, my browser settings are all up and running, i've reloaded the programs and serial numbers, and everything is going well, mind you it's been approximately 24 hours... I don't expect it to continue going well, and I hope that I can find this thread again to give an update... But in any case, I want to hear about other peoples experience and I'll try to check back here to see if anyone knows why I've had the problems mentioned in this posting...

I m planning to upgrade to WM6..
After lookin at all the threads i m still havin some doubts..
1.I have finalised on PDA_VIET v4.0.0.1 is it safe for prophet ...with SPL 4 (on reset shows as IPL/SPL 2.15.001)
2.In one of the threads i read as to downgrade using RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID - is it important to do if i m to upgrade with PDA_VIET v4.0.0.1
3.If in case i m stuck in between of the upgrade will i be able to ROLLBACK to my existing WM5..
4.Any other tried and tested ROM of WM6...
5.Will it really make sence to upgrade to WM6.
6.Any new update for dopod ROM 2.15.13.27
7.Finally i know i m a fool to ask you again but can you give me the step by step procedure for upgrade....

Can't answer all your questions but with regard to the actual upgrade then follow this thread. Its a sticky right at the top of this forum and is there to aid people through the process.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE follow it word for word. It works if you do this but you may get into difficulties if you don't - you have been advised.
I have successfully used the process a number of times to go back and forth between WM6 versions and then back to WM5.
Remember that if you want to go back to your original WM5 ROM you'll need the ROM upgrade for this in order to do it. The download links are there for everything you'll need for WM6 - use them.
If you are in any doubt then STOP and don't go any further. Ask for help in the forum or reread the instructions. The large numbers of issues that people seem to have are, I am convinced, caused by either not using the instructions or not following the published ones.
Having used WM6 on my Propher I'd have to say that currently the available ROMs whilst fantastic achievements, aren't really what I'm prepared to use on a daily basis. If you are happy to beta test and install your apps everytime you upgrade then go for it.
I am currently back on WM5 either until I see a WM6 ROM that I am able to use 'in anger' day to day.
I'm really interested to see if we get a working HTC Touch port - now that would be something.

2. Stay in WM5
The WM6 ROM for Prophet that you are looking for or for that matter, that many are looking for, is still in the kitchen, cooking.....
Unless you feel that you fit the pre-requitsite, or you feel humping Prophet is more enjoyable than .... then jump to the WM6 pool ......

so i conclude that this is not the right time to jump to WM6 as far as prophet is concerned..as the ROM are still BETA am i right ???
but what if I wanna use the PDA_VIET v4.0.0.1 is it safe for prophet ...
or any other ROM.
Also will the newer ROM (if any coming) will be having the TOUCH features..
m really looking fwd to it on my prophet..
Finally do we really gonna have the official WM6 rom for prophet..by any chance ,if yes when...

There will never be an official WM6 release for the prophet, these wm6 roms you'll find are from other pda's made ready for the prophet.
They are all safe to use if you follow the steps that you have red in the upgrade topic.
If you want the HTC Touch gadets on your Prophet you should read this topic and try out the Fantastic Mobiz v2.0b4! rom
You can always switch back to wm5 if you dislike wm6 roms
Any advice: make an backup of your contacts/messages/photoshoots ect. because you will loose anything on your phone memory and find out if you have a G3 or a G4 phone!

Also will upgrading to WM6 any thing got to do with the GSM service provider...
In mumbai we have HUTCH...so will my GPRS or other be affected..

I can't say which rom is best for you, they all have their own advantages, you'll have to find out yourself which one suits you
Upgrading your rom has nothing to do with your GSM service provider, but your GPRS settings will be lost after an rom update so you'll need to know how to set them right
After trying several WM6 ROMs for my iMate JAMin (G4) I've gone back to WM5, as using this as a phone is my main priority, which every WM6 ROMs I tried, have failed to do.
Now I've got the RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID WM5 ROM installed.
I'd like to know a few things:
1) Is there a better WM5 ROM than the current one I'm using
2) Is there any way to increase the free RAM? Is this Pagepool thing applicable to WM5 too? I get only 23.5MB free after a soft-reset
3) Can I get Office Mobile 6/6.1 installed in any WM5 ROMs?
4) Can i run HTC Cube in a WM5 ROM?
5) The HTC Network Wizard was a useful tool which I miss in WM5. Can it be installed & used in WM5? If yes can anybody give me the CAB for the same?
I had first posted all these questions in the 'Prophet Upgrading' section. But haven't yet received any proper answers. It seems all smart guyz are busy over here
So I hope for some ans at least now. Thanks in advance guyz....

