This is my first ever custom rom that I am sharing. I used Dogguys kitchen with the leaked sprint rom and some customizations from DCD's Kitchen to create this. Let me know if you find any bugs or if you want anything added/removed and I will see what I can do.
Directions:
If you've already upgraded to any GPS enabled rom just drop the file in the Rom Update utility and flash away, otherwise the same directions posted for the other GPS enabled roms apply, you must install Hard-Spl 2.40 and the 3.27 radio.
Note: This is not packaged like other posters roms, I don't know how to do that yet.
http://rapidshare.com/files/87757193/jjlwork_Telus_BetaGPS_1302008.nbh
When you say it isn't packaged, what comes in it? Does it even have office or anything else? Can you use an mp3 or mp4 as a custom ringtone? Does the EVDO icon come on? Is everything working fine in it for a TELUS customer like us?
I flashed back to default because I loved gps, but wasn't ready to stay with it with those issues.
If they work, I'll use it.

By not packaged I mean it doesn't come in a nice little self extracting file.
You can use whatever windows mobile supports for ringtones
EVDO icon does come on and everyitng is working fine for me. It is basically the same experience as the offical Telus with GPS (excep it would have all the fixes that the sprint rom provides like bluetooth and alarm issues.
Kudos on the Telus rom !
We need more of em ! Not that i'm saying DCD's kitchen is bad or anything. It is nice to have a mix of choices....
But I find the leaked rom a little buggy ?

that could be because the leaked rom is still just a beta rom, not fully done this was just supposed to be released to official testers afaik. But maybe they leaked the rom on purpose so we could find more bugs?

As everyone may have noticed, 1.43.00.00 RADIO version can be found in JJ's BLACK SHADOW screen shots.
Who knows where to get such radio version?
It would be rather splendid to know a little bit more about such issue.

could that possibly be a typo? could he mean 1.40.30.00?
A typo in a screenshot?
He's having a brand new rom maybe he's having a new radio too.
No it's realy 1.43.00.00.....
I saw it on the screens from the new black shadow rom . . .
I really don't think so... These are screen shots... Nothing user typed...
Walshieau's signature refer exactly the same version...
I just wonder where to get it. It may come from unreleased / unreleasable sources but - in my opinion - not a typo...
I already PM both JJ and Walshieau but i doubt they even answer...
If it were to be released or leeched it would have been already...
Wouldn't you say?
Let's home someone has some info about this or, lets wait for their answer.
love updates and new versions..
Yeah me to ,
Sometimes i have updated my device and settings.
and then i go to xda-devs. .
and what u think? already a new update
I'm searching..
update: I decompiled the Black Shadow rom and there was no radio in it..so I guess, we just have to wait..

It is a new radio, either JJ and Walsh haven't been able to extract it yet or they are waiting for the hype and commotion about the rom's to die before releasing.
In addition Rogers Canada put out a New Radio 1.42.00.10, nobody can get it at the moment because it cannot be extracted because it is a new radio bootloader.
For Rogers we have to wait for an update that includes the Radio before it can be made public.
The newer radios as I have just found out from Pof and Sleuth are not extractable due to the new Radio bootloaders, I am sure with time the new radios will emerge.
Indeed...
Actually, the same happens to me all the time.
But regrading 1.43.00.00, i am trying to find a radio version more suitable to use with OPTIMUS in Lisbon - Portugal with a better performance as well as battery life.
It's not a satisfaction need of the Upgrading Animal... He he he

In that case how can a device with Black Shadow have it?
Maybe they could provide us with the information of which ROM upgrade has it so we could use it an then Black Shadow again...
I'm so dying to get my hands on a new RADIO! I never have luck with any of them on our networks!
Hope it gets extracted and released soon!

When JJ got the ROM it must have included the Radio, JJ only puts out OS only ROM's, to risky otherwise, when JJ Flashed the original Shadow Rom it likely included the radio.
From what JJ has let out this was the official upgrade that he got his hands on. Currently there is no ROM upgrade with this Radio on it, you will have to wait until JJ or Walsh extract it if possible or until the official release or an update.
Bottom line, it is going to be a while, myself and austinsync have been searching for a new radio either from Rogers or newly released ROM's. The problem is the inability to extract from a dump and there are currently no new updates at this time.

