Greetings,
Well I took the plunge today and cooked up a ROM with your 2.3.1 and so far everything works pretty good except for one unexpected thing. The mini-usb audio output seems to have quit working properly. With the stock ROM I just kept a mini usb to 3.5 in the car, at the house audio, and on the end of my Bose phones and could launch a player or SelectRadio and listen awaw. With the new ROM I plug in and the little speaker mutes like it should but then the sound does not come thru the socket on any of the 3 devices. I did discover by accident that if I plug in the adapter to the unit then the 3.5 into the adapter that it would play, but only until I change stations or the sound is inactive for 3 seconds exactly, then I must unplug and do it again. Just to be sure I flashed back stock ROM and it fixed it, but going forward again breaks it again. Any Ideas ??? Tips ??? Help ????? Thanks everyone or anyone.
there are a bunch of threads on this but there is a big 5 page thread in the Titan forum about it. nobody has fixed it yet...its a huge problem for me as well. so far nobody has fixed it, but i don't think dcd has tried yet.

ok, we have a 4 page + thread going in the main Titan forum, but many upgraders don't read that part of the forum very often i think. it seems a great number of us can't get any audio using adaptors with the various gps roms installed. You CAN get audio with the standard usb headphones, but i have yet to see someone getting audio using an adaptor like the one here:
http://www.semsons.com/2miusband3st.html
a number of us have this exact adaptor and it worked with previous roms, but there is no audio with the headphone jack with the gps roms. loading an audiopara file located in the dcd's 2.0 thread does not work either.
anyone have any idea how to fix this problem? thanks.
I've reverted to the official release rom because I couldn't stand the evdo cutouts, but I didn't have any issues with audio with my adapter.
I didn't try WMP though, I only used TCPMP. I don't see why that should make a difference, but maybe it did?
I have my Mogul set up as both a GPS system and MP3 jukebox in my car. I have the "factory" tester rom installed and use a 3.5mm adapter in conjunction with a fm transmitter. The one issue that I had was that the 3.5mm headphone adapter had a right angle on it that when used in conjunction with the headphone and power dongle covered the power connector. A small screw driver and black electrical tape solved that by prying the pins holding the plastic housing around the connector I then just moved the wires so that it was a straight connector and then sealed it with electrical tape. I not only have access to gps and my mp3 collection, I can even make and answer phone calls.
I just went outside and plugged the phone into the car using the usb/audio adapter that came with the phone and a 3.5 adapter on top of that. Streamed some music in wmp of the internet then loaded up tomtom. Everything worked just fine.
maybe the adaptor that came with the phone still works, i'm not sure....but many who have the adaptor linked above for some reason it no longer works. not sure why.
yeah i never could find a 2.5 to 3.5mm adaptor so i bought the one i have...the same one knivesofice is talking about..come to think of it i dont even think i could even find the adaptors that came with the phone because they were useless to me
Still waiting for a fix?
Anyone have a clue if No2chem or DCD are working on this issue yet? Great releases both of them, many props.
Or should we just be waiting for the next release?
Using No2chem .XX42 release. No love from my adapter.
I am using this adaptor

it probably will require reverting to the old wavdev driver and old audiopara. that may require other driver rollbacks too. have not worked on it yet...
Wow!
Wow DcD thank you SO MUCH for the response.
I will wait patiently for the next release.
I know you have a zillion things to work on too.
If there is anything that we in this thread (or I with the adapter in my hands) can do to assist you in your work please let us/me know!
I just tried the 2.2.1 release and the adapter does not work with that either.
Oddly enough, when I hook the y adapter with the usb/2.5 prongs up to my xv6800 then use a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter it works! Odd, and that 2.5 to 3.5 adapter was from Radio shack.
Thanks again.

Guys the seidio adapter here works if used in conjunction with the included HTC Y adapter that goes from the special mini USB on the mogul to a mini usb for charging and a mini usb for headset. If you plug this sedio adapter to the headset jack the external audio functions normally for music, system sounds etc. The seidio car charging/stereo cradle(at a hefty $119) works great for in car gps, stereo MP3 player etc. I will post some pics of my setup later. I'm very happy with the combo and I'm using the DCD 2.1 rom right now.

that adaptor is so much more inconvenient compared to the one i linked above...the one linked above in my original post always worked before. it can still work if changes are made, hopefully dcd will be able to get us up and running again.
I hear ya, but in the meantime this is a work around and it does work I prefer the car kit as I use the mogul for my gps, mp3 player etc in the car. I am going to post some pics in another thread of my gps/mp3 setup in my car. It works incredibly well and looks great too!!
Seidio mount works ok
For what it's worth I am running the "stock" 3.16 and my seidio 4700 mount works ok.

anyone had any luck getting it to work yet? or know if the 2.2.6 dcd or the new no2chem roms fix this problem? Cant wait for a stable Gps rom to come out that supports the adapter. I will be all set after that!

it would rule if someone could fix this. so far it still a problem for many of us.
I have the same adapter that's linkes to in the op. It works for me. I'm running dcd's 2.0.0
But, here's the catch..
You gotta plug in the adapter in to the phone first with nothing attached to the adapter, then plug the headphones into the adapter after that. It works like a charm for me.

