I've tried searching the thread but couldn't find any tutorials as to how i could change the boot up screen of my atom without touching or upgrading my ROM.
Could anyone guide me on this? I'd like to personalize my Atom by at least modifying my boot up screen.
Thanks in advance
Been online and checking this thread every once in a while ( I think for like 4 hours now) Yet no reply still hehehe!
Hope someone could atleast direct me to the proper thread to resolve my request. Thanks again
hi there
i'll try to help you
as far as I know by reading in this forum, there is 3 bootscreen
1st bootscreen cannot be change without flashing, read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=370023
but 2nd and 3rd can be change without flashing, all you have to do is overwrite the "BootScr.bmp" file(for the 2nd bootscreen) and the "welcomehead.96.png" file (for the 3rd bootscreen) in /windows folder
however,
for the 2nd bootscreen must be 240 X 320 and 230,454 bytes in size
and for the 3rd bootscreen is 240 x 320 (size doesn't matter)
hope this help
@PiaL

thanks for you answer, but I wasn't looking for Theme-Creation for Windows (that's what I saw in the threads).
I meant the first Boot-Splashscreens which are burned into ROM. 'Cause I got an MDAII the first 2 Splashscreens are that ugly T-Com stuff, which I want to change.
The Thread I mentioned was about Tools for Creating .nb Files and I was interested, if this would work with a himalaya too.
So long

the first line in the thread is
"Helo
How can I chacnge splash image in WM5 version"
found
Hi guys,

Hi guys,
Maybe it is not the right place for this question, but I got the feeling that only few people are reading other places of the Prophet forum.
So here is my problem and question:
Instead of installing all my apps one by one after a new rom or a hard reset, I am thinking of including the apps into the extended rom folder. My question is "what may be the size of the extended rom folder?"
thx, all answers will be appreciated

Read the Wm6 Update guide. It can't be bigger than the base extrom image provided in the update package.
Edit : Gullum was faster
question
Hi Gullum and HMA4
Thanks for your quick answer. May I ask you another question, since you are maybe the most experienced guys on this forum. When you have typed texts for some time, some of you own words are added somewhere and these words are also suggested while typing. However, when you update your rom or simply hard reset your device, these added words are gone from the word suggestion list. When I restore a backup the list is back. My question is where can I find my personal added words? Maybe you can save them and restore them to use with a new rom.
thx again guys
Please guys can somebody give me a good rom on toshiba tg01 with ANDROID.
There is a lot of stuff but it is too complicated for me to upload and go proper for good working device.
Can somebody make some ROM for toshiba to flashing like a normal Rom like windows 6 not software which is working in windows mobile.
Anyway please give me some good working rom in one file!! cab file or file for flashing device.
Will you have some good working ANDROIND ROM for Toshiba tg01 with easy instalation ? If Yes please give me a link.
Your needs might be fulfilled at least 1 year later.

I don't see the reason for creating this thread unnecessarily when your exactly same post has been answered here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=672234&page=8
I am quoting the reply below (again exactly from the same thread!) by Lesscro
"1 - Hello
2 - Use original ROM...
3 - There is real "ROM" as you say... but only build developpement...
And there is no final version actually on Android... no need to search better configuration...
Wait for final and stable versionof ToshDroid...
My Advise...
See ya..."
You could follow the same thread where you are most likely to get more responses rather than this new thread! I think it won't be beneficial for anyone who tries to search for some information to look into 450 different threads if everyone started to post their questions as individual thread rather than addressing it in the correct thread!
*MODS* Is it possible to not have this thread any more!? (unless you see it useful in any other way!)

Hi....First of all let me say I am not an expert in tweaking android, but regarding bootanimation I searched and got some little knowledge.....
The boot animation is made using a serious of images. I have tried it using .png files and .jpeg file. Both were ok.
What you have to do is, you must make the animation in two series of pictures. The first part must be put in a folder and the second part (The part which will be looped till the phone starts up) must be in another folder. Next you must make a new text file with the name "desc.txt" and with the following content:
320 320 24
p 1 0 part1
p 0 0 part2
First line indicates that the pictures are of 320 X 320 pix size and the animation must be done in a speed of 24 fps.
Second line indicates that the pictures in the first folder ("part1" is the name for the folder in which the pictures for the first part of animation is kept) must be looped ones (The one after p is given for that).
In the third line, in the place of "one" a "zero" is given so the pictures in the second folder will be looped infinite times (till phone starts). Here part2 is the name for the second folder.
Now you have two folders with pictures for the animation and a text file. Now add these three to a zip file with the name bootanimation.zip. while making the file make sure that the compression method is selected to store only.
Now copy this zip file to system/media/
Reboot and enjoy.....Hope it will work!!!!! My animation worked!!!!
I have attached a sample file for your reference.....
All the best.....

Regarding rom cooking...Its not a simple process to make a line by line guide....I am also searching for the same from day 1......I have searched a lot and obtained very few things regarding rom cooking....Not even enough to cook a new rom....
What I have done is installed virtual machine, installed htc kitchen, selected rom made by some other guys, used it as a source rom for the kitchen and just added a few new applications to the rom, then repacked it and installed it....
for these things you can follow this link..." http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246 "
Also tried change some other features of the rom but didn't succeed....
Anyway from the search what I understood is that using kitchens the level to which you can edit a rom is very less.....you must follow the procedures given in this link " http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html " (it is an ocean) to install a development platform, other software required, and finally develop new roms...some knowledge regarding java and xml is also needed to do the task... I have tried my turn in that site but i reached no were.....still trying to get something....
Anyway hope you will understand something....all the best!!!!!
