I received my Qtek 8500 recently and it has many T9 Languages, but no Portuguese. Can anyone help me install Portuguese T9 on it? Many thanks,

It's for tornado/faraday smartphones but maybe it's working also on the star trek.
Thanks. Unfortunately, I saw that yesterday and tried it but it did not work. Maybe we need the file extracted from the ROM of the Star Trek...
What about flashing the i-mate Smartflip WWE ROM on it ?
I have it and it has Portuguese T9...

At the moment it is not possible to flash the iMate ROM to the Qtek because it is CID locked. But maybe you could give me the Portuguese files and I could try to install manually without changing the ROM. It is simple. Please add me to your MSN and we can work this out hopefully. Help Needed
OK, I received the files from Mix (many thanks, man!), and tried to add the T9 Portuguese, but it is not working. I have it as available now, but when I input anything, nothing happens. The procedure I followed was the one posted by Ronswens. Maybe for the Qtek 8500 there is a different procedure. If anyone can help, please do. It will be much appreciated. Thanks,

Just a question: did you unlock your device, or is it still locked ?
I don't mean SIM locked, but application locked !!!
Please, have a look if you can move links within "\Windows\Start Menu" and its subdirectories...
Otherwise it would be anyway difficult...
And/or maybe there are some other references within the registry that could prevent you succeed...

Yes, I do have the phone application unlocked. I used HTC Registry Editor to change the value of those 2 keys and then I ran the SDA Application Unlock executable. So I believe it is fully application unlocked. Just for the sake of it, I tested moving the shortcuts from the Windows\Start menu as you suggested and I had no problems in doing it... So I believe we have to find out what else is necessary... But thanks again for your support! And congrats on the Fifa World Cup!

I think I am closer now to the problem. I tested with Spanish and it worked. However, it does not work with Portuguese no matter what I do. But now we know that I am not making any silly mistakes on my side, and that the problem has nothing to do with my phone being locked, etc. All the languages that you sent to me seem to work, except Portuguese... It seems to me that the Portuguese files are somehow corrupted. Since you do have Portuguese T9 on your device, may I ask you to please try to use it and see if it is working? Let me know the results. Many thanks for your help!

Sorry for the delay, but YES, they do work on my Smartflip...
I did not know any word of Portuguese, but I tried to write "Quero" and "Buscar" and it perfectly reported those two words among some others which I did not recognise...
I suppose then it works... ;-)

Sorry for bumping an old thread up, but did anyone managed to properlly install the T9 files in Portuguese (Portugal) for the Qtek 8500?

I fell stupid! When I was writing an SMS I pressed the * button and a T9 menu appeared where I could select the portuguese T9. There's no mention to this on the user manual (as many other features). You can even configure other T9 settings there and even add your own words manually.
T9 .cab files needed
Does anyone could provide me the T9 .cab file for this ? Could I use this file in my O2 Xda Stealth since I can not write SMS or anything from the keyboard (Physical pad) and I would like to do this.

I'm looking for anyway to add spanish on the eZitext Menu. Currently there is only one language which is obviously English. Is there any .cab or something that help me to include Spanish

Many dictionary can be found in \windows\Zi8Dat****.z8d
There are different languages and you can modify it by using a registry editor.

I know there is nothing about in Spanish. We should be looking for this probably in phones where Ezitext is also available. Here what I suggest, what are the cell phones under WM5 that have Ezitext and also are being sold in Spain ??? Those phones might have the following file that could be easily change in \Windows\ which is Zi8datSP.Z8d.
Currently you will find files in other language but not in spanish. In fact the one in English and set up in my mobile is Zi8datENAM.Z8d

Im asking maybe damn normal question, but just for finnish keyboard, so is there any way to get my hardware keyboard to get working whit Finnish letters ( äÄ öÖ ) ? I have now WM6.1 Niki V1. In orginal WM6 what came whit this HTC touch dual got finnish keys ( Some nordic edition ) , but this Niki havent. Oh and 16-keys...

