Okay I give up on dropped data connections with 3.27 radio but really really want all the fixed things in wm6.1.. I like the SMS (can live without it tho) and the newer MMS that allows you to add recipient... I'm sure there are other things too but those pop out as the most significant....
anyways... Is there any dcd rom I can use that has wm6.1 that will work with a radio version less than 3.27? And if so, which radio? I have only tried 1.40 with good luck but I see there are others out there... Any versions links and words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated so I can stop flashing the hell out of my titan and start using it as a phone instead of a science project
oh ya... need verizon roms too ...
k thnx bye
dcd has said he will be releasing a 2.17 based ROM with 6.1 in it. It will be version 1.7.0 from what I hear. Coming very soon, just working out some small issues.
awesome! thanks very much.. will keep my eyes glued to forums looking for it...

yea its on his forum i think
I found this site http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/news/news.phtml/13612/14636/windows-mobile-61-coming-april.phtml
It states that Windows Mobile 6 will officially be released. I know we have had WM6.1 for a while, but maybe when it comes out we can make a kitchen for it ( if it is a New and Much improved) This possibly can fix the bugs that we encountered. And since it is officially released, any bugs found can be reported to microsoft for (service and repair) type of incidents.
Maybe?
yeah engadget reaffirmed this in a post yesterday. but afaik, the version of WM 6.1 that we have now in DCDs rom and others is the official version. I dont think that the retail 6.1 will be any different
It is likely that they have made a diffrent build by now. I have seen screen shots of phones such as the xperia and others with newer builds.
If this is true then maybe new features are introduced (such as the deepfish browser), or even some fixes for bugs that we have already.
i thought that deepfish had been scrapped. ms didnt want to spend the money in server resources. xperia is on 6.1 no doubt, but i didnt know about the version number. i dont know. for sure there might be a few tweaks.
just outta curiosity, i know the stock roms use windows update. would cooking that into a rom not work for reg updates? i mean would MS see it as a non-legit version of windows?

Even if we don't get deepfish which I hope we do, I'm sure that they might have improved on some PIE issues.
But about MS updates that is another good reason to have an officially released copy. (our versions don't have it -- well mine doesn't)That way we wont have to fear of getting any updates through MS or even to call them or email them for support. It will all be legit.
no2chem has the latest build in his rom.
dcd's build in 3.0.1 is rtm. there is another build out there i know of, whether it is the same build as the "official release" i'm not sure, have to look it up. either way, i'm sure dcd knows and is working on another kitchen with the latest build.
i hope so, i havnt flashed my phone in 4 days, im getting trigger happy
I you look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379769&page=2 DCD said he is running 19202.1.0.0 build. His latest Kitchen uses Build 19199.1.0.0. He didn't mention any changes in builds though. Perhaps he will release a new ROM and kitchen off the build he's using.

Do you think the 6.1 update from M$ will be available through the Windows Update feature? I have never gotten any updates through that as of yet.
Or are we going to have to wait for Veriz on to approve it for another 6 months....

From what I understand of the WU update application, it can't push an entire firmware. Just individual files in the event of a major problem, like a security issue. Even though the feature is there, they have never pushed any updates to it.
every time i see a website regarding the official wm6.1 the screen shots the provided are completely different than the version of 6.1 i am running (dcd's 3.0.1 wm6.1 build 19199.1.0.0) including the link provide in post #1. today screen is different and the start menu is at the bottom as a soft key. anyone else notice this?

WM 6.1 coming to Mogul?
I know that HTC and Sprint posted the new ROM on March 10, anyone knows if they are going to offer an official upgrade on the Mogul?

Knowing HTC and their history with upgrades I wouldn't bet on it. Personally I suspect that the most recent upgrade we got will be the last official one. If I had to guess, I'd say HTC will announce some kind of new phone for Sprint this year.

UPDATE
Microsoft Officially will release WM6.1 on the SPRINT MOGUL
according to Engadgetmobile http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/04/01/microsoft-announces-windows-mobile-6-1-device-upgrades/
So this might mean we can supply the TITAN community with the official GPS / Rev. A ROM & an official WM6.1 ROM ( with possible bug fixes)
Also MANILLA gets official on WM6.1
Check out : http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/03/28/htcs-manilla-gets-screenshotted/
We might also be able to integrate this.
Can anybody direct me to a change log or revision history for the different Titan radio versions? Or if anybody knows the differences from 3.35 - 3.39?
I'd be most appreciative.
thanks
your best bet is checking the wiki here and reading the individual threads. you do bring up a good point because that wiki page needs more data.
any idea what benefit I would get from upgrading my radio to 3.39 from 3.35? Would it stop GPS from locking up periodically?

