OMG what did i do?? - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

ok, so i have never done a rom update before... i wanted to use no2chems rom. so i did the unlock thing from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=1538775
then flashed the rom. everything was cool... so i unplugged it from my computer, took the battery out, did the thing where you hold both soft keys and the power button then turned the phone on and it get all the way to the home screen and reboots it self. it will do this forever if i let it. but if its plugged into the computer through usb it doesnt do it. but as soon as i unplug the usb cable about 5-10 secs later it reboots on its own.
so i used the relocker and flashed back to the original rom using the exe from htc website. worked great again(well as great as can be expected)
but i reallly wanted the new rom so i tried again... same thing happened.
any suggestions?

From what I know this rebooting loop has to do with flashing using the wrong bootloader. You need to read the instrux carefully and pay close attention to what bootloader is required. Check out Geckotek's instrux as well as some others that are pretty close to foolproof (hmm).

Sounds like you did not install the radio rom first.

I'd go back to stock rom and do as Serf recommended (follow instructions on that thread closely).

STUCK in BOOTLOADER screen

I had a problem with the power button not working and I was adviced to reflash the original ROM (I never did a ROM upgrade) so I picked the original and latest Cingular ROM. Flashing strated and then hung for a while @ 80% progress, few minutes after continued up to 95% progress and at that point I got ERROR 326 message (INVALID COMMAND) stating that the NBF file couldn´t be used for this phone. I dissconnected the phone and did a soft reset and what I got was the BOOTLOAD SCREEN and since then I can not make the phone exit from it. Later I tried flashing RUU_RIsidoro_2.26.10.2_WWE+CF2SP1_G4, this time it went all the way to 100% progress and the congratulations screen, I made a soft reset (the only way I know to exit the bootload mode) and I got momentarly the HTC innovation screen and right away dissapeared to enter in bootload screen again.
Then I reflash ROM with RUU_Qtek_9100_AKU2_21878_024711_ESN_G4, this time it went all the way up to 100% and success screen appeared, the phone rebooted and is up and running although with inoperant power button.
Since you've successfully reflashed your phone and the power button isn't still working have you considered a hardware fault?
Look for some info/pics on how to disassemble your wizard to verify if the button is well soldered to the board

Luiggi, pls tell me how to flash the phone while in the bootloader screen?!?
There's no secret to flash while in bootloader screen. Use the RUU file. It might take a little while longer to detect the phone but goes all the way to the end
Yes, it has to be a hardware issue

I´ll try the disassembly and perhaps is not a big deal to fix it, I got a copy of the service manual posted in some of the forums, and I´ll give it a try.
Thanks for the advice!
You just do it!

Try first a soft reset while in the BL screen, if doesn´t react then do what I did:
I just plugged the USB cable and run the RUU!! As simple as that and as risky as the ROM you select not being the right one.

[Q] (probably) big problem with hero

Hi guys!
i just wanted to ask you a question: yesterday i tried to install the floyo rom but i guess something went wrong..after installing the rom via rom manager during the first boot the phone got stuck loading the new rom..it keeps showing "floyo" on the screen but nothing happens...it just keeps loading and loading and loading....is there any way i can boot the phone using the factory presets or something?
thx a lot
HI,
You're not in the right forum section to ask this, but anyway.
That problem could occur time to time, in fact, I had it several times. But don't need to worry, if you're phone is still booting, that's not a big problem then.
What you can do is reflash the rom like you did the first time.
But first, May I suggest you to check if you're phone is actually stock by using logcat ? Because the first boot can be quite long (in my case, it takes around 10~12 min). To do so, use your usb cable, go to command prompt and type
adb logcat
if there are things on the screen, and if that screen is moving, then just be patient...

OK. Open the back of your phone, remove the battery.
Replace the battery and you can try to boot your phone again.
Or you can directly boot into recovery. From this place you have choice to rewipe everything and reflash the rom. Or you can just load your nandroid backup; I assume you made one, did you?
boot your phone with the home button pressed(so press the home key, press hang up(so he will start) and after 10 seconds or so you're in the recovery menu
As above really..
Remove battery, then turn back on holding power and the home button.
This should bring you to the recovery ROM, in their, you can wipe your phone clean, and re flash a new ROM.
If you want to put a new ROM on your SD, you can mount the SD Via USB from the Recovery Menu, or just remove the SD and put in a card reader.
Then wipe/flash new ROM.
From your first post im guessing you tried to install Floyo? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=784689&page=146 ?

