This will hopefully turn into a sticky that will have nOOb instructions on how to cook a kitchen; thereby answering all of the basic questions on how to use DCD and others kitchens.
Post your best instructions here.

it does bring up a good topic though: the wiki
go check out the kaiser wiki... check out the wiki for alex's roms... the documentation is unbelievable. we need to work towards this for titan. i do not have time to do it from scratch... people need to start building the titan wiki and i will edit/contribute all i can.

Ok, I took the hint and restructured the Titan Wiki to begin to make it more useful for the people here. If you have thoughts on how to improve it, let me know, there is still considerable development and information to add. Or you can update it yourself, its not too hard.
More updates to the Wiki
Added a Kitchen tutorial page and updated several others. Hyins and dinominant have also contributed. Thanks, lets keep the ball rolling.
Rschell, great idea to compile all the necessary info but would it be to much to ask for a link to these new additions?
Thanks in Advance.
beat me to it. lol
I edited an htc mogul wiki...but i dont think it's the same one. hah
So I created these instructional videos to help newbies out with loading ROMs etc.
TO ADVANCED USERS: I know that these procedures are not new but the instructional videos have seemed to help a lot of newbies and I think it would benefit anyone weary of attempting these procedures.
Please don't post how this is old news, I am well aware. These are just for newbies to help them get started. It also should help eliminate newbies asking the same questions over and over as most are answered right under the videos, and I'm sure you'll appreciate that
MODERATOR: Please sticky or add to any tutorial threads for the sake of the newbies.
Hope this helps some people out! Enjoy!
If anyone wants me to do any other videos in particular please let me know.
How To Load HardSPL, Radios, and a Custom ROM -
http://theunlockr.com/2009/09/13/how-to-load-a-custom-rom-onto-your-windows-mobile-phone/
Good morning,
I do understand and appreciate your post... But I do have a question:
Apart form the HardSPL flashing process, why don't they/you suggest flashing both ROM and Radio via SD Card?
It is faster, safer and cleaner...
Wouldn't you agree?
Kudos to you, anyway. It was a good idea to post this video.
Cheers.

The Creator of the hard SPL is the great Olipro/cmonex
Nice work...
Hopefully this will help a lot of people
It would be great if there was a simple How to section, where genius' could post stuff for amateurs (like me)
eg
How to ... root your hero (for noobs)
etc
Cheers

By all means..... care to write it???
Most people posting processes/procedures here will assume a certain level of knowledge, and aren't really in the business of writing "... for dummies" guides (no offence to anyone). As has already been said, search is your best friend because all of the information you require is available - you just need to find it.
As an aside, with the later ROMs you need to use the Goldcard method to downgrade and root your Hero, and the procedure that has already been given is about as simple as it is going to get because it is a complicated process.
Regards,
Dave
Funny, I thought all the thread stickies at the top of each forum were mostly this kind of information... its pays to search, read first, ask later.
Especially here
Let's not forget the Wiki, which can be updated by anyone. If you find what you need while searching, update the wiki yourself so that other new hero owners can also find the information easily....
Hi there, please accept my apologies if this topic has been posted (many times) before, but I am having trouble wading through the excellently huge amount of info on XDA-Dev, and am finding myself more confused than informed by the time I have gone through one or two threads Roms.
So, may I ask some very simple questions about what is a Rom, what it does, what information will be specifically interesting for me, what 'Flashing' does, a simple step-by-step ABC of how to 'upgrade' my HTC HD2 with a new ROM to make it work better, and what you may need from me in order to be able to focus my query in the right direction.
Again, apologies if this is a much hacked subject, as I'm certain on such a forum, with the very knowledgable and creative developers it has, you have been approach more than once on this very subject.
Any help is most apprecited.
Oops. Just saw the Sticky for the HTC Q&A forum.
Could you please move this to there? Thanks!
Hey Sir,
What type of HD2 do you have? If you are from the US and have a US T-Mobile phone then read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
If you have UK version of the phone please read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
Any other questions can be answered by reading this thread:

I'm certain this question has been posted a few thousand times. But I just got an HD2 again. I've been away from this scene for about 10 months. I was here for the beginning of the SD card integration Android when things didn't work well. I'm back with a HD2 I got from a friend. It has windows mobile 6.5. And I don't even know where to began to get Android on this phone. Here's the info that may help me get pointed in the right direction.
OS version 5.2.21913
Manila version 2.5.201814240
Rom version 3.14.531.1
Radio version 2.15.50.14
That's what's on the phone currently. I tried follow a few threads but they all turned out to be a dead end until I change my SPL version. If anyone can at least get me on the right track so I can at least make some progress that would be great.

So why did you ask again and not read the answers that was given before?
There is plenty of answers, stickies, guides for you to read, no need to create new topic. You will get your info more efficiently by looking for it

Actually I did read a lot of information but I got confused on what I needed to do. But I figured it out on my own. Thanks for replying anyway.

Can people please stop just saying "the answer is out there", and actually post links to help future readers? Posts like that are as redundant as a duplicate thread. If you don't have anything constructive to say, please don't say anything.

I agree with you on that.
This is what I did to fix my issue so if someone else had the same problem they can hopefully find the right answers.
My issues was having SPL 2.10.000 on my phone.
I needed to install 2.08.000.
All i needed was to download HSPL3 and then follow the apps prompts and when the options for 2.08.000 SPL or 2.08.000 came up.
I chose the 2.08.000 SPL and it changed my SPL to 2.08.000.
That allowed me to follow DFT tutorial for installing android.
Otherwise it wouldn't allow me to progress forward with my old SPL 2.10.000
Here's the links I followed.
For HARDSPL info:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
For DFT Android info:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893620
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893620
Here's a Youtube video showing you the steps to install DFT's android after you have the correct SPL insalled.

Because its easier to point out to look for it then it is to actually do teh work for them and find it.
It will be better for the OP's in the long run if they learn to look and find the information they want/need instead of posting questions and relying on others. As teh OP stated he foudn what he was looking for and probably learned something in process of doing so.
The best way to learn all the processes is to do research and not to simply create a topic every time they want info.

It still does not help the forum in the slightest. If you have nothing constructive to say then you really shouldn't say anything.
Think about this... If it hadn't been for my comment about unhelpful responses, the OP may never have posted his findings, so you could at least think about encouraging them to do that in the future.
Now, if someone finds this thread through a search they'll find some solid information, not just someone saying "search the forum".
I think we want the same thing here - an easy to use forum where people can find answers easily
For NAND Android you need 2.08.HSPL not 2.08.0000
Run HSPL3 and select 2.08.HSPL
Make sure that the RADIO on the phone is 2.08.50.xx or any .50 above.
With regard to your friend's phone, if they want to do the same, then they have to flash the phone with an 2.08 or 2.10 ROM, as this will bring the SPL down to where HSPL can be run. HSPL doesn't work with SPL 3.03 (which comes with the 3.14 ROM).
