the most useful link I found was http://himalaya.iclem.net./ (at bottom of page posted above). Actually got a fully running gpe system working off sd . if you want to store haret/kernel on sd card as well, just create a small extra fat16 partition on your sd card as well as ext3 partition. When trying to access card from a pc i discovered I had to have probe all scsi luns enabled in order for it to make all the card slots available in my reader.
But you´re talking all about the Himalaya device, but he has a Wallaby....

Any programs that format Mini SD Cards?

I bought A Sandisk 1GB Mini SD Card off of ebay for $10
-just the the card no card reader, or adaptor of any sort.
I insert it into my wizard, and it fits it with the spring loaded mechnism fine, but when I go to memory managment, im not sure if it knows it's there or not
Memory management will say that, that "external storage": "Not Installed"?
But when I go to take pictures, I go to the utilities/options menu, then general tab, and it doesnt even acknowledge that theres their a card in the slot, only seeing system memory.
So my question is, are their any programs that can/will format my card, or implement something to make it work?
I have Total Commander(not installed), and thinking about downloading this program called "SKTools". Would these programs work.
Cause not only is this a brand new card, but i have pictures and programs that I want to get installed on this device.
-Ive already amazed myself by using the Lockiwiz, to unlock my phone(having only 2-days worth of exp with a smartphone device)
-taken a few pictures, which i have to downloading off my wizard through activesync
-An some other freeware programs that want to install themselves on the system memory
Please help, all/ and any post greatly appreciated
Thanks!
EDIT: I downloaded SKTools onto my device, and its a cool program( I think its a alternate version of total commander but you pay for it?), but it doesnt recognize my Mini SD card either!!
-I also found this program called "WM5Storage", in the description it say that it's specialty is dealing with "external storage", downloading/ and uploading without the need of activesync?

I had the same problem.
The only thing that worked on my sd-card was to clean it with an sd-card reader that was pluges in too my computer.
PS. I hope you understand, my english is not so good.

got some tricks up it's sleve
jus using card reader to format it to fat 32 format then is ok.
your only option is, which has already be said,is to format the card with a card reader. WM5Storage when activated allows your phone to become a usb storage device that can be plugged into any pc without the need for active sync to be installed. you can then see the contents of the sd card, but as your wizard cant even see the sd card that wont work either, nor will any other program you install.
Either the card is incompatable or it needs to be formatted
The best option to format any SD or MiniSD is into Digital Camera.

[Q] Problem With MicroSd Card....limited space

Hello. Well I just rooted my 16 gig Nook Tablet. THe instructions said to write the img onto a micro sd card of at least 2 gigs. Problem is, the instructions didn't mention that after flashing(or burning or whatever it's called) the img file onto the microsd card that it would lose space :crying:. My 32gig card now only says about 2 gigs. I was wondering if anyone can help me undo this? Sorry if its been asked already. Couldnt really think of a way of searching this problem without a lengthy paragraph. Thanks in advance for any help. And please, please help.
Basically the card takes the size of the burned image. The nook color dudes actually have images of different sizes (2gb, 4gb, 8gb, 16gb, 32gb) that allow you to burn the proper image size to the proper sized card and keep the extra space.
What you need to do now is either expand the card (this will allow you to access the rest of the card while keeping the burned image on there as well) or simply reformat it, which will result in the card being restored to its full size. There are guides around for both methods but basically search for either "expand sd card or format sd card."
The key part is, your card is not permanently small, so don't worry.
The partitions on the SD card cannot be changed under Windows, however, there is a nice Linux tool available (GPartet), which can be used to expand the card to its original size.
in windows you can repartition easily, you need to use this
http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html
and just either expand the initial partiion or make another partition with the rest of the space

[Q] How to recover files off of internal storage

HTC One
Does not have external sd card, only the "Internal Storage"
I was trying to multitask and ended up wiping Internal Storage through TWRP.
Is there any app / process I can use to recover files?
Undelete[app] errors out saying it's not a fat filesystem
Disk Digger[app] only searches for specific file extensions, which would cover things like my TitaniumBackup & TWRP Backup files
When I plug it into a computer, it shows up as a Portable Device, and no problem that I've downloaded (Recurva / PCI / EUSUA) is able to search on portable devices, only physical/logical drives.
Is there anything I can do to attempt to get data back from the sd card?
Edit: Should have looked it up first...

That's obviously not for your phone, but there might be similar steps or a way to adapt that to work for you. Good luck!

[Q] LG Realm 4.4.2 - Setting SD Card as Primary Storage?

Hi all,
I just got my hands on a Boost Mobile LG Realm. It turns out this phone only has 1gb of internal storage. I popped in a micro sd thinking it would solve the issue. It turns out that you cannot save apps to the SD card. Shoot, some of my apps don't even have the option of setting the SD card as the primary save location.
I have done some research, but alas I still need some assistance. Can someone tell me how I can use my SD card as my primary storage on Kit Kat 4.4.2? I have discovered that my phone has an emulated external storage so that it stops the SD card from being used as a primary storage.
I have successfully rooted the phone via Towelroot, and I have frozen/uninstalled some bloat ware using Titanium Backup
Edit: I have attached my vold file via dropbox: dropbox com/s/ihpfoo4h79kaphx/vold.fstab?dl=0
Like I said I have done some research and the code in my vold file does not match the ones in the guides.

Your gonna be kinda stuck. While you can move the apps to sdcard with a few tools the app data will still be on the internal storage. There are a few ways to move that also but due to the way sd cards work on Android it kills app performance and may even stop the app from working all together. This is due to android removing all sd card code from stock Android and each OEM has to add it back on their own so coding is different from one device to another.

Thanks for the reply. I understand; I guess I will have to lightly use this.