I have a Touch Pro (CDMA/Sprint) coming in next week, and when it gets here, one of the first things I would like to do is put a new ROM on it.
I currently have a Mogul (also with a custom ROM), but I am out of the loop when it comes to the Touch Pro.
All of the ROM's in the official Wiki are under the GSM heading (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_Cooked_WM6.1_ROMs), so no help there.
So, what ROM would you guys recommend?
Juggalos as well.
I have been loading roms on my touch pro all day. I would have to say juggalo's rom is the fastest and most stable. definitely recommend it.
Mine ;c)
If your on VZW!
www.scottcrosler.com for details!
I also got a beta 6.5 IM going to post shortly if anyone wants to play (VZW!)
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
I went ahead and downloaded Juggalo's rom which I found over at ppcgeeks, but I will also have a look at what you've got "cookin" scrosler.
I liked Juggalo's ROM, but it was a bit too buggy for me. I found Juicy 4.7 to be the best ROM out right now for the Sprint Touch Pro
MightyROM 4.9
Its perfect!
And stay away from WM6.5 unless you either:
1. Know how to fix it.
2. Enjoy headaches.
FYI: Juicy is no longer supported.
I also like MightyRom and currently run 4.9.1 (the latest). Juggalo was fine until my WiFi started turning itself on for no reason. It could be something I have done and not the rom, but I run the same configuration on mightyrom and it never happened.
Ultimately, you should try them all and see which one you like more yourself.
Jugallo work fine for my telus and its quite an improvement over the stock rom. Not sure what other rom run for telus anyway.
Running Juggalo's on my Telus Touch Pro. No problems yet....

Yes. Uploading a new ROM to your phone will erase anything that isn't part of the ROM. Programs will need to be reinstalled, but don't you just sync your contacts with your PC?
Juicy 4.7. Blazing fast and no crazy looking theme to boot.

Amazing.
Hey Guys, just finished playing around with the kitchen and made a simple modification to the default espresso ROM. Unlike other Roms, this ROM does not have a lots of kernel level modifications, and lots of changes. But this ROM is just the default Rom that came with your shipped myTouch 3G Slide, except that this ROM does not have all the bloat-ware that make your phone slow and laggy. The followings features are included:
Features
======
Espresso UI
Busy-box
Rooted
SuperUser
NANO Editor
Deodexed APK Files
100% Stable (Think of it as your default rom)
Nothing that does not work.
Flash player
Cool Boot animation (Who likes that crappy tmobile boot animation? )
Eclair (2.1) [Tried Everything To Use Froyo And Make It Stable, No Luck, But I Don't Think There Is A Lots Of Stuffs Missing In Eclair)
Some Other Stuff
Removed Stuff
==========
All Crapware
HTC PDF Reader (Use Adobe Reader From Market)
HTC Twitter Client
Stocks
Stocks Widget
Tmobile Visual Voicemail (Get It From Market If Needed)
Tmobile My Account (Same as above)
Amazon MP3
AppPack Tmobile
All other crapware that makes your phone laggy.
As far as i know, there is nothing that doesn't work (Played it with for few days to see if something is wrong). Proximity sensor, wifi, bluetooth, keyboard, all the keys, touch screen, and almost everything works perfectly. Please let me know if something doesnt work.
How to install
=========
First root your phone using this method or this method.
Then put the zip file in your sd card and go to clockwork recovery. Then just install the zip file as you would do with every other rom.
If you dont get what i am saying, check this.
Please let me know if something does not work. THanks
[I am not an android developer, just a simple guy [and a bit of java programmer] ]
I dont think Tmobile is going to give us Froyo within this Dec 15th as rumored by a lots of sites. But for now, lets stay happy with eclair and lets hope they will send the updates soon.
Download ROM
GUYS, PLEASE DONT DOWNLOAD OR LEAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ABOUT THIS ROM BECAUSE THIS WASNT MEANT TO BE A ROM THAT EVERYONE SHOULD USE, I MADE IT FOR MY OWN PERSONAL USE AND JUST WANTED TO SHARE HERE SO THAT AT LEAST SOMEONE MIGHT BE SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS. MODS --> IF YOU THINK THIS IS INAPPROPRIATE OR SHOULD NOT BE HERE, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SEE THIS THREAD IN THRASH FORUM (DELETED)

Yeap nano is a terminal text editor. That means that if you want to edit some config file or text file in recovery mode or somewhere using adb shell, you can [I think it is better than vi]

THIS is an OTA rom.
OTA brought the retail system (1.27.531) to 1.35.531 and updated the radio as well. If you're linking me to the correct Espresso zip that you used, you've based you rom on outdated system software.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. Has someone flashed this that can check their About this Phone section of settings to see which system version this is?

