Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I came upon a method mentioned in various forums on how to play Google video, Youtube and others directly using TCPMP.
It only works with PIE, not Opera or other browsers.
First uninstall any TCPMP you have installed, then install the attached (TCPMP cab) either on the Device or SD card. Then install the (Flash video Bundle cab) to the same location as TCPMP, ie. on the Device or SD card.
Restart the Prophet and then go to the Programs folder. There you will find an icon labelled "video sites". Click it and PIE will start, then the rest is easy, just choose from the provided menu.
It is amazing how well the prophet can play streaming video clips!
thank you.
will try it out.
Try program vtap
The program vtap has the capabilities to play any videos without having to convert or use other programs. Try it its pretty cool plus it includes a wikipedia.

While it is easy to say: Search for a topic, if you actually do try searching, the results are usually very poor.
There are various threads about Wizzstar, and Vtap, but none relate to this post directly.
Perhaps you would like to comment on the subject of the post: the convenience of clicking on links to go to a streaming homepage, the ease of playing or saving a clip through the popup-menu, or the quality of video playback.
I think that would be more constructive than your sarcastic input.

I used Menneisyss tutorial on my SPV M600=Prophet without any problems. On my XDA ATOM i used the same tutorial.
Both programs can be used on ALL WM5.0 devices. Pocket PC (Phone ed) and Smartphone. Oh yeah I also used it on my DELL x50v

Pocket IE
Fast, stable network connection
The VideoLoader plugin is not compatible with PPC 2003SE or below, and it is not compatible with Opera, NetFront, Picsel, etc. However, it is compatible with PiePlus and MultiIE.

Look at my post:
"I came upon a method mentioned in various forums on how to play Google video, Youtube and others directly using TCPMP"
Quite clearly, I am attributing the attached cab files to other posters on various forums.
There is no statement that claims it is my work, or that I am trying to get "famous".
It is very simply something that I found very useful and wanted to share with others on this thread.
End of Story.
how to add sites?
this one works really good! i am just wondering if we could add additional sites on our own, say myspacetv.com???
so with above method, the video comes out choppy. Any fix for this?
Also how does this method compare to the m.youtube and htc streaming media method?
It's been a while since this method was posted. Is this the best way to get video on the mobile still? Is it limited to certain websites that cater only to mobiles or will it work on any website... the real youtube, mysace, ect... that are meant for pc viewing?
thanks
ahora voy a tratar de instalar este programilla
Ok, try this found on Kaiser forum.
Works on my prophet and Touch Cruise Just one cab. Tap the screen whilst viewing a video and it rotates 90 degrees
Quality is good, just make sure you use it on wifi unless you have unlimited data.... you have been warned
You can also save the files on storage card for viewing later, so playback is then smooth/not streaming I LIke it.....
Hi!
Thank U timmymarsh for your cab. That's exactly it, what I was looking for.
Working like a charm, even download option works.

glad to help, although its not my cab, i just tested it on prophet and to my delight it worked, id tried other methods described elsewhere and quite frankly this pisses on them ENJOY
Upcoming kitchens/roms from dcd (3.2.1), no2chem, and others will be based off a new kernel that causes TCPMP to crash on startup with an error mentioning "crash.txt".
milesmowbray has done an excellent job modding TCPMP for use with the new kernel. Read about it and download the latest .cab here, or my version is attached below.
FlashVideoBundle 1.4.4 by zbop works with his modded TCPMP. Read about it and download the latest .cab here, or my version is attached below.
I've also merged the two .cabs into one oem that's working great for me with dcd's 3.2.1 kitchen, also attached below.
I'm sorry, but I won't be able to offer support for either app, as I'm not the author and only brought the .cabs into a single oem for use in a kitchen. Please post problems with either app in their respective threads.
All credit goes to milesmowbray for TCPMP-0.72RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03, zbop for FlashVideoBundle, and of course dcd, no2chem, and the others that tirelessly scour the internets for ways to improve our titans!
**Note: As of 7/9/08 video.google.com's main page isn't working with FlashVideoBundle 1.4.4. Find the link for "Explore more videos >>" near the bottom of that page to be brought to a working page.**
Just what i was looking for.