Unfortunately none are sure and I've only heard a few personal anectdotes. Beyond knowing the 3.35.10 and later radios being for the GPS ROMs (exclude the leaked 3.27 build) and all previous 1.xx-2.xx for earlier ROM builds nothing is known for certain.
gcincotta, has a stickied thread at the top of the forum covering that while the Wiki has links to the radio revisions as well.
HTC and the carriers don't release their change logs...
thanks for the info. I might as well leave the radio for now.
I'm going to copy 2 posts I made in the stickied thread regarding the new radios as many people probably don't read it.
When Sprint/HTC released their update activating GPS/RevA they also released radio 3.35.04. With their recent update, they have released radio 3.39.10. New firmware is new firmware. I'm sure Sprint/HTC wouldn't have bothered to release a new radio if there wasn't SOME improvement. Radio 3.37.20 was released from Alltel/HTC with their update activating GPS/RevA. My question to you is, if you're an engineer writing radio firmware, would you bother to sit down and write new firmware just for the sake of it? Or would you write new firmware if you have additions/updates to make to the old firmware? I'm an engineer myself and I write firmware for a living, and I would choose the latter. If people don't want to use the new radio they don't have to, but I'm personally recommending it due to pure common sense.

This isn't a beta radio. In fact, I'd argue that 3.27 wasn't a beta radio. In the development life cycle, beta is referred to the stage before FIRST release of a product. There have been numerous CDMA radio roms. The problem with 3.27 was that it was very buggy and unstable due to the fact that it was the first radio to include GPS and RevA support. They updated and fixed these issues in 3.35.04. Like I said in my previous post, this is firmware not software. There are no new "features" to have potential problems. A firmware update is like any firmware update, it builds on top of the previous firmware build to FIX problems and roll out updates. Sprint/HTC engineers wouldn't update the radio if there weren't significant fixes to be made that would make your device perform better. They don't make money selling radio roms, nor do they want to waste their time coding for no reason. Trust me, as I said, I do it for a living. If your linksys router, your blu-ray disc player, or even your motherboard bios had a firmware update, you would do it because it's going to make your product perform better and fix previous problems. Same goes for this. Yes it is a pre-release, but it's just that. Sprint may include this same radio with their official release, or they may include a newer build with more updates/fixes, but either way, this radio is better than 3.37.20 and 3.35.04.

Since those two posts, it is CONFIRMED that 3.39.10 is in fact a better radio AND it locks satellites MUCH more fast than 3.35.04.
Hopefully that cleared it up a bit.

dude, you're the man. I'll be on the 3.39 shortly.
Okay...so I've ordered my non-HC microSD card to flash this bad boy w/o losing my current setup. I hope it works.
my 3.39 won't lock at all i am using BAF GPS Toggle...do i need something else?
Does any one know if any one in the Titan threads (xda or ppcgeeks) will be creating a New Rom based on the leaked Diamond ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394985
The Kaiser community has managed to create one already.
dcd has been talking in the Diamond ROM threads so I would imagine that he will be doing one.
Has any one extracted the components from the ROM?
I was thinking of doing a Diamond Theme, but I would rather save some time if some one already extracted the components.

VetVito over at PPCGeeks has ported over a Diamond ROM and is testing some OEMs now according to his latest post.
would the titan be able to run that well though? I doubt it would be worth it.
Its not the the actuall full rom...just the updated build and such...not the 3d interface...we have no drivers
there are some cool OEM apps in the diamond
it also has aku 1.1 SYS
its very buggy. my standard ROM will not be getting this OS.
I will be updating parts of OEM from it.
since its a test build and clearly buggy, i am not going to mess with bringing over any drivers.

yes, but i wanted to ask, since i checked out the OEM ROM Pack from the diamond i was able to find out it did contain alot of updated drivers for some of the same hardware the titan had, specifically the WIFI module, i was going to update it myself, but didn't think it would be worth it if ur going to do it on a later build of your own rom MR. DCD. And hey there were even tons of hardware accelerator drivers that may actually work for the titan. wonder if you were able to port em over? probably not since a lot of these drivers are also created for what they were intended for, and that clearly isent the titan.
Regardless i cant wait to see what you have in stock for us with a Diamond based ROM for our titans, for the time being befor i get myself the HTC Raphael.
Its to bad the xperia is only GSM and not CDMA, That really looks like a nice phone, but the Raphael well be nicer maybe...
i already tried making my own cabs for alot of what the diamond offers to put on my titan, but alot of them require massive changes because of QVGA... so nothing really kicked off. and im not talking just picture re-sizing, there was alot of XML changing and .dll modifying (which im not capable of) so i don't even think well be seeing a fully fledged diamond clone rom for our titans any time soon, ESPECIALLY SINCE WERE STILL WAITING FOR THOES DAMN HARDWARE ACCELERATION DRIVERS... UGH... Did they think since its QVGA, that its just not even worth it? well they better be coming with em soon, cause I'm getting ridiculously impatient.

