hi guys i have just upgraded my radio from 1.05 something to 1.43.00.00 . does radio version effect your hsdpa speeds? because since then i can't get hsdpa speed ut 3g. i'm on t-mobile uk
I'd say downgrade to something a bit lower, then. Common belief is that 1.43 is a Rogers-optimized radio. 1.40 is Cingular-optimized, so you may want to try 1.38.
Oh, and you also didn't say which WM6 ROM you are running. There are a few floating about that have 3G/H issues unrelated to the radio ROM...
i have tried all roms couldn't get hsdpa. i will try 1.38

Ah, OK then... 1.42... 1.43... whatever it takes...
The OP is in "TR" and I've no idea where that is, so who knows which radio he needs anyway... probably not 1.40, 1.42 or 1.43... heh

bahahaha... no not "out" yet... it might find its way to the xda ftp sometime tonight
A few questions:
1. How can you tell what speed you are getting?
2. Can you recommend a tool to test? (I'm on WM5 and could test this for you)
3. I have upgraded to 1.41 from 1.05 also on T-Mobile can anyone say if HDSPA is working for them with this radio version?
Cheers,
Seb
I just extracted the radio 1.47.51.00 from the htc x7501 wm6 rom and packaged it so it only flashes the radio only. Please ensure if you want to use make sure your device is hardspl which you can find here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=315831
I have flashed it twice now and both times without no probs only set back is that after the radio upgrade your device will hard reset and have to set up device again. I am using this radio with the latest dopod wm6 upgrade now.
Thanks to lpsi2000 for his help as well.

I bet your club doesn't do Guinness at £1.50 a pint.
if you haven't CID unlocked already (or if you have) if this has a new radio bootloader, (0108) your CID will be stuck from now on.
then again, it might not, I'll report back in the morning

update
1st post updated with radio 1.45.00.00
I have been using the 1.47.51.00 radio and so far not much difference between them although I think radio 1.45.00.00 has got a better 3g signal and vice versal with radio 1.45.00.00 has got a better gsm signal.
Both radios has got similar battery life in my own opinion and to fairly say that both radios are really good in terms of overall use with the athena

update
update added radio 1.38.00.00 only
Update radio only
Excuse me that he has only to replace the radio(1.45 -> 1.47), for me RUU with mistake 220 that is stopping ...
I dont understand
Question.
Before i go ahead and update (or use midgets hotly anticipated cooked ROM), does this X7501 radio ROM include the Video calling functions, or would that be the main ROM that includes that?

I have been using the x7501 radio rom thats in my sig and tested it with video call and it works, not that I have used it that much.
Cheers D.
I would assume then that the Radio ROM supports it, it may just be that the Main ROM has had those functions removed for the X7501.
I'll give it a go. Hopefully it will stop the problems I get when leaving a 3G area. Every time I do, i get no signal for around 10 seconds while it latches on to the 2G signal.
Of course, it could just be that T-mobile have crappy transmitters in my area.....

your mileage will vary with all radio flashes....
but personally i thought the 2.xx radios acted weird on titan. this one seems fine for me. but i live in a 1X-only area so my results are not comparative to most people.
I've been using 2.13 for several weeks with no issues, so unless someone can confirm RevA (which I doubt), I'm hanging in until a successor to the original 3.27 comes around.

This is from a vogue? Thats very interesting. Its also good news for the vogue users. It implies that the vogue cooks might be able to use our radio rom to make a gps, evdo rev A vogue rom if ,as is rumored, the vogue upgrade is delayed to this summer.
We need a newer and better radio for the Athena. Currently using the 1.57 and it is ok, but my kaiser (which has many choices for radio) always gets a better GSM and Wcdma signal than the Athena.
I believe the 1.57 is a x7510 radio. I wonder when they actually are released, will they ship with a better radio or will more be available once the carriers get them?
The kaiser seems to be able to use radio from several devices. Does anyone know if there are any newer Athena radios in the future?
1.57 is the best now.
Can we put 1.57 in an old X7500 (with currently 1.38) ?

1.57 is the latest you tit.
besides, the Kaiser is an MSM7200 and hence a totally new firmware base, don't compare the two.
Oli, thanks for the put down. Do you ever answer a post without telling the poster he is an ass, tit, wanker or ****wad. Was not comparing the two, just the fact that it has more radios available.
Where and How can I install this? Is it possible that it could cure my BT problem where I get no audio from my x7501 (currently 1.47 radio)
for a discription of the problem see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=384507

at first glance I have 3 bars of service at home when i never get more than 2. So far definately an improvement over .28 and .31
How is the sound volume of this new radio? Thanks.
Wonder if there is alternative download?
Thanks.
the radio rom has nothing to do with the application for fm radio. so it should be independant to its sound volume

Again, sorry for the dump question but I am new to Pockets.
Have update to this Radio now, have to make some calls etc to see if there is any improvments.
Flashed and testing. By now much better 3g reception. At home I only had one bar and now two even three.
Just flashed it, will keep y'all posted on the results...
Lacation
My opinion, the best if tester can provide us their location tested this radio.

Interesting results... for me the reception is the same with Orange here at home, one-two bars with .28 and same with this one... i'll do more tests later out of home with 3G and GPS.

+1 bar more in tha house, will test gps later this day.
Wit the .28 gps lag with TomTom was over but with Igo8 less lag but still a bit