anyone else getting this?
Wierd.
NIS 2008 says it's clean, and nothing strange has tried to get past the firewall. I know Norton Antivirus can miss things, but the firewall's usually pretty anal.
Does AVG give any details about that infection? If you extract the .zip, which file in particular is suspect?
strange, I just extracted the cab and scanned it and it did not show this time. I even tried downloading the file again?? false positive here??
is there a version of the TCPMP v0.81 unofficial hybrid that works with the new dcd rom?
I'm curious, what does v0.81 do that v0.72RC1 doesn't?
I don't think v0.81 works with FlashVideoBundle...
0.81 plays wmv/wma, and yes 0.81 works with FlashVideoBundle.
it crashes on the new dcd rom though.
thanks
Latest sprint rom was getting crash txt errors. this cured them...thanks.
I installed the CABs from the first post, but I still can not view videos on youtube, google, and others. I have the treo 800w if that helps. Also, TCPMP does not give the crash.txt error. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If you weren't getting the "crash.txt" error msg in TCPMP, these files weren't for you. You should be able to follow the instructions in the "read about it" link for FlashVideoBundle in the first post.
Only newer roms require the file versions I posted.
WAIT
This did eliminate the "crash .txt" error, but i can not view videos on utube.....help? This does play older saved videos (utube) on my sd card, but nothing plays from utube.com. Thanks in advance.

you have to use the flash video bundle then from there when you go to youtube you will get the option to play or save the video and you can watch it either way.
Thank you......update....I CAN play utube vids current and old ones saved to SD card. 1 wierd thing though....i can't play any vids saved to my favs on utube's website...hmmm.

I tried the TCPMP-0.72RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03.zip and crash error is gone. Thanks! But can't play wmv saying something like "audio codec(windows media audio) not supported by player! Can anyone help!!! Thanks!
BTW, I am using omnia
is there anyway to configure opera to play flv with tcpmp?
im new
im really new to the treo 800w ,, i was wondering how do u downloadthose links,, do i plug my phone in the cpu using the usb?????
Anyone having audio sync problems like me?
If you've already set TCPMP's "Manual A/V offset +/-" to -400, I don't think I can help.
[Resources]Working AT&T CV Videos, Mobitv, Media Net and Media Mall on custom roms
I could not find a thread with a working solution. After hours of testing and reading I have a working solution for AT&T CV Videos, Mobitv, Media Net and Media Mall on custom roms. I have not tested on none AT&T phones but it should still work.
1 Install custom rom
2 Install opera.ini to \windows\opera9 or \Application Data\opera9
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=6d3a1e8e1f30ec60d2db6fb9a8902bda
3 Go to start\settings\systems\about\device id. Change device name to HTC_P4600
4 Soft reset
Go to cingularvideo.cingular.com and try watching a video. Media Net and Media Mall works as well for downloading games, ringtones and more. If you use mobitv then go to http://www.mobitv.com/supporteddevices/unitedstates_mobile_at&t_mobitv.php# and put in your mobile phone # to get new version.
Note: Some roms do not work. Htc streaming media will fail to play video (File re-entry error). Patch is posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3236379&postcount=1584 Thank you NotATreoFan for fixing the cab.
You mentioned on Rup's thread that you got CV to play using his 4.3 rom- is that correct. I have stayed with his v3.3 rom because I have almost no issues with it. The only one being that I have never been able to get CV to work again.

You can use zoom to make the screen fit with non fullcreen veiw. Go to the menu in htc streaming media. Choose zoom\zoom in. Do that 2 times and it will fix the size. Im glad it worked for you.

I don't know if this helps but I went to the internet proxy settings and put in the following:
wireless.cingular.com
saved setting and Media Net worked...but 1 problem came up:
I lost between 500-600 kbits in speed. I was getting 1800-2000 kbits on my Fuze before and then after I was only getting 1300 to 1400. My guess is that going through the proxy slowed me down.

Thank you Thank You Thank You!
It's really been bugging me that my Fuze, "the most powerful Windows Mobile phone yet", hasn't been able to do something I could do on my 8125 and Tilt!
I don't use Cingular Video a ton, but I used it some, and I always want all my options available.
Thanks again. You're the Ace of the Day!
Opera settings to enable CV
I just ran across an interesting piece of info- This might be of benifit. This is from this page. http://www.wmexperts.com/articles/howto/how_to_make_your_fuze_bloatfre.html
Here's how to get Cingular Video working in Opera again:
In Opera, enter "opera:config" as the URL.
Scroll down, expand Proxy, and for the HTTP and HTTPS Servers, enter "wireless.cingular.com:80" and check Use HTTP and HTTPS.
Scroll down to User Prefs, and for Customer User-Agent, enter: "HTC-P4600/1.2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en)"
That seems to do it. For PIE, I think the CAB in the Windows folder called "restoreHiddenProxy4CWS.cab" is supposed to fix it. For me, it makes device.home work (whoopty do!) but the cingular video pages come up as XML code.
Update- I tried changing these settings by themselves to no avail. What is posted on the first page ot this thread works. Sorry didn't mean to add confusion.
Thank you so much for this thread, this has been an issue that I have been working on for a while.

