USB Sync'n Charge stopped charging but still syncs - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Accessories

I noticed that my sync n charge retractable cable has stopped charging my BA because while it is connected, the power keeps dropping and on one occasion completely drained and switched while connected overnight. It can still sync though, and the charging light is on. While connected the power setting screen displays charging. What could be wrong? Do I need to get another sync/charge cable? It can still charge with a wall charger, though.

are there any programs running in your BA?
are the backlight set to the minimum?
how about your battery?
i've had an experience with a "kinda same" event like this.
with my old battery... im playing music while plugged in.
and it seems my battery is discharging more power while charging less. it couldnt compensate with the discharge so its climbing down slowly rather than charging up.
but.
when i replaced a new battery it didnt happen again...
i know it will occur again as my battery wears out.

where to buy?
yo silvah! can u buy usb sync-n-charge sa pinas?

just pmed you!

wow!
I know this is off topic but i gotta say it. Airfagev, pinoy community rules!! who started this site anyway?

GPS & Battery Charging

I've noticed that when using TeleNav / ATT Navigator, my battery doesn't charge.
I do a soft reset and stop using GPS, the battery begins to charge.
This has happened with several Roms, so this leads me to believe that it's an equipment issue. I don't know if I'm alone with this issue.
Something like this is easy to overlook. The only reason I noticed is because I had to use GPS a lot more than usual and my battery went out while it was supposed to be charging.
If you're using any type of GPS, take a look. If you're good or not, just state what you use.
Thanks.
Mine will charge when I am using Garmin or GoogleMaps.... I have noticed that if the phone gets to warm it will still discharge even if it is plugged in. Keep an eye on the temperature of your phone!
Thx

I've got my phone mounted on a spare belt clip i attached to my dashboard and ive noticed the same thing. there comes a time after it's been charging for a while when the light stops "breathing" but the battery is not fully charged. As far as GPS, i figured it wasted battery faster than it could charge, since i also have bt and the display stays on. I've been meaning to try it with an A/C charger in the car instead of the 12VDC. I'll let you know if theres any difference.
Thanks ...

I noticed the HEAT, my TILT did the same thing but it charged. The only issue I had with the TILT is when the battery is under 30%, I would have pull out the battery before it decided to charge.

I'm using a mount also (15'' Gooseneck non-winshield). It starts out charging and then stops. I'll try with an AC adapter also just to see what happens.
There maybe something to this GPS & Charging......
**(used to keep post short)
I have the Ac charger in my car and it works wonders. If I run more than three things at once then it will stop charging. All it take is a soft reset. Then all is well. As most said keep an eye on the temp. BTW I am using Energy's 2.0 040509 build with TomTom 7.915(9196)
Thanks Max, I figured the AC Charger would be better, it always charged very quickly at home.
Noticed the same thing on a six hour car trip. I use a gooseneck windshield mount and have Garmin XT and bluetooth to the stereo all the time. After a couple hundred miles it stopped charging and the backlight goes off, making it a pain in the ass for looking at the GPS screen, any suggestions? are u using a ac adapter and than plugging in your home charger? BTW am using an old Motorola car charger from the early RZR days.

No difference if you use a 12v or a 110v charger.
The TP warms up and at a certain temperature shuts off the charging so it will not extra over heat.
I place my TP where the AC can cool it down and since then - it will charge for hours.

