IR with DCD 3.0.1 and latest Sprint Rom - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

I have seen several post stating IR not working, IR working with this fix, etc..
I need to know if IR works with any of the latest roms.
I am running DCD 3.0.1 after I installed Sprint Rom so I have latest radio. Im on Alltel if that matters but doubt it. I have a Application that renews security on Electronic keys for work that uses the ir port, connects to server via phones evdo and reauthorizes the keys for the next 24 hours.
So I need to get that program working somehow. I have never installed it before yesterday so I haven't had a chance to test on other roms. Thought I'd ask here for I beat my head against the wall trying different things.
What works?? Any Roms?
Thanks
Brad

from 3.35 stock OEMDrivers rgu:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Obex]
"IsEnabled"=dword:1 ; After coldboot, device setting both are correct, but enable/disable beam item can not work on AKU19181
You will need to change this reg key back to IsEnabled=1 in order for IR to work on my rom.

i had a hard time understanding that DCD. my IR stil isnt working and I have the it set to 1. My beam is set to accept all and my bluetooth is set as well. What else could we be doing wrong?

What does that mean in simple english dcd? Not sure what that AKU19181 is? thx

What he says is that you have to manually enable it in the registry with the parameters that he mention....... everything else is just specifying the version of the mobile operating system.

thats basically a comment from htc saying IR is screwed up in wm6.1, and their registry workaround for it, by leaving obex always enabled. i have not tested but supposedly you just have to manually set that reg key.

To clarify something. I have used your ROM's before and all I had to do to enable OBEX was to enable it in the bluetooth settings and Also in the Commanager for those who have BEAM as a setting.
Usually the 6-10 Commanagers have this option.
I know because before OBEX wouldn't work until I enabled it in the Commanager.
You don't need to enable it in the registry only if you wan't to have it enabled 24/7 but if you only use it here and there just enable it from the Commanager, this saves up battery life.
You can test it also by enabling it in Commanager and going to the registry and you will see that it changes the Value from 0 to 1 once you refresh it.

so i did all this and my beam doesn't work yet!! help

Still having issues with this. the enabling in the prefs everywhere and in the registry just changes the checked value in the bluetooth settings. My bluetooth works perfect. no qualms there about anything. But my IR is still not doing a thing.

Thats a trip. What carrier ROM are you guys using? Maybe the issue is carrier based.
I have Verizon and havent had any issue so far with DCD's kitchens or ROMS.
How are you guys testing your OBEX / IR connections?

im on the alltel flash. currently on DCDs newest. bluetooth is an easy test of course, just sending files from my comp and using the PAN. as far as IR, i have a machine at my alltel retail store that uses ir to send files to phones, it will send to every phone except mine. my girlfriend has a 6700, stock, and it wont let me use the ir to send anything to hers or to recieve anything from hers

do you have the allow incoming beams tab enabled? how about making your device visible?
I tested mine with my old moto Q and it works.... I wonder if there is a flaw in alltel's ROM.

thats what im beginning to wonder. both are enabled. and i have also changed the reg key too to "isenabled" but still no go. idk its weird. i can live without it though, i would just like to figure it out

Yeah I'm on the sprint version....my bluetooth also works fine but the IR just isn't workin'....I'm really about to give up!!!! i might just get threaded sms and go to sprint update, heard it's great with battery life anyways

I'm running DCD 3.0.1 - Sprint and IR is broken. I tried all of the suggestions but it refuses to see anyone to send to or receive from. I test it using my laptop which worked fine with the official ROMs.

Yeah I agree... I think i might just have to go to an official rom...plus better battery life, though I love dcd rom man!!!!

UPDATE
after reviewing my result. I didnt fully test it out completely. lol.
I tried sending something to my moto Q through IR and it finds it and sends but it cuts the tranmission. It doesn't send through all the way so i guess it doesn't work after all.

oh well, if this is the only price i have to pay to use 6.1, then so be it

confirmed here also ... IR doesn't work with DCD's ROM ... bummer, i really liked it ... look like it's back to the official ROM for me

For those on Sprint you guys might luck out in a couple of months when Sprint officially releases WM6.1 for the Mogul.
This release might fix all the issues that have been found (hopefully since they will release a newer build of WM6.1)
And even better, we can share the love among all the TITAN users.

