I upgraded my I-Mate Jamin yesterday to Profit Shadow 1.0 after following the upgrade guides, doing a Hard SPL, etc. All worked very well. Then I noticed that the volume wasn't as high as I liked, so this morning I flashed it again to Crystal 5.0 (not 5.1) and the volume was no better. Then I looked around and found an older version (dumb me I didn't realize it was a WM5 version) by LVSW (RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID ). This ROM had an extended ROM apparently. All installed OK, then I realized it was a WM5 program (volume still lower than I was looking for), so I decided to flash back to Profit Shadow 1.0 (no errors during the flash, but at the end when I got the HTC screen it went into Bootloader!). That's brings me to my PROBLEM! NO MATTER WHAT I TRY TO FLASH BACK TO, I JUST END UP IN THE BOOT MODE. I can flash LVSW ROM and it works, but NOT for any other ROM!! I have tried everything, read the forums for 6 or 7 hours and I tried everything suggested, but I'm unable to find a solution so I can Flash Back To Profit Shadow 1.0 OR Crystal 5.0. This seems like such a NOOB problem, that's why I searched for hours for a solution (hate to ask for help until I try to help myself first[/I])! I've flashed other HTC phones without problems… just never seen a ROM ( LVSW's RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID ) that just refuses to be flashed over!!!
You guys are always great and helpful. If someone could help me out of this mess, I would really appreciate it!!!
Try..
-If you installed ShadoW etc. rom, your SPL is 2.G4.4PDA..
-If you back to WM5, your SPL is 2.20.0001..
-If you want to install again ShadoW, first install HardSPL for increase your SPL to 2.G4.4PDA again, after you can install ShadoW
I did all that you suggested before I made a post for help... even tried it again, all except using the G4 method HardSPL (as my Jamin is a G3 - that's what I did the HardSPL for). Nothing I've read so far works... yes I've been all over the upgrade guides, etc. My hair is already gray, but it's going white fast!
Here's the information off the bootloader screen:
SPL 2.20.0000
IPL 1.0
GSM 02.47.21
OS 2.20.7.34
The ( LVSW's RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID ) just refuses to be flashed over!!! I'm not kidding! Try to flash ANY other ROM and it reverts to the boot loader screen, BUT I can flash LVSW's ROM above without errors!
There are a LOT of brilliant people out there... Does ANYBODY have a FIX for this? I'm tired, blurry eyed, pissed off, frustrated and feeling awfully stupid at the moment! HELP!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
How about this?

THANK YOU SO MUCH dioxda2!!!!!!!!!! I've got my Jamin back on WM6!!! You don't know how much I appreciate it!!! There should be a STICKY on the link you gave me!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353547
I had tried the TRADITIONAL Method last night, but it didn't work for me, but this DID work!!! IT SHOULD BE A STICKY STICKY STICKY!!!
you've better.... ( FOR NEW METHOD)
1. After flashing hardSPL for g3 ( step 1) all went ok.
then BEFORE flashing/upgrading your Prophet to WM6,
please copy the 3 files from the jumpspl.zip to the root directory of
your G3 Prophet ( JUST NEXT TO THE " \WINDOWS" FOLDER,
(attachached, pease unzip and copy then paste)
2. UNPLUG YOUR DEVICE from PC,
3. Execute the SPL shortcut IN THE DEVICE, then you see a all bright or white screen,
Then plug back the USB port ( connect to computer) the device, THEN use the Rom Upgrade Utility (RUU) to the rom you like ( all activities can only be seen in the PC screen, nothing will be shown on the prophet....
4. Finally, after 100% ( at 85% may take to wait a bit longer, just be
patient, as it may look like hang for about 2 minutes) just wait, all will went
ok AND OF COURSE, after it auto-restart, ALL will be OKOKOK !!!
( better hard-reset for once more )
You're FANTASTIC and I appreciate YOUR HELP!!! See, you can teach old dogs new tricks!! LOL!!! This is such a GREAT FORUM!! Thanks to everyone that took a look at my posting (or rather my dilemma) and considered a solution! Again MANY THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Greetings,
Any body tried underground WM6 rom with shell tool.
I tried it yesterday but it was not moving ahead of IPL SPL screen.
May be i did something wrong.
Anybody tried.
Thanks
samy download the wizard love rom.
switch off your phone. connect the usb cable , hold the camera button and start it. it will go into bootloader mode where you will see multicoloured screen. run the wizard love rom and you will be able to recover it hopefully.
