I just updated my PRL to 60711 and my "Phone as modem" setting has somehow disappeared from the connection list; right now I only have "Sprint PCS" option listed. Does anybody have any idea what caused the above issue, and whether it would have a negative impact on data transfer speeds? Thanks in advance...

I have just purchased an unlocked T-Mobile Vibrant and it works well with my carrier' voice network by just installing my current SIM card into it. My carrier is Iwireless. The problem is that I have been unable to connect to their data network. I have contacted customer service for Iwireless and have obtained the APN for their network but any assistance beyond that they are not really forthcoming since the Vibrant is not one of their phones.
Has anyone succeeded in using the Vibrant to connect to Iwireless' data network? I had hoped that since Iwireless was an affiliate of T-Mobile that there wouldn't be an issue with the data.
Any help, hint or tips will be appreciated.
Since you already have the APN settings, go on the phone to settings-->Wireless and Networks-->Mobile Networks-->Access Point Names and there you can click the menu button (lower left corner) and select "add new APN" the put the settings they gave you and done... maybe restart the phone just in case after putting the new APN
I have already entered to APN I received from Iwireless and restarted the phone. Also from the Settings>Wireless and network>Mobile networks where I entered the APN, I go into "Network operators" and choose "Search now" to search for all available networks and this comes back with the Iwireless network IWS and also AT&T. When I select IWS it comes back and says that I am "Registered on network". I restart the phone and still no connection.
Are there other settings that need to be made?
Thanks.

I would first suggest looking at the 'mobile network' setting. Go to 'settings' -> 'Wireless & networks' -> 'Mobile network' -> 'Network Mode'. Try different modes and see if this makes anything better. If it's the obvious, it could be that your settings may only be set to 3g. Also, check the radio basebands. Also, I'm not particularly familiar with the ROM you are using as I use the alpha of CM7. So the settings may not be the same. Hope this helps!
So I rooted my phone and checked out the data settings (##3282#), entered my msl, removed the proxy settings as per usual. But then I ran into something in the LTE menu... it says "LTE available file".
Now my question is, do we know where this log is? Is it JUST a log? and can we exploit is somehow to be able to access the towers that are up, but blocked?
Don't hate if this sounds stupid =D
I recently rooted my EVO LTE using Regaw's "one-click-root" and S-OFF with Lazy Panda. I applied the De-odexed STOCK 1.22.651.3 ROM and 1.05.11.0606 radio and PRI 2.45_003.
Everything seems to have been running fine so far. But today, when I change the network mode to "CDMA only"..from "LTE/CDMA"..my 3G data is disabled. When I change back to LTE/CDMA and reboot my phone, my data works fine. Needless to say, when I'm home my WiFi serves my data needs, but I'm concerned I'll end up without data when I'm on the road.
After doing some research, I decided to download the Android app "Network Signal Info" With "LTE/CDMA" selected, "Network Signal Info" reports network type as eHRPD with a data state of "connected". And with "CDMA only" selected, network type is listed as EVDO Rev A, with a data state of "disconnected".
At one point I was able to "update profile" while LTE/CDMA was selected, and my phone prompted me to reboot. But much to my chagrin my issues persist. Can anyone offer me some insight here?

Honestly, I can't pinpoint your problem. There are a couple of things I'd recommend you try, though. First, try toggling airplane mode on and then off while in "CDMA only" mode. Then try the same with mobile network if airplane doesn't fix it.
After toggling those settings (remember to turn airplane mode back off/mobile network back on and check if your data connection is fixed), if you're still having problems, I'd try re-flashing your ROM (wiping recommended ). If that doesn't work, my last resort solution would be running the RUU, found here.
Try updating prl & profile, then reboot

After you change it to cdma only make sure you select "sprint only" in roam settings.

Hi,
Using the network Log app. I found this service named "Factory Mode" android.ui.system making network connections.
I would like to know what this is and if I need to be concerned or if I can stop the service?
I wonder it too. isn't there any answer?