I have this in the opera.ini from the first post.
Link this thread to RRE's
Very good work body. I see that some people here mentioned they are using RRE's ROMs. Since RRE's is a FUZE ROM and the majority are AT&T costumers. Maybe it should be a good idea to ask "arupp" to have a link on his first post to this one, I asure you it will help a lot and save people a lot of time.
PD: not only for RRE's but all others creating FUZE ROMs.
Control Graphics off
I installed the .cab fix for CV that you have in your third post and it made it work... but the only problem I have is that the controls graphics of the player are messed up. I attached a screenshot.
Step 3 isn't needed. That's just what the default Fuze is set at. You can change it to whatever you want. The important stuff is the proxy settings and the user agent. That's the only thing AT&T's servers can read, and thus the only settings needed.
As a demonstration, if you have firefox, you can set the proxy to wireless.cingular.com and the user agent to HTC-P4600/1.2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en) and browse MediaNet and watch CV.
The file in post 3 is for roms that get file re-entry error while trying to play cv videos with htc streaming media. If you do not get a error do not use cab from post 3. The menu is weird after cab install. I am working on a fix.
Nah, not post #3, Step #3 in post #1 isn't needed.

Hey,
I'm wondering if the hero can play radio content from bbc iplayer website? I've heard that there are performance issues with videos on iplayer, but is radio OK?
(By the way, I know about the beebplayer app, which is great for video, but AFAIK doesn't play radio shows from iplayer, the only radio it had on the version I looked at is live radio. So I'm asking about listening to iplayer radio shows using the iplayer website.)
If anyone in the UK want's to try this out for me that'd be great. Here's a link to a radio show from yesterday, so if this works hopefully everything will:
bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b00s35z1
(I'm a new user so can't post links, that should have a "www" at the start of it really.)
Oooh, also, could someone check out whether this works on the hero:
news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_8633000/8633988.stm
It's another clip of radio from the bbc, but looks completely different from iplayer, so could be using a different tech for all I know. (This is how they include audio clips in their news articles, including on the Today program's site where they have all the interview from each show listenable individually, which is pretty handy.)
Thanks!
Paul
Tried listening to 1xtra from the iplayer website yesterday,... No sound played.
Trying your links now though,... give me a few minutes.
I have just tried your first link in the stock browser.
Results are as follows:
- loading
- loading seems to freeze
- loading again
- loaded details of show (no sound yet)
- seems as though its trying to play but keeps refreshing its little window
Error - "Insufficient bandwidth to play"
This could be as I only have 2 bar 3g or following BBC's guidance you need wifi connection.
It looks like it wants to work though so if someone can test with a wifi connection.....
Nope,... Im trying with wi-fi,... No luck though. The 1st link loads up correctly, says its playing, but there is no sound and the time counter does not change.
Was the same using my data connection yesterday.
I'll try the 2nd one now,.... Dont get your hopes up.
Nope,.... Sorry,... Its a no go.
Just keeps loading, and loading,.... and loading!!!!
EDIT,....... Tried with Opera and says need to install Flash player,.... DAMIT!!!! All i want to do is listen to 1xtra,... and BeebPlayer doesn't work for me. Maybe we'l get a better browser with 2.1,.... or we'll have to hold out for Skyfire to be released.
That sucks. Thanks for trying though, and for the very speedy replies
beebplayer app now supports radio! only in the last few days though. oh and you will need the new version.

Hey everyone-
I don't believe this question has been posted before, I did do a quick search before posting so don't shoot me, lol. Anyway, I downloaded the APK for the media hub from the JI2 update, and I currently have Eugene373's daily driver rom installed. The previews work and everything, but when I rented a movie, the Blues Brothers, and I try to play it I get an error message saying: "Your device does not support the requested file format." If anyone can help me I'd be much ablidged, thanks.

I RENTED a movie so I believe it works differently. I know if you buy a movie it can few viewed offline so maybe it works differently.
Ok so this is really weird, I opened the video through the stock video player and It showed the time length of the movie but not video or audio
do you have voodoo kernel installed? I read in the voodoo thread that some videos wouldn't play on voodoo kernel wheras they would on stock kernels.
I installed the whole JI2 and the hub player worked fine, bought Iran Man and watched the whole thing. Did take around an hour or two download. Try playing while connected to WI-Fi I kind of remember that you need to do that for the first minute or so. Otherwise Sorry
Where are these files stored? Is there a specific folder?
I'm having the same problem. Maybe its because its not made for the vibrant. I've tried other video players frome the app store and got nothing. They all want to play off the sd card and the movie is only on the media hub app.

Though this is merely an educated guess (as really I have no clue, and no desire to pay for DRM-ware just to check), but it's likely there are at least a few system integrity checks built into the playback capabilities of video downloaded via MediaHub in an attempt to thwart hacks.
Remember, Samsung has a vested self interest in making MediaHub a closed system, and this may include their app doing enough integrity checks to say "no way Jose" when running this app on a non-standard rom. Granted, I have no way of knowing for certain if this is indeed the case, but it wouldn't suprise me if it was.
This is generally how DRM laden systems work.