I installed the Underground ROM fine, but it was the first one I tried and I didn't hard reset my phone correctly so I thought it was screwed up and switched to Orwell's 1984 (with a reflash to Wizard Love in between). I imagine it would've been just as good with a correct hard reset to get rid of all my previous install's junk.
Actually, funky-saggi,
you did not understand i already did that, last nite.
But im asking whether anybody tried shell tool by mun-rus, to flash underground rom.
Thanks.
I am running the underground version having flashed with the shell tool.
Lots better than pdaviet 4 very fast
eddietmen
Greetings,
How did you do that.
When i did it was not moving ahead of ipl spl screen
Can you tell me how did you do that.
Thanks
shell tool
i have also had to revert to the wizard rom as i mucked my phone up if you follow the instructions with the tool it should work
i did have some problems and at one point i copied one of the roms i copied the nk.nbf file from the underground edition to the wizard love dir which overwrited the one in there then flashed it using the wizard bootlooder samething soft reset hold the camera button down just paste the wizard nk.nbf onto your desktop just in case you need to copy it back again because i have given you some noob instruction that muck your phone up and need to reflash the wizard rom back on there

first you should not be in ipl/spl mode read the instructions
boot up mobile to a clean os (wizard love for example)
install the cab files from the shell tool re-boot the device
extract the exe from underground (view hidden files in explorer)
take the nbf file copy to the shell directory then run the tool till it completes(end)
Hard re-boot the device
Calibrate and setup
Voila working
Thanks
thanks eddietmen,
I have got the version worked in my wizard.
I think so to flash a new rom you have to go back to original rom.?
Thanks
shell tool is perfect and you can flash any rom but please read readme very carefully before starting ...
from my experience ...
rapi must be installed on your device then reboot, sync, extarct desired rom and than update.
- cannot update while in tricolor (rapi not active)
- do not panic while flashing before 20 minutes, because there is no sign and no progres indicator (I did panic and almost bricked my wizzard, but flashed with love rom and recovered) don't disconect or interrupt the process...
installed viet4 .. for some connection reason live msn didnt work and relying to some sugestions i flashed to underground... but I'm still facing the same problem...
any trick ?
Greetings,
Install the original rom which the device was shipped with or wizard love.
And then try to flash.
Where can i find the "wizard love rom" ?
cant make my live mail work.
Hi there i have a G4 locked cingular 8125, i just flash it with pdaviet3 ROM and it works just perfect, the onl flaw is that i cant make my live mail (hotmail) work properly, when trying to reply my mail just freeze. At the actuall state of art, If I got it well, ftp site is gone.
So only alternative ways to try... google, emule, torrent...
Last option worked fine for me...
Im sorry guys i have searched around and use different ways but dont know what to do.
Ok firstly tried to give NBD v8.3 a try using the shell flash rom program. Everything was ok until i hard reset and its now stuck on the splash screen. It was on WM6Titanium_Version2 with no problems, i just wanted to try something else out. It is a G4 cid unlocked that is running on ipl 2.21.001 spl 2.21.001. I can get into the bootloader screen but stuck what to do there.
I tried installing wizard love rom again but nothing, i tried splash screen unfreezing but nothing. i tried using tmobile original rom but nothing. Am i doing this wrong. Please help im just frustrated i own a hermes and upgrading its rom is far more easy compared to the wizard.
Thanks for any advice.
If have searched for it ( or even just flipped through the reccent postings in the sub-forums) you would have found:

Sorry to bug you before guys i have succeded to flash it and its all fine all i needed it it was to connect once .
Now if its posible i want to know if there is any article to read about the battery or any soft about it
Thnks again
Mate, install Hard SPL V7 (if you haven't already ) and use the sd card method to install roms...
Go to page 116 post 1160 of this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
for the sd card method to install Hard SPl. To use the sd card method to install a ROM, drop the steps with sspl.exe in them - I believe its steps 5 & 6.
Make sure the sd card is 2 Gb or less, formatted FAT32 and the .nbh file is named hermimg.nbh.
Cheers...
Hi mate
Ok after i flashed in the morning it started working fine for a period of time and then it started the moves again. What it actually does is that the phone is not working the device boots ok with the programs but the phone is not working at all and if it does whene i try to make a call the whole ppc is freezing.
