Is it possible to make the phone vibrate when an sms has sent successfully but the sent message notification is disabled?
Thanks!

Now that I've upgraded to 2.1, I've noticed something weird. When the phone is on vibrate and I receive a text message it doesn't vibrate anymore, but when getting a call it vibrates. HUH?
I was gonna post this in the 2.1 after effect but I figured it would get lost in that huge thread.
Thanks.
There is a setting in the Messenger app called Notification Vibration, maybe that has to be turned on in order for it to vibrate for text messages even if the phone is set to vibrate?
Thank you JDDawn, that was it.
Where is this setting
Go to messaging press the menu key and go to settings go to notification settings then scroll down to vibrate and click always

Just checking in with the community on this one. I have vibrations enabled in the sounds menu but the phone does not vibrate when I receive a phone call or text message. The phone DOES vibrate when I type and for calendar alerts.
Am I missing an option somewhere?

For texting to vibrate you have to check "vibrate" under the sounds menu and then in the actual messaging app, if you go to settings, there's another checkbox or "vibrate" .. I couldnt figure out why mine wasnt vibrating last night. Turns out it was checked in the messaging app, but unchecked in the settings->sounds.
Is there a way to disable the screen from turning on when a notification is received? When I go to pull the note out I'm either hitting random keys on a text or dialing something. Is there a way to stop that?

First things first..I assume you are sending a recieving text messages, so here is my question. What app do you use for texting handcent or go sms....
for example I use handcent ass my messaging app so in the settings of handcent this is how you disable the screen on when you receive a notification.
Setting>Notification settings>Notificaton Settings (again) >scroll down and a box will be there were you can turn on/off the screen when you receive a message using the pop up option.
Idk if this helped but.. if anything let me know what apps your using or the version of android your running. The more info you post the more we can help you. Thanks
My Galaxy S3 doesn't give any New SMS notification on the Screen Lock.
Why is that?
How to make it show New SMS notification?
It shows notification of missed calls on the lock screen and also the blue LED blinks,
but no notification for new SMS?
Try clearing data on settings

Have you opened your stock messaging app and gone into settings? There should be a sent notification option-uncheck it or put the notification sound on silent
I have been on it, but there's only the option to turn it off for incoming messages which I don't want to turn off. Just when it sends.
Rooted? Yes? Go to "/system/media/audio" search for the appropriate audio file in those folders inside "/system/media/audio" and rename the audio file or delete it.

Did you get this resolved? When you are in notification settings of your messaging app, did you scroll down to where it says sent notification and un check it or turn off the sound that is below it?