Radio Rom 1.35

Sorry if this is a dumb Question but I have not been able to find a true answer.
What is the advantage of updating My Radio Rom from 1.20 to either 1.27 or 1.35 or should I leave well enough alone.
Its up to you, the 1.35.00.11 version of the radio has the GPS chip enabled, but as you will see in the GPS thread the GPS chip works but has no antenna. The radio should be more stable, and i noticed an increase in the range of my 3G area with it. Make sure to use the version available here (at the top) because they push "des SSPL" to the phone so you dont need to worry about which bootloader or CID you have (not that it matters about CID with radio upgrades...but you know what i mean )
Thanks, i'll probably upgrade to 1.35 using the link you provided
Just upgraded, very straightforward.
One slight issue. After upgrade and soft reset I could not make a data connection.
I made a voice call just to check that was working . . .
then all was OK.
Don't know if the voice call sorted it or what
just make sure you have GPS off or your battery will be in for a ride

Hi,
I also flashed 1.35 nice and easy. So where can you turn GPS off ?
Thanks for the help

Don't worry, GPS isn't enabled unless you install the VRSerial driver (which aint easy....). Even then, it's only turned on when an application specifically opens the GPS comm port.

Hi Sleuth255,
thanks for the help on this issue. I do not indent to install VRSerial. I do have an external GPS mouse which is fine for me.

I recently upgraded and it was a major improvement for me. Far fewer dropped calls, better reception, etc.
I have noticed a noticeable decrease in in-call volume...is this an issue with this rom? At max volume, I have trouble hearing in a noisey environment...never had this problem before.
RUU_1.35.00.11_radio_only.exe wants to connect to the internet?
I upgraded my radio rom yesterday and kept the installation file, RUU_1.35.00.11_radio_only.exe, on my laptop. I downloaded the file with the link supplied in the wiki page.
Now today I get a warning from my f-secure saying that the exe file “RUU_1.35.00.11_radio_only.exe” wants to connect to the internet. I clicked deny and it kept trying to connect four more times then it stopped. I scanned the file for viruses and Trojans but F-Secure didn’t find any.
Anyone else had the same problem or perhaps knows whats going on?

its probably thinking that access to the ActiveSync device (which as far as i am aware is via tcp over usb) i wouldnt worry about it. disconnect from the internet if you are.

If the phone won't start, after flashing radio 1.35, simply reflash the SO.

Now after flashing the rom I never got the Tmobile settings detection thing that I've always had before...could it be something not set for tmobile? Thanks in advance..I really need access to my work email

Just set up the t-mobile connections manually and you should be fine.
ok, forgive me for being spoiled with autoconfiguration....I think I found the settings on tmobiles web page...but i cant seem to find where to put them. I think ive looked under all the connection settings and havent found anything...i vaugly remember seeing like a manual configuration wizard that i ran back on another rom...but I doubt thats included in the ultra vanilla.

You go to Start>Setting>Connection, then you will see an icon called "Connections". The iconn has c omputer, two mobile phones and a globe. Click on that, and click on "Add a new modem connection" . Enter the name of your Tmobile company, and in the select a modem window, choose "Cellular GPRS". On the next screen, enter the Access Point Name. If you don't know what is the access point name, call your phone company and ask them.
Thats' it. Very simple.
ok, i setup a tmobile mms connection and all I did was input wap.voicestream.com into the APN and then clicked finish. Now my direct push email is working and the net is working as well. Does anyone know if that should be all I need setup to access my full tmobile data plan that I have?
ok, everything seems to be working now except my receiving of picture messages....I had a friend send me a pic and i got the text from the picture message as a normal sms, not mms. once I tried to open the sms, it gave me an error that It couldnt download the msg and it would be left in the inbox....gotta be another setting somewhere....