That's freaking hilarious. I do the same thing. I notices my Fuze would stop charging when plugged into my car charger if it got too hot, so I simply positioned it where my AC would hit it. Now I don't have that problem anymore.
I tried the AC charger in the car....same thing.
Tried Google Maps also. Basically when I use GPS, charging stops when the device got warm. My device didn't take long to get warm....about 2 minutes.
There's gotta be away around this other than placing it on the air vents. The TILT performed much better with GPS.
my results
finally got a good long run with gps on I-95 and this is what I found:
1. According to tBattery, the 110V charger and the 12VDC charger were the same as far as charge being + 100 with the gps on, so the battery would still be charged if gps is running with the screen almost full brightness, BT on and a data connection.
2. Also according to tBattery, the temperature got to above 46 degrees when I noticed the phone was no longer charging, whereas at home it rarely gets over 33 degrees. The current showed more than 300 negative under these conditions.
SO technically, once the phone stops charging due to temperature, the GPS with screen full on and all the rest tend to drain the battery. Even if the phone is plugged in to the charger. If only it would stop charging the battery but at least take power for the device from the charger, that would have been good.
So I'm going to reposition the device on my dash to where the AC vents can hit it as others have done!
I have two different chargers in my car. The one that will charge my touch pro while running GPS navigation is 5V/1A. The one, that will not charge while navigating has 5V/500mA (which is max. USB-power according to the specs).
Since TP's GPS consumes approximately 500mA (I've read that somewhere on the internet), there will not be enough power to charge. Keep an eye on this.
I went on a 1Hr trip....
AC Adapter-Got hot in about 8 minutes...stop charging, reset needed
Cig Adapter-Got hot in about 8 minutes also...stop charging, reset needed
Aimed the AC on the device...Device charged the whole trip.
Bottom line....Keep it cool!
Lithium Ion batteries in devices all do this as far as I know. I remember back when I used my Dell Axim x51v for navigation is when I found this out for the first time. It would sit in direct sunlight on my dash and quit charging within about 5 minutes of use. One time during the winter I noticed when I didn't turn my heater on that it charged for much longer. Then the light bulb went off in my brain.
Same thing went for my Q9H, Tilt, and now Fuze. A lil air from the vent helps a lot, and keeping it out of the sunlight is an even better option.

[Q] [Solved-ish-maybe?]Why won't my battery won't charge past 40%?

It's really odd.
The Atrix is my first smartphone, I been super excited to get it! Finally got it today.
Well, the battery's a little iffy. It won't charge past 40% on USB. If I do it via AC adapter, it gets to 40% and the screen starts to flash on and off and disconnects itself from the AC adapter.
I updated to the most recent system update, and I don't believe it's changing anything.
I appreciate any help I can get!
For the record here's the topics I checked out:
This guy cleaned off mold. No mold in my case.
This one is unresolved.
This one is unresolved as well.
Well, weirdest thing. I was playing around with it, and set it to windows media sync. It immediately jumped to 50% battery.
I plugged it into the AC adapter, and it charged to 60%!
It only seems to report battery in 10% increments, but I don't know if that's default or not.
if it disconnects itself from the ac adapter, then you have a faulty phone.

[Q] Quick Charge

So guys i got few questions about it.
Lg v10 has quick charging feature so i wanna know that how that works.
its works always, and any % ? or there is a certain point for it to work. im asking this bcus today i had 10% battery left and i plugged in its original charger with original cable which supporting quick charge. it was charging normally till 32%. i realized that and i plugged off charger and plugged back again it was still normal charging . then i again plugged of and closed phone and plugged it back when phone was off. it otomatically started phone and i entered my pin code. boom it started to quick charge
sso can some 1 explain me that quick charge?
Also that hifi dac works with bluetooth earbuds? like hbs910 - hbs 1100 or samsung level u pro ?( sorry my bad english )
Hmm... I'm under the impression quick charge only works with the screen off. Could that have played a part in this?