How can i enable the big digital clock...
Hello, i´m very happy with WM6.1 on my HTC Gene, but i miss the big digital clock in the home screen, how can i enable it?

Install HTC Home Plugin and you're good to go and if you feel more adventurous then install HTC Home Customizer, with which you can tweak HTC Home.
i hav upgraded to WM 6..can anyone giv exact instructions for WM6.1.....i hav downloaded file from filefactory as above.... so can i run the rom update utility directly to upgrade or do i need to use HSPL procedure again...thnx

You need to download AP 4.0 rom and run it as exactly told in the instructions, Follow them to the letter or you may mess up. Once thats loaded you can either run that rom or try the new AP 5.0 beta. once you have AP 4.0 on your athena you will have SPL 3.5 on as well. However you cant go back to using shipped rom's without using a SPL 3.5 type rom or swapping your SPL back, and I dont know how that is done.
Just read up first before doing anything!!!!

No worries, But I cant stress the read the instructions first bit enough. No end of people have had problems by jumping the gun, including me!! I didnt take out my SD card and by the time I had realised what had happened it was to late. You can normaly get the rom onto your athena if you mess up, but you usualy end up without WiFi. so then that has to be sorted. Pawel and Irus have made some very good roms on SPL 3.5 and irus has added an HTC shipped rom if you want to go back to basics.

I'm not sure if you need WM 6.0 first, but if your ok with flashing roms then do WM 6.0 first!
Ive put the link you need on my post above.
And its a matter of personal choice if you want the roms or not. read the contents of them and make a choice. Pawels roms 4.0 and 5.0 are from the x7510 so about as good as you get. Irus roms are WM 6.1 so also very up to date. You do get a few minor bugs in cooked roms though.

i have no need to upged to it !!
but i was on to update to WM 6.1
and if Wifi will not work on AP4 so it is no good for me i need to know whats the best and will not be to bugy thats all !!

Flash AP4 - just follow the instructions and it will all work.
AP5 is still beta (but a very good one)
Or you could just flash one of irus' ROMS but I'd recommend AP4
whats the probleme with wifi in AP 4.0? i hare it isnt working

You misunderstood, if flashing AP 4.0 goes WRONG then you end up with WiFi not working till its fixed! If you do everything right then everything runs well!
You will get a bug or two on any cooked rom, even shipped roms have them. but read the thread and you can see most have a cure!

As responderman said - it only doesn't work if you don't follow the instructions. Follow them and it works.
If you can't follow instructions don't flash your phone.
Igo 8 will work i did see a post in hare that thay say it may not work have you test'd it do you know any thing on that problem ?
man i think i am in to asking it that i am new with this 1 i had flsh't all my ppc but this 1 i didn't yet so i am like on a bit confused what to do and if i do it what Rom is best i know that i had Kaiser i liket the WM6.1 on it and for me to go beck to WM 6.0 is a big problem thats why i am in to asking all of that thing's !!
I think it's better to unlock only to spl1.2 and not 3.5 because spl3.5 device cannot come back to 1.2 at the moment. With spl3.5, you can only use ap3, ap4, and ap5, not not the stock rom.AP4 and 5 has many unresolved issues at the moment, so some users found themselves having to use ap3 at the end.
A smarter strategy is to go spl1.2, and you can use pk1, pk2, pk3, irus vanilla, irus lite, irus full, irus AP4, stock rom (many versions here), wm5 (technically possible, but I know of only one user who prefers that). Irus ROM is faster than AP4 and 5, according to a user who had used both. SPL1.2 leaves you with more memory too.
Ap5 in spl1.2 will very soon be available. Many spl3.5 users are waiting for the tool to come back to spl1.2, and they would love the chance to make this choice of spl once again.

This guy had the same problem as you because he did not read the instructions
He solved it by reading the wiki and the links referenced.
We have told you what you are doing wrong as it is a common mistake.
Stop whinging and start reading!
My 2 Cents
Have a look at all the info on the several flavors of rom available for the Athena based decvices, choose the rom you feel fits your needs, take your time and follow the instructions (what ever rom you choose have a look at the ap4 wiki because it covers some issues that are WM6.1 related and are not AP4 unique) as with all cooked roms there may be some issues but if you follow instructions you should be fine (as already stated if you go with AP4 and upgrade to the new SPL 3.5 you can't go back for now, the AP team is working on a path back to the factory roms).
