Hi All,
I installed pocket informant and accidentally set it as "default contact manager". After restoring it to the default contact manager, I no longer have the HTC contact alphabet bar on the right. I believe it's also called "HTC random access".
I'm assuming the registry or the shortcut got all screwed up by pocket informant. Does anyone know how to restore this?

Isn't Working
Hi, I have a HTC Touch P3452 version and for some reason, I don't have the alphabet scroll for my contact list. I tried installing the Cab.file here and it doesn't seem to work properly. The alphabet bar is showing but it's white and I can't seem to use it.
How do I uninstall the Cab.file and reverse what I've done? I really want the alphabet bar. Can someone please help?

yesterday i´m successfully pathed my charmer to WM6 TouchFlo w. cube.
I tested some stuff. It works good. But there is a necessary thing which is not able to do: I cant open the contact manager to add and administrate my contacts. If i tap to the icon of the manager he close immediately.
Is there a bug in TouchFlo?

just go to your sim manager then select all, copy contacts to phone. Depending on your rom and what version of advanced configurations you have there is a option to hide your sim contacts.

yes, just go to your advanced config. and the option to show it or not should be there. i don't know if it'll work or not because i turned it off but it still shows my sim contacts. hope it works for you.
everytime i change a setting on something, and okay/X out of it, the phone ap shows up, instead of the today screen. how do i get rid of this?
also, is there a way to get the old messager back? or disable the cluster style text message "converstation"?

I have seen this problem based on which dialer I chose as well
i dont have spb pocket plus and the dialer still pops up...
same problem here, dcd 3.1.2. Funny, I looked forward to threaded sms when I upgraded
I had the same problem and was able to fix it by installing a new dialer. The new dialer doesn't look much different but the problem went away.
I have that problem on my Mogul, and I think it is PocketPlus

have the same problem and i never even seen the app
I think I got it, I installed the stock dialer over again and it hasn't popped up by itself since. I've attached the file I used so everyone else doesn't have to even bother searching for it.
edit: this is the gsm dialer sorry. I am removing it now

DO NOT use this dialer. This dialer is a GSM dialer and BREAKS your CDMA dialer functionality. I've seen so many people just post whatever works...then 5 more threads pop up with people asking "Why doesn't EPST work?" or "Why don't I have +1 dialing?"

I recently found a pretty nice looking dialer designed for GSM, but does not break the CDMA functionality. It's based off the iphone dialer and looks pretty damn good. I'm not a big fan of the Diamond dialer (also maintains CDMA functionality) as I don't really care for how it looks.

I was trying the ##778#, just dials the phone.... doesn't open epst... Also, the only way I can open epst is by using the link, clicking directly on the .exe does nothing....
Is there a complete list of codes for our phone??

Just run this past anyone, see if they have the same problem. I am running Novembre5 latest rom, however this issue was occuring with all of the roms I have tried including the official Toshiba roms.
So I have a disappearing problem with my context menu. It has happened to me after I install some programs. I install Resco Registry Editor, Photo Viewer, Swype 2.0, CE-Star for Japanese Input, bunch of games, get my device just the way I want it.... then I can't select anything. I try to "tap and hold" to bring up the context menu so I can cut and paste in an email or delete something in Resco Explorer, however when I click on a blank part on the screen, the circles will show up and the 1 second animation will commence in which the circles will surround where my stylus has hit the screen and then once the circles go around my stylus clockwise then the context menu will for a very-split-second appear and then disappear. To get the context menu to stay, I need to hold the stylus on screen and then remove the stylus from the screen just before the context menu appears, then the context menu will stay.
Needless to say.. this is really annoying... when I initially hard-reset the device, there are no problems like this, however, after installing my programs, then I have this issue. Is there any quick fix for this problem? Does anyone have an idea what is up? I like the programs that I have installed, I especially need Japanese on my device so I hope it is not CE-Star, is there any advice someone can give to me? I guess the next step is, is to hard reset and install the programs one buy one and test them out for a while and then figure out what program it is that is making the issue appear. However even then.... I need the programs that I install... and damnitt I purchased most of them, hehehe so they have gotta work!

that was retardedly easy yet frustratingly hard. Ok, CE-Star was the culprit. You must do two things. When installing CE-Star one must uncheck the handwriting component when installing the Japanese IME. If you install the handwriting component then the context menu will disappear. Also, second thing, one you register and activate the program then it loads a service at boot called DynaNls.lnk in your \Windows\StartUp folder. This service causes MANY frustrating issues associated with your device including but not limited to automatically rebooting 3 or 4 times during the boot sequence, and then it will work. Basically CE-Star is totally compatible with Windows Mobile 6.5 however you gotta do a couple of tweaks. Wow, this has solved 2 months of issues. Have a good days pplz.

I keep getting this message "Tap here to launch TouchFLO" come up when i return from screen lock . Whats wrong, i effectively have to load touchflo all the time.
I did reboot my phone to the manufacture settings, but sill the message is coming up everytime I close an app.
The phone is NEW without any applications,(got it 2 days ago)
Did anybody had the same error?

I believe this isn't an error, just the way things go with touchflo starting...

So anytime I close an application and return to Home screen Touchflo must restar?
I think that this is wrong, and touchflo sould start only when I restart my phone.
If every Htc touch 2 is the same than it's allright, I am going to live with it but I don't think so.

Sorry, I missunderstood you, it is abnormal for touchflo to restart everytime you return to homescreen.
Consequently I believe it's time for hard-reset, if not solved it can be some corrupted (original) ROMconfused or hardware problem?!
I did a hard-reset but I've got the same message everytime.
I am going to call the service center tomorow.

this happens when the phone runs low on memory. happened a lot when I installed touchFlo on someone's old Polaris. check if you don't have something running in the background

Try mmtaskmanager2.2(if necessary) ...
or it happens mostly when you install a new theme with some files missing or not supported by Manila 2d v2 or you have replaced/deleted some theme files in/from windows folder.

Hi,
Yesterday I did a Hard reset and then I was opening each software one by one to see wich one will bring that message back again.
Finally found it !!!
It is the Quick GPS software , once I acces this software the massage is back for ever.
Now I am not downloading anything on Quick GPS and after the second hard reset done the phon is PERFECT.

hard to say when or how, but i lost access to htc contact manager app in my HD2. im now stuck with ugly WinMo contact manager app... i still have shortcut to htc conacts on my home screen, but when i try to use it it says that link is broken or app is missing/app name is wrong. could you help me? i want to avoid hard-resetting my hd2 as i set it up nicely over last few months.

probably bit late for this suggestion now, but once you have the system tweaked as you wanted, it's good to make full backup of that "canonical" version (SPB Backup, Sprite, Resco),
as to the conatcts - try running the attached link from your SD Card, it's a copy of the original "HTC Contacts" link from my device, as you can check in any notepad it runs the command "\Windows\ManilaShortcut.exe people/browserlayer/peopleAll" --- if it works on your device, then just copy it anywhere inside \Windows\Start Menu and use it on the homescreen

check if the value under following registry key
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"IsShortcutEnable"
should be 1, if set to 0, the HTC apps shortcuts are removed from start menu (more here)
if this does not help try renaming the shortcut and placing it in any folder other than it normally is in,
as a last resort - assuming you use Manila interface - you can assign the contacts to chosen button directly via registry (unable to provide reference now, will try to find it later if none of the above helps)
