:::::::Skype users need help::::::: - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo ROM Development

Hi guys got some questions and maybe some developers can help. Ok , like most people in here i use my phone to its full potential. As of current I use my phone to do skype calls constantly. Problem with this is unless u use a corded headset or use bt toggle to get sound and mic to go to bluetooth. With the corded headset you get very loud and stereo sound and can use the attached to the headset to talk with, but ur stuck with this cable that leads down to your incrediably huge phone. Bt toggle works good but sound quality that comes out to the bluetooth speaker is sooo very low. Other than these two ways the only other thing you can do is use skype like a speakr phone, which i dont think anyone would care to do ( brick to the ear). skype does go to the bluetooth headset wonderfuly if you have a2dp (ie bt810) but the problem is that the mic doesnt turn on so again your stuck with the problem of talking into the device's mic. is there anyway to turn on the mic while ur in a2dp, sorta like a bluetooth toggle but with the mic instead , mictoggle? if we could have something like this added into AP4 that would be incrediable ( even though i know it would be awesome even without this anyways )

Phone ringtone over BT headset?

I have searched the forum but can not seem to find an answer for the issue I am having. I am trying to route the phone ring tones to BT headset, and can't find a software or a hack that does it for me. I tried Jetware hands-free soft, but can not enable that feater with that software because its grayed out.
Are there any other progs I should try to use, or is it useless with hermes?
I heard this worked with other HTC phones.
Thanks
K
Hey what's up man? Here's a little program that reroutes all sound from your hermes to your mono bt headset. Basically once it's installed, turn your bt headset on and hold down the call button on your headset for about 3 seconds. it will transfer over all sound once u have done that. gl.
but isn't it going to make BT awake all the time?
Is the battery going to drain fast witht his method?
thanks
K
nah the battery might drain a tad faster cause it's reproducing the ring tone and any other noises ur cell makes but bt headsets are designed to be on standby for days.. i hardly think a couple rings here and there will kill it bro.
didn't work
i still hear regular tones from bt headset instead of my ringtone...
is voice dial conflicting with it?
i honestly don't know.. it works with mine.. im sorry it isnt with yous..
try voice command 1.6 works great on my wizard

Would this work with the Hermes??

hi
I walk to work and back everyday and I listen to my DAB radio all the time.
Problem is (and I realise its not the biggest problem in the world) I can't hear my phone so always miss calls.
Can anyone think of a solution so I can get audio from my DAB into the Hermes so I can listen to the radio and when I get a call, it interupts the audio? I thought about using the mini usb but that only has a mic in and if I use that, if the phone rings all they'll hear is my radio
Its a big of an expensive solution but would this work?:
http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=TMR-BT10
So I bluetooth audio to my Hermes then use the wired headphones/mic to listen to it and if I get a call, the audio stops?!
Would that work?
thanks in advance
cel
You could just have your phone on ring AND vibrate and keep it in your pocket so you feel it.
Just an idea
Try these instead. http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/cat1150057/cat5420035/prod29780013
I have had a pair for about a year and the sound is great. You can connect the included dongle your DAB or any other non blue tooth audio device and set up a link between your phone and the dongle with the headset. While you are listening to your music from the DAB if you receive a call the headset silences the music and you can answer the call directly from the headset. When the call ends your music resumes automatically. I may be a little pricier than device you listed but works like a charm.
Note make sure you look at the 590a not the 590e. The 590e does not include the dongle.
Also don't purchase it directly from Plantronics site. You can get it for about $100 if you search the web for it.

a2dp mic on ?

ok we all have our lovely toys and are all connected with cingulars awesome high speed internet. some of us are probly saving mins by using skype calls. well thats what i do any ways. i picked up a plantronics 855 stereo and mono bluetooth headset. in mono mode it also supports a2dp so it seemed like u can use it to do skype calls but turns out that a2dp doesnt turn on the mic, so ur dependent on the mic on the unit instead of the headset. does anyone know how to get a2dp and have the mic on too. skype calls are saving me a fortune but cant always have my ear up to my beautiful phone ((( people tend to stare at u when u got a umpc like device up to your ear)))

