hi guys.i need your information.some people say before u flash your phone with any custom rom get the clean system with tmobile 2.26.i have i mate kjam.its g4 and cid unlock..can flash my phone t-mobile offical 2.26 rom.because i am not sure that offical rom is g4 or g3.i dont wanna brick my phone.thanks your information and help
Don't flash T-Mobile 2.26 on a G4.... It contains IPL/SPL and will brick your device!
thank u
thanks for your valuable information my friend.so people are giving me wrong advice.what should i do? how can i get right rom and latest ipl/spl for my imate kjam to make my system clean?maybe from xxx.clubimate.com ?thanks your help my friend.thank u
You should read allot before flashing your device, make sure you know what your doing when flashing the first time. You cannot touch/upgrade IPL/SPL on a G4, but it isn't necessary! You can still flash new roms into it. Start here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613
You also tell your G4 is CID-unlocked. Have you payed for it at imei-check? If not.... it's still CID-locked! There's a difference between SIM and CID-lock.
g4 kjam and cid unlock
yes.i paid to imeicheck.co.uk.i am sure my kjam all ready cid unlock.because this is not first to flash my kjam.i flashed before.(orginal kjam rom to faria 3.3 than to wm6 mb edition than to faria wm6 realthing than to x-plore 1.1 and now i am using faria wm5 3.3 4mb page pool)...now i am not sure how clean my kjam is?if ipl/spl update is not necassarly which you sais it's ok no problem.but i have some problem with my phone,i tried almost all task managers,i couldn't get good performance.i am having freezing problem.memory leaking problem etc...i thought maybe i must flash my phone some offical phone, but u said u cant use t.mobile or other...imate offical rom is very old version and useless and too slow..now i dont know what must i do?what should i do?thanks your help my friend.
I see! It is possible to got back to an official rom by recooking the rom without IPL/SPL. Here is explained how to do this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=271043
thank you
Dear Community, Dear Experts, Dear Gurus ,
I am hoping for your help. Unfortuntately the Speaker in my HTC TyTn died
and I need to send back the TYTN to the service center in order to get most likely the speaker replaced ( dead ).
Here my isue:
I want to flash the original stock rom, which is:
RUU_Hermes_1.18.257.2_1.18.257.106_1.03.03.10_Qtek_GER_Ship.exe
I have running now and downgraded from WM6 to WM5:
HTC_BOOT HERM200 IPL-1.04 SPL-2.10.Olipro ->>> not OK :-(
ROM HTC German QTEK_102 1.18.257.2 05/30/06 ->>> OK
EXTROM 1.18.257.106 ->>> OK
RadioRom 1.41.00.10 ->>> not OK :-(
Protocol 32.34.7010.01H ->>> OK
OS Build 14955.2.3.0 ->>> OK
AKU 2.3 ->>> OK
The issue is now, how can I restore the original bootloader ? I can only
flash the rom with the RUUWrapper, the result of flashing the original stock
rom is then, that I am still stuck with the modified bootloader and a corrupted
radio rom. Radio Rom was "fixed" by me by flashing the latest version.
If I would try to use the original flasher I would always get an Update Error [260].
So what can I do to resotre the HTC TyTn to its original status, so that the warranty is not voided ... original stock bootloader, radio rom image and so on.
Thanks a lot and hoping for your support, since I am realy lost here.
Sbrani
grab sspl (soft spl) and use that to flash a stock bootloader only.
as far as i know you cannot downgrade the radio due to it being bootloader 0108 variant, but not having a hermes i might be wrong
You can restore the original SPL bootloader by using SSPL but you will not be able to downgrade the Radio as the original has HTC_BOOT 0106.
You have already checked these guys that they haven't released an update?
First of all, thanks a lot for replying, but still the question is, how I can get rid of the HERM200 IPL-1.04 SPL-2.10.Olipro Bootloader. I would need to downgrade once again to the original HTC bootlader 106. As long as I have the other one, I will always end up, with a non working radio rom, since this stone old radio rom is not compatible with the new "IPL-1.04 SPL-2.10" bootlader. Any further Ideas ? Anyway the sspl (soft spl) did the trick and was able to flash orignal rom, but unfortunately with the same result, still not the original bootloader and the radio rom is now again corrupted :-(.
The bootloader hindering you from downgrading to the original radio is not the IPL/SPL combo but instead the built-in bootloader of the radio itself. Read more in the Wiki.
To put back your original SPL loader, use NBHextract to extract the SPL image from the ROM update file you used to downgrade the other bits in your phone, then use NBHgen to create an update file containing only the SPL and then use SSPL for the update.
Hey great support here ! Finally I also managed to restore the original bootloader, which is HERM200 IPL-1.00 HERM200 SPL-1.04. Now I only have to get the original radio rom running. Thanks a lot, seems that I can think now of actually reaching the final goal. I learned a lot. Great community !!!
You're missing the point about the radio. Let me repeat:
You can't install the original radio ROM. You will brick the phone!
abubasim is right, you have htc_boot 0108, so you can only flash radios with htc_boot 0107 or 0108, but not 0106. Your original radio has 0106, so if you flash it you'll get a NoGSM error and a bricked phone.

