Everything was good, till the XDA stoped working and the Active-Sync brocke the conaction to the XDA. On the XDA the screen showed me, that the upgrade will take 5 min. to finish, and that was all. Full stop. Now after i did started the Bootloader the screen shows just strips and nothing more... Oh yeah, i did not make a boot sd, so i could not start from the sd-card.

If someone of ( out there ) understood what i mean, pls help me...

Hello

Not ure fould... Was my own risk!!!
Now nothing works....ahhhhh, what can i do now???
HELP... i get crazy... Please, if anyone can help to bring it back to life.
Thank u all very much...
huffen

when the rom is correctly on the sdcard using a sdcard reader
the reader stops being able to read the sdcard as a valid sdcard
but when in the bootloader the pda autobegin the update
if you are unsure how to get it in bootloader read xda-wiki for wallaby
the pda should at all times be connected to power

Hello,
My xda will not start at all. nothing happens anymore. just off. I switch on the and nothing happens any more. No bootmanager, just the red and green lights for the telefon are on. What can i do now? Is the xda now totaly dead? Or is it possible to restore the xda and bring it back to life?
Thanks Huffen

only think i can think off on the top of my head is

Have you tried a hard reset?
Are you sure, you do not have an hardware problem? Normaly you enter the bootloader by pressing power button and making a soft reset. Maybe this switch is blockated by anything....

XDA won't start
Dear forum users,
I own a XDA I, which is sold as PCT 206 in Turkey. The original OS is ppc 2002
I also have the same problem on my XDA 1. I used up the battery to the end and after plugging the charger I got the bootloader screen.
At that time a had a cooked rom ppc 2003.
I tried to flash from SD to the original ppc 2002 but I still get the bootloader after soft and/or hard resetting.
Does somebody have an idea.
Best regards.
Sounds like the power switch may be stuck if you are entering bootloader from soft reset.

by the way... i have no more access to setup options at start... any idea about how to fix this?
Is there a way to access to RAM using IR or USB without init windows CE thanks a lot
lambertoh, you have a different problem, you need to reflash your phone using sd card method again, it might be helpful to try a different memory card.

disasterous upgrade failure of XDA II

Hey guys and gals,
In desperate need of help. Tried to upgrade my himalaya with the Asia O2 XDA II WM 2003 SE Upgrade.
Upgrade was unsuccesful; upon turning on the XDA there are only two things on the screen; near the top, it says 'Serial", and near the bottom, "v 1.06".
The xda will not respond to hard resets nor soft resets. What can I do to recover from this disaster? When cradled, it will not connect via usb to activesync.
If this is not user servicable, does anyone know a good place in Melbourne, Australia to fix the himalaya?
Any help is appreciated!
When it's docked in the cradle, does SERIAL change to USB?
Try this:
Take out the memory card (if you have one) and the battery. Not sure why the memory card, but mine had problems with it in when I tried to upgrade.
Wait 30 mins or so for the battery backup to flatten/wipe everything (You loose everything on a ROM upgrade anyway)
then plug the battery back in and recradle it and simply try starting the flash again.
I've had similar problems, but this has always worked here and we have different devices, but I feel confident that the same solution may work.
had the same problem... my solution was docking it in the cradle (it does not show connected) and reinstall the ROM
Failed upgrade of XDAII
Hello I was in the process of updating my XDA rom and after 50% was copied to the device it dropped out.
Now when I power on the XDA it hangs on the O2 screen and my rom flash program cannot talk to it.
I have tried taking the battery out and leaving it for an hour but this has no effect.
Any ideas?
Installing rom from the SD card on boot
Is it possible to do this and if so how would I go about it?
If I cant get an OS on it its going to have to go away for repair for 3 weeks.
Also have you done a few upgrades on your XDA2 and on the same PC?
I had the same issue with my XDA2 as I was upgrading to 2003SE (before getting a 2i) and I could not get any further than the USB 1.01 screen.
I installed Activesync on a laptop, put the USB in and put my 2i in to complete the installation. Then, I put the 2 in and tried rerunning the upgrade...worked first time! I'd spent 6 hours on my PC trying to get it working.
Worth a try, certainly!
Cheers
Anthony

disastrous xda upgrade
try consulting dr. stein or toenailed or xda jojo and zeroxtreme. these are the tech guys in southeast asia. they're very good!
Have you tried rebooting into Bootloader mode (hold down D pad in centre position, then power button and soft reset - all at the same time), then trying to rerun the upgrade?

