Why flash? is it better than my original Norwegian flash that came right from the store? What is new in the ROM: 1.31.707.09 (HTCAsia WEE)?
I flashed the HTCAsia WEE because the Orange ROM I had was too bloated for my liking, kind of ran a little slow. With this ROM I'm finding my device running a bit faster
Ok. But I got the regular rom, not the "orange" one. Would it be any faster or would it be totaly like, just not Norwegian language?

To be honest with you I don't know if it will be any faster, as I reckon your existing ROM maybe same as the HTCAsia WEE but language in Norwegian.
I changed my ROM because from my own personal experience every Orange UK ROM based device I ever owned have always been bloated and sluggish, I don't what S*** Orange put in their ROM that makes them run so slow!!!
Anyways, the only way to see if there is any difference, is for you to flash this ROM but make sure you make a backup of your existing ROM i.e ROM DUMP just in case you want to revert back!
P.S. Did you try the speed reg tweak? that I posted in this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355122
try it out, believe me you'll notice a big jump in performance!!! I used this tweak on my previous Orange ROM and it made a big difference!

Use the kaiser Rom Kitchen Dump, it should work although I have not tried it my self!

Yes and after flashing the asia ROM my dual is a lot more responsive not as bloated as the Orange ROM

but before you flash this rom you need install either HardSPL or USPL look here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355730
Make sure you read the instructions set by jockyw2001 otherwise you may run into trouble i.e. brick your phone!

Sorry to hear that reg tweak didn't work for you!! Just curious are you using the HTC task manager? if so I would recommend you disable that as I find it slows the OS down and use a 3rd party task manager e.g. SPB Pocket Plus or WKTask you can get here: http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask.html
If you set the Cachesettings for Filesystem ... all Apps speed up!

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you on this one NetrunnerAT! yes you can do some reg tweak to improve your existing ROM however, since I flashed this ROM here's are the 3 main things that I have noticed compared to my previous Orange UK ROM:
- more responsive (little faster)
- HTC Weather panel updates automatically, in previous ROM I had to do it manually!
- WMDC Bluetooth Sync more consistent, in previous ROM it worked every now and then, got so frustrated ended up syncing with USB instead!!!
Now I'm not saying this HTCAsia WEE ROM guarantees you improvements over your existing ROM but it's no harm trying! (providing of course you've done a backup of your existing ROM) I personally think anyone with a Orange ROM should see some improvements in fact I was so adamant that I would see some benefits to flashing this ROM that I didn't even bother to do a backup of my bloated Orange ROM need I say more!!

I dont know, what Orange done. If some guys have unbranded ROMs ... they dont need the Asia Rom.

I have bought a SanDisk HCSD 6GB and it won't recognize it as 6GB. It only shows 866MB in the task-manager. In my HTC touch (other device) it recognizes it well.
Can this problem be resolved by updating the Rom to the 10.31.707.09 WEE?

Hi there... how do I disable the htc task manager? Just got my touch dual via TMobile UK not long ago... seems a bit disappointing... with the reaction times between me pushing a button or touching the screen, and the device recognising what i did.
Pretty sure my magician was much more responsive.

Hi, Gullum, how about flash it from the very wm6 operating in your device now^^?
I'm not so sure, but according to Youzii, EVO8 can be flash from WM6 roms directly...^^ (for me, EVO's series never required me to downgread first for flashing it...)
Have you tried toflash in bootloader mode?

EVO's cooking utinity is somewhat different, so users who cannot flash EVO8 please re-flash it again with the "how-to" below:

1.Flash PV_TEMP (download PV_Temp http://tom-love.net/Rom/Prophet/WM6....et_PV_Temp.zip )
2.Install Cert_SPCS.cab、EnableRapi.cab to the wm5 PVTEMP (your ppc). (donwload the two files at the same EVO site)
3.Execute EVO7.part1.exe >> choose upgrade method 3 (No bother to try part 2, double click EVO7.1 Part 1 will do the tricks)
Note: Part 1 and Part 2 are the same file devided into two parts. The former is a self-decompressing file which associates the latter by itself)
4.Wait for 20 mins or so. (or you may like to check PdocWrite out in your PC for time's saving.)
5. 1st device configuration (the first time)
6.Hard-reset (type 1234 on Clear Storage, rather than hold two buttons + the tiny hole pricking, is strongly recommanded).
7. 2nd device configuration (the second time)
8. Start enjoying your "brand-new" device!

I hate to say this, but almost every version of EVO series was and still is the fastest, if not also the most reliable rom comtemporarily....
If it were not true, I shouldn't have endured some Chinese EVOs long before ^^"
Believe it or not -- it only takes 3/4 round to open the Windows file (Resco Explorer, all options of browser crossed off), with its HTCHome installed, Chinese IM settled, dozens of applications activated by shourtcuts created from the SD, and an overclocked 264HMz CPU.
However, every rom shared here are great. Some are good at creativeness, while others richness with a lot of apps.
Many many thinks to Youzii and all rom masters!! Thanks for your sharing!!

Pocket Informant
Great ROM! that is going to be my choose for a long time... But i've found a little problem: Installing Pocket Informant as default PIM cause to change poutlook.lnk at \Windows\Startup. If you then soft-reset, Pocket Informant runs at beggining and my prophet hangs!
Anyway I'm using Pocket Informant, configured as no default PIM...
I'm currently running the DCD 3.3.4 ROM (which runs great, I finally have this device where I want it) and now all i need is the V5 camera. I believe it's from the vogue. Is it just a cab file I can install? I was running SCrossler's R4R ROM and I noticed a difference in image quality with that camera software. I did a quick search but i didn't find what I was looking for.

