Why flash? is it better than my original Norwegian flash that came right from the store? What is new in the ROM: 1.31.707.09 (HTCAsia WEE)?
I flashed the HTCAsia WEE because the Orange ROM I had was too bloated for my liking, kind of ran a little slow. With this ROM I'm finding my device running a bit faster
Ok. But I got the regular rom, not the "orange" one. Would it be any faster or would it be totaly like, just not Norwegian language?

To be honest with you I don't know if it will be any faster, as I reckon your existing ROM maybe same as the HTCAsia WEE but language in Norwegian.
I changed my ROM because from my own personal experience every Orange UK ROM based device I ever owned have always been bloated and sluggish, I don't what S*** Orange put in their ROM that makes them run so slow!!!
Anyways, the only way to see if there is any difference, is for you to flash this ROM but make sure you make a backup of your existing ROM i.e ROM DUMP just in case you want to revert back!
P.S. Did you try the speed reg tweak? that I posted in this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355122
try it out, believe me you'll notice a big jump in performance!!! I used this tweak on my previous Orange ROM and it made a big difference!

Use the kaiser Rom Kitchen Dump, it should work although I have not tried it my self!

I am correct in assuming you have a uk orange branded touch dual, and if so have you noticed a big difference after flashing the asia rom

Yes and after flashing the asia ROM my dual is a lot more responsive not as bloated as the Orange ROM

but before you flash this rom you need install either HardSPL or USPL look here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355730
Make sure you read the instructions set by jockyw2001 otherwise you may run into trouble i.e. brick your phone!

It have only few improvments. Its better you make some registry mods.

Sorry to hear that reg tweak didn't work for you!! Just curious are you using the HTC task manager? if so I would recommend you disable that as I find it slows the OS down and use a 3rd party task manager e.g. SPB Pocket Plus or WKTask you can get here: http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask.html
If you set the Cachesettings for Filesystem ... all Apps speed up!

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you on this one NetrunnerAT! yes you can do some reg tweak to improve your existing ROM however, since I flashed this ROM here's are the 3 main things that I have noticed compared to my previous Orange UK ROM:
- more responsive (little faster)
- HTC Weather panel updates automatically, in previous ROM I had to do it manually!
- WMDC Bluetooth Sync more consistent, in previous ROM it worked every now and then, got so frustrated ended up syncing with USB instead!!!
Now I'm not saying this HTCAsia WEE ROM guarantees you improvements over your existing ROM but it's no harm trying! (providing of course you've done a backup of your existing ROM) I personally think anyone with a Orange ROM should see some improvements in fact I was so adamant that I would see some benefits to flashing this ROM that I didn't even bother to do a backup of my bloated Orange ROM need I say more!!

I dont know, what Orange done. If some guys have unbranded ROMs ... they dont need the Asia Rom.

I have bought a SanDisk HCSD 6GB and it won't recognize it as 6GB. It only shows 866MB in the task-manager. In my HTC touch (other device) it recognizes it well.
Can this problem be resolved by updating the Rom to the 10.31.707.09 WEE?

Hi there... how do I disable the htc task manager? Just got my touch dual via TMobile UK not long ago... seems a bit disappointing... with the reaction times between me pushing a button or touching the screen, and the device recognising what i did.
Pretty sure my magician was much more responsive.

Thanks for the links. I have read the cooking instruction from there and the main kitchen place. I dont think i am capable... I am just gona keep using your "Clean ROM" install a bunch of useful apps i need and then perform a backup using spb backup to create a stand-alone restore file to run after a hard-reset.

I installed this rom but it would intermittently hang/freeze after a reset. Take out the battery and reset fine, but lost the clock/time setting this way.
Ended up revert back to your earlier "clean ROM" which work great and I had SPB mobile shell install with diamond v1.2 option C skin. I like Jaime's ROM but it takes up quite abit of memory and a little slow to run program.. this option works great for me..
could other poeple who tried this ROM let me know how they went?
The ROM is fast and very cool looking - except for the error said above.

ncp76, did u install other software if yes please name them as I am using the ROM since 2 Oct 2008 once I prepared it but still have not seen any freezes. Waiting for ur reply.

Once again thanks for a nice ROM.
Same with ncp76 it freeze after a reset.. Same issue with Jaime's touchFLO 20755.
I Thought something wrong with my pda but I've tried TJ's rom 19213 works ok.

Have Your Tried A2DP Wireles Stereo with this ROM? downloading know to try Your solution, even thought Jaime´s Rom looks so nice.... So far it seems that Crystal Touchy have worked very fine to me...