When you started the upgrade did all seem to go as planned? Did you have the power cable plugged in whilst upgrading? Did you notice any strange messages when it started to upgrade, and how far roughly did it get before you started having problems?
Also, what was the software version before you upgraded? Any ideas?
Cheers
Anthony
Hi Anthony: Everything seem to be going ok and then..
the screen went blank. I did have the AC plugged in during the attempted ROM conversion from Chinese to English and I tried rebooting into bootloader mode and nothing.
Do you think my 02 XDA2 can be fixed ?
Thanks
downgrade XDAII failure
Pals ,
I also facing the same problems , now my XDA II is blanked and only
Serial and V1.06 written ,
can anyone in this forum help ? please eeee ?
thanks
if the screen shows you something like serial1.something you're still okay. do a couple of hard resets; then put the unit back on the cradle. as expected activesync will not recognize the device BUT double click the upgrade file again.
this happened to me when i went to wm2003se; forgot to do a soft reset and proceeded with the upgrade. what i did was uncradled the unit, did a hard reset (screen still showed serial1.06), cradled her back (nothing happens here) then doubled clicked on the upgrade file. it proceeded accordingly until the entire process was completed.
dont' fret, as long as something's still showing on your screen you're still a-ok.
Thanks Robs..
I will try...
Yeah, after hard-resetting the unit, it seems that it did not reset because the serial/usb letters & v1.07 at the bottom of the screen is still there. But if you drain the battery, then put it back in the cradle & restart the ROM upgrade, it will work. At least it did for me.
As I've also said but seems to have been ignored, try running the upgrade on a different PC...you may be surprised!
Cheers
Ant
thanks Anton ...
I tried so many times in my pc until the sync wont work anymore , so i tried to do at my laptop ... still same .... should i change to another pc again ? pls advice , thanks man.

O2 XDA not startup - GSM OK

Dear all,
I am new to the XDA phone >o<...recently, I had O2 XDA phone which I tried to go to the boot - loader menu (power on + reset)
and now I could manage to go back to normal startup...
is there any expert here could kindly advise me what to do ??
many thanks
Just do a reset....
Stefan
thx for the reply...
i press the reset button and I can only hear a "Click" tone from the phone and the screen still doesn't show up
The only way to make the screen showing up is by pressing reset and power button together (but it brings me to the boot-loader screen)
>_< crying
Maybe your ROM is defect.
Try flashing a new ROM on the device....

Hi,
have you sorted this one out? I have bought one and have the same problem - when I do hard reset, Wallaby boots and diagnostics is shown. All tests work. When I do soft reset, backlight of Yes and No buttons is on for a while but nothing is on the display and Wallaby just makes some very short sound. Then nothing, no Windows in the house. Anyone has an idea? Thanks.
// edit:
I have made some progress: while in the state when the display shows nothing and backlight of buttons is on, the device, while in cradle, is able to be connected to with activesync. Hope I have specified the problem little bit more.

Drat. Got to this one too late. Sorry
Anyways, the Atom does have the tendency to lose track of its own extended ROM (You can actually see this happening if you use the WM5 hidden storage revealer - which ironically happens to cause the problem sometimes as well).
Symptoms include:
- A phracking long boot time (>7 minutes, seems to hang)
- Screen goes out of alignment
- Camera, Autoconfig, Equalizer don't work.
- Hard reset doesn't help.
- EXTROM info is missing from device settings (shows as blank) - tho sometimes the device works without this anyhoo.
- CMOS version is also missing (the device definitely won't work in this case)
Probable cause:
- Someone or something just tried to write to your hidden storage root. (Eh?)
Far as I know there's no method to recover other than flashing your phone again. Just one of the design flaws of the Atom, I guess...
(Yes, I feel for you. I had to solve this myself too, and I didn't want to send it in. Thankfully, this isn't a common problem. )
I've just downloaded the latest Rom from seeo2.com hongkong and I had the very same problem.
My XDA Atom Exec is frozen at the O2 screen.
mun66, if you read this, could you explain how you fixed it?
thanks.

would you plz tell here which rom u used for this ????????
Well, my Atom Exec will do the same sometimes.
But the following method works everytime!!!
Take out the battery. Charge it with a charger until full !!!!
Put it back to the machine, it works every time !!!
Or you may try just charge it in the machine for a few hours and see if that works. Since I always have a spare battery charged, every time that dumb thing stuck, I just changed the battery and it waked up again.

You guys just need to go into bootloader mode before performing an upgrade. For the XDA Atom just press Power+Dpad(center)+stylus reset momentarily, and its now in bootloader mode. RUN again the Update program. If you still experience the same thing, the update file you downloaded might be corrupted. You have to download again and flash your device again.
Mine is still stucked in O2 though done all of the above ways,
got the new ROM and flash it, but still stuck in it.

You might want to send it in the the service centre for a check, just in case it's a hardware problem.. If you still face the same issue even without installing any software..
That's probably a good idea, but i'd like to try some tricks on many threads before.
And also I've heard that O2 service center are not cool

Do keep us posted..
I will face the same problem if i install too much programs.. I guess it's either Pocket Plus, Diary 2 which is causing my problem.. Now wondering if i should change to Atom Life, since they announce WM6... If only there's a perfect phone.
Thank God, it's working after 5x flashing but it still had bug.
I still have to take the battery off for at least 15 minutes if I try to reset the Atom.
Sure 1 thing for ATOM, IT SU**S!!!
i have a friend also has a trouble like this ,but he has solved the problem when he charged the exec. do not you have a try ?
I just picked up one of these to play with.
Mine gets by the O2 screen but if I have a few apps on it it loads the Today screen but then freezes and won't let me access anything either by hard key or screen. Soft reset just repeats the cycle.
This is with only around 4 apps loaded. One of them must be a culprit?
By the way, it came shipped with WM6.0 (ROM: WWE_RC2170507B2).
