removing applications

I just upgraded to special ROM v1.2. I like it very much and would like to thanks all the guys made this possible.
My problem is that i don't want some of the applications given with the above mentioned ROM v1.2.
Is it possible to delete what i don't like, especially the little icons on the "today screen"?
Or i should use the original O2 UK ROM and then add the applications i like?
in the "remove programs" utility i don't see any of the application installed, is it because they are "inside" the ROM?
Thanks in advance
Yes they are in rom, if you go to the rom kitchen you can choose which programs you want included in your rom.
http://cuba.calyx.nl/~jsummers/ROMkitchen/
I see, but if i don't have a unix machine how can i make my own rom? is there a kitchen to cook roms under win?
dNuOs
If you followed the link you will see that you can choose your base rom and then tick any of the other programs that you want to include in it, within memory constraints, you then go to the base of the screen and click to cook the rom, once cooked you can download it and then burn it into your xda via exe method or sd method, the kitchen runs on unix but you dont need unix to use the cooked roms as you will know having used the 1.2 special edition rom. I hope this helps.

[Q] Which Custom ROMs have Remotetracker build in?

I have read about Remotetracker.
I also read it would be possible to cook it into a ROM.
I have coocked a rom allready (on touch HD), surprisingly simple, but not so simple to immediately try... [and the testing afterwards]
If ROMS are around with Remotetracker build in, please could you tell me which?
I already searched the ROM Development forum, but a search for Remotetracker gives me a lot of thrads, but in (at least the first ones returned) i found no reference to Remotetracker.
The only one would be Chucky ROM (with kitchen) which mentiones it as an "addon" (does this mean you will have to (re)cook the rom to get it in?
In the meantime I will continue my investigation .....
Thanx in advance
none that i'm aware of, because there wouldn't be much point cooking it into a mass release rom, because the settings would only be stored on the sd card, so the thief removes or wipes the card and remotetracker wouldn't work.
if you want it hardreset and sd card missing safe, then you need to cook it in yourself, after preparing your custom settings. (there is a tool on the creators site to generate a reg file of your personal settings to add to your kitchen when you cook.)
Thanks, I hoped there would be roms with remotetracker build in, but apparently not (done some more searching).
This brings up another question:
Is there a guide on how to cook your own ROM?
I just found one, dated from April and cleared as obsolete.
I looked for kitchen and cooking rom, but cannot find the nessesary information.
Personally I like energy roms, but I cannot find the kitchen used....
It has been a while, so it is not so clear anymore how to cook.
It would be nice if there is a guide/tutorial/manual for cooking your own ROMs.

[Q] I have some questions for developing rom..

1. Is it possible making program or something boot loader(?) to show the dialog to check custom Rom between A Rom and B Rom and after that we can load Rom which is running this time...?
- I heard about that there is a something to support this function..
- But what I wanna ask , Do you guys think about three people who are going to University can make this program within 3months.
2. Is there a limit to modify text, Icon size , change color, etc..?
- Any kind of limit to make a Rom..
3. <<Important thing >> what the differences are between making Rom using auto make Rom program like Custom Rom Creator Sutdio and the other way just changing source..?
- I think second way is really difficult but first one is that there aren't not many choices to make our Rom , also I don't think optimizing performance is possible.
- So what I wanna know, how do most of developer make the MIUI or CM7 something like any personal or group Custom Rom?
PS. And I wanna make dual boot loader or Custom Rom for old people..
So I'm asking zoom -in , out something like that ~
Probably better posting this in the Andorid Dev thread

[Q]Are developers creating Custom Rom by using creator like custom Rom creator?

Easy way to make my Cubot Zorro support Cynanogen Mod

Hello, my stock OS and other software on my phone is S**T, together with my phone, it lags a lot etc.... I was wondering if there's a easy way to make my phone support CM, or it would also be nice if u know a way to change my os or firmware or smth like that so it's a bit less lagggggyyy... I don't even know what I'm talking about, it has a freaking Snapdragon 410...
Easy way? Not sure about that. But if there's no current development for your device, here's a good place to start to find a guide on porting, and learn yourself. :good:

Good luck!