Program i installed are: Garmin mobile XT v.50, SPB weather, SPB mobile shell v2.1, resco explorer 2008, lingvosoft dictionary resco brain game, bust'em game.
I tried just install your rom without any app install and it was doing the same, so I doubt the cause was because of installed apps.
I wonder if there is some minor (but critical) step that we did differently to get this fault.... because the Chateux ROM i tried after jaime ROM was working flawless once was giving me similar problem when i flash it the second and third times.... and that why i ended up flashing your previous "clean ROM"... which is now working flawlessly...
Would you be so kind to reflash your A.E a few times with this ROM to see if it work every times? And would it be possible to make a utube of your process so we can follow it to the "letter"....???? Big ask! I khow, but you and Jaime are our Atom's GODs

Sorry for the delay, but after flashing 3 times still no prob . OK what I will do is cook another ROM with the same structure as that of 213 clean rom. But give me 2-3 days OK.

Last nite, I am just flash to ROM and have a test, I met the same problem as ncp76, I din install anything, just press the soft reset button, then the phone hang on the startup screen.
Besides, I have tested Bluetooth headset, problem that ringtone notification auto become silent.
I'm currently running the DCD 3.3.4 ROM (which runs great, I finally have this device where I want it) and now all i need is the V5 camera. I believe it's from the vogue. Is it just a cab file I can install? I was running SCrossler's R4R ROM and I noticed a difference in image quality with that camera software. I did a quick search but i didn't find what I was looking for.

V5 is a touch version of the camera it is way cooler but does not support the flash

I played with that camera in the loaded R4R rom and i liked it better. The flash isn't useful as anything except a flash light anyway. I just need to figure out where to get the software and how to install it. If it's just a cab I can handle that.

I know your answer is out there, and it is trying to find you. I remember more than one thread discussing the two camera versions. One talented individual was able to make installs of the two so that one camera version could be placed over the top of the other when the first one is installed as part of the ROM. Not an easy process.
If you don't find it searching here in the XDA-Developers - Titan - Upgrade forum, try searching over at ppcgeeks.com.

it was made for the touch so i would be going to that forum and asking in there.... If you use version 3.26 of DCD kitchen it is in there and you can build your roms how you like

no hard reset... couldn't open anything with sd card inside..
flashed it from pc... like all my roms..
but got it to work with active sync after i removed the sd card and doing a soft reset..
then i flashed a new one..
No problems here
I just had to verify that it couldn't be as bad as the above stated..
HardSPL 2.51 flashed from SDCARD.. worked like a charm.. quick and fast.
Will take the opportunity to go through this rom later.
I am at the moment very satisfied with the Energy Rom from 11 June

It appears you´re the only one with the bug so far , i have three friends with topazs i flash them today and no problems either, maybe your memory card is incompatable or the drivers for it isn´t in the rom...sorry bad luck!!!

No its not present,but it can be aranged, i´m uploading right now the same rom with the native voip on it!
click on download2 and follow the instructions!
the file is by the name RUU_Signed_0409_Voip_on.nbh
i like this rom really nice job no bugs so far and one thing i like a lot is my phone signal here in the uk seems to be much more stable than any other rom i have used, do you know why this may be would be interesting to find out. cheers for this rom love it

Well if you´re signal improved must be related with the radio you´re using and in combination with the version of the packs in the rom, cause i´ve done minimal tweaks, the normal that almost everyone does!

you are right seems to be a problem with youtube app, i´ll chek it out later!
if u don´t want to use Androkkid, there are two ways, go to "\\program files\"
delete folder Androkkid, next go to \\windows\startup\ , and \\windows\start menu\programs\ and delete Androkkid.lnk !
The other way is just to delete the \\windows\startup\Androkkid.lnk , it will prevent the program to run on start up!

If we want to create working rom we should know which files from the original ROM are the drivers so we can take them and try to put them in the custom rom.Otherwise froyo will not be able to interact with our specific hardware.
you can ask some one more experians in custom roms so he could recognise the drivers
even if he don't have x8
remember: just ask for help , dont be rude and ask for custom rom

any updates about the custom 2.2 froyo rom ?
now a little bit work, but just some minutes, and it says system is not responding and restart, but not full restart, just it get to the boot animation and then start.
the first step: i have to make it work, patches and drivers the second step. i tryed much thing to get working it, and i am sure i am not as far as i was.
I really hope that you will get this running because as it seams this will be the only way to get Froyo or Gingerbread on our X8.
Hope you will make this works. And if I can help with something let me know.

Maybe it's power managment, display, or some other driver problem? Or kernel?
