Can anybody help me to transplant the newest ROM into Chinese ?

I've read all the articles i can find in this forum,but i still don't know how to cook a ROM in Chinese.
can someone help me ?~ or just give me some useful links i need to read~
by the way,i can't run niki's kitchen on my computer ,some errors there.i don't know why ,maybe my system in Chinese?

aimoon16 0 - it doesn't work because you don't have framework installed on computer, also you need to change your region (In region settings) to usa, because most programs don't understand chinese format.
P.S. Really hate method of chinese support by microsoft

i've already installed framework 3.0 and vc 2005 & 2008,but there still have some kind of errors like (errorlevel: -532459699) when i ran BuildNB.bat (the BuildOS.exe 's error),also with the region settings.
i don't know why ,some other kitchen on my computer is running freely ,only niki's kitchen ...
As is already have said, you need to change your regional settings to usa, because most programs don't understand chinese format.
I'm from china too, and this little tweak allow to run all apps w/o errors

1)You need all .mui files from chinese rom.
2)Put they to windows folder.
3)Add chinese font and change fontlink
4)Change system language in registry to chinese
5)Soft Reset

THX ,really, but u didn't get me , i mean i want to cook a rom in chinese ,not just flash an english rom and do some add fonts work.
Chinese rom is english rom with chinese mui
For cooking:
1)Add chinese .mui files to sys modules
(I think you will get some problems, because there is no new version of chinese .mui for new builds, so you need to edit .mui's by youself)
2)Edit registry, change .mui, and rename a lot of title name's to chinese (You can get it from chinese rom)
3)Add chinese font (msyh.ttf) and add fontlink (I can give it for you)
4)Cook
i think for best understanding what u will do, you need to explore rom, and learn how it based

Now SDK for Japanese / Simple and Traditional Chinease were released.
And i took out the wince.nls form emulator, and use in my WM5.0 Himalaya. Japanese encoding had be done in internet and inbox complietly!
If you need chinesse encoding wince.nls file, you can get from SDK of Chinese!
I got from japanese wince.nls from japanese SDK.

i already took the 3 different wince.nls of wm5 sdk, from JP SDK, T-CH SDK,S-CH SDK,
the one from Jp sdk worked(no chines encoding support).
T-CH one is not successfull to replace, i dont know why. it was biggest size in those 3 nls. , 1.2mb.
didint test the one from S-CH,
any way, i will up load after back from trip on sunday.

yay it works =)
i replaced the wince.nls u upped with the one inside fontpatch..installed it and i can see traditional chinese no problem!
so far i have tested:
input chinese with monster sip + plugins -> ok
display chinese with pocket word -> ok
chinese file names in file explorer -> ok
sms and other stuff -> ok
screenshots will be upped later when im done installing stuff
btw all this is tested on 1.60a

btw...one more thing...how can i disable area codes when i call..like hong kong phone numbers dont need area code
if i call 91231234 it turns to (912)312-34

You have to change the regional setting to Chinese (HKSAR). If not, change to english (Australia).
Also, go to the option of the dialing pad, change the area code as well.

thats good! how about ie and e-mail? also regional setting, those need encoging. sms-word doesnt need encode,
re-area code, pls go to settings---conections----connection----advance--dialing rules, then you can find "Use daialing rules" and check it, and edit one of them, you can find "dialing patterns"
the default is +e.f.g.

I am interested to change my himalaya currently on150i.96 to chinese encoded..
I have replaced the origianal wince.nls which is 266kb in size to the "chinese"wince.nls 1162kb in my windows, himalaa(xda2). I then soft reset. I have the same english version again. Must I hard reset instead?
what must I do?

I tried to replace wince.nls of Simle and Traditional Chinese into my Himalaya.
but i couldnt as i told.
i compaired them with japanese wince.nls. and found the difference.
NLS from Japanese SDK was named "wince.nls" in small letters.
But NLS from Simple and Trad Chinese were named "WINCE.NLS" in Large Leters.
Of couse i didint think this difference was mean nothing!
But at this moment, i dont have any other good idea! so i changed large to small.
[WINCE.NLS ----- wince.nls]!!! unblievale!
After soft reset my Himalaya!
wince.nls gave me the Chinese Encoding!! See my caputered!
S-Chinese wince.nls just support P.R of china, and Singarpole.
T-Chinese wince.nls already have those two with HK / Taiwan / Macao, so i will not upload.
Because too cost to upload it again with GPRS in Manila<roaming with China Telcom SIM>.
It took 30 min last up load from here!!! No Broadband!
So you can rename WINCE.NLS to "wince.nls" i uploaded before.
Then replace to default wince.nls on device! and procceed soft reset.
You can get Chinese Encoding! Good Luck!

here it is friend! Japanese wince.nls.
You start emulator with Japanese SDK with Visual Studio.
Then go and start Remte File Viewer, find wince.nls and do Import wince.nls to Computer.
Or on Emulater vurtial Pocket PC, install the filer soft and use this filer to copy into Storage.
But not so eazy to get Visual Studio2005 to run Emulator.
after rename to small capital and install wince.nls. regional setting still dont have chinese option like yours. do i have to install chinese font as well? asukal?
of course to display chinese, need chinese font, but its an another thing to get chinese regional option.
how did u reset it? with staylas as usual?
pls try to reset with some kinds of software instead. on wm5, seems the reset by stylas cant active some changing of system.