I hope touchlasvegas dont mind if I ask a "few" questions.
1. I'm interested in flashing this ROM, can I go back to AP4 if I choose to? There wont be a problem with the repartitioning when its already done right?
2. In the addons, did Irus put the Windows Live and MSN messenger v10.6..... or is it a previous version?
3. Also in addons, which Windows Mobile is in there....is it the same one in AP4? I'm also looking for the Comm Manager and USB to PC from Ap4?
If I can get just these few things.....I'm ready to install this more stable ROM!!!
Thanks
depends on what SPL your using...I'm on SPL 1.2 so i can bounce around on various roms as long as they are the same SPL. I believe Irus has an spl 1.2 AP4 rom, but do you know which spl you are running? I do not remember seeing the windows live and messenger apps in the addons but i may have overlooked them...easy enough to download the latest versions though. Pretty much each little piece of software you need...you'll need to get the latest version and download it. I'm lovin the speed of the ultra vanilla though, all menus are snappy instead of the slug I had been used to.
and to anyone else concerned, I tracked down the connection wizard cab in another thread, ran that and it setup all my tmobile settings perfectly...so its all good now. I have one last issue, not being able to change the softkeys...I would prefer it to say just email...or mail, instead of Gmail at the bottom right. By chance anyone know of a cab file that would remove the bottom bar totally?
I'm running Ap4.0 3.5spl. I just dont know if any of the things that I'm looking for is available in his addons.
So the answer to the first question is....."yes" I can re-flash the PK Ap4.0 ROm if I want to go back to it?
I believe you can, I wish someone else with spl 3.5 could chime in..I do not have that spl yet, so I dont have any experience with it. It would make sense that you could change between any 3.5 spl roms though
Thanks for the help touchlasvegas.
A couple questions for you. What SIP's are apart of this ROM? Is teksoft fingertouch in there?
Would you recommend IYHO to flash to this ROM? I'm reading nothing but good stuff about it!

Hi CRU2008,
I hope you don't mind that i'm answering some of your questions.
Fingertouch is not included because Irus has no permission by Teksoftco to provide it.
This rom is great, very fast and stable. I had some annoying issues with the bluetooth stack and my Cardo BT headset. Every time a call came in, after a few seconds the bluetooth connection was lost.
So i had to go back to AP4 (i disabled all that fingertouch and automatic orientation stuff), because i have to use my Ameo in a professional manner.

faster
Good luck

if your still lookin for the connection wizard, follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=356330 to this thread and in POST # 3, there is a list of addons. Your going to download "Shamanix HTC ConnectionSetup v1.0.31247.2.cab" after struggling to enter manual settings, this got internet, data, and MMS all working perfectly for tmobile automatically.
I'm also very lucky, as I just dont have a need to depend on a bluetooth with my advantage...if I cant talk on the speaker due to privacy at the moment, then I just send a text, not a big deal to me. I have yet to run into any problems with the Irus Ultra Vanilla rom, it just takes time to get everything working because almost everythings been removed from the rom to make it ultra vanilla, and thats what I wanted...emilination of the junk so I can pick and choose what I want.

Help: Verizon connection settings

I recently upgraded to DCD3.2.5 ROM and Radio version 3.42.50 And now i cant send or receive MMS messages. I can connect to wifi and i can send regular texts but when i send a picture it only gives me the option to send through email. How do u get MMS back. I installed the verizon carrier cab. Follow A lazy Dude suggestion. You will need to install Arcsoft. I have VZW and that takes care of the issue and gives you threaded SMS/MMS as well.
Thanks they worked. Now i have a problem with the GPS. i installed the new radio version and everything but for somereason no GPS program will pick it up. i tried using google maps and Quick GPS. In order to use the GPS does wifi need to be off? If so then that means i have to use data which will cost me since i have no plan.

Do this for GPS.... Set the phone to 911 only. Then soft-reset. Then switch it back to Location on... and soft reset. Also, do a *228 , 1 OR *22899 and let the phone re-program / soft reset. Let me know if that helps.

Have you tried a hard reset? and don't install anything else.
no but i would prefer not too. Ive already done a bunch of hard resets and i finally have my phone where i want it. it would just suck to have to redo it all again.
Also my wifi isnt working. It keeps saying i have the incorrect network key when i know its right. its the same one im using on my laptop and it works fine. maybe i will have to hard reset.
these are my installed programs. Could these be messing anything up?
AIM
Oxios Memory
Quick GPS
Total COmmander
WMminibattery
HTC Home Plugin
HTC home customizer
PHM RegEdit
Pim Backup
and then i also have the verizon carrier cab, Cody ppc performance, GC arcsoft Mobile.
When i start up my phone it always says "the file 'Program' coul not be found or it is not signed with a trusted certificate. Try reinstalling the software." BUt i dont even know what its looking for.
Maybe i should hard reset But is there any of those programs i shouldnt put back onto my phone?

