i have the latest kitchen and i opened it........ there isnt any noticable proggie there that builds a rom (at least that i can see).........can someone help me out with instructions or a link to some good intructions?

I'm a noob and it took me awhile to figure it out too. I created a new empty folder on the desktop. Then using Winzip or Winrar (or whatever zip program you use) select all files and EXTRACT them into the empty new folder you created on your desktop. Then run the .bat file you see (buildos or something like that). There will also be a bunch of additional folders inside your new folder...don't worry about those. The program pretty much runs itself after that. You can pick some options...then click the small green arrow in the menu bar and some stuff happens in the background....finally it will produce your ROM and you follow the onscreen intructions from there.
Kinda on the same note ... can other aps be added to the rom? ie ... say Handbase, SPB Pocket plus ... Obviously I'd love to build a rom that would if restore my phone like I like it after a hard reset ... not sure if you can do this ... but if so How? I'm currently using a "cooked" rom from the same
kitchen ... would just like to cook it some more

yea your can add stuff like that get the cab file and make it a oem and when u make it a oem go to the kitchen folder and u will see a folder name oem drop it in there run the buildbat and u will see it in there if u have any questions just ask me here

UC? ill do a search on it. well i think all i really need to do is instal some new today screen .cab files and ill be golden. do i have a file manager somwhere and not know it? or do i need a new one? if i need one any suggestions for a good one?

really what i want to do is learn how to install cab files into my phone
all these cab files come with

Hi I'm having the same problem. I tried running the .bat file and it comes up with the same error. You wrote that you fixed it, but didn't say how. In the future it would probably be a little more helpful if you wrote how you fixed it. Thank you very much guys.

I installed a dialpad skin without removing the previous one (i forgot!)
To make matters worse, I then installed a third one over the top (again forgetting to remove the first two) to fix things
I now have a severely messed up dialpad.
What is the easiest way to remove all the dialpad skinning and get back to default blank settings, without hard reset?

have you tried removing the last skin from the remove prog. and then soft- resetting...
these are spb-dialpad skins that you used

the iphone dialpad you have is mostlikely for the eten dialer...in which case there is not much you can do...how-ever if you would like to build a dialer just uncompress the spb dialer cab...these are the file with the dimensions that you need to make

I use IZArc. It's free and can handle most archive formats including cabs. I use it for everything except zip, which is native to Win XP.

use this theme it is VGA and it solves the problem it is WM6 VGA dialpad theme for WM5 devices. Hoop that it helps try it !!! after installing retsart your Athena or Ameo and you will see the WM6 dialpad VGA theme.

you need cabmanager to do the job i have PM'd you the dowload link download and all the instructions are included there !!! you can extract all exe files or any files from CAB and you can make CAB files !!! it is the best prograam in managing CAB files !!

Hello I'll make this short. For those who where having SMS issue when flashing new roms. Meaning you read the messege and didnt tougle up or down to select new text leading to manila saying you still have 2 messege unread. And in reality you already read them but the notice never cleared. To fix this issue you had to either highlight the bold text to clear it, or you could have switched off of threaded messeges. The problem come from a dll file called htmlhome. This file can be located in the windows dir and I am supplying a working dll file that I test myself and has removed this annoying bug for me so enjoy.

Here is how to install, with total comander unzip into the windows dir and soft reset. Test and you will see that it works
ps. I have a at&t fuze so please make sure you back up your original if this doesnt work for you.

have not tested but same file, dont know if its unistallable, so be safe and back up, if you try this fix say thanks it will help those who are not aware there is a fix

open "TC", go to folder where file was saved, double click on file, select and hold dll file till sub menu pops up, select unzip, click Tree option, select windows folder (windows folder on your device not storage card) click ok, and click ok. let me know if you need more help.

not a problem, i dont know how this happene??? it worked fine for me. is anyone else having this issue would be great. when posting bugs can you specify if you tried other software prior to the fixs? what model phone ar you runningand is it a custom rom? dll files can be tricky but as long as you followed my directions you will be fine. i would suggest you do a clear storage and before you apply any other dlls try the one i posted and reply to this thread to see if you duplicate that error.

i fixed it (the SMS problem) i sprite back up'd everything but the htmlhome.dll folder, then hard reset, then restore. so its fixed now.
I'm running Fuze, RC3 Rom and am scared to do this again.

oh Im happy you got it back up. I noticed you posted a question inregards to this issue in another Thread. I hope you can get it fixed I know its an annoying little bug. Well cant say I didnt post on the first thread to back up your dll file. I made a cab you can try that but its the same dll and you still need to back it up. but for the most part the files been a success. Good Luck buddy.
ps i tried the fix on the rom you asked for a fixs and it works on that one but the chef fixed it on his latest rom (currently testing without my dll fixs)

yeah back up your htmlnote.dll file somewhere out side of the windows folder. install to the device and it will install in the proper folder(windows)ps I didnt run it because its already fixed in the rom I am useing but it would be a good idea to keep this cab handy if you ever need it again

Unfortunately, this doesn't work in Windows Mobile 6.5. It gives you weird artifacts in the threaded message screen. So heads up if you try to install it on a 6.5 build. However, it IS uninstallable (if you use the CAB). So don't be afraid to test it out!

