Hi there, i have a situation that happened to my s200/G4 when i've tryed to update:
First i've updated IPL to 2.20 and it went ok showing on the device IPL 2.20.0001. Then when i've tryed to update SPL to 2.20 also and here the problem acoured. in the end it showed ok but when it rebooted it showed IPL 2020.0001 and SPL 2.20 and nothing else...... after this the s200 always stops at the bootloader screen. I'v tryed the hard reset, soft reset, latest i'v tryed the ppc charge trick(cut wires, etc...) i can even put the s200 discovered in the pc as a usb htc device(bootloader) but when i try to update to a new rom or anything the update program (always used g4 software and confirmed that it is a g4 ppc before update) it says that it can not communicate with the device....?!?!?
well, the device is showing in the device manager as a usb ppc device.
i don't know what to do more.
since he is connecting to the pc, how can i force him to accept any firm?
really this is a complicated situation to me since i am a beginner.
If anyone can help me please do. I would apreciate it.

Try Soft SPL
Instead of hard SPL, why don't you try just Soft SPL?
Search the Soft SPL thread, copy the 3 files to your Prophet root (\) dir and execute the SPL link, answer YES to the Program Executing Firewall if it pop up.
You'll need some WM5/6 to be able to operate the Prophet in order to do this, I went from the BootLoader directly to PDAViet Step 1 Temp WM5, after it ask me to tap the sreen to begin to use the device, I follow all the steps in order to have a WM operative, then use ActiveSync to Explore and copy Soft SPL to root dir.
After this, execute Soft SPL from your pocket, a blank screen will came. Press the Camera Button (Just in case), the Execute "ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G3.exe" or G4 equivalent from your nk.nbf preferred WM6 ROM.
Some time you'll have to unlplug the PDA and plug it again so the update to WM5 PDAViet Temp to begin without the "PDA not connected error", please, be advice that Activisync will be disable during this Bootloader stage, I mean, It will not sincro nor anything, but you'll still be able to update to Step 1 WM5.
You haven't actually done HardSPL right. Not an expert so I can't help you do it, there are guides on this forum though. But your IPL wont show 2.20.0001 ... it will have something with G4 in the middle. Sorry I can't be more specific, I only fixed this on my phone last night.

When I reboot with Camera and Power I see the USB symbol and I head windows finding the device. Active Sync Installed with USB disabled.
I open command prompt and navigate to the G4 HardSPL directory and run HardSPL.bat.
The utility asks me to press a key, I press a key,
after about 5 seconds a dialog box appears, telling me failed to connect to device , trey , cancel abort.
What's missing here?

Connect your device to the usb port then go to HardSPL folder and run HardSPL.bat from your PC. (Thanks to Prislav)
The HardSPL.bat will perform the SoftSPL first and then will do the HardSPL. so you don't have to do the SoftSPL manually.
Before doing the HardSPL you should know:
* SPL - Second Program Loader is a boot loader. SPL is similar to a BIOS in a computer and can be flashed and updated.
* G3 or G4: If you soft reset your phone you will see four numbers on top left of the screen. The first one is IPL version. which has this format : #.##.000# the last digit of IPL version indicates if the device is G3 or G4. the G4 device IPL version will end with 0001 and the G3 device IPL version will end with 0000. for example if your device is G4 you might see something like: 2.20.0001
* the reason we HardSPL the phone is that the original SPL that comes with the phone check the CID

If the device is stuck in bootloader, try flashing a WM5 ROM (some on the ftp server) with USB in active sync disabled, and then try HardSPL once the device is running properly.

Can anyone please post a guide on how to flash Hard-SPL onto my HTC TYTN.
The guide for installing Hard-SPL onto the HERMES is not available anymore, and i am EXTREMELY confused about what im doing, and i am afraid i will brick my phone if i do something wrong.

It really isn't hard to do. But be sure you know what you are doing btw. SO read the sticky!
Basically you just download the flavor of Hard SPL you want (I used 2.10 which I can recommend, very easy to downgrade to factory SPL again as I just learned!).
After download unzip the folder and run the RUUWrapper. Follow instructions exactly, do nout unplug your device etc. and it should work like a charm. It takes about 1 minute!
If you don't know what you are doing or you are still doubting, wait for Mr Vanx site to come online again or don't flash. There is always a risk you screw up and end with a $500 brick.
So use at your own risk!

hi guys have tried to update mine today on a jasjam it connects sys it updating but starts at 0% then just jumps to 100% and says flash finished but when i restart the phone it still has the same loader what am i doing wrong i want to update it from windows 5 to windows 6 using crc-9 but don't want to update till i do the loader any help from you guys would be great

start the device in bootloader, what is displayed?
Mine is doing the exact same thing. Starts at 0% and jumps to 100% and says it is done, but it has done nothing.

the SPL flash is VERY quick.
I'll ask YOU this aswell, put your device into bootloader mode and tell us what it says.

thanks for your reply after checking the bootloader it has changed to 2.10 olie it did it so fast i thought it had failed will check properly next time and have successfully flashed it to crc 9 and it runs great thanks for all the help

I appreciate your reply Mr. Vanx. Same as with puca, I put my phone into the bootloader mode and it does indeed show the correct 2.10 Olipro version. This is the 3rd 8525 I have had and I could have SWORN it took much longer on the first 2. Even the update from WM5 to WM6 seemed to take much less time with this particular phone. Guess I shouldn't really complain
Downgrade Error 260
Hi Mr Vanx I have followed your guide to downgrade my current SSPL (2.10 Olipro) to SSPL (1.11). But I keep getting error 260. I have followed guide step by step.
I have even tried flashing from SD-Card (by renaming to HERMING.nbh). Process runs successfully, but nothing happens.
Its still showing SSPL-2.10 Olipro in bootloader. Am I missing anything?

can some one point me to the guide. I am facing a NO GSM problem on vodafone VPA 1605 with following config:
ROM Version: 1.20.161.6
Radio: 1.03.06.00
CID: VODAP001
Bootloader: 1.04
I do not see the radio version or the IMEI. So I would like to do a HARDSPLv7 followed by Radio ROM update to 1.06.00.10. I hope this will work. Seniors may help with their sggestion.