I did as what u said. Change WINCE to small letters"wince". It works.
In regional settings I saw the difference.
Question: Must we load chinese software eg. Penpower, CE Star, Monster chinese for it to work?Then only we can received and send sms in chinese..etc..Thanks
ahhh i was too sleepy last night....
had to reflash to 1.50i again because i ran out of space on 1.60a
anyways i couldnt see chinese in regional settings when i was on 1.60a but now that i check again i see it in 1.50i =)
and thx to the peeps that replied about my stupid question regarding area code and thx one again to asukal for the wince.nls file
i upped fontpatch to xda developers ftp since i cant attach it to here...
so get it from there if you need

I am confusing with rom language translated, so if I want to change language on my wm2003se, I just need to use hex editor to modify my rom info (language code section) and it will change into the language that I want ? or it is much more complex than that ?!
moreover, anyone could provide wm2003se CHT version of rom ? I don't want to run into trouble, so I hope some expert could help me to deal with it, Thanks.
Alright, so I recently bought a HTC Touch Pro.
And the thing is, the original ROM is soooo laggy and it pretty much sucks.
So I want to upgrade my ROM to, let's say ROmEOS, but since my phone is on Swedish language, I could not upgrade because I would loose the swedish language and end up with a Phone that only supports English.
Are there ANY ways to get around this problem? Because I need a new ROM upgrade soo badly..
Any help would be highly appreciated..

That's not true. A WWE ROM supports most languages and yours too. Its just the menu in English.

Yep, you are right. The language in the OS is included in let´s say extra language folders, mostly in two main folders OEM and SYS, and build for every program folder.
e.g.
OEM
L____Program_X_Folder
L____Program_X_0407
L____Program_Y_Folder
L____Program_Y_0407
SYS
L____Program_Z_Folder
L____Program_Z_0407
(0407 - folders containing german language files)
If you want the programs in another language, you have to cook your own rom. You take your prefered (swedish) language rom and copy all folders from OEM and SYS to another rom with the progs and stuff you want to have.
So, take swedish rom, extract it with kitchen, copy out the three extracted folders (OS, OEM, SYS). Then extract a prefered program rom (wwe) and delete the specific language folders. Take instead these, that you got from your swedish rom (have a look in the copied folder) and put them in the SYS and OEM folder, in that way that they match to the programs.
Last step, is rebuild your shiny new swedish rom and flash it - thats it....
So the OS supports the swedish rom but does not contain the lang. files.

Where do I find a Swedish ROM? Is there an way to get the ROM from my Raphael? Because I haven't flashed anything yet. Only the HARD-SPL.

You have to flash a complete ROM since Windows Mobile 6/6.1 Classic and Professional aren't multilanguage like Windows Mobile Standard 6/6.1! You can find an official WWE ROM with the board search!

If you intend to only flash the Official HTC ROM, then make sure your phone is not SIM locked, or flashing will fail.
If the phone is unlocked:
1) Download the ROM
2) Connect phone to PC, and ensure that you manage to have ActiveSync working.
3) Double click the ROM and follow instructions.

How can we did it?
NetrunnerAT tried many things but didn't succeeded in creating a multilang ROM, so I think there's no hope for such a ROM ...!
It was chinese rom, for Prophet, i found it on chinese forum. (I believe it was xbeta.cn)
Once, i have found one registry keys that depend system language (originally the key was 0804-chinese, but i changed it to english).
After SR, rom get english language, but it was lagy/slow
I have asked about it on 4pda forum (it was first exp, i am glad that found such good forum) and the answer was simple:
The problem was thats rom just didn't loaded properly, because it doesn't have english paths (Only chinese), so some files didn't loaded.
So this litle problem can be easly solved by changing paths.
I didnt do so because i have flashed new wm6.1rom that i found on 4pda.
But i am sure that this is possible
I think all we need for it:
1)Multulanguage ready rom (With .mui's for correct languages)
2)For changing language, user will just run simple program (or .cab) thats will add new path's and new registry keys
By the way, it was only 1.5 years ago

Do you reboot your TD2?
This tweak should only work if you have all the MUIs. Since most shipped ROMs are single language, it'll only work with what the ROM was originally.
I can probably upload some MUI packs that would allow the language to be changed...

TD2 Language problem
I bought the TD2. However it has only the Chinese language installed as i bought it from Taiwan. Is there anyway i can install an english mui without needing to flash the rom. Could u upload the necessary files?
