Is my atom a brick?? - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom ROM Development

when i power on my atom,
it only flash the orange led and never work anymore,
even if i reset or push the power button,
it happens nothing.
the only way make me think it's not a brick is to replace the battery,,
keep holding reset and center button then put the battery on and off many times,
then i put the battery on and release all buttons,
it goes into the bootloader,
then i connect atom with usb cable,
my computer shows unknown device.

Hi there,
If you plug the carger in and the red light shows, then it's charging. If this is the case you may be able to put it into bootloader and try again, but with proper rom.
hope this helps

SO TODAY IAM TRY TO FLASH BOOT LOADER FROM JTAG PORT, AFTER FINISH FLASH PROGRAMED MY ATOM STILL DEAD.
SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP...
Okay, firstly dont put everything in caps.. its EXTREMELY annoying. Secondly, the device turns on correct? if it does then just try flashing from either your PC through Activesync OR via a memory card with a ROM on it. Consider using a stable ROM from either a ROM Chef or the O2/MWG website.

Haii.. thank you for your respon soon.
for your information my PDA totaly malfuction. that no respon when iam press power buton+camera buttonto go to MN1 boot loader .
only red lamp on when the PDA connect with charger battery.
Hmm okay.. so that means it still charges. You should try charging it for an extended period of time and then turning the device on. If the device comes up with the Manufacturer logo then you should just soft reset it and hold down your bootloader combination and go from there. However, if it doesnt even come up with the Manufacturer logo then you should consider getting it repaired.
Hii...i was do to charge my PDA also iam test with volt meter that battery is full power 4,2 volt dc.

Have you search on wiki?
I've been through that condition, last night actually when I pressed the wrong button (Power Button) when the MN1 bootloader looked for diskimg.nb0.
My device was near to death. I couldn't find the MN1 bootloader on my device's screen when I pressed the CAMERA+RESET(stylus). It remains dead until :
-I search the solution on http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=ATOM_BRICK, I could see my device running its MN1 Bootloader
and looked for the ROM (diskimg.nb0) again and continued the ROM installation process
How to get the diskimg.nb0 please read this page :
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=ATOM_SDCARD
Maybe atom pure had the same step with atom exec when we try to solve the Brick Problem.

Entering BootLoader Mode:
1.Remove Battery
2.Press Camera button and hold it while insert the battery.
3.Press Reset with stylus (keep holding camera button)
If you're lucky, you'll be directed to bootloader mode.
try to push the power & camera button together while inserting the battery and then enter the bootloader mode camera+reset button.
My Atom Life (was) dead, too
..but only for awhile
this happened when I tried to flash this Bajok ROM.
I'm not new to flashing, but that kinda make me 'a little' careless this time.
I transferred the .dio file using active sync explorer while doing other stuff with my laptop.. soon after, I see that the file transfer is done, cause the window is closed. As usual, I do the rec button + reset ritual and flashed away..
I again continued my other works and got mesmerized in it for a moment or two.
Half an hour later I realized that my atom has been showing bootscreen for quite some time..
My first failed flash! Well, I thought, this is it...
Just to make sure, I pulled out the battery, put it back again and reboot.. still the same stuckness... Then, I figured that since this was caused by ROm flashing failure, why dont check the .dio file? So I did. I pulled out the memory card, put it in a card reader and explore it.. I notice that the .dio file is only 18 megs.. whatta..? The original .dio is like 70 megs, so it must had been transferred it incomplete.
So with high hope, I retrasferred the file, this time completely.
I inserted again the battery and repeated the rec button + reset ritual..
Boot loader appeared and flashed away like a charm!

[Q] tmo-hd2 wont go into bootloader post task29

Hi guys, i am facing exact same thing which dannytgt faced (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6707785&postcount=1 )...but[/url] with no luck what so ever.....was running a stock rom in my hd2 3.14....wanted to try wp7 and did a task29....after that...hd2 doesnt go into bootloader screen....tried all possible combinations with/without sd,sim, holding vol down, vol up, both with power tapped...power holded etc etc...hd2 always goes into stick together screen and doesnt progress as there is os to load....opened up the mobile and tried with a pin to push the vol down switch directly also....all hardware keys were working gr8 (including vol down and up and power keys) whn win 6.5/android was running.
i know for the fact that this is reversable....if only my hd2 can get to bootloader...i will hv os running in a jiffy....
any ideas ppl? my hd2 is 3 months old ...no warrenty cos i bought it in US and using it in india...