Becasue i noticed you have the GPS fix but you also have a differen radio version than i do.
i just tried that fix and it still doesnt seem to be working. anything i can do? should i reinstall the radio or do anything different?
Im thinking about hard restaring the phone again but when i do that should i change the ROM or radio? Also any reason for the wifi not to be accepting the network key?
i just did a hard reset and only put google maps on to see if it would work and still not working. do i need a different radio? when i go to google maps and click on my location it says your handset does not seem to support the my location feature. There should be use GPS link on that menu. Click on that and it will start up the GPS and find your position. The default settings for the GPS in Google is to let windows manage it and it should turn it on if all is working.

A-GPS works in 5.08 leaked AT&T ROM

I think this is important enough to warrant it's own thread - a heads up to anyone cooking ROM's!
Firstly, in the changelog, there's a fix for P4600 fails NI-SUPL (!!!)
NI is Network Initiated, this fix is probably related to E-911, SUPL-NI is typically triggered via SMS. Apparently a side effect of this is that MS-BASED and MS-ASSISTED SUPL modes both now work too (GPSMode registry key, 1=MS-ASSISTED, 2=MS-BASED, 3=MS-STANDALONE)
3 significant changes that I note are a new radio ROM version, and agpsnvsetting (registry key) is set to 1 instead of 5.. quickgps is updated also.
Anywho, somewhere inbetween these changes, QuickGPS now successfully transfers the A-GPS TLS Certificate to the chipset (i don't recall seeing this happen successfully before, certificate name is suplrootcert and can be found in \OEM\OperatorPkg)
Code:
18:24:35 [D:GPS] GPS: [SetupGPSConfigForGetPosition] Using AGPS settings from registry.
18:24:35 [D:GPS] [SetupGPSConfigForGetPosition] MCC = 310, MNC = 410
18:24:35 [D:GPS] [SetupGPSConfigForGetPosition] wGPSDynamicURL = h-slp.mnc410.mcc310.pub.3gppnetwork.org
18:24:35 [D:GPS] GPS: [SetupGPSConfigForGetPosition] Transferred from [h-slp.mnc410.mcc310.pub.3gppnetwork.org] to [209.183.32.112]
18:24:35 [D:GPS] GPS: [SetupGPSConfigForGetPosition] NEW ServerIP = 209.183.32.112
Anywho, I haven't tested beyond this configuration, but for anyone not on AT&T's network, you should be able to cook a ROM with these drivers from 5.08, the quickgps package, the suplrootcert, use the accompanying radio rom, and change the SUPL servers to something public (supl.nokia.com maybe)
It certainly warrants further scrutiny, but i'm almost positive A-GPS is functioning as it should have since day one now
I might suggest grabbing the AT&T ROM or my modified one here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/205473951/ATT-5.08-nocert-24mbPP-lite-new.ddi-v2.rar
and changing the values in the registry here to match your APN/Connection Name/SUPL Server (try supl.nokia.com/66.35.236.25/port 7275):
edit: supl.sonyericsson.com/212.209.45.84/port 7275 is also public
note all SUPL servers should utilize port 7275 - it is the IANA registered port (reference here: http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-numbers) - also all SUPL servers should support the 1.0 standard which appears to be what's in use.
EDIT: It appears the domain name registration on 3gppnetwork.org, supl.nokia.com, supl.sonyericsson.com has expired and these URL's are no longer valid; the ONLY remaining functional public SUPL server i'm aware of is IP 209.183.32.112 - remove all hostnames from your /SUPL AGPS key.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS]
"APN"="wap.cingular"
"DynamicURL"="h-slp.mnc000.mcc111.pub.3gppnetwork.org"
"GPRSConnection"="MEdia Net"
"Network"="MEdia Net"
"ServerIP"="199.88.233.169"
"ServerPort"=dword:00001c6b
"ServerURL"="h-slp.mnc410.mcc310.pub.3gppnetwork.org"
"TLSHostName"="h-slp.mnc410.mcc310.pub.3gppnetwork.org"
Who knows, it might even work with the default server if you just change the APN, GPRSConnection, and Network to match yours..
sounds great!
anyone up for cabbing this properly?

