Ultra Clean Prophet ROM (WM6.1) (Updated!) - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 ROM Development

This ROM has had everything I can remove without causing instabilities removed.
There is no ExtROM with this, but one can be added very easily.
With the addition of an extROM, UC can be used (SDAutoRun is in the windows directory)
This is intended for ROM cooks, and so I won't attach any upgrade utilities. It is an OS.nb rather than an nk.nbf for the purposes of saving space.
Some packages can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=371497
This uses SDautorun V2 so is suitable for multi-language use.
I will upload a version suitable for flashing in the near future.
Based on multiple ROMs including official Kaiser, Touch and WM5 Prophet ROMs. This is a WM6.1 ROM.
Contains Mail, Contacts, Calendar, internet explorer and phone functionality.
Internet Explorer and help files have been removed in the new version!

Reserved for updates.

thx my friend
i think i will use it to start cooking a room =)

Thanks a lot
exactly what i am looking for ,
I will download it as soon as possible
thanks,thanks,thanks,.........

I have been waiting for this !
Can you inform us about free storage space after fresh flash? And how is the speed?

Thanks
Hi, how to flash is rom image OS.nb using which flashing tools? cos the new method is flashing the rom image nk.nbh.
can i use the new method of flashing?
Thanks in advance
Cheers

Thank a lot

there is about 55mb storage and 30mb program memory, but I've just realised I left the help files in! there is also the extROM with nothing in it, so in total 65mb free. I shall change the registry so it is unhidden/unlocked when I upload the update. I will also remove some other programs.
The new WM6 upgrade guide shows how to convert the *.nb into a *.nbh for flashing.
I shall upload an update when I can.

is downloading it, thanks, mate.

May we know when the updated one comes??

I'll finish it when I am at home and have some free time. I have a few deadlines coming up so might not be till the weekend.

I'm uploading a new version to my skydrive account... It consists of two seperate parts, OS.nb and ExtROM.nb. These will need to be combined for flashing (see the "new wm6 upgrade guide")
When uploaded it will be available here: http://cid-cddbf77985693632.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/XDA%20files/ROMs/Clean
If someone wants to mirror it please do, I don't have the time to now.

thanks very good

hi l3v5y,
on this v2 the problem of ring is ok, because on the first one i can't change the ring tone

I removed most of the default ringtones for space. If you put one into the \My Documents\Ringtones directory I think it should work.
I normally have my prophet set to vibrate so I wouldn't have noticed this :S.

i will try and tell you for the V2

Tkanks very much!

Warning WM5 1.60a and Extended _rom

Just a little info -I discovered at the weekend. I have been playing with the wm5 1.60a for a while and in orfder to save space in the storage i have installed a lot of programs on the extended_rom partition. I renamed this via the registry. Don't do this !as it really screws things up. You end up with two extended rom plabels in explorer and you can not rename them back. I have had to reinstall wm5 1.60a
I dont see any problem installing program in Extended ROM. All you have to make sure is you have to rename the Extended ROM BEFORE you install anything.
If you rename it AFTER then surely you are going to be screwed. Because the program installed in the extended ROM is registered in the registry as whatever name the extended ROM when the program are installed.
Can you please be more specific with your problem. If not I think your post is "misleading".
True
In summary you are correct. I should have renamed Extended_rom before installing programs to it.
However when you reset the machine the operating system creates a new folder called extended rom and puts the renamed extended rom data and programs in it.
The original renamed folder with the memory chip icon is also present in the directory view so the data appears twice.
odd to say the least
I dont have the problem that you described.
When I install WM5 v 1.60a. I immediately rename it to "STORAGE" then install program in it. I have been using version 1.60 for more than a week now and I have countless Soft Reset even Hard Reset(Persistent memory right?) and no double folder and anything.
Just follow my advice and rename it at the beginning. I am sure you wont have the problem.
Hi,
This has most likely been covered but can someone tell me how do I rename storage areas. I have WM2005 1.60a Rom Thanks to Buzz.... and I as defalt run out of storage memory really quick and my program memory is massive, I am really sorry if this has been cover so even if you could point me to where it is discussed.
Thanks Heaps.