I have tried the hard spl that you provided and i flash it. All ok. Now the problem is that after all the reboots and the freezing to get the phone working the system crash and i tried to flash it again to wm6 the one that i had for over a year now. It reboots the ppc perfectly and i can see in the three color the hard spl ok version 2.10 but when its upgrading to wm6 it freezes to 12%
Any suggestions pls
Thnks a lot
sounds like your radio rom has been corrupted. You can try to flash the shipped stock rom but it may be a permanent brick.
To check, go to settings>system>device info. Check you have a radio rom version and protocol version. If you don't then you have a brick on your hands, sorry...
This seems to be the Achilles heel with the Hermes.
Hi again and i am really sorry to bug you
Here is what i did after trying and messing around with the softwares of the ppc i decided to check for once the hardware like you said about the ratio. I basicly took the whole phone apart to pieces and cleaned it with alcohol and a brush, dodnt know if its the right way but i have to tell you that it worked. It stop give me troble with the phone it starts perfectly and works perfectly except for sometimes that the sigla goes off witch it shoudnt. With the hard spl that you provided it looks a little bit faster too and i am very gradefull.
The thing that remains is that from day one that the problem started the battery witch is new it ends really quick. two days ago before the problem it could last for 2-3 days but now it last bearly for one .
Any suggestions on this?
Thanks for your time.
Just remember that 3G uses a LOT of battery power when in an area that isn't very good for it.
If you flashed a new rom that is using 3G (also check which radio you should be using) and you were using the GSM network before, it could be this that is the problem.
I myself am finding that the battery is going REALLY fast at the moment as I'm working in an area with bad reception. The radio has to work harder to keep signal strength so the battery is consumed fast.
Cheers...
Hi,
Sorry to stat a thread on this but can't find anything similar.
I've flashed a lot of ROM's prior. Thought I was fairly comfortable with it.
Currently, I have EnergyROM 6.5 and wanted to try another.
I can establish the connection with phone/computer (1st beep), then the second beep happens (activesync). Then I run the AthenaWrapper and it starts. It restarts the phone. I hear the first beep but never the second. The progress bar stays at 0% and eventually there is a communication error.
This happens with NATF's 6.5 ROM as well as the stock ATT rom.
Any suggestions on fixing this problem?
PS - the 'contacts' button at the bottom of the home screen... are those remapable? I have a mandatory program (Good Messaging) which has its own contacts program. Once I've installed it, the contacts button goes to it instead of the built-in contacts. That's not what I want.

I had no idea what "Athenawrapper" was until I Googled Athena. The good news is I've solved your problem. The bad news is that you have a PEBCAK
error.
"Athena" is an entirely different piece of hardware from a Raphael , so it's RUU WILL NOT WORK with a Raphael. Frankly, I think you're lucky you didn't succeed in bricking the phone completely. You need to use the RaphaelWrapper to flash a Raphael.
On the off chance that you actually have an Athena, and are trying to flash it with a Raphael ROM, then you're still begging to have your hardware bricked. Most ROMs are not compatible outside of the hardware for which they are written.
You need to:
Figure out what hardware you have.
Go to that bulletin board.
Read the sticky threads there to learn how to flash properly.
Get to work.
Hi,
Well your explanation makes sense... however, the stock ATT ROM I downloaded from the raphael ROM development section and have successfully flashed a prior Fuze with before (I had to return it for warranty). It is the same file that worked then, that is not now.
But it is not working now AFTER I tried the NATF ROM which I'm pretty darn sure I directly downloaded from a link in the Raphael section. Perhaps it was a misguided link or something, and then it damaged the phone such that previously working ROM's now won't flash?
Chris
addendum...I know for sure it was the NATF ROM from Raphael section...
it is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=539513
If you did a HardSPL to load NATF's ROM, then you cannot flash back to the OEM ROM without first removing HardSPL.
So (and this is the second time in as many days ), here's my recommendation:
Myrddin Wyllt said:
Here's my recommended procedure:
Back up your PIM data, if needed.
Remove HardSPL.
Run your service provider's ROM installation.
Install HardSPL.
Download the NATF ROM (YES...DO IT AGAIN)
Flash the ROM.
Hard reset when you get to the screen alignment.
Yes, I know I'm yelling, but that's because you don't appear to be paying attention.
It would also be helpful if you'd put your device info in your user signature.

Re-downloading the NATF ROM ensures that you don't have a corrupted copy.
Myrddin,
Interesting name, how do you pronounce that?