Yes, there is a problem with mic in stereo headsets. I have Jabra mono headset and another Jabra stereo one.
If I use my mono Jabra, I can use BT Audio to redirect all audio including mic to the headset. Unfortunatelly this does not work with my stereo Jabra (320s). If I try to use BT Audio while using Jabra 320s, something strange happens and the audio system gets crazy, it usualy does not transmit any audio or gets stucked completly. That is why, if I have my Jabra 320s on, I simply use it as audio in, and the standard mic in X7500 for my VoIP. It works well and prevents against the echo effect. The mic in X7500 is very good, so I can keep it in normall distance of about 50 cm from my face. I use Aget phone for my VoIP, but it works with SJPhone as well.
Edit:
I have made my Jabra 320s (stereo) to provide mic in VoIP. I have unclicked the "Wireless Stereo" option in Bluoetooth settings og the headset. After this BT Audio works well and does not create any problems.
Now the only issue I have is to find some software which could work like BT Audio but from command line. I use Aget phone which can be set to start any software with command line, just before and after the call. This could be easily used to send audio with mic to BL headset just before the call and then return it to standard settings after the call.
Any clues...?

Ring on Phone even if connected with Headphones

Hallo,
what can I do to have the following behaviour:
I need to hear an arriving phone call on the mobile device even if I have connectet it to a Headphone (bluetooth or cable). (I often carry the activated bluetooth headphone in my bag but than I don't hear anny call because its only ringing in my headphone)
can anybody help me?
Several options. The easiest is when you put your BT headphone in your bag, turn it off. Saves your headphone battery, too.
The 2nd option is to disable A2DP on the phone. There are several apps out there that make this easier than going into Settings. I use a Today screen plug-in called A2DP Toggle, www.teksoftco.com, free. But the version I have is buggy.
The 3rd option is to disable BT on the phone, again there are tools out there that make this easier. A2DP Toggle can be set to also disable BT when you turn off A2DP.
I have never heard of a tool that lets you direct specific notifications to the various outputs but it makes perfect sense. There should be lots of options that we just aren't given in WM, like keeping the phone from turning off the backlight during a phone call.

The problem on this way is, that it takes some time to turn the BT headphone on. So I sometimes lost a call, because I was to slowly...
My BT Headphone has a standby Time from more less 5 days! - so battery is no problem.
The way to disable A2DP brings that I can't use e.g. Voice Command over BT Headphone, isn't it?
So maybe there is no solution for my problem?
(The Athena cant "talk" quit... so I need the Headphone, when I get Calls - I don't like that everybody how is around me hear what the "caller" tells me...)
Over the weekend I had headphones plugged into my phone with music streaming (via TCPMP) and a call came in. It switched the audio over to the external speakers, then paused it, and played the ring tone over the external speakers.
Just what you wanted, right? I'm using the AP4 ROM, don't know if that is the difference or just using TCPMP.

[Q] bluetooth speaker phone defaults

I am sure this may be an issue for some people. my car stereo has bluetooth that links with my phone and mutes the car stereo and turns on speaker phone when a call comes in. i like the fact that it mutes the stereo since i usually have it very loud, but my problem is i cant set it to default to the phone earpiece and not the speakerphone, even when i answer a call and press the button to keep it on the ear piece, it switches right back to the stereo a second later, i press it again and it stays on the phone. i have had this issue with all my other phones as well and it drives me nuts. is there anyone who can come up with a fix for this?
i appreciate any input anyone may have on this.....
thanks
It is not a problem with the phone, it is to do with bluetooth profiles as they are designed to communicate with TWO devices not THREE. I also use car stereo for playing my music. I do not get that many calls while driving so I never use my bt headphones.
Moved to proper forum.
sorry about posting in the wrong forum. I am only trying to get it to default to the handset when i pick up a call. i do not use it to play music, so i have no need for that to even be an option, i just want to be able to pick up a call on my phone, and have it stay on my phone while it uses the bt link to mute and un mute the stereo. i find the speakerphones in car stereos to be totally worthless for talking, but i find the mute feature very useful.