Well Pof, abubasim, Couldn’t sbrani downgrade the radio with custom RUU to his own original Rom Radio first?? (almost the official known Radio is 1.38) then following your description. At that time he gone have WM5 Rom and same Radio as original, I just wondering if u can du like this
Don't worry guys I bricked several times now the radio rom . It's just that it is then extra work. I will keep you updated, as soon I have news, for now I can't see anymore those "upgrading" tools. I will try it again tomorrow.
you where able to unbrick because you had HardSPL, but now you have SPL-1.04 which will not allow you to flash unsigned code.
By the way, did anybody have experience with HTC or better to say HTC Serivce Providers. As far as I know I have to send it to Teleservice in Germany. Are they realy checking the installed rom ? Thanks for the info.
Ok, I made it finally, I will post exactly how I did it, maybe it helps someone who will be in the same situation.
Thanks once again, great SUPPORT !!
Sure you'd HELP me!
Hi there,
Hi Sbrani, I'm in the exactly same situation: HTC TYTN (Orange France) without speaker... and needing to go to french HTC support.
I upgraded both ROM and Radio to the latest versions following step by step the tutorial found here and on mr (???) on its website (very well done by the way).
Sbrani, Please could you help me to restore as you did, my factory defaults?
Regards
Fly
Can you give more facts ? Pls look into my first thread and put down the infos. Thx
Guideline: How to downgrade to an original rom
Ok here we go this is how I solved this issue.
First you need to understand the difference between a normal SPL
and the modified SPls, which you can get here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
A standard SPL will not accept any unsigned code !
In case you bricked it already look here :
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Unbrick
1. you need to figure out, which radio rom matches your rom you want to flash, otherwise you end up with a bricked radio rom or even totally bricked,
if you have a standard SPL.
2.Please check it here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades
for the roms
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtractedRadioRoms
for the radio roms
3.Looking at my ROM, which I needed I flashed 1.10 - Olipro SPL - based on 1.04,
I flashed it by using SSPL.
4.I flashed then the needed the radio rom
which was Radio upgrade only using CustomRUU 4.3 V 1.38.30.10
5.I used then Custom RUU Updater flashing the needed rom,
but without the included radio rom.
Costum RUU Updater you can find here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_CustomRUU
extracting and modifying is explained here:
http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=22&Itemid=27
actually it is an how to downgrade from WM6 to WM6.
Please have a close look on how to extract the rom and how to create a
costum rom, which will fit your needs. The self made rom,
should then include the original IPL and SPL loader.
I finally used again SSPL to flash the self cooked rom.
Sorry if the guide is not very precise or not correct at all !!
Everybody is welcome to correct me and to finetune this guide.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, please read the HERMES WIKI, it was a great help for me !!
Thank you!
You deserve a Very Very Warm thank you!
I'll try all you advised me this week-end.
Regards,
FlY
it's very good already. i think you should get it incorporated into MrVanx's guide as a downgrade for servicing section
Thanks for your guide sbrani, I have not had to downgrade yet, but it something that is in the back of my mind as I know it will be very difficult if I ever need to.
I would also second the comment that I would be very grateful to MrVanx if he wrote a general guide on how to return to factory condition , as it is much more involved than upgrading. It's one thing to flash a phone, a totally different thing to customise a ROM update in order to only flash a specified portion.
@sbrani:
What version is your radio ROM at now? 1.03.03.10 or 1.38.30.10?
Hey all, this is NOT a "howz to git to Windowze Mobiil 6.!!!!" post, but rather a question about "upgrading" a ROM. I am currently running TNT's Windows Mobile 6.1 Proffesional ROM, and I have just learned that there is any upgrade to that particular ROM, and would like to know if I can safely upgrade to it from WM6.1, or do I have to downgrade back to the Love ROM and then upgrade again. Heres my device history if it helps:
Device=Cingular 8125, SIM Unlocked(using Lokwiz 3.0)
Original ROM=Cingular WM5.0
Current ROM=TNT WM 6.1 V1
Heres how I upgraded it originally:
Got it home, used the HardSPL method to make my IPL/SPL 2.26.XXXX(so my device IS a G4), tried to upgrade to WM6.1...no luck. Discovered that you have to upgrade to the LOVE ROM first, so I tried that...again, no luck. So I then used the SoftSPL.exe to temporairily CID unlock my device I guess, and then proceeded to upgrade to the LOVE ROM, then to the TNT WM 6.1 V1 ROM.
Now, my device is working fine, and I would just like to know if I CAN upgrade to the new V2 ROM, and if what I did to get this far is correct. ANy help is appreciated!