If I can find a Finnish rom for the Dual I can make a cab to install the finnish XT9 that works with the hardware keyboard.
Do you by any means have a backup of your old rom so I could have a look?

I think i cant find it.. So i dont have any backup or rom
The files I need for the cab to make are:
- 12.fihpd.kdb
- spd.5x4.Finnish.kdb
- FIlsUN.ldb
- fihpd.kdb
I already found the first 3 files in other cabs but the last one, fihpd.kdb, I couldn't find. This is the most important one since it's for the hardware keyboard and without it it doesn't work.
If someone who has Finnish XT9 available on their Dual can provide the files and most important the last file that would be great. They are all located in the windows folder of your Dual and if the normal explorer doesn't let you copy the files total commander will.
Here's one from mine, it's a swedish phone, sold in finland but might work?
It's a 16 key keyboard.

Hi, I have an Orange UK HTC Touch Dual with 16 keypad.
I want to flash with the NetrunnerAT Portuguese Rom:
RUU_Nike_HTC_PTG_1.31.410.09_Radio_Nike_1.58.16.27_signed_Ship
There's any problem because almost all nikes are 20 keypad?
Please help me before I begin flashing rom and installing hard spl...

The only thing I know is that normally it doesn't matter which version keypad you have.
But there is an issue with this portuguese rom that XT9 for Portuguese isn't working with the hardware keypad. There is a work around but that one is only working for the 20 keys version.

So, there's not a Portuguese Rom that XT9 Portuguese is working?
I instaled the PTG Tom_Codon's rom in my 16 keys niki and the XT9 isnt working.
It only writes numbers, no letters at all.
Im still trying to find the PTG XT9 for the niki, if anyone have found it, just let me know.
Im having the same problem with my Neon. I installed Seths Diamond v2 and i cant text. Every key goes straight to number. No xt9. I'm using a English ROM tho. Maybe some extra files we need downloading?
Before i have same problem with chinese rom, can't input text...
Problem was solved by extracting xt9 dll's and reg's from another rom.

You wouldnt mind explaining to me would you?! This is a thorn in my side lol
1) I have downloaded cab file for Niki (20key version), thats included all required files for xt9. I found it on this site
2) I have extract all files from cab by SkTools, except key mapping files (Because it's 20key version cab, not 16). And have do the same operation for registry.
3) Next step is just move it to \windows folder and accept .reg files
4) After i have installed xt9 pack with russian language (because i'm russian)
and after SR xt9 start working
P.S. Now i use WWE rom without this problem for a long time, so i can't clearly remember what i have to do

aimoon16 0 - it doesn't work because you don't have framework installed on computer, also you need to change your region (In region settings) to usa, because most programs don't understand chinese format.
P.S. Really hate method of chinese support by microsoft

i've already installed framework 3.0 and vc 2005 & 2008,but there still have some kind of errors like (errorlevel: -532459699) when i ran BuildNB.bat (the BuildOS.exe 's error),also with the region settings.
i don't know why ,some other kitchen on my computer is running freely ,only niki's kitchen ...
As is already have said, you need to change your regional settings to usa, because most programs don't understand chinese format.
I'm from china too, and this little tweak allow to run all apps w/o errors

1)You need all .mui files from chinese rom.
2)Put they to windows folder.
3)Add chinese font and change fontlink
4)Change system language in registry to chinese
5)Soft Reset

THX ,really, but u didn't get me , i mean i want to cook a rom in chinese ,not just flash an english rom and do some add fonts work.
Chinese rom is english rom with chinese mui
For cooking:
1)Add chinese .mui files to sys modules
(I think you will get some problems, because there is no new version of chinese .mui for new builds, so you need to edit .mui's by youself)
2)Edit registry, change .mui, and rename a lot of title name's to chinese (You can get it from chinese rom)
3)Add chinese font (msyh.ttf) and add fontlink (I can give it for you)
4)Cook
