Does anybody out there know what may be wrong with my wee Wallaby? The battery fuse is gone, so i've jumpered it out but despite the battery voltage being 3.5v the unit wont start at all. It doesn't respond to any reset and I cant get it to enter bootloader mode. Any info would be appreciated, i'm an electronic engineer and noticed there are quite a lot components involved in the battery circuit.
Thanks.
Buy a replacement on ebay for 10 us . LOL Upgrade your wallaby its olddddddddddd
Yeah, i've ordered one already! I was unsure though if this was going to be a waste of cash. A whole £13! I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks for the reply.
I think you have probably fried the logic on the battery. As for upgrading, I think the Wallaby is the best value pda/phone available anywhere.
Hi there,
Got my new battery and low and behold it has brought my Wee Wallby back from the grave! The battery IC's must have been faulty, there's five pins on the circuit board for the motherboard to connect to so I reckon the battery logic is quite sophisticated.
Thanks for the help guys, I tried O2 in Glasgow but they didn't want to help at all unless the XDA was a warranty job.
I've also upgraded my ROM to the one and only XDA Developers special and I have to say it's a real improvement all round.
Goodnight gadget lovers!
Hey guys i want to know that what are the main symptoms of X10 faulty battery so that we should buy a new one ?
Dear friends!
Who can tell where can I buy a battery HB3G1H for our device.
The only store where you do have
item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=16477956928&
But unfortunately it is only available in China.
As far as I know is not very difficult to replace the battery. Namely, you have to remove the two plugs, unscrew the six screws and remove the back cover.
But unfortunately find a battery is not easy. For example, on ebay this item is missing.
Sorry for the off topic, but can you post a guide on how to disassemble the device?
seeing your post made me wonder where I will get a replacement in the event that my mediapad's battery die as well. All search pointed to that taobao site as well but I saw on another search result:
h**p://w*w dotblog4battery dot com/blog/744158-barnes-noble-nook-tablet-battery-nookcolor-dr-nk02/
It is B&N Nook tablet's battery and they somehow of the same specs. not sure of the dimension and the connector but other than that I think if you can't find an exact replacement, this could come in handy as long as it fits. replacing the connector is really easy.
Unfortunately, at this time the exact instructions for disassembling our Tablet is missing. There are some photos on disassembly
ttp://w...w.wirelessgoodness.com/2011/12/13/huaweis-mediapad-gets-an-fcc-teardown-appears-headed-to-att/
On Russian forum 4pda.ru there is a some short howto that I described. Namely, you have to remove the two plugs. The first plug closes the memory card and SIM card. The second plug is where the camera. Under each plug are three screws. You have to unscrew them. Next, carefully remove the back cover, press the six latches with a thin and stiff plastic card. Under the back cover is the battery.
Anyone find any where to sell battery HB3G1H , please let's me know, thank you

I didn't buy the battery but I did buy other stuff from the site. I get the item from around 2 weeks to a month. When buying from China, the longest I have to wait for the item to arrive is around 1.5 month. But for my understanding, the delay is mostly from my country custom part.
And you should learn how to read. Try read his post again and again and then again.
It seems that Mediapad battery is not available at buychina anymore?
Is there anyone who bought in any other on line store ?
I checked also the other web sellers listed above, but Mediapad batteries are not available.
Thanks !!

Anyone bought from either of these 2 sellers? My MediaPad battery is as good as gone. It can go from 50% to 1% in a few mins, so I need to buy a replacement fast. The first one looks like OEM battery, and 2nd one Huawei original.
Received new battery today!

So I bought one battery from the latter link and received it today. I had to do a customs declaration, since the customs didn't beleive, that the battery was that cheap. Moreso that I received TWO instead of the ordered ONE battery !
The batteries look new and unused to me, although on comparison with the built in battery, which has a manufacturing date 2011-09, the sent batteries were manufactured 2011-05 and have a lower serial number as well. So contrary to the battery shown in the product picture, which has a manufacturing date 2011-11, the ones I received are half a year older.
I do hope, that the natural decay of LIPO batteries does not occure within short months time.
Right now I am charging the first new battery. I'll see, how it works soon and keep you posted.

@Hugo
I would be curious about the results :fingers-crossed:
Thanks!

anybody got new battery in europe?
is battery from mediapad lite compatible with our device?
it is HB3G1 and our is HB3G1H
here is image of lite's battery, it has the same specs, I'm going to buy it, will it work in our device?
I got it today and it is the same as our device's one, manufacturing date is September 2012
I got my tab 1 year ago and now I have an issue with the battery...
I've got the problem 4 days in a row...
The battery drop to 1-3% in 1 sec.. most of time, it is when I am under 50%
here is an example (french version - 3.1 honeycomb)
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/7580/sc20120624194443.jpg
Sometime, after a reboot, it can move up..(like in the picture) but most of time not...However the tab will stay on 1-3% for a very long time...
do you think it is a defective battery ?
I just reinstalled the tab 2-3 weeks ago (stock), I could do it again if I think it is not hardware related...
I don't think it is a calibration issue, because the battery discharge seems fine
(until it drops suddenly to 2%)
what do you think ?
I don't have a tab 10.1 yet but I am planning to buy the rumored note 10.1. The problem for your battery is a well known problem on the old Galaxy Tab 7 P1000. When the battery drops to about 50%-60%, it would suddenly power off because the battery power is exhausted. Replacing a new battery by Samsung solves the problem. I would suggest send it back to Samsung so that your 10.1 could be thoroughly examined.
Thank you for your answer, 10 days with the problem now...
I think you are right, the battery is dying.
I'm buying a new battery on Ebay for 38 $ :good:

Yes, I already had to change a damaged digitalizer on my tab many months ago,
It's easy to open, and you have to remove 3 cables, and the battery is there, easy to replace.
The only challenge is to put back correctly all the cables... it's harder than it seems and if it not correctly connected, the screen will stay black or the touchscreen won't work.
Here is a video to show you the inside : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogVhYYakE6A
whoa... i don't think that's such an easy replace at all. i would need that plastic prying tool. what is the challenge of putting back the cables, is it like hard to aim for it to insert back to the slot? too soft to insert to the slot?

After viewing again the youtube video (with 1080p resolution) it seems there is a little clip that allow to put back the cable without difficulty..
I should look at this, the next time I need to open the box
Found temprory solution without changing battery
I got this problem of sudden drop of battery after flashing custom roms. So i unrooted my device but the problem still prevailed.
Solution i found was quite easy and useful. Drain tab's battery completely with "Auto brightness option selected". Then charge it without switching it on. After its charged switch it on and use. Battery wont drop drop and will give proper output.
NOTE: 1. Dont use customised brightness or else same problem will start again,,,, instead use auto brightness
2. I have found this solution on unrooted device so cant tell if this will work on rooted devices or not.
Hello guys,
Please tell me if my Z2 discharge current is to much. Because I think there is something off. (It reaches 1.4 A sometimes)
Check the picture in the attachments.
Considering the Z2 was released over 3 years ago I'd say if yours is over 2 years old then the battery is the first thing I would consider as being faulty.
You can get a cheap "pulled" (from a returned device) battery on eBay, just ask the seller for the date code on the rear and obtain one with the most recent date.
