File Explorer - Long File Name - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 ROM Development

When browsing through file explorer, some long file name cannot show all.
Anyone has a solution? I remember last time we can adjust the width?
Thank you.

Can't Edit Files (Text Editor)

Hi all,
I can't edit the text files on my Mini...I have tried every idea and cannot edit a file...I'm trying to disable auto-brightness. On my old 2010 Mini the option comes up immediately - edit in text editor, but not in this one. How are you guys doing it?

What textfiles do you try to edit?
It could be a permission problem.
I use the text editor built in "ES File Explorer", I am very happy with it.
Sometimes I also use the terminal emulator and "vi".
Thanks for the tip, I'll give file explorer a go.
I am trying to edit hw_config.so
The flashtool in this area that people use allows you to edit a file in your phone and thankfully I did it. But as you know you need an app on your phone to do that too. Root explorer won't allow me. I've mounted, changed permissions to all types and no luck.

Ok, that was also the first reason why I did choose "ES File Explorer" I have been very happy with this file manager.

Can't find system File on ES Explorer for Build.prop

I have a rooted nook tablet with CW7 installed, also have ES File Explorer installed on as well, Looked in for a System file to change to Nexus or something else so I could D/L AngryBirds Space for the kids.. I'm a noob by most standards but can figure out quite a bit if someone can point me in the right direction here..
Thanks;..
Go into ES File Explorer settings. Scroll down until and make sure Root Explorer and Mount File System are checked. Go back to ES File Explorer's home screen and hit the Favorites tab. You should now be able to find the build.prop.

sorry,does not see
Use ES file explorer.
You can long click on any file and then choose ×´shortcut".
Go back to your homescreen and you'll see the file there.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda app-developers app
You can do this in a number of ways. I normally use Root Explorer, or I sometimes use Tasker.
The easiest is to use Root Explorer (other file managers may work the same). Just navigate to a file and long press on it and choose 'Create shortcut' from the context menu. The shortcut is automatically put on your homescreen and you can then add it to a folder (screenshot attached).
Thank you all.
I used ES file exlorer.

I used to have n95 until now and was satisfied with it. Even though performance of s3 is amazing, I find it "little funny" for the price of over 600€ that I have to install few apps to just do "basic stuff" like:
- create shortcut on home screen for a file
- send SMS to more than 10 people at once

Rok

did you enable read hidden folder option in es file explorer.
You created a hidden file. then it should then be listed in the root menu.

Best File Explorer

As title says, looking for a file explorer that will be on rooted phones, something that will show all files & hide nothing.
I may do some personal app development if that makes a difference and want/need a file explorer that holds nothing back.
Thanks in advance for your suggestion,
Bob