How To: Atom Series Extended Rom Cooking

For Atom / Atom Pure / Atom Exec: Use WinImage Version 8.1 or similar program to edit IMG file. There are many programs that can do it.
Do not touch folders found in this image file. Programs that depend on these folders are: FM Radio, AutoConfig, WirelessManager, Camera, Equalizer, Album (life), ImageEditor (life)
The version of the Extended Rom is taken from the text file:
061020_AL1ARCWWE_EX0604.txt
The name is picked up versionCPAapplet.cpl (found in Settings->System Info)
So far, I did not encounter any problems changing the version numbers
The default folder name for this partition on your device is \_QHiddenPartition\ However, when we unlock this hidden partition at device runtime, we can not use the same folder name to install programs and lock it afterwards.
Normally, I used this partition to place the cabs I want to install at hard reset. This is no longer a problem with the cooked ATOM/ATOM EXEC ROMs we made because, serialzs introduced MortScript to do the automatic installation of cabs found in \_QHiddenPartition\ and \cabs\ folder found in storage card.
It is not necessary, however, to unlock the hidden partition just to edit the contents at device runtime. You can always use Total Commander to browse this partion by keying \_QHiddenPartition\ on the location bar.
For ATOM LIFE users, you can simply remove the 12-byte header of IMG file, and WinImage 8.1 can be used to edit the file. You need to restore the 12-byte header prior to flashing your device again.
tj your are very kind ^^;
Last time i ask.you say search.
i use search but still confuse cause alot of topic.
but now you posted this info.
THANKS YOU
thank you,i'm trying to cook and release WM 7.0 tonight. j/k
How to remove or add programs being install in order??? I found that del *.cab to remove the programs and copy *.cab to auto install the programs from extended rom. But i don't know the file where listed the programs is able install in the extended rom at hard reset. In the past, when i cooked BA rom, i remember that i can edit the file include the paths of the cabs I want to auto install at flash rom or hard reset.

The script runs through all cabs present in the the two locations stated above. You don't have to edit any list like you do for AutoRun in BA. Also, AutoRun does not work with cab installation that require user interaction. Now, as for your question regarding the order they go - it's alphabetical.
Hi jiggs!!
You awesome! I have added my operator in autoconfig list, all work fine, now I have all settings for my operator!
THANKS A LOT!!
interesting in rom cooking, thats what i.m always thinking about,.
but i'm afraid to do this, i'm afraid i'll bring my atom unusable,.

Open the file with an HEX-editor, cut the first 12 bytes and save the file. That's all.
You can use "XVI32". This Hex-editor is included in the original Scooter-ROMkitchen.
Hi all,
I use remotePROTECT as a security measure on my Atom - I find the program great.
It will be even better if I place it in extROM (hidden partition) so that it will install again upon hard reset.
I've followed the instructions that come with the software - they require me to place the program's CAB file in the extROM along with the setupE file.
I tried that - did a hard reset and nothing happened - didn't install.
I have an O2 Atom with an official ROM release installed.
Is there anything else I need to do? I note there is an Autoinst.dat file in the hidden partition, but it's encrypted or gibberish so I can't do much with it.
If I've overlooked anything can someone please suggest what I can do to make this do what I want - install itself again after hard reset.
Thanks in advance.

If you have read the first post carefully, then you will understand that this won't work because the built-in AutoInstall of the official ROM restricts to signed CABs only as defined by list with no known format as of this date. That's why we have cooked ROMs to bypass this and created another AutoInstall script. There are work arounds for your purpose but definitely this solution is not for you. You have to do some research on this forum.

you need to secure this from your operator.
although you can edit the xml files with notepad, I don't know if the GUID found there is important. you can also generate your own GUID to have a unique value.
select the existing xml that best fit your requirements and edit it. you can't edit the cabs found in the networks because they are signed. you need to provision your own cabs. it's more like provisioning certificates using cabs.

You must simply type \_QHiddenPartition in Total Commander to switch to Extended ROM.

Thanks!! The problem resolve after I remove the first 12 bytes.
For AtomLife ExtRom.img.
Anyone was successful to flash editted ExtRom.img of AtomLife with DSUU? If possible, could you please show me few experience to Update ExtRom via DSUU.
Ex: Remove 12bytes header/edit(add or remove anything can do)/restore 12bytes header. Then replace new ExtRom.img in \Window\temp\ExtRom.img and delete \Window\temp\FLASH.DIO while completed extract of DSUU running. Then imitate DSUU instruction. Is it right? This way, I cuccessed to new Flash.dio for AtomLife.