My opinion is that flashing the LOVE ROM was a unnecessary step. I never do anything like that before changing ROMs (flashing a stock ROM and the like)
That almost answers your question except that having used SoftSPL your CID block is still locked and SPL knows it so you must either:
1- Flash SoftSPL before flashing the TNT
2- Flash the HardSPL to not worrying about it ever again when wanting to change ROMs (my option - if i had a G4)
hope it's clear
cheers
PS:
Use WST to check if you SPL is HardSPL'ed or not with "Device Info" option
"G4 SAFE" What does that mean???

I have a question about What G4 safe?
I uploaded a rom with HTCLogo.nb+Splash.nb+OS.nb (I assume that because there is no IPL/SPL it should be safe for G4????)

Absolutely right m8
As you can see from the pics only the IPL and SPL have versions depending on the DOC chip (G3 3.08 in this case )

Thanx So much!
FOR THE NON EXPERT USERS like me this is not a tutorial it's a question i wanna know if it's possible , cuz it's logicly possible
G4 G4 G4
i wannted to mention that i think from reading that the soft spl and hard spl is the same but the soft spl every time i flash i have to use and i don't think that it is hard or boring so
tell me experts what will happen to my G4 k-jam if i did this
copy the nk.nbf from the RADIO rom and put it in the soft spl folder like we do in Regular Roms to flash it
the nk.nbf from the rom only has a gsm i checked no spl or ipl or extrom or os or splash nothin just gsm
so what will happen to my runing rom TNT 19209 pro
i wanna know if it will addition the gsm only or it will brick my Wizard
Its probablly going to corrupt your current ROM. It wont brick your Wizard exactly, but youy wont be able to start your device....thats what happened to me when I tried something similiar anyways.

thx for respond in my stupid posts and i'm sure u think that i'm just noob and don't accept any new ideas my proplem that i just want to leave my spl and ipl the way they r
by the way
i can solve my proplem by flashing an imate official rom but i'm afraid to do that
cuz it have all spl and ipl and os and every thing and waht i should do to flash just open the exe downloaded file and proceed or what
a stupid question as useual da the official roms require a cid unlocked device in g4 or what and is there is any way that the official rom can be harmfull to my g4 Wizard
if this official is great for me and not harmfull it has a radio version that works fine with me after i flash the official rom i 'll soft spl to tnt again but this time with the old radio that works for me
what do u say ?
Yes, you can use SoftSPL to flash a new GSM ROM to your phone.
No, there's no way an official ROM can hurt your phone. They check your hardware and flash appropriately. For best results, stick to the original provider's ROM.
There's no reason to be concerned about leaving your IPL SPL unmodified. Even if you use HardSPL, you can still revert back to an official ROM, after removing HardSPL.
If you do a HardSPL, you can flash pretty much anything that doesn't include IPL/SPL, including new boot screens, new radios, and almost every recent ROM in the Wizard Mobile 6 thread.
The phone must be CID-locked to flash an official ROM. If you used HardSPL, you would have to remove it (read the sticky-ed thread in the top of the G4 board) before going back to an OEM ROM. If you try to flash a G4 with HardSPL in place, you risk bricking it.
The newer TNT-based ROMs do not (and should not) include a radio as part of the package.
Don't use older ROMs, they are less reliable, and more likely to brick a G4 than newer ROMs are. Use this thread to choose a good ROM after you flash back to the OEM ROM and HardSPL your phone. If you like TNT, you should probably use one of these versions.

