Time keeps on resetting - P3400 ROM Development

There seems to be a peculiar problem with my P3400. The time keeps on resetting in it. I've configured the time to GMT +5:30 (since I'm in India), but mostly after every 6 hours the time goes back to GMT +0:00. I've already applied the patch that is provided by HTC but that doesn't seems to work.
Any pointers ?
Thanks

I think HTC released a fix for that for the Gene, I myself never had that problem, but try the cab on the HTC website.

I've already applied that patch Vukile, but the problem still exists.

Borked by password bug

Well that's how it goes. Less than 24 hours after singing the praises of my upgraded Ameo, I got bitten by the password problem - it has to be set due to the security settings at work, turned it on this morning and wouldn't accept the password. After 5 tries (not the 6 promised!) it erased EVERYTHING - microdrive, memory card, everything.
12 hours later and i still can't get it to recognise the microdrive, nor to sync email either from home or from exchange server. I have tried hard re-set, hard re-set with microdrive format and have even re-flashed the ROM, this time with PK DUAL
Now pretty much at wit's end and thinking I may have to send back to T-Mobile. Any suggestions before I do? Will I have to find original ROM before I send it back? - just found the official WM6 T-mobile ROM so I may try that first.
Bugger
Update:
Just received unit back from T-Mob. They have replaced the entire base unit and I suspect there was a real hardware problem somewhere. Whether this caused the password problem or not I cannot tell. Real pleased with T-Mob support and even more so when they confirmed there is a 24-month warranty on the unit.
Restored Ameo to previous spec and all is working just as I mentioned in earlier forum.
I'm a happy bunny once more.

going back to official rom....

hi,
i apologize in advance for the long post
a few days ago i finally decided to root my phone and install a custom rom....and i succeeded in doing that too, but this is where my one and only issue started coming up....
ok, so after rooting, i decided to install villain rom 10.2 (its a great rom by the way)...after installing it, everything was working fine until i opened up the messages area...when i open up a conversation the order of the messages are messed up. And its due to the fact that the time stamps on the messages that i'm receiving are an hour ahead of the time on my phone. And the time on my phone is the correct local time for my area. The time zone that i've set on the phone is GMT+6 (islamabad, karachi)...now as far as i can remember my time zone should be GMT+5 and not 6 due to the fact that we dont use daylight savings time here....and im pretty sure thats what the issue is too. i tried numerous ways to fix this, even tried selecting auto detect time and date from network, but not even that worked.
So, after spending all that time without fixing the issue (im a heavy texter so not having the conversations in order is a problem for me), i decided to try another rom, so i went with villainroms superhero rom...and the same thing occurred with that....
So finally, i've reverted back to my last official rom (1.5)(2.73.405.5)
If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, or if they know of a custom rom where this issue doesnt occur please do let me know.
Also,
How can you tell where your phone is from? i have an unbranded htc hero, but how do i know whether its from europe or asia?
and would it be possible for me to flash the official htc 2.1 rom thats on the Taiwan website even if my phone isnt from there?

[Q] Clock drift on Das BAMF remix 1.6.3?

I noticed this morning that my clock was off (ahead) about 8 minutes or so. Unchecking and re-checking 'Automatic' under settings re-synced it.
Anyone else had this issue?
Same thing happened to me earlier this week. I had to turn off automatic date/time and set the time manually. I just turned it back to automatic and it seems to showing the correct time.
im using jcase's gingerjane and its doing it too for two days now. i have a buddy here with an htc phone not modded at all and his is doing the same.
mine is drifting also and im on das bamf 2.0.5 gingerbread

Stock Thunderbolt, I assume?
I had the same issue today for the first time ever. My alarms were going off 15 minutes early this morning and i thought the rest of the clocks in my house were off because my Cell phone clock is never wrong. Very strange, no idea why this would start happening to others at about the same time.
I'm also running 1.6.3 Remix.
OK, here's some good info. Sounds like this time lapse is affecting a large majority of HTC phones:
"HTC examines issue with time display smartphones
An update to correct the time display on HTC phones with Android. It GoT many users reported that their appliance between five and fifteen minutes voorliep. Or is there a relationship with the spontaneous restart of phones is unclear.
The first notification came it GoT Friday afternoon and affects all models of HTC with Android. Or also sets with another OS are affected is unclear. Supposedly, there is a problem with the time server of HTC. The issue is that the time is five to fifteen minutes ahead. Sometimes the time jumps. The problem was on the editorial staff of Tweakers.net be reproduced.
HTC is investigating the issue, which is not limited to the Netherlands. That reports the British site Tech radar. The manufacturer would quickly with a statement about the problem with the time display. It is unclear whether there is a link with the spontaneous restart of HTC phones on the Vodafone network. That would netwerkgerelateerd issue, but Vodafone has not made a response on the issue. The provider is aware of the problem. A workaround is turning off the 3 g connection. It would also issue particularly in people with a Vodafone SIM card where the serial number starts with a 7."