[Q] [HELP]Completely bricked vibrant. wont even turn on. plz help

ok so i know how to do things on my vibrant but dont really know exactly how the phone does things (basically im a directions follower) so im going to try to be as precise as possible
my phone has been rooted for a while and ive been experimenting with a bunch of roms. i decided to flash TWs nero v3 w/voodoo and i was pretty sure id stick with that for a while but some of my games started having issues so i decided to flash the newest axura. now something told me that i needed to disable voodoo first and there is usually a voodoo submenu in CW recovery but there wasnt so i figured it was disabled already
so i flashed it and everything was going well untill my screen went blank
now my phone acts like there is no battery in it
ive tried any button combinations with charger in (wall or computer) or out.
no matter what my screen stays blank...plz help
im not exactly in a situation to just buy a new phone.
Unplug the phone from the charger. take your battery out for at least 15 seconds. plug the phone to your computer via usb. while holding both vol+/-, not power, put the battery back in. you should be in download mode.
use odin to flash a stock rom.
this all should work if you have the samsung drivers installed on your comp.
Go to this link it should help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848737&highlight=bricked+phone
btw i followed what both above said and neither worked for me =/
thanx for ur suggestions though
Ive seen alot of these post lately and all were on nerov3 .
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Well I guess that your best bet would be modifying the usb charger with resistors. as stated in the link that jewbrad suggested. A similar thing happened to my phone when I tried to go back to stock from nero, but instead of a blank screen, I got a small icon of a pc and phone with a triangle in between. The method that I posted did the trick. Maybe you should try it again and check odin to see if it recognizes your device, even if the phone might look like its off.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Have you tried having odin open on you pc and loaded with eugene's froyo that doesnt brick then with your phone turned off(pull the battery then put it back in) now hold the volume keys up and down at the same time then plug your usb cord that is plugged into your pc into your phone this should get you into downlod mode. If this workes flash it and let odin do its thing after its done running it will reboot and go to a recovery screen then it will try to boot up ounce you see the i9000 screen you can pull the battery again and get it back into download mode the same way you did before and then flash the stock vibrant rom tar file and pit. I dont know if this will work but it cant hurt I know how it is not having your phone working so hope this helps
Same thing happend to me.
Please let me know if you get it fixed.
I was on Nero V3 trying to reflash because GPS didn't work well.
i got in to boot loop so i tried to get back to stock and re-do it,
and this happened.
I took it tmobile and claimed the ota broke it..they sent me a new one
NVM!! link posted by jewbrad had No-Boot phone instruction, and it worked!!!
Oh lucky...I tried that n it failed

[Q] Ace won't power on, screen flashes on and off

I was following the phone unlocking guide in a sub-forum got my unlock code, powered off, inserted a different sim, powered on. I didn't get a request for a code; phone started up fine except no network access. I got a message a short while after something like android.phone stopped working.
Turned the phone off, put original sim back in and turned the phone on. All the phone will do is flicker the backlight every couple of seconds. 3-button recovery will take me to "Downloading..." and sit there. Flashing to Gingerbread using Odin will get to the RESET and phone will power off and phone will sit there screen flashing as before.
Anything I can do to resolve this?

Hey!
Firstly: For me worked(not in unlock, but in some other cases, where other soft fails) the STOCK ..XXKC1. Try to flash it. Dose you put you phone in to "Download" mode for Odin?
Where you get that UNLOCK? From here?
These are the questions, what I want answers. Maybe after that I can say surely.
TIA!