Well ok I am still messin with this but have some prelim results :
The adapter that comes with the Titan works perfectly in any combination of plug in/outs and programs except that the 2.5 to 3.5 mm adapters I have get only right channel if pushed in all the way so just pull out 1 mm and ok, but the whole thing is a pain.
The 'Box' looking 2 to 1 Y adapter works if you plug the adapter in firte and then the phones or line out, but apps like SelectRadio and SlingPlayer that release audio adapter during channel changes drop out 3 seconds after the sound stops playing exactly.
My straight usb to 3.5 mm is floating around the office somewhere so I can not test it yet.
Found my straight mini-usb to 3.5mm and it works perfectly with everything. The same headphones and line in cable and audio stuff, and I have 2 of the 'box' type adapters and they both mess up. Maybe a resistor difference or somthing electrically different in the 2 different types of adapters, I will figure it out and fix it and post what it is in this thread. Thanks DCD man you are the man;-)
There seems to be some differences in how the stock and the 'Box' do things, like the 'Box' mutes the built in speaker right away, where as the stock one toggles it when the 2.5 is pluged in or out. I need to find a mini-USB jack with all 5 (yes 5) pins and mess with my ohm meter because I think that the spare pin has a play in this switching and probably will come to play here.
does anyone know if it worked correctly in my 1.6.10 rom/kitchen
I have a Seidio cradle(which has a built in audio out wired adapter) in my car and also have BT in the car. This setup was working great for music and nav audio through the stereo via hard wired aux audio(adapter built into cradle) and when a call came in the bluetooth would take over until end of call then would revert back to sound from aux audio out into car stereo. This initially broke in WM6 with some of the early roms but was fixed in 2.3.2 DCD kitchen. Now, with the new roms it is broken again both stock and 3.0.1 kitchen. The issue is that when I have my phone plugged into the Seidio cradle and thus have it plugged into an aux audio adapter for sound, if I try to make a BT call or answer one, the sound comes out of the audio out adapter instead of the bluetooth!!!! Same thing happens with a Seidio audio adapter that I have that goes from mini USB to standard mini stereo jack. This didn't happen with 2.3.2 but I would like to stay with 3.0.1 due to improved GPS lock speed. Man, this is driving me nuts. Seems like every time one thing starts working better another breaks!!! Thanks for any help in advance and thanks again DCD!!!! You are awesome!!!
BTW, I think this is a different issue than the semsons adapters are having. I am getting normal audio from the audio adapter for music the rest of the time. The primary issue is that bluetooth doesn't override the audio adapter when a call comes in. Anybody else seeing this with the Seidio audio adapters? Thanks.
I have this same issue when i want to use the phone through BT. Hopefully it is just a simple reg key entry.

update on this. I just went back to DCD 2.3.2 and 3.27 radio. This issue resolved and for some reason my GPS lock speed is a lot faster than before. Not sure why. Also, data speeds for me are much better with the 3.27 radio. Close to double in most areas I am usually in. Obviously not endorsing for everyone but I am happy with this setup unless something else crops up.
I have completely lost the sound from external speakers and coincidentally this has happoened since upgrading to AP4 though I am reasonably sure AP4 was NOT the cause of it. But am posting to see if this has happened to any of you. I was using an external stereo headset in the 3.5mm jack and after pulling it out, the speakers on my 7501 don't work. The weird thing is the phone will RING out the external spekaers but the actual phone calls, media player or notifications won't play out the external speakers. It is behaving as if the unit thinks a headphone jack is still in the 3.5mm slot when nothing is there. The USB port headset won't work either which leads me to believe the unit definitely thinks a 3.5mm headset is plugged in when one isn't. Everything else works perfect. Thoughts? Solutions? Please help -- can't send it in for warranty work as I cannot downgrade back to the original HTC WM6 build because of the AP4 upgrade.
Plenty of people already experienced this problem. Try to use the search function next time.
Nevertheless, here's the solution (probably):
First set up you Athena to play some music, so you can hear immediately whether the sound is working.
Then, try to poke around in the 3.5 jack using the headset (or something similar in size). Inside the jack there's a loose contact which makes your athena think a headset is still plugged in, even when it clearly isn't. After some poking, your sound should be working again

To avoid similar recur best consider a good stereo Bluetooth for music and phone.
I’ve encountered before, repeating inserting a 3.5mm jack may not always resolve the issue.
You guys are the best! (Actually I did do a search but couldn't find the problem referencing the Athena). Anyway, wiggling the headset jack about twenty times in and out reset the loose contact and restored sound from the speakers. I will not be using the 3.5mm headset again. Thanks for the help!

