Hello
I am italian user and I have big problem with radio signal umts/gsm using htc touch dual. No problem with other phone models.
There is a new radio rom for my htc touch dual?
(scuse me for my english)
thank you
i like the niki signal sensitivity very much ! i live in a underground bunker with 3m thick walls (sort of) and i always had a lot of signal problems with my cellphones, but the niki is doing very well....
so this might be a manufacturing error (or i am just lucky with my niki)

I have O2 Atom life
Rom WM6.0 CE OS 5.2.1616(Build 18120.0.4.0)
I have the a problem with the phone carrier 3G signal, mainly it stood at 2 bars the most is full bar but just for a little while, i's a problem for video calls,
I live in malaysia using Celcom, when i switch the sim to my nokia hp the bar is always full, so my theory is, it's in the o2 software.
can anyone help me about this , i've read someting about a radio upgrade it makes the signal stronger. please help
Im using the same ROM and same network as yours. No such problem. Maybe your area's 3G coverage is not strong enough.
(Cant compare to other mobile phone since the PPC phone's signal is abit weak than other device)

okey i see thanks man, this is something new to me so the ppc phone signal is weaker than hp signal thank u verry much.
I'm having the same problem as you but even when it shows a weak signal, the reception is still good. But that depends on the location I'm currently at.
Regarding PPC phone signal is weaker, that is not true. My O2 Xda II mini shows a full bar while my O2 Xda Atom Life shows only 2 bars, side by side.

Can anyone compare GSM radio performance on the Rose to the Raphael (Touch Pro), or diamond?
I am having real trouble with poor GSM signal on my Touch Pro, and am considering switching to Rose - if it is better. I think Rose shares a lot of the hardware with the Touch Pro/Diamond, so I suspect radio performance will be similar.
TIA

RF always depends alot on where your at. I have both the S740 and the pro and find both have outstanding RF. I have no issues with either. I'm in Arizona and use t-mobile. T-mobile is big on coverage in AZ tho. I never have probs. with any of my devices here. I think you will see no better RF perf. with one over the other.

Oh well. Unfortunately, where I live and work, network coverage is pretty poor. And in this situation I know that my S710 (vox) totally outshines my touchpro for reception. I was hoping the S740 radio performance would be more like the S710 than the touch pro.
By the way, I am on GSM 900, and I guess you will be GSM 1900, so you are likely to have more densely arranged cells - the nearest base station to my house is over 1.5 miles with a large hill in between. The fact that I get any signal at all is quite impressive I suppose.
I had a S710 before - my new Rose has even a better reception (Germany, T-Mobile) ...
Have to admit, from going from a Tytn II to the S740 my signal quality has dropped by at least a half for indoor coverage (from full on the Tytn to 2 on the S740) but no difference in outdoor quality.
Hi,
Some of you, like me have a bad reception with their Hero. For mee, it so bad that 3G is more of a ghost than a reality. Since I'm not that into the OS and what is possible with it. Can anyone confirm that it is possible bij tweaking the Android software, the perception can be inproved, if not that I will return the Hero.
To be clear I mean, can HTC do anything about it without changing the hardware.

This will probably be fixed in the future with a Radio release from HTC, it's usually just software releated.
Same issue for me, really the only issue that concerns me - at home hero keeps losing signal, wheras my tytn2 has 2 or 3 bars. Same difference in work - at least it has a signal there.
This needs addressing as its a very week signal compared to all my old handsets, hopefully like mentioned it just needs new radio coding.
same story here
i don't know what's happening .. no signal most of the time

I also have problems getting a good 3G signal when I'm at home, so I just set the phone to connect only to 2G networks.
Usually 2G networks are better spread out (because they're older) and get better reception.
I assume that most of us have a wireless network at home so 3G isn't that important anyways at home.
Hello everyone, I wonder if you could help me with some roms.
I Wind but also trying other operators have no signal is almost always indoors and out. Can you help? thanks
English only!
You have don't exceed with SRS WOW HD parameters if you have installed.
I had the same problem.
However TG01 receive parts is horrible with edge and gsm. With 3g is better but don't much .
Regards.
I changed telco recently, to SFR (in France) and am getting very poor 4G reception at home. I haven't used the data connection at home before (because I have WiFi) so I didn't know what to expect.
The mast is only 2.8km away and LTE800, so the OPX should like it. The SIM card works well in my partner's Xiaomi, and in my old cheap and cheerful Alcatel POP4, and both get a strong and stable 4G signal. So why is my OPX struggling? I've been on to the support at SFR and they are going to monitor the line but said everything looks ok (APN details good, no local outages, etc) so it should work.
The only strange thing that might help in problem diagnosis is that I had to create the APN myself. The correct one was not displayed on the OPX - several other telco APNs were displayed (around 15 in total) but not the one I wanted, which I find weird. In the other 2 phones (Xiaomi & POP4), the correct 2 APNs are the only ones displayed.
Do you think there's something wrong with my OPX? Is it simply 'weaker' than the other 2 phones I have? Might it have a problem with that particular mast? (I get good 4G elsewhere) This one baffles me.
Nobody any thoughts on this?
It was suggested to me that perhaps the OPX designers compromised 4G reception (due to limited physical space) and upper band LTE is advantaged over LTE800. because the majority of 4G provision is in that upper band.
I have noticed this too!
Consider I live in a little country where 4G signal is low.
The same happens in Rome where 4G signal is high!
In fact, with Mi A2 lite I have no problems.
Probably the hardware is not very well designed, like you said above.
I don't like to resort to unhelpful, nontechnical language so consider this as venting - 4G reception sucks on the OnePlusX!
I'm seriously considering getting another phone (and I otherwise like my OPX) because its 4G reception is so weak. Sure, it works on occasions but I know other phones do better. Still, I guess it is now 'old' technology!
It looks allright with my OPX in France too, with Prixtel (Orange).
I have my main Sim card with Red SFR in my main phone, but with the OPX, the 4G DL and UP speed are good.
With Prixtell, I get this right now:
Hello,
I have a same problem with Bouygues, I have a better connection with sosh/orange...
the Bouygues/SFR antenna is at 3km
orange/Free is at 1Km
and traveling by car the reception is less cut with orange / sosh
I've come to the conclusion that it's the OPX hardware and/or design. Nothing we can do about it... other than get a different phone!
Fortunately for me, it's not a real problem - i's just a limitation, a bit frustrating and somewhat baffling. As I said, my cheap and ordinary Alacatel phone has a better 4G reception!
Are you by any chance using dual sim cards? I've noticed that my 4G reception is also worse ever since I started using 2 cards.
Also, reception appeared to be better on stock Oxygen OS than it is on LOS15.1 that I'm using right now.