ROM Cooking Information For Gene (P3400 / D600)

I know there are a lot many other files for editing the rgu files and creating hv files but I didnt try them. I dumped the ROM successfully and still learning to delete or add packages. Although I am not saying that I successfully flashed my Gene with the ROM I cooked, but learning never stops till someone expert comes along to explain things and to guide us cooking wannabes to a nice kitchen and a nice personalised ROM Your suggestions and guidance and advices are all more than welcomed here
The post below is where I am going to post the packages I create and the one below that is where I am going to put up the problems I face so no one else will repeat and brick their phones
Also attached the original Gene RUU, just in case
I did my part of dumping the OS.nb in HyperCore as mentioned in anichillus's thread here. Then I used the package tool to make packages from the dump and transfer the SYS and OEM folder to Build. I haven't yet mastered the art of adding or deleting the packages here but I certainly deleted the useless images and theme files which eats up space. Post that I did the BuildOS which created the OS-New.nb very nicely. Used HTCrT tool to create the new RUU_Signed.nbh with the OS and ExtRom. While flashing the RUU showed "Flash Write Error" at about 99%. Need guidance after or prior to that, although will not stop trying and will keep posting the progress so far here
OEM Packages created by me

Problems I have faced so far
When I tried to recreate the hive files (default and user) Problem was faced in default.hv. Attached CMD screen, default.rgu and boot.rgu file - Solution: Found by Orefkov here
After I tried to flash my Gene with my custom cooked ROM, it left me with a blank phone. Although I passed the 1st splash screen then it was blank - Solution: Found by Anichillus here

[Released v1.01]15/10/09 Beta x7500 Kitchen 6.5

This is the kitchen I am currently using to build my rom series, my main reasons for releasing this are to try and progress development of 6.5 builds on the athena.
I am going to assume that if you have in depth knowlege to rom building that you would have probably put your own kitchen together, so please dont post questions etc if you have tried to do something out of your comfort zone i.e porting new builds(this is a bit more involved)
The kitchen contains saved builds of my latest releases, 23060 and 23053, load whichever you wish and add and remove packages etc, I will try and assist as much as I can.
There are many guides on ervius kitchen I would suggest reading them if you are new to it.
My hope is that we can resolve the few remaining issues I have in a more efficient way than me spending 5/6 hours every night building and testing roms, the main existing problems are:
DRM
Manila
Autorotation
All the saved config files have been recmodded to attain max slot 0 memory allocation, I would not advise recmodding any more modules as this will probably cause a non booting rom.
I will try and update with latest versions with a config file as they become available.
Please do not release roms into the forums, my intention is that you use it to learn and build your own spec roms
Download Link!!!!!

***PLEASE NOTE***
THIS IS NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE DOING, YOU RUN A HIGHER RISK OF BRICKING YOUR DEVICE IF YOU GO IN BLIND, AS WITH ROMS THIS IS FOR SPL3.5 DEVICES, I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO ASSIST ANYONE WHO NEEDS IT PROVIDING YOU ACCEPT I CANNOT GIVE ALL MY TIME TO THIS AS I HAVE A FAMILY AND A JOB TO LOOK AFTER, IF YOU NEED HELP I CAN WALK YOU THROUGH IT VIA MSN ETC

Lol, first hurdle, the kitchen is 802mb and sendspace wont allow me to upload more than 300mb
anyone got any ideas
can you upload a torrent?
ZIP > split > upload parts?
Split to 100MB parts and PLEASE upload it to Rapidshare
Thanks
you can rar/zip and split it into 250MB parts (less parts to download than to have each part at 100MB) or you can upload to torrent (but we would need seeders....the dedicated file servers are a better option though)
I managed to reduced the size somewhat and its now on megaupload, the link is now in the first post.
For those wishing a beginers course, I am going to try and do one tomorrow, but will start a seperate post for it.
I have not tested this kitchen but it should work fine.
hey avenger, will you be including the new 23071 build in the kitchen or for additional download? also does the kitchen offer xip and sys porting?

I will probably build a 23071 rom tonight and see how it looks, then consider releasing it into a kitchen, yes the kitchen offers sys and xip porting, but it needs a couple of things doing to get it to work with the athena kernel

As I asked in private messages. can u make a tut for this specially how to work with your kitchen xip/sys porting section?
for some reason the kitchen seems to stop being able to port over a xip...I don't know if the copy I had somehow got corrupted on my drive but I'm going to redownload and try again.
has anyone else been having the problem?