Wow, did you search? There is a thread right below yours with 13 comments for the same problem.
i did search for 2 days and tried the suggesting provided by the users...but nothing seem to work....i just need to get to the bootloader so that i can load a rom and move on to wp7....after task29...somehow hd2 never goes into bootloader screen...tried many times hoping for luck...still trying...
bootloader dont load
some more details...tried to task29 (doloop) with 100% success and then my tmo hd2 wont go into bootscreen what ever i do...its stuck for ever in "stick together"...i know there is no os to load...but i dont understand y cant my hd2 go intobootloader
so far i tried
with holding volume down and power key with a single tap
with holding volume down and holding power key
with holding volume down, volume up and power key with a single tap
with holding volume down and reset button
with/without sim
with/without SD
with/without plug in wall charger
with/without plug to pc via usb cable
observations...when i pull out the battery and put it back in and then connect to computer when the phone is still off....the charging indicator LED glows in orange.
when in this mode if i switch the phone on with power/end key....it doent start...i have to pull the usb out, the orange LED still glows...and if i tap the power/end key nothing happenes...i have to pullout the battery to get it to start and eventually get stuck in "stick together"..
would really appriciate if any1 can help me get my hd2 into bootloader screen...
resolved the problem myself.....hd2 is working like a charm....thanks for all your support.

[Sola] Phone does not turn on

How can I remove the battery and do a "force boot"? The phone is stuck on the recovery screen. I'm unable to restart/boot.
I think the only way it's to remove the battery.
Can someone helpme? the battery appears to be glued to the phone.
Thanks
Update:
I was able to execute the recovery and restore my backup. But after that the phone turned off, now It does not turn on at all.
I'm trying the power + volume up. The phone respond with the first vibration, then the next three, then, nothing happens.
The phone does not connect on the PC. There's no connection. It's not recognized by flashtool. I'm unable to update, change roms, I need to at least connect it.
if I plug the usb cable the red light appears and keep blinking slowly...
Press and hold power button and + volume button until it restarts.

You may have to disassemble your phone to remove the battery.I don't recommend it.
My God.
Now it broke for good.
Everything was fine. I was able to make it restart pressing power + volume up.
Then I entered the munjeni recovery again, restored the yesterday backup, the phone booted. And then no show, no image, nothing, nada.

Z2 bricked and can not turn on

Hello, guys
I upgraded my z2 from 5.1.1 to MM. It's existenz v1.0.0. It worked good. I wanted to downgrade to Lollipop 5.1.1 . I entered TWRP and restored the ROM that I saved before. I press "reboot system" and then It totally backed out. It can not turn on. I pressed power + volume up, it didn't vibrate. I tried, tried... many times but it didn't work. I use the flashtool to downgrade. When I pluged the cable and pressed volume down. The red light just flashed, flashed and flashed and nothing happened. What is that problem. Can I save my phone anymore. Plz help.

Have you tried pushing the red button for 5 seconds under the microusb cover flap to completely reset the system?
Does the device get recognised in the DeviceManager, if so have you installed the correct developer.sonymobile[com]/downloads/drivers/xperia-z2-driver/ drivers for it? (you could also try it on ubuntu)
Are you sure your connection / cable is good?
Have you tried to boot into theandroidsoul[com]/sony-xperia-z2-flash-mode-54084 flashmode? (volume down), does it get recognised then?

Ah, this doesn't sound too good. The good thing is that the flashtool works, but since it doesn't help you may try a method called "test point". But if you decide to do it, be very careful not to touch anything else with the paper clip (if you touch the small component with the metal surface there will be sparks coming out).

Bootloop and battery won't charge

so i was flashing existenz MM and i can't go to recovery mode, before installing it i have xzdual recovery installed, so i thought i can just flash it again (and ofc it was stupid because after that i just know xzdual won't work with MM) so it's bootloop even when i charge it, the problem is the battery died and it won't fill the battery, the phone keep restarting when plugged in with charger so it keeps draining the battery before it filled up, i can't flash it because of that, the question is, how can i fill the battery so that i can flash it using flashtool?
thanks, and sorry if my English is bad.

The phone should also be able to charge in recovery. Try that.
Btw. I recently flashed a Z2 via flashtool with an unplugged battery (usb power was enough), so you could also try flashing it now although it's empty.

I would first try to flash just like it is now, without opening the back cover.
Opening the back panel is the last option I would consider, but only if everything else fails.
The thing with opening back cover is, that you will most likely damage you back panel, and you will have to order some new, fake raplecement + the phone won't be waterproof anymore.
And if you can get your phone into fastboot mode (and you've got unlocked bootloader) then just use "adb fastboot flash boot boot.img" command to flash some kernel with recovery.

Have you tryied to plug it in and then press power and volume up continiusly until you fell three vibrations? i think this is for reseting the phone if you continue to press until another vibration it will shut down and maybe then it will charge. It won't probably charge in fastboot/flashmode.
But it's very strange that the PC won't detect your phone when trying to enter flashmode.
Because, as I said earlier, I was able to get Z2 into flashmode without any power (battery taken out).
There should be some change in device manager when you connect the device.
Are you sure all the drivers are installed on your PC?