V5 is a touch version of the camera it is way cooler but does not support the flash

I played with that camera in the loaded R4R rom and i liked it better. The flash isn't useful as anything except a flash light anyway. I just need to figure out where to get the software and how to install it. If it's just a cab I can handle that.

I know your answer is out there, and it is trying to find you. I remember more than one thread discussing the two camera versions. One talented individual was able to make installs of the two so that one camera version could be placed over the top of the other when the first one is installed as part of the ROM. Not an easy process.
If you don't find it searching here in the XDA-Developers - Titan - Upgrade forum, try searching over at ppcgeeks.com.

it was made for the touch so i would be going to that forum and asking in there.... If you use version 3.26 of DCD kitchen it is in there and you can build your roms how you like

Considerations: The Lite version its really clean giving you the opportunity customize your phone installing whatever you want. Do not expect pretty diallers, Dshow, FSP, .... Maybe with your help we can define installation packs.

It seems to be an issue with WM6.5 Flash packages, IE crashes too when there's a flash video on a web page...
I tried to use "old" 21051 packages : browsers don't crash anymore but no animation playing...

Do you mean you see weird icons in Explorer ? (or Total Commander) If so, just replace gwes.exe by 23001 one and everything will be fixed

Hi reverse, this ROM does not have any keyboard installed. You can install the one you need.

Yes actually I found that post one or two weeks ago and sounded really interesting... I tried to put it on my ROM but no luck I was stuck in the boot screen, so I decided to concentrate to have a stable base first. Maybe I'll give it a try again with more time.

I ment I see some strange icons in file explorer, didn't install Total Commander.
About the rom just have one question, when I take a look at settings/system/about it shows CE OS 5.2.23004 (Build 23004.5.3.0) and when i go to settings/system/device information it shows ROM Version: WM6.5-23001 WWE.
Just wondering ?

What kind of memory optimisation do you use ? fsreplxfilt ? PagePool ? I've got about 46 free MB after a soft reset and about 41MB after a day of "normal" use (calls, SMSs, Opera...).

I've started to do a clean base with unwanted services and programs so each one of us can install whatever they want... But anyway this still on test phase (with good results till now ). There are many HTC stuff that I think we do not need if you want an WM6.5 core base.
The page pool I'm using 6Mb for now. More should improve everything but in other hand the number of soft reset may be bigger
fsreplxfilt I think I have 32768.
Just flashed the latest version. Seems really fast! Faster than the other WM6.5 lite versions here..
Just wondering, why does the Messaging app auto appears in the Taskbar after a reboot? I've never seen this before on other WM6.5 ROMs.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't thing any untouched ROM available for TP is out. I thought the cooks had based their work on a rom image for a specified device and each rom for each device was adapted to run on it.

You can always grab Da_G kitchen, follow the steps descibed and make a clean rom. It 's an easy step by step procedure. I have done it before even I 'm not a "chef".

* O * M * G * !!! I totally just cooked my own ROM! LOL! Flashing as we speak, thank you for that suggestion, that WAS really easy. Now to see just how "original" I made it, since I didn't know what 3/4 of the stuff I was selecting/unselecting are.
EDIT: Works great! But hm! Seems everything but the camera and Smart touch are working.
Good to hear that worked for you. As far as the camera problem, maybe you left out something when cooking. For the smart touch you can use

did you hard reset after flash???
the memory card shouldnt be a problem since the shortcuts are all in device!
Did you flash it from memory card or from pc??
Thats strange...but if the fault is mine i´m sorry, i´ve been using this rom for a months now and havent had any errors or bugs!

newest hard-spl...
no hard reset... couldn't open anything with sd card inside..
flashed it from pc... like all my roms..
but got it to work with active sync after i removed the sd card and doing a soft reset..
then i flashed a new one..
No problems here
I just had to verify that it couldn't be as bad as the above stated..
HardSPL 2.51 flashed from SDCARD.. worked like a charm.. quick and fast.
Will take the opportunity to go through this rom later.
I am at the moment very satisfied with the Energy Rom from 11 June

It appears you´re the only one with the bug so far , i have three friends with topazs i flash them today and no problems either, maybe your memory card is incompatable or the drivers for it isn´t in the rom...sorry bad luck!!!

Just flashed, runs like a champ. Must have been an isolated issue with the other user. Great speed/stability so far!
Do you know if native VOIP support is present in the rom?

No its not present,but it can be aranged, i´m uploading right now the same rom with the native voip on it!
click on download2 and follow the instructions!
the file is by the name RUU_Signed_0409_Voip_on.nbh
i like this rom really nice job no bugs so far and one thing i like a lot is my phone signal here in the uk seems to be much more stable than any other rom i have used, do you know why this may be would be interesting to find out. cheers for this rom love it

Well if you´re signal improved must be related with the radio you´re using and in combination with the version of the packs in the rom, cause i´ve done minimal tweaks, the normal that almost everyone does!

you are right seems to be a problem with youtube app, i´ll chek it out later!
if u don´t want to use Androkkid, there are two ways, go to "\\program files\"
delete folder Androkkid, next go to \\windows\startup\ , and \\windows\start menu\programs\ and delete Androkkid.lnk !
The other way is just to delete the \\windows\startup\Androkkid.lnk , it will prevent the program to run on start up!