Lennie, this happened with my x7510 kitchen as well, the fix is to open the xip exporter tool bottom left of kitchen, there should be a button called something like, extract from payload? use that to extract the xip.old and see if that works

yeah it's there, but doesn't that mean I would have to have the os.payload for the newer rom that I want to get the xip from?
if I get a rom with build 28008 can I then use the kitchen to extract the os.payload and then use that to extract the xip.bin then use the xiporter in the kitchen and extract the xip? if i do that would it mess up the kitchen in anyway?

Sorry I thought you were having a different error relating to xip.old, from your pm I am assuming your not able to port the new xip.
I have used the msxip folder that comes with rom dumps to some success in the past by creating a new folder in kitchen/rom/shared/*create folder with new build number* copy the MSXIP Kernel folder into here for your new xip supplied with dump, and copy the packages.txt file from a working folder from another build.
(This is the new XIP files)
Then go to kitchen/rom/ATHE100/ *create folder with new build number* copy the OEMXIPKernel and packages.txt from a working ATHE100 folder into there.
(This is the old device specific xip part dumped from original rom)
You should find that you now have the new xip in the dropdown box of the kitchen, however I have found this very hit and miss and am currently struggling with porting 28014 using this method. If you search there are bits of advice about other tools able to dump XIP's that VK is not able to do, but I have not had the time to fully research it.
Let me know how you get on as my kitchen is currently crashing whenever I try and do this.

ok thanks. I'm giving it a try now, I put all the files in the place they're supposed to go however, I forgot what extension to rename BatchRecmod.jpg to (the file you had sent me)
EDIT: if I remember correctly BatchRecmod was a folder that you added the .jpg extension so you could send it to me, however, when I remove the extension I still can't access the contents inside...

A better option than the batchrecmod I sent you would be to search Da_g's thread in dev/hacking for an addition to the kitchen made by user XTEP it adds the recmod function to the extra buttons inside the kitchen.
However if not change the .jpg extension to .zip and then unzip and you should have the files you need

thank you very much, I think I found the addition by xtep in da_g's thread but I don't see how to add it to the kitchen...so I used the the files from the zip you sent me....I tried to cook and everything seemed as if it was going just fine, then bam! kitchen crashed. I'm going to try and get a working xip.bin to and see if the kitchen can extract it because using the msxipkernel does not seem to be a stable method.

I have been struggling with this as well, I have not managed to find a portable xip.bin for 28014 as of yet. If you find one let me know please.

Could someone please upload audiopara3.cvs from non-EU ROM?

I bought my Mega a few days ago and since I had a Trinity with Australian ROM before I didn't think about the EU volume limit and flashed my new Mega with WWE Europe - 1.28.401.4 which of course has that annoying volume limit crap in it.
Sure I could get rid of it by re-flashing my phone to WWE Asia - 1.28.707.3 but then I would have to reinstall all my programs and redo all the settings and changes I already made so I would rather like to remove that limit without reflashing to a different ROM.
From what I read I think I would only need the following files from a non-EU ROM to to this:
AudioFilterTable.csv
AudioPara.csv
AudioPara3.csv
AudioPara3_Iolite.csv
AudioPreProcessTable.csv
which are all located in the Windows folder on the device.
So please could maybe sb upload those 5 files from a non-EU ROM so that I could use them to remove that volume limit from my phone without reflashing it completely?
Thanks a lot!

Interesting idea - hope it works. Please reply if the attached files help
These files are taken from a WWE ROM called RUU_Mega_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.28.707.3_Radio_Signed_61.41t.25.31_3.48.25.27_Ship. I extracted them using osKitchen.
Make sure to copy with for example Total Commander or maybe ActiveSync, so that you can overwrite files in that windows directory.
thx a lot for uploading the files
It didn't let me replace them with ActiveSync but then I just copied them to a temp dir with ActiveSync and used Resco Explorer to replace them directly on the phone.
Unfortunately it didn't work, I replaced the files restarted the phone but that annoying volume limit is still there
I guess I have to start over and re-flash my phone with WWE Asia - 1.28.707.3 now.
Well at least I learned sthg from this - never ever flash an European ROM again
Thanks a lot for your help anyway!