That is the latest we can use, because the latest ota does not allow flashing unsigned packages, so even clockworkmod wont work there. but you can always install the rom first and install the update.zip for the new ota (that is if you find one) . good luck

Fast and functional. I'm thankful for a new rom to use. Outdated is not an issue. I still load donut on people's G1's when they want stable root. Either way thanks for contributing....I could live without the negative comments.

Pointing out that the starting-point of this rom is outdated and potentially buggy is hardly a negative comment. It's a statement of fact that isn't mentioned anywhere in the first post. People should be aware of what they are flashing.
Improvements included with this update are as follows:
1. Battery Life:
Updates to the T-Mobile online contact backup connection, which will improve battery life.
2. Wi-Fi:
Ability to send MMS messages when connected to Wi-Fi.
3. Genius Button improvements:
Ability to turn GPS on and off using your voice, such as “Turn GPS on.”
Will announce Caller ID for incoming voice calls and allow you to “Answer” or “Ignore” using your voice.
Will announce incoming text messages and allow you to “reply” with dictation.
4. Faves Gallery improvements:
The Faves icon will be displayed beside notifications that appear while the device is locked to indicate that the communication is coming from one of your Faves.
Fave photo display speed will be enhanced.
General stability will be improved, including more seamless scrolling and consistent display of photos

Hey guys.... Thanks to a member here at XDA, Krylon360, I have gotten my hands on the unreleased 2.2.1 Espresso OTA and so as usual my first stop in is to provide the new radio update while I sort the patches out and get you guys a stock rooted ROM... So without further chit chat as I got some work ahead of me, heres the new radio update taking baseband to 7.15.35.16.... Havent noticed much change although I have also tested nothing speedwise tbh so I will let you all report back on these things.... Grab the radio update here or here and let me know of any improvements or even negative effects it has caused with data, battery life, wifi, etc.... A CR_Mod stock., rooted OTA will follow shortly and you guys can get your much awaited 2.2.1 Froyo Espresso on early since TMO wants to lag..... Have fun... CR
PS: I did this with an update script rather than an updater script as it was easiest in windows which Im on for the moment... I will convert to an updater script in a little while. What does this mean you ask? It means any of you who have flashed the unsupported as of yet CWM 3.0+ rec images that are floating around will not be able to flash the radio. To fix this, use rom manager to reflash the current supported CWM rec, flash the radio, and if you must, reflash the CWM 3.0+ rec in fastboot.
Flashing!

Chiefz, thanks for the radio dump. I flashed via fastboot. Haven't noticed *any* changes whatsoever, though... Not that surprising.
I am, however, most interested in the actual contents of the froyo OTA. Any chance you could put the whole zip up for download before you root it and defang it?
It wont flash on a non rooted phone... It does a version check and it looks for a version we don't even have so it fails.... Im looking for the esprimg that may help the process... Not sure if this is gonna be as easy as last time... CR

I am kinda new to all this. I just inherited the thunderbolt from my brother bc my other phone is dead. I am rooted and s-off running santod's Official Thunderbolt ICS deoxed debloated. My question was if I am able to switch to one of the older ROMS like NuSense ROM or UnSense ROM or anyone for that matter that I feel like. I know the process of flashing since I have gotten this far, but I don't want to flash these and then be in some sort of loop with problems.. Thanks in advance:good: Also are radios universal or.. I keep seeing people say just try a different one?
You can flash any ROM you like.
As for radios, look in the post about the ROM, they usually specify what radio is best for that ROM. The newest radio is defiantly needed for the new crop of ICS ROMs based on the official OTA as the older radios cause issues.
Only thing I can add to the first response... Always make a backup first. So when you somehow get into a bad flash/bootloop situation, you have an easy way back to a working device. Also verify your download by checking it's md5 code before you flash. Almost (if not all) files you download will have it listed with the download link on the forum op you're getting it from.