I have an I-mate 9502 but my problem is for pocket pc generaly.
I installed a program for sound, When I do a soft reset it hangs on Blue Imate page and didn't boot.
I tried to hard reset but it dosen't worked too(I know hard reset of it, is Green+FN+Power button) but it don't work, Also I tried to install a fresh Rom but it need to loud windows.
Please help how to hard reset it.

After Flashed with the new ROM, My Device is now stuck in iMate Blue Screen Logo....!!!
But Don't worry Guys...it can be solved with manually hard Reset...
1. Remove battery and reinsert (to make sure the phone is off).
2. Hold down Fn and the Green button (with the phone icon on it) and press the power button.
3. You will see the white hard reset option screen almost immediately. Press the Left Soft Key to hard reset.

hi all, hope someone can help, been reading threads for days and this is about my fifth xda so i'm no newb.
it's an i-mate jamin i got for my father, ipl/spl 2.13.0001 (G4) bought second hand from ebay, seems to work fine running wm5 os 2.13 but won't send text messages, didn't think much of it since i was planning to upgrade to wm6.1, unfortunately NO KNOWN METHOD WORKS.
Here's what i've tried:
Two different windows xp computers, two different cables, re-install activesync, hard reset, multiple connection retries.
PDAViet temp step 1 from OS and Bootload, most common error is [264], tried NVID wm5, tried official IPL 2.20.0001 upgrade and official i-mate ROM, tried jump/soft/hard SPL, all go to white bootload screen but no further, sometimes the green LED will flash as a radio signal on this white screen but usually nothing.
It seems very much to me like the bootloader is not responding, can someone please tell me when you put the phone in the bootloader and plug the usb cable in, after it has said USB, if you then unplug the cable should the USB text dissapear? because on mine it remains..
when running hardspl.bat the only error on the script is;
cerun: program could not execute (0), after trying to run jumpspl, altho it DOES go into the white screen and just sit there, yes i've tried pressing the camera button.
I'm fresh out of ideas here! help please!
when i run Prophet_G4_IPL_v2.20.0001.exe after a hard reset (sticks on bootloader and give [264]) but before that it says upgrade from 1.2.0.0 to 2.20.
That first number doesn't seem right? is it possible the previous owner flashed a G4 ipl onto a G3 device? and how would I tell?

Hello haveri,
what ROM are you trying to start? I was stuck on HTC logo too, when I tried to start a ROM without installing Striped ROM first, which was highly needed. So I done hard reset(three color screen), and flashed again.
For starters, put in bootloader, connect to PC (1st untick "Allow USB Connections" in activesync) and run Hard SPL V7. Install it on your Herms and hope it works because otherwise you are in for a whole heap of hairpulling frustration...
If you get Hard SPL onto your Hermes then use the sd card method to flash a new rom...
You could have avoided this by doing a little research instead of going full pelt into flashing, you Hard SPL BEFORE you get into trouble, NOT AFTER....

I have a similar problem with a T-Mobile branded TyTn from a friend of mine who thought flashing ROMs without putting device into HardSPL would be clever.
The devices has also IPL-1.04 and SPL-2.03 and from the bootscreen it looks like WM5 should have been installed. I also get the "NO GSM" message and I REALLY tried every fking method but without success.
I even created a Goldcard (and verified on another device it's working, level 0 instead FF) and tried to flash several ROMs (also Cingular WM5 ROM and original german T-Mobile ROM) but no luck.
I also tried to run HardSPL V7 but as far as I remember it just said it cannot connect.
Funny thing: HardSPL V9 DOES start flashing and on the PDA and the PC the bar shows 100% but some moments later it says "Could not update" (or something like that).
I even tried different mtty methods from several posts from the forum (erasing the NAND on different ways, qtek loader method with erasing the first blocks) but I'm really really frustrated now and I believe there is no solution here?! (device has no guarentee)
So, if someone has ANY hint or useful information write it down or send me a PM.
I gladly appreciate your help and hope for a solution!

Everything was going perfect and the installation advanced without any problems, but at the end my Jamin was stuck in the three color screen, showing only the following words:

I tried to hold the Comm Manager and Soft Reset buttons as this topic recommends, but the phone gets back to the 3 color screen again, and no success...
I tried to pull out and reinsert the battery, also no success...
Please help me, this is my friend's phone! I AM SO NERVOUS and I may kill somebody!

Please don't panic! If you see when connect the phone to the computer and USB message on the bottom of prophet screen update is posible. So try to put original WM5 on the phone. Read dioxda2 post for more. For sure you don't hardspl your phone before flashing....

Thank you very much, my problem solved using the WM5 flashing process.
I thought it's impossible to get the phone connected to PC because activesync wasn't establishing a connection to the phone, but obviously I was wrong.
After flashing WM5, I performed a HSPL on the phone, and then used the file again, and the phone was upgraded to WM 6.5 with no problem.
I previously had downloaded your 6.5 ROM from a crappy forum, which was only including a download link and some useless info, and since I was a newbie myself D), I didn't even know that I should have performed a HSPL before upgrading the OS.