[Q] gps keeps failing

Hi,
Can anybody help me with this? My gps keeps failing. A reboot sometimes works, I've tried running quick gps but this makes no difference, Sometimes it will reboot itself after it fails (sometimes repeatedly!!) normally when using copilot 8. It doesn't seem to be an issue with copilot as google maps and chartcross gps also fail to work.
rom htc 3.14.405.2(04666)wwe date 29/09/2010
radio 2.15.50.14
protocol 15.42.50.11U
os 5.2.21913(21913.5.0.94)
many thanks
Does it fail in all usage situations (indoor, outdoor)?
Do you use Quick GPS?
Did you try another Radio ROM?

No, I've not changed radio.
I tried again last night. Co pilot worked for a minute or so then lost gps, then "gps back, determining position..." then rebooted itself, repeatedly and did freeze on boot up once. I soft reset it and tried google maps, it found no sats and rebooted itself, tried again and it was ok for about 10 minutes on copilot then I had finished my journey... It's infurating I do know! Would it be worth trying a different radio as I've not changed it from stock and it's only recently benn misbehaving?
It's still misbehaving... Is there anything in the registry that might cause it?
This may be a bit too drastic, but a hard reset can rule out the registry as the culprit.
I'm trying to avoid a hard reset if I can. I'd have to reinstall the modified rom if I did wouldn't I? (from htc website)
This is really getting me down now... Last night co-pilot worked for 10 minutes then without warning or apparent loss of gps phone rebooted, then without opening any apps or even touching it, it rebooted itself 4 times. I'm thinking a hard reset has got to be tried..
Forgive my ignorance, but if I hard reset will I have then to reinstall the updated rom and patches I installed from htc late last year to remedy daylight saving issues etc and will I be able to reinstall paid for software from marketplace without buying again?
Can anyone help please?
I've read about the rebooting problem with other users. This was caused by bent battery pins.
Did look at those?
thanks. battery pins look fine to me. i will try a hard reset, i'm just wondering if i can reinstall my paid for marketplace software or will i have to buy again and i presume i will have to reinstall htc patches and updated rom after hard reset. please forgive my ignorance. it threw a fit this morning too. i switched it to silent for an hour whilst at a funeral and when i came out battery was totally discharged. it was about 90% beforehand. it seems to be dying!!!!!!
Does nobody know, please?

Thanks for the bad news but I think you may be correct.... I've hard reset it and the gps and rebooting side of things is exactly the same, but now it also seems to be eating the battery(COMPLETELY drained in 16 hours with approx 15 minutes of calls made and a brief use of copilot and googlemaps) and I've not installed any additional software or made any changes from "out of box" condition apart from reinstalling my contacts and the latest version of facebook.... It now also is not porting facebook profile photos into contact list even though I have recreated the links.... I have emailed htc but had no response from their "crack" support team as yet (it's only been 26 hours so far). I only got the HD2 in August last year so hope that it will be a warranty issue. I seem to remember people having issues with facebook contact photos but can't find the posts. Can anyone help??
Well, an update. After 3 months and the unit going back to the repair centre FOUR TIMES and a TWO replacement units I appear to have a working device again. HTC repair centre seem to be totally useless. I've had no info from them regards any repairs that have been carried out. Each time it went away for repair it was back within 4 days so very little testing was done.(I did find out on 1 repair the speaker and the wireless card were replaced....Why???) The first replacement unit took 2 weeks to arrive though and that had absolutely no gps.......The second replacement took 3 1/2 to arrive but so far the gps is ok but I still have no facebook profile photos in my contacts list....... Any ideas how to rectify this??

[Q] rebooting after unrequested update

Hi, please in case I am in the wrong place do not blame at me, just inform and I'll stop to bother.
My problem:
HTC desire V bought on 2012 in Russia from offcial HTC center.
I am in Istanbul for work and my phone automatically updated software to 1.73.401.4
Since then continuous and random reboot usually when working (during the nigjht rarely happen). I already reset to factory default but no result.
Even being a total newbie I suspect there is something related to the geographycal area of phone. Am I right? Is there anything I may do to solve the issue which is creating me a lot of troubles?
Thanks in advance to all and sorry if I am wrong.
Orazio
Mine used to reboot all the time, updating to 1.73.707.1 stopped this and it's been fine ever since.
