Hello Everybody! Hope Christmas has been good to you...
I've got a question: How do I Install A2DP on my XDA II ? I tried programs like Enable A2DP.ZIP but my XDA II (from O2) said this is not a valid Windows CE Setup Data.
I've got a nice BT Headset from Jabra BT 320s. And I wanted to hear stereo music with it.
My op. System on XDA II is...Microsoft Pocket PC Vers. 4.20.0 (Build 14053)
Thanx for quick answers!!
"not a valid Windows CE Setup Data."
is a typical issue with a user trying to run an pc activesync application install exe file on the pda rather then on the pc
Sorry for the unclear formulation:
The EnableA2DP.zip was of course extracted on the desktop pc. The two *.CAB files were sent to the XDA II folder. After trying to install these files, the error massage appered. There was no *.exe file at all.
Thanks again,
Aczede

RE: How do I run ExtendedROM Unlocker?
Hi all,
I'm a newbie that has just gotten my hands on a secondhand XDAII. I have upgraded to WM2005 but with only 14mb of storage. I intend to increase it to 32mb by using the DOC tool. But before that, it require me to run ExtendedROM Unlocker.
Now this is where the problem comes in. I downloaded the .rar file and there is no executable files i can use. The files unzipped have extensions like from .000, .001 to .005. How do i use these files?
Also, any precautions to take before i do the steps to expand my storage to 32mb?
Would really appreciate your help for this newbie. Last time i use a TREO600, but now i think XDA rocks!!!!
Regards
Danny
That program is not for your desktop, download it to your XDA and use it there. Also check www.buzzdev.net before doing anything. Everything you need to know is there
Hi All,
I am a newbie when it comes to flash my XDA II. With respect to my question, I searched all over this forum, but could not get the solution that is working for me. May be I got confused between different procedures for different ROMs.
Earlier, I tried upgrading my XDA II from PPC 2003 to WM5. While doing that all I did was took a backup of my origional PPC 2003 ROM using XDA OS Image Tool from XDA Toolkit. That is the only thing I have - ROM.nb1.
I successfully upgraded to WM5, but now started getting too meny warnings about Low Storage Memory. Frustrated with that, I decided to go back to where I was - with PPC 2003.
While doing so (downgrading from WM5 to PPC 2003), I used XDA OS Image Tool to write earlier created ROM.nb1 to my XDA II (with ActiveSynch 4.2 connected). OS Image tools shows copying the file and the first error comes up -
ERROR: GetDeviceData - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. error getting devicedata
After that prgramme a v1.09 comes up say to hit next. Once I go through the couple if next buttons I get a second error -
ERROR 011: EXECUTE REMOTE COMMUNICATION PROGRAM ERROR
Cannot execute the remote communication program. Please make sure that the USB/Serial Cable is properly connected.
The cable is connected and activesync works normally.
I would like to mention here that while flashing my XDA II, all I have is earlier saved .nb1 file.
Am I missing something here ?
Please guide me.
Thanks in advance,
Bhushan.

Just installed this on my Ameo to check it out, screen went blank halfway through the install, now it won't start up on a soft reset. Booting into safe mode won't work either.
Good thing I have a recent backup.....

Problem with HTC Audio Manager
Downloaded the .cab on my phone and installed the program, but whenever i press the .exe file, nothing happens. Executed it in the programs, and directly using file exploror, but nothing happens, all i see is the wait-symbol and then nothing nix nada. Any clues? Got XDA Orbit (HTC Artemis) with WM6
Thanks
Works fine for me all.....
I installed it straight to the device (presumably as HTC would have done). Fired up straight away with no problems at all...even scans the device for all music files! Cheers Midget..Black is my favorite color.

Hi I have the same problem also on My T-Mobile Ameo with WM6
However I don't have the AudioManager.exe.0409.mui file in my windows folder; it's in my "program files/HTC Audio Manager" folder
Changing it to 0407 didn't help
Copy-pasting it to the windows folder didn't help either.
Any More suggestions?

You mast rename AudioManager.exe.0409.mui according to your language code. My is 0419 and renaming AudioManager.exe.0409.mui to AudioManager.exe.0419.mui did the job.

anyone tried this yet.
Does doing a hard reset alter the application free settings or anything else, for that matter?
Just checked and Folder 3 is showing empty when I unzip it onto my PC before transfering. Is this correct?
also, having unzipped the files I am also unable to delete the sound file. It tells me one of the files is in use?
Are we sure the Crossbow tweak works on the Monet and that none of these files is corrupted?

Thanks rickwyatt.
Just aout of interest is this Only a 'LOOKS' thing or does it add more useful features?
Perhaps I did it wrong but when I unzip the files I end up with 3 folders (Numbered 1-3) PLUS one called Sounds.
Thanks for the theme
The theme worked in my startrek. But, i don't see the alarm icon on whenever i reboot the phone though i set the alarm on. Any idea?
i have tried this on my monet, the first time i followed the instructions as listed here only to fine the phone hangs making strange noises after the sim code screen.
i have carried out a hard reset on my phone and tried again, this time using only the shelres dll from the first folder, no other dll's but all the other files,
i restarted the phone and it started fine however there was nothing in the start menu - one quick restart and all the new icons are present.
looks lovely
thanks
It also worked great on my Qtek 8500, without any problems at all!
Thank you very much!
EDIT: Well, the alarm icon does disappear when I reboot, but as I had WM2003 before,
I'm kind of used to not see the alarm icon on the homescreen! LoL!

Hi there- I inherited an SX56- but can't seem to download new proggies to it! Not too sure if it has PC2002 or 2003, but i can tell you it has:
ROM Version 3.17.03 ENG
Radio: A.20.10
I tried using installing ActiveSync- but I guess I need a serial key or something.
Since I couldn't find a post on how to build with current updates- can someone reply or re-direct to a post that lists what I need to make this baby current so I can install some of the cool utilities for this PDA?
Thanks again!
PS: Im running XDA-developers SW on this baby!
activesync can be freely downloaded from ms's site
and require not serial
if it ask for code when you connect your pda it's the pda's
user set code it wants
ok- got the latest active sync- 4.5 build. I still can't seem to successfully run .msi files or .cab files to and from the sx56. I tried dropping the .cab files to different directories- since its probably looking for PPC2002 files as well to run the program. I also downloaded CNET framework v2.0.2...still can't seem to install programs onto the pocket PC
any ideas?
Cheers!
i think msi files was ment to run from the pc not the ppc