Yes, you are correct. AGPS is working for me using a custom rom built off the leaked rom. I've been playing around with it for a couple of days now trying to figure out if I'm crazy or not. So, if I am crazy, that makes two of us now. previously I could not turn on AGPS without crashing my iGO and now this is working as well. They, being AT&T have finally resolved the issue or I have completely lost my mind. Both options are not entirely unlikely.

but have you noticed any changes regarding fix speed or whatever?
I've only had the patience to hard reset 3 times, but i've gotten a sub 15 second fix each time This is indoors where it has taken over 15 minutes to get a fix before. And 2-5 minute fixes are common. I made sure to clear all epheremis data etc. as i've done in previous gps tests.
I doubt the fix was on AT&T's side, they don't do much if actual programming, largely just submit requests to HTC.. the fix on their end would be to get the SUPL server working where it wasn't before, but then the older AT&T ROM would now be working too..

Yes. I am seeing locks in less than 15 secs after updating QuickGPS. However, I must note that I am using GPSOneAPP to test with custom settings. I am also not seeing any lag at all. I am using the new 1.12.25.19 radio along with the corresponding rilphone.dll as well.

For me, this latest radio is by far the best. 2nd best is any Blackstone radio. I am going a solid 3 days and no ATW, I'm not switching off 3G. This is everday use mind you. I don't do a lot of surfing, but I have 3 email accounts checking every hour, a lot of mms/sms messages and maybe 5-10 calls a day. This usage is typical for me.
Regardless of that though, the point is that AGPS is working correctly or at the very least, it seems to work. That to me is the major deal.
Edit:
I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you my location. Middle to lower East Coast, USA.
Good stuff, I'll have to try it out later.
I'm using your clean ROM Da_G and I will try GPS on my way home.
I still had speed lag when I used the leaked ROM though, but my fixes did seem faster.

Which ROM are you using. I would like to give a shot, I'm currently on Arup's v5, but I'm having a few issues with it. Thanks.

I'm sorry, but I'm currently running a private Beta built off the leaked rom.

Over the .32 radio I am having excellent luck with battery. Instead of ending the day at about 8pm (from 5am) with about 20-30% battery life, I'm ending in the 40% now. I do a lot of bluetooth calls, heavy SMS, and constant activesync push email with about 50 emails a day. Needless to say, the radio and the Energy ROMs have turned my fuze from not making it till 8pm, to making me not even worry about playing a bit of youtube on the train on the way home.

I am using Arup's v5 and I am seeing these great results as well. I am on the latest BS radio .16 with RIL to match. Checkout my post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3418334&postcount=147
I'm running the 1.12.25.19 Radio and RRE v5. I can confirm that AGPS is working with this combo. Typical indoor lock of < 10 seconds, outdoor lock < 5 seconds.
I still have lag though. Driving at 30 MPH, I measure the lag to be in the range of 2-3 seconds in Google Maps, OCN8, and Garmin Mobile XT. That translates to a range of about 90-140 ft. (25-40 meters). Lag has been a constant for me. All of the combinations of Raphael radios, ROMs, and registry tweaks that I've tried have still resulted in the same lag.
Just using the new stock leaked rom, I can also confirm that I'm getting under 10 second locks consistently, and I haven't ran into 1 instance where I haven't been able to get a lock. Prior to this I haven't been able to get locks at all without running GPSTest for around a minute or so and then starting up my GPS software. It's absolutely amazing!
Da_g anyyway you can do this:
"Anywho, I haven't tested beyond this configuration, but for anyone not on AT&T's network, you should be able to cook a ROM with these drivers from 5.08, the quickgps package, the suplrootcert, use the accompanying radio rom, and change the SUPL servers to something public (supl.nokia.com maybe)"
Without doing any kitchen work? There a way you can just insert the drivers using a patched NK.exe and then put this in w/e it is lol "suplrootcert"

Thanks for the info! I am on the latest RAPH radio .19. I read that Arup is using the latest .19 rilphone.dll so I performed a hard reset and enabled AGPS and now all is great! Indoor gps lock in 15-20 seconds! I guess I didn't need to do the whole rename rilphone2.dll and registry changes, maybe that is what messed me up in the first place.