My V10 also meets this issue. when your phone running out of battery at 0% lowest level, it is hard to activate the quick charger, i have to replug and unplug charger many times 10 times more to activate the charge process, the screen with phone and cable keep blinking and blinking...
But if your V10's battery still remain and you wanna charge, you just unplug and re-plug about 3 or 5 times, the quick-charge will activate. I have no idea if this relates to Software or Hardware issue.
SOLVED: my cable connecting my charger and phone is broken, change the cable, issue is solved!
Well I didn't think that I ll need quick charge since I was using z2 bcus I could have a full day no matter how much I use the phone. It was charging like in 3.5 hours. So I was charging it only when I go bed. But since v10's battery life isn't that good I realy need quick charge. I waited few months for bot buying first wave of v10 but still I bought first wave I guess. Let's hope it's software problem and get fixed soon

Well for me it works all the time. When i connect my original cable and charger i always get quick charge notification and it takes around 1 hour to fully charge the battery. I recommend though to leave the phone connected on charger for around 1 to 1.5 hour more if possible. This way the phone tops the battery charge fully getting additional around 200mA charge. You can install battery monitor widget from market and you will see that the phone continues to slowly charge after telling that battery is full. This stops when battery ot charged to the max.
0% to full takes 1 hour? that is rly nice since mine takes atleast 90 mins... even it says quick charging

*HELP* Phone slowly lose charging power

I have an Infinix Note 2 (X600)that have some charging issues
when i charge the phone i usually need to jiggle the cable a little bit to get the power flowing, but lately it gets much worse. when charging my phone need a lot of time to charge. The charger is not the original phone charger, it's a spare samsung charger i found lying around in the house. its usually works fine up until now. I checked the charging power in ampere app and i found that the charger lose charging power slowly over time. for example the initial charge rate is 900ma , the charge rate slowly decaying -10ma /5-10 second to a point where the charge rate hit 0ma. i could leave the phone overnight but instead of charging the phone it reduce the phone battery instead.
My initial thought that it's because the faulty charging port because i game while charging and janked it fairly often. and ideas of what causes my problem or a fix ?
second question: is charging ports of micro usb android is all the same ? or it's different per phone model, cus im thinking to get the port replaced
Long story short. Use the manufacturer recommend,if not the original.
Yes they will mostly work, but when you take the cost of the device into account....
There should be information on this within the website for the smartphone etc.
Ironically enough, my battery died while I was typing this and I was running a GSAM bat test using always the original charger.
In logics term's, you can always start a car with a much cheaper battery, but when you're taking into account of longevity over quality and anything else you can throw at it, all roads have intersections...
Please email the manufacturer, things not the 90s so you will get better support [emoji12]
In no way am I to be taken seriously at ehm 4am.. and there's the bottom of the barrel answer from my beloved XDA

Charging stuck in slow charge mode?

Never seen this before so thought I'd post and see if anyone else has this.
I work delivering groceries and they use iPhones for everything they do. They provide a chargers but since people are dishonest and steal them, the company buys more off brand chargers, the problem is they are el-cheapo chargers that only slow charge ie: trickle charge.
So I noticed this weekend my phone was draining battery while using google maps and GPS while plugged in. I found this quite odd because for near 2 yrs I've never had an issue while it's plugged in, it would hit 100% and stay there.
This time I noticed it was draining and also noticed a couple days after that, when I would plug in now, it told me it was charging, ie: slow charge and not the normal fast charging.
Even with my Anker charger in my car it did this.
Well last night I plugged into the iq side and it said charging, then I plugged into the 3.0 side and it then read fast charging.
Here's where it gets odd. Now that I have used the 3.0 side of the charger it reads fast charging, even using the iq side of the charger it reads fast charging, where just an hour before that same port was reading as just charging/slow charge, It's like the 3.0 kicked it out of slow charge mode or something.
So, that got me thinking...... Is it possible that a phone can get stuck in slow charge mode some how?
Has anyone else experienced this?
I now do not have an issue with it draining like before, so it has me wondering what's going on, why was it stuck in a seemingly slow charge only mode no matter what I did up until the 3.0 quick charge.

We have QuickCharge capability so no reason to use iPhone side of the charging port.

Right, this was an off brand I had used... Wasn't the typical iPhone charger, more a $1 cheapy charger, and most of those are 1.5 charging ports which is slow charge.
That's why I was wondering if using that some how the phone decided it was going to go into a slow charge mode only of some sort and got stuck there.