1) I learned from you today about the HardSPL having to be removed. That I did not know, so thank you.
2) Back on the computer I flash with, I confirmed the wrapper files... first line does say Raphael Wrapper, under that it says Athenawrapper, then under that it says LSD creations.
3) I'll assume since you quoted your previous advice, the yelling and not paying attention comments were not directed at me
4) I'll do what you instruct master!
That's why we like the wise sages of the forum!
chris
It's Welsh, and it's pronounced Merlin, most of the time (Merthin is more accurate, though).
No, the yelling was not exactly directed at you, just at newbies everywhere. Take no offense, I merely wanted to place a great deal of emphasis on certain aspects of the process. It helps us help you.
M
Hi,
Well, somehow I managed to get back to the stock ATT Rom. I'm not sure how to remove HardSPL specifically as searching that topic doesn't bring up any specific threads (at least in the Raphael forum).
I thought since I had got the ATT rom to work, I coul ddo a 6.5 ROM, but I'm running into the same communication error I had before.
Very specifically, everything starts up fine. It causes my phone to restart.
The USB connection noise happens, but then I never get the activesync alert noise, so the download indicator stays at 0% and I get a communication error.
If I just plug my phone into the computer, it starts up activesync just fine.
Any suggestions? And if it is HardSPL, where's the instructions to remove that?
Thanks again,
Chris
Well shoot,
It must be my lucky day.. I did find some instructions for hardspl, did that.. and I think things are about to be working...
Nevermind on the last post for now!
chris
Hey everybody,
My phone is stuck in an infinite restart loop when i tried to revert back to the original rom without replacing the hardspl. Is there anything that can be done for that?

Most often this is the result of a bad flash or a corrupt ROM. Try putting the phone in Bootloader mode (see the wiki for instruction), and download the ROM again (delete your old copy to avoid confusion). Try the flash once more, and don't forget to do a hard reset when you get to the screen calibration the first time.
ok. please be gentle.
I got my HD2 2 months ago on Orange from Carphonewarehouse. I am very happy with it though it has needed to be soft reset more and more often in the last couple of weeks.
I dont know anything about flashing or ROM upgrades but hoped that someone would help me improve the performnce of my phone.
When I go to the SW info I have the following:
OS version, 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila version, 2.5.19211619.0
ROM version, 1.66.405.2 (76641) WWE
ROM date, 01/11/10
Radio version, 2.07.51.22_2
Protocol version, 15.32.50.07U
I'm very nervous about flashing etc, but am hoping it will improve performance, if someone will guide me through.
I regularly backup using myPhone and Outlook so am happy to do what it takes.
Thanks.
first try to find the threat of how to put HSPL on your device .. it has a step by step guide
sencond find a Task29 threat and download Task29
third find which ROM you like, my self i prefer Artemis or Miri and Dinik since they are fast and stable
In the ROM threat of your chiose there is a step by step guide how to flash everything
just keep in mind that the best way to do this
- make sure your battery is at least 50% loaded
- install HSPL
- put your phone in bootscrean (first shut it down, hold volume down and hold it while pushing power on) the phone comes up with the hspl bootscreen
- format your SD card
- preform a Task29 and whipe your phone from everything
* note after it finished it boots into a blanc screen this is not bad
* just power down your phone, hold volume down and push power on till the red grean blue HSPL screen
- run the CustomRuu from the directory were your ROM (NHB) file is
- follow the instructions
- your done
now you only have to activate windows myphone and synch your stuff
whatever you do, just remember to read the treads .
i've only had my phone some 4 months and i like you was very unsure about changing the rom and putting HSPL on my phone ( as its not a cheap phone and didnt want to turn it into a paperweight). but everyone on here are very helpfull . and i found it very easy to change the rom and add different things when i read the treads a few times ,as this is my 1st winmo phone.
now i have changed my rom god knows how many times and now i have put one of the android roms on my phone aswell , and my phone couldnt be any better.
as i said before whatever you dicide to do just remember to read the rom treads carefully and do everything they tell you .
good luck
Yeah, what those guys said. And always check what radios are compatible with the ROM you're trying to flash or else you might brick it. Your radio ( 2.07.51.22_2 ) might not work with most ROMs! Usually x.xx.50.xx radios are the best.
I was nervous about my first flash too. But everything went OK and now I've had my HD2 for a couple of week and I have flashed it about 4 times, till I found my kind of ROM (Artemis FTW) Because it is compatible with FpseCE