Are you using the rilphone2.dll file and registry tweak? I and others seem to have had great improvements in lag when applying this

Xv6800 no gps at all i think i have tried everything

Hey everyone i know alot about this phone from your forums. I have done the gps update on my phone using the wiki you had and Worked for some time. So after some time the gps wont pick up any satellites. Ok so i thought well i would hard reset and resintall the carrier cab and gps cab nogo. Ok so i reverted to stock rom and redid to dcd rom and radio added the carrier cab and gps cab again nogo. I even tried the mr1 update with gps cab via your wiki and still google maps and live search wont pick up the gps. Does anyone other than a defective gps unit have any other steps to try would be appreciated. thanks
Did you even search to see if others had your same problem. Look in the last 10 pages here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424387
have you applied the aGPS fix? and if you have, did you update with the new information? im not sure when it happened, but verizon changed the IP address and port you should be using. i lost gps for a while and didnt even realize that a hard reset made me lose all my gpsOne settings (when i lost my akey). if you have the aGPS fix set up correctly, you should have no issues at all.
I've been having a similar problem. I am not sure what the definitive ip address settings for verizon users should be (ip/port, that is). I think I've seen at least 2 or 3 different settings, including Telus ones. Does anyone know, definitively, which ip address and port we should be using?

When you mean the ip address change do you mean using qpst and if so i might not have changed the ip address.so i will give that a chance i saw in a previous post a different ip didnt think anything of it. I will try and if someone has the new ip can you please send it to me.
I found
ServerIP=66.174.95.132
ServerPort=8888
Or is it
ServerIP = 216.198.139.92
ServerPort = 8889
And one thing i looked at my phone and when i pull up qpst i dont see the usb ports listed i do see unknown i would try those but if anyone has anything on that would be great thanks
Guess i have to revert back from mr1 to dcd rom hope this works i loved my gps. my omnitech with igo and navigon is ok but i like google maps better.
you should be using DCDs rom anyways. the correct settings are the second block that you listed. your ports may not match the same numbers as the wiki, but add them both and open whichever one has SURF next to it
Use the telus servers. The verizon ones are hit and miss if they work without VZ navigator.

whats the settings for telus doing rom update right now
68 to 69
Ok so i had the xv6800 and got it working with gps. Then i decided to get the xv6900 because it has more ram and i knew my software i had would work on it. Plus i knew about this hack so....I gave it a shot.
Well I turned on the XV6900 as soon as i had power running to it, and it came from verizon with 6.1 on it. Which saved me some time having to install it later. The first thing i did was install the vahalla cab that i had on my 6800.
the registry settings were automatically set at
Mode 2
PDE address 5C8BC6D8
PDE port to 8889
I then installed the Serf telus agps deal....
Mode 4
server ip 216.198.139.92
server port 8889
then i install Franson gpsgate2.6
and it shows me a lite green icon on my today screen then when you go into settings it says "getting gps data, but no position"
I couldn't get gps to work in google or live. Maybe because i was impatient. I sat here at work on the 8th floor of my building and still couldn't get it to work. So finally I when i was leaving for work, i called my wife to let her know i was on my way home, and when i hung up the phone....there it was. The light green was now dark green which means gps position. And it works now. So i installed tomtom and that works (btw i use gpsgate for this to fool tomtom into thinking that the installed gps is a real tethered gps, because built in wouldn't work). So now gps works great, until I turn on my phone on the 8th floor. So my guess is, the gps has to get a lock outside with clearview of sky while you use your phone. once you do this the agps helps out and then you can go inside and still have location.
Try it let me know if this works for you.
btw- has anyone been getting text msgs saying a free software update available by dialing *228 then 2? this updates the roaming area. I wonder if this is tied in with us hacking the gps. Just a thought.
Telus server info.