I was following the guide [TUTORIAL]How to Network Unlock Samsung Galaxy Ace Via ADB. Phone didn't ask for unlock code when I put a Vodafone sim in my o2-locked Ace. Shortly after putting the Vodafone sim in it said something like Android.phone force closed.
I can flash any firmware but so far the phone will not boot. The screen will just flash after flashing firmware and I can put it in Downloading recovery but nothing else happens so far.
Could it be something to do with the phone storage being screwed up? I followed the tutorial word for word and got my code and everything.

Hi mate. Thanks for dropping in. I cannot enter recovery; the phone just does what happens in the OP - it just flashes. I can only enter 3-button recovery. So far I've tried 5 different firmware 2 Froyo (inc stock) and 3 different Gingerbreads found droidangel.blogspot.com/2011/05/samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830-original-stock.html. Will try a custom firmware but otherwise will try and take the phone back to o2 tomorrow.

Hey!
Dont take it back to SERVICE, before you not get flashed back to STOCK firmware or they can MAYBE, see that you not in stock firmware. Just saying it, that you DONT get in to trouble, with warranty.
CHEERS!
Yeah too it into o2 this morning. Luckily the dipshits that work there don't know anything. He just plugged it into his laptop and ran Kies. It's being sent off though. Hopefully will be sorted in warranty for free
Hello,
To solve this problem, did you activate the warranty?
I have the same problem, none of the existing ROM work, or find another solution?
I appreciate the help,
mscofield07
Yeah; I sent it back for warranty. They replaced the main PCB.
Can we unlock locked SGA? ?
XDA Rocks!

Hey, i tried to install android on my HD2 several times and failed, but then i noticed i had wrong version of hspl so i couldn't start MAGLRD (i had 3.03 i think i should've had 2.08 right?) Anyway i then tried to remove the HSPL by formatting my sd card and putting the file from original rom (i don't remember the name) and renaming it to LEOIMG, it started installing the rom i went to another room, when i came back it had finished and was on the red/blue/green screen and it said update failed and i had to retry, but now none of the exes work like rom updates or task29 nothing. when i turn on the phone it says "Not allow" and then goes to the red/blue/green screen. Please help me, I'm freaking out is there any way to fix it? Is there even a way to access SD card when the phone does this?
TomaToz, use the computer to flash via USB cable.
I can't, none of the rom updates or ANYTHING works since this, they all give errors
go to the magLDR page and look for how to remove it.
then start from scratch
There's no info how to remove it but even if there was how would i? None of the exes work and i can't turn the phone on, also i dont think MAGLRD got installed cause i had HSPL 3.03 instead of 2.08
Come on isn't htere anyone who ca help me? :|
are you sure you haven't bricked your phone?
because it just seems you did :/
I don't think you read the bold "You need HardSPL 2.08 before installation!" just above the history?
anyway, can you not flash a radio via USB as well?
also, if you post the error messages you get maybe we can help you more.
you can also check here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10275463
What does bricked mean? :9
and no i can not flash radio or anything else, i'll edit this message with a picture of what the error message looks like
EDIT: WOW, i tried to run the hspl installation and installed hspl 2.08 successfully, not i turned my phone on and its the screen where you choose to start the update for rom. This is the update after which my hd2 said "Update failed" so I'm scared to take any steps, please respond and tell me what to do

HI to all!my phone was working great until i decided to try a new rom so I installed task29 (i had elegancia rom but i wanted to try another rom)and now im stuck on the htc logo screen that says 'stick together' in a red square.....i tried vol down+power button to go into bootloader but nothing happens, then i tried to hard reset but still nothing happens...i pushed the reset button and i did it all over again at least 3 times but still nothing... is there anything else i can try? (even on the hardware?)
my HD2 is a T-MOBILE usa with :
radio 2.08.50.08_2
2.08.HSPL
3.14.531.1 elegancia rom(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=651729)
i love my hd2 and i want it back...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
THANK YOU in advance!!!
sofialoca, task29 is not a thing to be "installed". It's a flash formatting. So you did everything correctly and deleted all from your phone except.. hmmm... stick together.
To flash other rom - just press Volume Down and push reset (under the battery cover) KEEPING VOLUME DOWN PRESSED. Keep it pressed until you are again in bootloader mode. Then connect USB and flash whatever you want.
thank you Andrew!I found the problem...
