I can't seem to get the HTC camera application to store photos and video on the 8gig SD card I have installed.
The HTC album will see whatever images are stored on the card, however, the camera only shows 'Main Memory' and 'Network" as the only options for saving to.
Otherwise, the SD card works fine.
I am using K's Rom v1.31
Any thoughts on how to allow images/video to be saved the the sd card?

I had that same issue, HR fixed mines. I think it was registry related but I didn't want to mess with it.

I posted on this oooooh maybe two years ago and then again just a few days ago. The camera can only save to one of two locations, so if you have view network folder enabled you get main and network as a choice. Disable network view and you can choose Main or storage card.

Hi, I am new to the Droid. Came from a BB 9700. I am curious as to the difference between the 3 storage options I now have with my Droid.
1. Device
2. USB
3. SD
I basically understand 1 and 3...What the heck is 2? I have stuff there, and I don't know how or what...
Now to the actual question I have. What folders/files do I leave on my Device and what can I put on my SD card? Basically, right now, I put Music, Pictures, Ringtones and Documents on my SD card. I have a ton of other stuff on the Device and was just wondering what, if any I can move and/or delete?
I'm attaching a pic of my device folder for reference. By the way, it says I have a folder that says "External SD" but there is nothing in it...

external_sd is where your SD card gets mounted. USB is the GS2 built in storage. As for where you put stuff, that's mostly up to you.

Roger That...I didn't know what was safe to move and what wasn't.. Like do apps use that stuff and if its on the SD card, will it find it?..
Not really sure about that, as i've never needed it. Internal storage seems much faster even than my class 10 sd card anyway, so i just use external for stuff like music, images, etc... basically storage.
Roger That!
Thanks!
Hey! Is there any way to set the default storage to my external SD card? I have my ext SD set to default storage location in the Camera app, so all my captured images and videos are saved on my ext SD; However, if I save an image from Chrome/Kik/Messenger/ect, it saves it on the internal SD. I recently got a new 32GB Ultra Sandisk card and would like all my apps to save all the images/downloads to my ext SD rather than my internal one, like the Camera application. Thanks in advanced.
You either need to modify the kernel to switch them, or use a script the unmounts the internal and external, then remounts them under the opposite locations.

If I did it right, my Kernel and ROM information is above. Since I am not having any other problems except this one, it would probably be best to use a script instead of a new Kernel, right? I can't find anything on Google except for complete Internal & External SD swaps, which is not what I'm looking for. Could I use TWRP to mount and remount the locations? If so, how?
You can use the swap script or I installed a new Rom (jellybean 14) which uses your external memory as internal memory. When you plug ur phone into your computer the storage location will look swapped.

Starting a few days ago, the Camera app on the Note 2 seems to work fine. However, when you take a picture, it shows as a black box with a broken image icon in the middle in gallery. (see picture below)
I haven't been able to take pictures and send them off lately due to this bug.
Any suggestions?

Maybe try wiping data for gallery and camera and see if it fixes it. Wiping either of those WILL NOT WIPE YOUR PICTURES, so dont worry.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn't fix it. New pictures are still showing as broken in Gallery.
EDIT: It appears this is caused when I put the photos on my External SD Card rather than phone storage. Is there any way to fix without wiping the SD card?
EDIT2: I reformatted the external SD card. All is working again.

Glad you got it figured out.
I've had a couple of goes at this but I think I should probably start a separate thread.
I'm struggling to get my head round this.
Courtesy of a wise man on another thread - "You set it up for Adoptable Storage I assume? Adopted Storage uses the SD card as the actual internal storage for the device, so it will not show up in a file manager - it is not a separate device any longer."
Moto Z = 32GB - SD Card 64GB
And of course he was correct - I did - even if I didn't quite know I had, or why/how

I still don't understand what these two screen grabs tell me. On File Manager I can't see what's in there, and on the other (in settings) it's there, and it's got stuff on it.
I lost what was on the SD card to have Adoptable Storage, I'd lose it again to swap back, but should I - which is better?
Is there a better file manager than the Moto one that came on the phone, that would show me more?
Thanks for any help.....
Adoptable storage formats your sd card once you have opted to use it. From memory, if you reverse back to internal and external storage, apps are moved back to internal and sd card will be wiped. Even if you use Adoptable storage your internal and external memory is shown as per your screen shots.
I tried it when I had a 16gb moto x play. I found it not a great success and you had to move most apps onto sd card so wasn't as seamless as I was expecting. Matter of fact found it a waste of time and never tried it again.
My phone is Asus Zenfone Live L2 Bought less than 2 months ago. My microSD card is VGen 32 GB 9 months old. All preinstalled app can perform write action to microSD card like move, copy, paste, extract and download without problem. But any app that I personally install always result in corrupt or 0 sized files. Already checked all those apps for SD card access and storage permission. Phone is currently rooted but issue existed since before. Already looked solution on Google but no working fix.
@arjuna17jax
To install apps on external SD-card requires this card is set up as internal Android storage.

I didn't mean to install app to SD card. But to write files using third party file manager, archive manager, picture manager and media player.