i didnt look at the wifi driver really..
i played a little bit with drivers last night (i have the cdma diamond rom, not sure if its leaked anywhere yet?) but it seemed that anything of interest has a dependency down the chain that is incompatible. i may give it another try but when i found that, i scrapped that project for other things.
right now i am trying to package/play with the OEM stuff. some of it will make it over.
Cool, but I don't mean to crush hopes, just thought you should know:
The Diamond has 192MB or RAM or 3 times what the titan has and 1.5x what were begging for (128...) we're going to run into big problems. Though the idea of OEM would be cool.
Also on the subject of ROMs the P6500 now has a forum and it's got a rom from it. The 6500 is rumored to have good drivers so that could be cool.
Unfortunately the Raphael will be GSM if the recent engadget news is correct which pus the thing on T-Mobile.

really, that's cool! 5 rows of a hardware keyboard. Hopefully VzW will open up by then.
I have searched the forum, but I found some people saying I can do that. Some said the FUZE has different hardware and cannot be flashed into HTC official firmware. Which is the correct answer?
If I really can, what else should I beware of? Any thing will not work after the flash?
Thanks.
Yes you can...
For starters your keyboard mapping will be wrong, but that is easily fixed by any number of CABs you can find in the forum. You also won't have any of the AT&T special apps.
I guess the real question is "why"?
If you're going to go through the effort of flashing, it makes much more sense to flash in one of the cooked ROMs that offer more features.

I agree with Rob - Why would you want to? Unless say you are modding it to include the front facing camera and want the rom to be able to take advantage of that. Other wise you will have to jump through hoops just to get it to work.

Because the original HTC rom is thoroughly tested and, HTC did make it since they made the hardware i believe they know the best software for it as well.
No offense to the cooks and all but I have not come across a faster, smoother, bug-free rom than the "Asia Build 20764" released on march 16th.
Even though I like the cool look aof the custom roms thereis no competing with the performance of the original HTC roms.
I agree with Stalix. I personally just prefer the official HTC firmware. Apparently, HTC know their hardware and have working with their software in this field for long, they should have a more stable firmware. And I personally hate to see at&t logos in my phone.(does FUZE have those logos?)
Same idea when I install my PC, I would install Microsoft official version not those modded version. They may have bug or viruses due to their experience of modding.
So on the forum what kid of key word means it's official HTC firmware? I have seen hundreds of firmware here.

They also do not turn on certain features. Take a look at all the power management features you can turn on with Advance Config. They skip out on a lot stuff so then they do not have to support it. If you have more things to support then you need a bigger support staff which is more money out the door for them...A ROM (like mine) based on an official release can be much more faster, stable and more enjoyable than a OEM ROM. Look at the TytN II...it can use the YouTube app fine but why do they not include it...

How can I revert cooked ROMs back to OEM HTC ROM?
thanks
I have done the flash!
Yeah I have done the flash to my fuze and the UK rom is the best way to go. I love the boot screen saying Touch Pro! You will definitely need the keyboard fix as stated earlier. You will need to find a UK serial so you can grab the rom. There is one in the xda archive. Also, get a calculator cab because the stock one is not always the best. They are also on here. When flashing the HTC rom it will take a couple of more minutes than the others. Mine was stuck on 11% for a 2 minutes. But it will complete beautifully. So also It is very stable. Let me know how you like it.

Yea but you have to also realize that all "cooked ROMs" are based off an official build in the first place.
Take a look at the ROMs available now for the KAISER; they are much better and much improved as developers are able to port updated applications to older devices, improving their performance, and functionality.
If HTC Software was so great, developers wouldnt be looking at other 3D drivers from devices such as the Omnia or the ATI 3D drivers, to improve their devices.
EDIT: To answer the original thread makers question, yes you can flash an HTC ROM to your Fuze provided you have HARDSPL'd your device first. The only thing you would need to change is the keyboard mapping which can be done by a .CAB

This. HTC might "know thier hardware" but that's exactly why you take their official ROM and modify it. Then I have my Fuze settings without running keyboard customization, better apps and tools that aren't in the official ROM, and tweaks to make it even faster. Best of both worlds.
i dont deal with cook Roms anymore, I got out of that business since the MDA Wizard.
Since then I have owned the Treo 750, ATT 8525, HTC TYNT II, and now the FUZE (touch Pro) and I have sticked to official release ROMS.
Its a personal choice really. I have had great experiences with Official Roms and I can do all the tweaks and add all the cabs my self.
So sad to see this Fuze forum flooded with so many cook ROMS. Everybody wants to be a Chef these days. I just feel bad for all the new bees coming in here and can't even decide which ROM to use

3g settings and link!
First off the rom for official download will be found at the following:
www.htc.com/europe
Then you will need the UK S/N code which is as follows:
HT833K018918
This was in the archive much props to who uploaded it however I will repost it as to the fact it was not easy to find. This will give you the UK rom! I love the video that plays at the beginning! It is great with battery life as well! So then grab your fuze keyboard fix and it is as if it were always a touch pro!!
Cheers and enjoy!

Well it is a ROM DEVELOPMENT forum. Having choices is kinda the point since which ROM to use is personal preference. Personally, since UC works well, I change between them quite a bit.