Be carefull!
There are official pre-G4 ROMs, they do not contain a G4 IPL/SPL therefore a pre-G4 (G3-only) official ROM most certainly will brick your G4 device.
Several members have reported bricks due to this!
BTW soft-SPL was designed to flash anything, including Radio.

Just remove all the IPL/SPLs from the ROM.
No problem in flashing an stripped ROM.
Radio only flashing won't result in a corrupted ROM, but why with soft SPL?
Just flash hard SPL and feel the freedom of flashing with a RUU without using the sspl.

I know the feeling!
I was really nervous when I first tried to reflash the bootloaders, however radio and OS ROMs aren't critical.
If the bootloader still works in good order you should be able to recover from almost any mishap.
Good luck!

Hi everybody,
i get a problem when i tried to flash my second HD2, flashed the first one without problems
i searched for spl 3.03 and i found other threads saying that we have to flash with stock ROM but the serial number doesn't match with the mskip list...
S/N is : HT01KNW03882 is there anyone who can tell me it 's from where ?
i bought it to a guy who get it with a contract it's under Orange french ROM and i'm in france so i get this french ROM:Leo_HTC_FRA_1.43.406.2_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50.22_2
but i get this message error during a sd card method (card was formatted in FAT32), after showing me the bootloader screen, in the grey back :00028002
Not allow
and then it returns in the tri color screen
sorry for the bad english and thanks in advance
Hello sir, honestly it isn't complicated.
You mention that it is a device who came from a contract under Orange.
So it is a Orange branded device.
So conclusion; you need this ROM: RUU_Leo_S_Orange_FR-B2B_3.14.73.2 Download!
And for your info; I have verified it with your S/N
thanks for reply !
this is the ROM i had already and the only one i can get from HTC whith the S/N you'r right but i tried that and it do not change spl
i just flashed it now with SSPL and a 1.43 french stock ROM but i just want HSPL on it

Mate, Im confused..
You said you have that rom installed/flashed but didnt change the SPL?
As I know, the stock rom version 3.14 contains SPL 3.03.0000. So, your hd2 should have had that spl now.
Try to check again in case you missed something.
Also please keep in mind that SPL 3.03.0000 are not compatible with HSPL at the moment. It will cause you trouble if you install HSPL over SPL 3.03

First of all I'm confused, If you already have this ROM; way your question about that you card find your stock ROM based on your S/N???
And secondly, way would you install stock ROM over SSPL??? Just use the normal installation proses. But in case you have HSPL on your device, remove it first. (HSPL isn't compatible with stock ROM 3.14)
was afraid when i saw that no S/N was like mine and i want HSPL because it's easy and i use it since Trinity without any probs.
flashed with SSPL because i really don't like Orange's ROM
If i understand correctly, you flashed with sspl and can't go back to hspl even after going back to stock rom. Its very easy to solve but difficult to find the required rom. All you have to do is download different kinds or should i say download an older version of the orange stock rom and install it on your device. That should solve your proplem, at least that how i was able to solve mine.

hehe, and that little piece of info is the cause of confisuion this mildly amusing thread,, , you see the only orange rom that has been released by HTC directly is the 3.14, (there is an earlier orange FR rom about, but i remember lots of people hunting high and low last summer for it) but the OP wants to downgrade to apply hspl.
@OP - give the one in post 2 a try HERE.