Downloaded the zip file to my desktop, then activesynced it to my phone. Opened it in File Explorer on my FUZE and used the preinstalled zip program to extract the file to the Windows folder. It asked if I wanted to replace the file and I said "yes to all." Worked immediately! Thanks!

Just download the Fonts.zip from that copy Titanium_240x320.cpr and place it in windows it will ask to rewrite say yes but before that take a backup of old Titanium_240x320.cpr
Then copy the fonts and paste in /Windows/Fonts take the backup of the old fonts for safety.
Enable Titanium.

yes purely my efforts..testing took a lot of time coz the orientation wasnt fitting properly and then modifying the .CPRs for transparency and position of the lock plus the Photoshop work for the lock .pngs making them transparent..i think the experts can simply use the .CPRs in their new upcoming ROMS..lets c..

remove the "read only" and/or "system" attribute from the original file first using resco or some other powerful file explorer.

You can't if you are using File Manager, use TC / GS Finder/ Resco Explorer... Anything but file Manager. You still use it????

well i was not using the default lock 4 many of the previous builds,so never used it.
Now am giving it a try and am just bout happy
can you make a cab for the transparent slider please, also, will this work on hd2 still using sense. it does still use the titanium lock screen even if sense is enabled, i think??? lol

I tried various searches on the forum, followed various instructions like Long_end.lnk etc. Nothing worked. I don't want to install a 3rd party app. I would prefer a registry edit, or a cab file install which can help me remap the key to a specific program.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

These kind of .cabs usually do the same as editing the registry yourself.
Look for Dutty's Task Manager.

However, After doing that, when I press Long_end button, it tells me that the app cannot be run as it is unsigned or a component cannot be found. Weird.
How did you overcome that error with XDAShutdown app. I'm trying to use the Slide2Shutdown app.

i had no problem at all with xda shutdown. Check that the shortcut you created is renamed properly and that it indeed works by manually clicking on it.
It needs to be EndKeyLNK.lnk

Hey buddy,
If you're still interested - basically what you gotta do is copy the endkey.exe to the Windows folder, and then create a shortcut of the program, and rename it as endkeylnk.lnk and copy that to the Windows folder as well.
I just integrated all the steps and made a cab file (I also happen to have the exe file for Slide2Shutdown). So nothing needs to be done manually. Just install the cab, and voila ... long-press-end-key runs the Slide2Shutdown program.

I found this thread as I was going to try to get my old X1's Smaberg's actionscreen working with the off button (worked fine with the HD and the X1, not the HD2), then I found he'd got it working already.
It may be of interest to some of you, more options than xdashutdown.

Too many choices, buddy. I tried it and went away from it. I also have cabs for the BT toggle, Lock Device, Send Rec All, etc. So I just install the ones I need.

Made a cab, which can be installed, and pulls up Slide2Shutdown on long-press-end key.

Great!! I was looking for something like this a while ago. Didn't found anything so I created my own work-around. I came up with this. Although the above solution is more simple, my solution has the advantage that you can add mortscript code in it.
Just copy the new exe over
Thanks to the contributions to this thread I was able to change the long press end key behavior...
Only I was so lazy that I didn't want to create a shortcut file and copy further files. So I only copied the original exe over the EndKey.exe using Total Commander.
And it worked immediately without soft-reset.
Given the old file is in ROM I suspect I just have to delete the copy to recover the previous one!

Follow the instructions in post number 5. to create a shortcut (incase you didn't know) you long press on a file and then copy and at the destination long press in empty space and then paste shortcut. You need to find the .exe or link that launches smart lock. Create a shortcut to it and rename this shortcut to EndKeyLNK and copy it and the file contained in the zip attached to post #5 into the windows directory
i got a locked hd2 WM 6.5 thats never been modded. i found a taskbar theme that i want to install. how do i install it this taskbar?
How do i also install a custom dialer pad?
Tweaks and mods usually come as a cab - this is a self extracting installation file which you copy to your phone, double click, restart, done.
There is a protection built into the system, especially for the taskbar, you need to install a certification file first - as seen in this thread.

hi, tictac0566. i downloaded the certificate .cab and its on my sd card. but where do i open it on my phone?
It depends, of course, where you stored the cab. Maybe search it with the file explorer, double tap on it, there you go.

certification file is required for few applications which are protected otherwise they won't work. This will not affect the battery life but make sure you install appropriate taskbar as per your ROM build, i.e. 6.5 or 6.5.X. otherwise you may have to hard reset your phone.

'sdkcert.cab'. i think i have a 6.5 stock ROM. i can tell you that its an unmodded TMOUS phone. let me know if this certification file is appropriate for my phone. thanks.

sdkcert .cab will work but make sure you download the taskbar for 6.5 only, if you download it for 6.5.X then it will not work and you have to hardreset. Given below are few taskbar threads,

jeetu, sorry for my late reply.. and thanks for your reply. i got a question. i want to install just the taskbar from the Dusk Evolution theme. The following is the link to that theme.
