What kind XDA2 do you have? I've had the same problem with mine. I've contacted iMATE tech support and sent it for repair. It already arrived in Dubai and I hope that it will be fixed or replaced soon.

Hei... Which SOLUTION did you USE? If it's SOLUTION 1, what version of BOOTLOADER did the WORKING XDA have? And if it's SOLUTION 2, what version of BOOTLOADER did the WORKING XDA have? Because i already try it with the working xda, but it has the 1.02 bootloader. Have to be EXACTLY the same, maybe??

Success reupgrade dead XDAII
hi All!
I had the same problem after upgrading to 1.72, tested every thing mention in this forum, changing pda, SD card etc...
Whats has work now was I gave up let dry out on battery for 1-2 days, it was locked in booloader mode, ver 1.06.
Hardreset
Placed the device in the cradle, first red light, and as soon USB was seen on the screen started upgrade, with the already extracted himalyaupgrade.exe, the upgrade program did not show the model id error as I have seen at least hundred times before, just passed through every step!!!
The only crazy thing was that I used by a coincidence ROM 1.72 again.
But my unit works again. So if you have done every scientific way, test to let it drain out completly 1-2 days.
Regards,
nilron
I guess it's because your BOOTLOADER version. But it's worth to try. Thanks man.
Hello
Please help me.
As it is possible to install ROM 1.72 from T-Mobile on O2 (MDA II)
Yes you can. You need to use the ER2003 prgram (extended rom editor) to change operator name from T-Mobile to O2. Use search function if you have not used ER2003 before. Follow the instruction to carry out.
Please notice that there're some problems people met when upgrading to 1.72 Beta version. Be sure that you understand all procedure before carry out.
My IMATE is now ROM 1.72 run smoothly, stable (for 2 weeks). I've just upgraded my friend's O2II.

Yes. Are you just saying that, or have you got inside information? Just remember there has been one Rom upgrade (1.66) already which never saw the light of day from O2.

Where are the ROMs in T-Mobile site?
Please can anyone tell where are the upgrade roms in t-mobile site or on another site. Thanks
HTC is new in South Africa and have also just posted a new Rom for the TyTN. The details are as follows:
Rom Version: 1.18.416.1
Rom Date: 07/22/06
Radio Version: 1.14.00.10
Protocol Version: 32.50.7018.00H
ExtRom Version: 1.18.416.101
I downloaded last night and set it up today.
The issue I had with my Storage card dissapearing in the Media Player is now resolved. (posted on the Forum and received a temp. fix) I notice the MP is now version 10.2 and the MSSDATA ? file is gone for good.
So far I can't find any issues!
This is an English version
Help I don't know how to load the file onto the Forum. The file is about 47mb large. Pse tell me how and where in laymans terms.
MODERATOR EDIT: Uploaded to XDA-Developers ftp, and posted into wiki, download here: Hermes shipped complete updates
Be careful, this rom has bootloader 1.06!

You have to upload the file here:
ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/Hermes/Shipped_Complete_Updates/
You can use any ftp program for example filezilla, with this info:
SERVER: ftp.xda-developers.com
USERNAME: xdaupload
PASSWORD: xda
FOLDER: /Hermes/Shipped_Complete_Updates/
Anyone with a south african phone number can register here and post the rom on xda-dev ftp?
Cingular 1.31 has WM 10.3
Cingular 1.31 is AKU 2.6, so this confirms the HTC 1.18.416.1 rom will still be an AKU 2.3.

Pof thanks for the informatiom on the ftp site.
I downloaded filezilla and posted the file on the xda ftp site today.
Unfortunately I don't know if I posted to the right Hermes folder. If not please fix for me.
Sorry about the delay but I use a cellular connection and our tower lost it's 3G/HSPDA capability. This is being sent from our holiday home in Ballito, RSA.
Let me know what u think of the upgrade.
It has fixed my MP3 problem and I have no further issues with my phone.

Hello Pof,
Please give me a step by step approach to using filezilla - I think I messed up although I got a completed message at the end.
Thanks
As a point of interest, where did u find it?
Want to learn, and not by too many mistakes.
Thanks
No problem basilrsa, you did it right!! I was so dumb that checked all subfolders but not the root folder, and it was there, i'm downloading right now, will post on the wiki soon.
EDIT: Posted on the wiki! Thanks basilrsa
Are there any special considerations when upgrading to this (apart form following the FAQs generally)?
Also, does it address the BT issues? Any general advice/feedback appreciated.

It has bootloader 1.06 which does check the CID when you flash a ROM, if you plan to flash other ROMs not matching your CID in the future you should CID-unlock your device before flashing a ROM with bootloader 1.06.
I installed this ROM on my HTC TyTN, which I bought end of July, i.e. one of the first available devices. It works OK, no problems with installation, everything is done automaticly after starting the *.exe file on PC with explanation step-by-step what to do.

If your bootloader version is 1.04 you should better CID-unlock it first, after CID-unlocking you can flash it safely.

Enter bootloader mode on your Phone. To do this, simultaneously hold side OK and POWER buttons together and reset with stylus.
When you are on the tri-color screen check the number after SPL-X.XX

Has anyone dissected this ROM yet to see what has changed beyond the obvious ?

Sorry to ask again, but doing this bootloader mode thing WILL NOT delete any
thing that I have on the phone, right ? To exit the boot loader, just turn the
phone off ? "reset with stylus" - you stick the stylus into the small hole next to the USB socket?
Thanks again,
Ken

I tried the Indian (SEA-English) version of the ROM. I dont see any difference in the ROM. Also I see that the Rom Version is lower than what we had before.
CE OS 5.2.1437 (Build 17944.0.3.1)
ROM Version : 2.19.707.4
ROM Date : 07/06/07
Radio Version : 1.45.00.10
Protocol Version: 32.78.7020.19H
ExtROM Version : 2.19.707.101
Is this worth the upgrade
has anyone seen any noticable difference in this rom prior to our sources rom before
Stuck On Boot Loader
Can you guys help me out, I was not able to do the upgrade because I git the error "invalid vender id". I read NOW that I need to unlock the cid first? I was trying to do so but I cannot get out off the screen that says SERIAL.
I tired a hard reset and it still goes to the same screen. Is there something else I can do??
Is the windows live working in this new version?
To Jasjarman:
i think u need to flash the right version for yr model if u haven't unlock cid.
so try to flash back the right ROM.
Thanks royalman, I finally got it out of the bootloader but now I cannot get it to do the automatic cid unlock. It freezes the x7500 when I run the SSPL-HERM. Am I using the wrong unlocker program> I downloade the Hard-SPL(2).zip but like I said it freezes. When I skip the SSPL-HERM file and go straight to the unlock app it does unlock the cid. Than I wait 10sec and soft reset. Than I try to install w6 and I STILL get the error "INVALID VENDER ID"
What am I doing wrong?
Okay I Found The Athena Unlocker.
Anyone now that bthis versions work with BBC 4??????
Got it working now,it's at 5 percent.
I ran into the same situation two weeks ago and the way out is to winrar the exe file and, while in the bootloader, use the update file for the ROM you previously had.