This problem has beset all HTC devices from the earliest SPVs, a matchstick or paperclip often help but a BT headset is easier.
Same problem .... but still not solved
These guys really are the best.
I got the point as to what the problem actually is, Still after poking the 3.5 jack in and out many times the sound (songs n calls) is still not working.
though the incoming ring is working. any suggestions pl .
(Anyway because of this problem i downgraded to spl1.2 and now using mincy's 2.04. it even solved my TCPMP not playing flash vids prob.)

Just to make clear what is happening, the 3.5 socket mechanically disconnects the speakers when you plug in the earpiece. over a period of time the spring contact looses its springiness. this leads to a poor contact and off goes the speakers. by poking this contact you are moving it till contact is made. you are best stopping using this socket if it is showing these signs before you loose sound all together. I am sure you can have a new socket fitted but I bet it isn't cheap. As already stated its best to use bluetooth.
Hope this makes things clear
Jay
If you can get your hands on one, you might rather use a headset with a extUSB jack. For instance, the standard headset from the Touch Diamond works fine on the Athena.
I have my Hero's original handsfree and since 3 days ago only 1 earpiece is working, same thing happens with my mp3's ear headphones and other handsfree from my friend, all of them work on 1 "speaker" on my phone. I mention that all the above work flawlessly on my friend's phone. First I thought it's the rom, so I changed the rom (Android 2.1, 2.2, 2.3) but with no success. Yesterday I tried plugging in my regular headphones (those that cover the whole ears) that I use on my computer and both of the "speakers" work. What can I do ? Small headphones suddenly aren't fully working but my normal headphones work great.
Everything was working great until 3 days ago. Tried on calls, Rom's music player, video player, youtube, some online radio player, different music players, video players, no results. Please someone help me with an idea of what's going on and how to fix this.
"Hardware" problem. Try removing upper button from the volume control, usualy there is the place where wires are soldered to the circuit. - and usualy there they broke
Hint - to be shure try another working handfree before blaming phone/soft/firmware - HF must be for Hero for everything to work, and you may just put ordinary headphones to test left/right channel sounds.
I'm not blaming the soft or my handsfree or headphones or the firmware but I dunno why is it reacting this way ! But leaving the handsfree beside for a moment I dunno why the ordinary headphones work on both on L and R "speakers"... but the ones that go in the ears work only on L or R "speaker" and this ones work great on my mp3 player. They also worked on my phone until 3 days ago.
I've disassembled my phone and there's no wire on the jack slot .. it's directly connected to the main board and doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the bond. It's not possible if you think of it. Gonna call an exorcist for my phone or something gonna take it to the shop in the morning maybe they can take the evil from it thanks anyway
Edit : The guys over the phone shop fixed my problem ... there was something f**ked up in my Jack slot or something. Now I can use my handsfree again
maybe i was not correct, but in my case it was in teh "control box" of handsfree, i never opened the phone.
Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllo XDA peeps.
so ages ago we all got the marshmallow update and i must say, issues have been a real thing. I did consider ROMS but too risky as i use this phone daily for business's and such.
Anyway so one problem I can not find across the whole internet is the AUX cord problem, now when i drive, I plus in the cord and this notification appears saying "Headset is connected" then disappears, then repeats almost 8 times and lags my phone which after this, goes to normal and finally works. However!
I found that in lollipop I had never had this issue, I just plug in and it works perfectly. As well as this, I found its not a hardware issue, reason being is that other headphones work, every set of headphones i plug in work like a charm.
I have cleared data and cache from smart connect, even disabled it and nothing. Ive booted in safe mode, nothing.
I really just want this sorted as I love this phone, I do. Im not sure if this is a Marshmallow update bug or something but if any fix can be found or advised to me; Id love you forever, because i miss being able to just plug in and play and not waiting for this bug to simply calm itself from this spasm.
Lag is an issue, I have no clue why but it seems the newest update caused things to get hot, lose alot of battery quick and just plain ol' lag. Any fixes on this to is perfect, at the moment though I iwsh to get the AUX cord fixed as a priority to lag.
Anyway, thanks guys and hope to hear something soon! After all, this is a 007 phone, bond never had these issues
Are you sure its not the physical connection on your phone? May it happened to get damaged when you upgraded MM.
Headphones work fine for me. I recently got a rental car with no bluetooth and bought a cheapo stereo cord to hook to the car's speakers and I saw this occur. No lag though. The major annoyance was that goggle play music would stop thinking the headset was unplugged. After some dangerous debugging while driving, it seemed like one end of the chord was defective. When I swapped the problem went away.

Literally nothing hardware related, the cord in my car works fine with other devices. It's very weird and as I say, I did a short test and found that lollipop on this device actually creates no problem, I then updated tonight and found it happens again.
I think it's more software related and I hope android N is just a pure wave ?
I have the same issue.
So so many problems with this phone ?
I have the same problem as well. What I do is plug the jack, wait for it to finally recognize it and then launch the app I need
