Alright, so I recently bought a HTC Touch Pro.
And the thing is, the original ROM is soooo laggy and it pretty much sucks.
So I want to upgrade my ROM to, let's say ROmEOS, but since my phone is on Swedish language, I could not upgrade because I would loose the swedish language and end up with a Phone that only supports English.
Are there ANY ways to get around this problem? Because I need a new ROM upgrade soo badly..
Any help would be highly appreciated..

That's not true. A WWE ROM supports most languages and yours too. Its just the menu in English.

Yep, you are right. The language in the OS is included in let´s say extra language folders, mostly in two main folders OEM and SYS, and build for every program folder.
e.g.
OEM
L____Program_X_Folder
L____Program_X_0407
L____Program_Y_Folder
L____Program_Y_0407
SYS
L____Program_Z_Folder
L____Program_Z_0407
(0407 - folders containing german language files)
If you want the programs in another language, you have to cook your own rom. You take your prefered (swedish) language rom and copy all folders from OEM and SYS to another rom with the progs and stuff you want to have.
So, take swedish rom, extract it with kitchen, copy out the three extracted folders (OS, OEM, SYS). Then extract a prefered program rom (wwe) and delete the specific language folders. Take instead these, that you got from your swedish rom (have a look in the copied folder) and put them in the SYS and OEM folder, in that way that they match to the programs.
Last step, is rebuild your shiny new swedish rom and flash it - thats it....
So the OS supports the swedish rom but does not contain the lang. files.

Where do I find a Swedish ROM? Is there an way to get the ROM from my Raphael? Because I haven't flashed anything yet. Only the HARD-SPL.

No. Only Shipped ROM Upgrades can be flashed at the moment.

no unfortunately! rom in Italian they don't exist yet.
When the AKU 3 will go out it will change everything because the language will be selected to the first boot of the system and after having chosen the language the others will be deleted by the system.
Unfortunately I don't think the AKU3 ROMs will be released with language packs, but I might be wrong...

yes, that's a feature of AKU3, but not all ROMs are built with language packs, and most likely HTC will not distribute them in their upgrades.

I use the 3.6.261.0 but as I saw haven't german language. But you can add german from the rom that you have.I did this with singular rom that I using before for greek language.

Sorry but I extracted my language from rom before a long time ago and I don't remember how I did in. I found info on how to do it here in this forum. The procedure its the same for rom cooking, you must must create a dump directory from the rom. I remember that I used the nbhtool(found it somewhere in the forum), to extract the rom's nb files and from the windows.nb I extracted with a rom cooking tool(I don't remember which I used) the dump directory. In this directory are all the mui language files(for my language is xxxxxxx.0408.mui, somewhere here again you can find the code for your language, or you can open a mui with a recourse editor and see if the translation is for your language) that you need.

I forgot the obvius. I think that you can try to copy your language mui files from the windows directory of your device to the pc before the rom update.

I'm not sure, but I think that you could extract the sys folder and port it to a new rom, as that's where the language folders are.

aimoon16 0 - it doesn't work because you don't have framework installed on computer, also you need to change your region (In region settings) to usa, because most programs don't understand chinese format.
P.S. Really hate method of chinese support by microsoft

i've already installed framework 3.0 and vc 2005 & 2008,but there still have some kind of errors like (errorlevel: -532459699) when i ran BuildNB.bat (the BuildOS.exe 's error),also with the region settings.
i don't know why ,some other kitchen on my computer is running freely ,only niki's kitchen ...
As is already have said, you need to change your regional settings to usa, because most programs don't understand chinese format.
I'm from china too, and this little tweak allow to run all apps w/o errors

THX ,really, but u didn't get me , i mean i want to cook a rom in chinese ,not just flash an english rom and do some add fonts work.

For cooking:
1)Add chinese .mui files to sys modules
(I think you will get some problems, because there is no new version of chinese .mui for new builds, so you need to edit .mui's by youself)
2)Edit registry, change .mui, and rename a lot of title name's to chinese (You can get it from chinese rom)
3)Add chinese font (msyh.ttf) and add fontlink (I can give it for you)
4)Cook
i think for best understanding what u will do, you need to explore rom, and learn how it based

You have to flash a complete ROM since Windows Mobile 6/6.1 Classic and Professional aren't multilanguage like Windows Mobile Standard 6/6.1! You can find an official WWE ROM with the board search!

If you intend to only flash the Official HTC ROM, then make sure your phone is not SIM locked, or flashing will fail.
If the phone is unlocked:
1) Download the ROM
2) Connect phone to PC, and ensure that you manage to have ActiveSync working.
3) Double click the ROM and follow instructions.

On my old HTC Prophet, i have a chinese wm6 rom, that actually have 2 languages: English and chinese.

How can we did it?
NetrunnerAT tried many things but didn't succeeded in creating a multilang ROM, so I think there's no hope for such a ROM ...!
It was chinese rom, for Prophet, i found it on chinese forum. (I believe it was xbeta.cn)
Once, i have found one registry keys that depend system language (originally the key was 0804-chinese, but i changed it to english).
After SR, rom get english language, but it was lagy/slow
I have asked about it on 4pda forum (it was first exp, i am glad that found such good forum) and the answer was simple:
The problem was thats rom just didn't loaded properly, because it doesn't have english paths (Only chinese), so some files didn't loaded.
So this litle problem can be easly solved by changing paths.
I didnt do so because i have flashed new wm6.1rom that i found on 4pda.
But i am sure that this is possible
I think all we need for it:
1)Multulanguage ready rom (With .mui's for correct languages)
2)For changing language, user will just run simple program (or .cab) thats will add new path's and new registry keys
By the way, it was only 1.5 years ago
