my gene isn't even starting it goes till the white screen the htc logo comes n then it switches off so i can't access anythin is thr any other way or will i need to give it at the service centre

1st d/load this rom(RUU_Gene_hTC_Asia_India_1.17.720.1_4.1.13.34_02.79.90_Ship ) or any fusion series rom by lomlom...and then upgrade ..when u reach final step of u/grade fr ur pc then
juss hold 'camera' button & reset ur phone with ur stylus ...n it's done....ur phone is now 3400i...
after that ,,
if u still wanna u/grade again then 1st install gene_hspl @ root dir of ur phone..

today i upgraded to a new wm6.1 Rom for HTC P3400 which was posted in gene forum here at XDA Developers , after successful upgrade my phone restarted n got stuck at bootloader.
i hv tried almost every solution avaible at Forum XDA developers, but still same condition.
i hv hard reset it several times, also gave unsuccessful try to Mtty , and gene unbreak.
please someone tell me how to unbreak my device, becuz i hv gone through almost every solution, but nothing working.
ther is solution for newer genes in "Gene Forum" but tht also not workin on my old gene.
and please tell me that can i send it to HTC india, as it is still under warrenty.
i m afraid that they wont repair it as i was using custom wm 6.1 roms
so please somebody help me out. i m really in grt tension....

then only a solution can be derived. Post everything that you can remember aboout your phone as well as what is written on the sticker at the bottom of the packaging box of your phone.
And please dont post full serial no, only the first 3 numbers like HT8xxx or HT7xxx etc.

dear frnd sorry for my mistake....
my phones serial no is starting like HT807XXXXXX
but its not P3400i, its was having WM5 by default
even hving HT8XX serial i was successfully using all the ROMs Including fusion, PDAViet etc etc, ther was no problem
but problem started when i upgraded my phone to WM6.1 Stock ROM

Just flash it with WM6 Original ROM (India) guys, I don't see much improvements in WM6.1, and your SPL is original. Do it in the BootLoader Screen, and flash it via RUU.

hey i tried upgrading to original wm6 but it always shows error at 2%, "Invalid Vendor ID" n my phone gets restart.
Budyy i have said on that page that i had only tested it on my P3400i and its working great till date. HTC has created such a mess with all these 3 versions. I think the mystry is now solved, and Those with the older gene with WM5 ROM but Serial No HT8xx can install the WM6.1 stock (look-a-like) ROM only if ONBL version greater than or equal to 1.10.000.
I'll update the info in WM 6.1 Stock ROM thread too. That ROM is not provided by me, i just copied it and mirrored it from 4PDA.ru so cant tell you much.
@npiyanut: Yeh you are right, but i think instead of flashing WM 6 stock ROM he should flash the Original WM5 ROM as the original WM6 ROM for P3400 doesn't have the OnBL, SPL etc updates. It just has the OS and extROM parts and that i have confirmed by dumping the ROM myself. SO WM5 ROM will solve the problem i guess and then he can continue with any other ROM he had tried successfully in his previous experience. What do you say?

I tried upgrading to stock WM5 Rom given here

Feeling very sad for your Phone.
Can you give me the screen shot where you stuck?
I know u provided all necessary Info ,but pls it may help me out.
Take a snap of your phone screen with another phone and upload it.
I flashed that rom that u have flashed (WM6.1 stock rom mirrored by crazy_about_tech.) and mine also stuck in boot loader,
but immediately just flash back Fusion 9 and my phone alive again.
Please don't blame anyone for anything.
Here, all are together for helping each other and sharing their PDA experiences not making anyone's phone DEAD.

Looks like you need to do a hard-spl again before you flash another ROM.

i hv already given this a try.....but ended up getting error all the time.....
i tried Mtty i dont know how many times but in last the error comes
and one more thing.....tht unbrick solution is for P3400i and newer GENEs (HT 8XX), even my phone's serial no starts frm HT8XXX, although it is old version.....ONPL is 1.07.0.0 ...
while in newer genes it is 1.10.0.0 n more
so this solution wont apply on mine...
BUT Still i gave it a try.......not workin for me...

Oh ,earlier you were using wm 6.1 by PhamQuang ,that's why your splash screen changed but this is not a big issue,Once your phone alive again this can be solved in minutes,
Try this(I don't know you tried it or not)
plug ur phone to PC and reset ur phone keeping the camera and the power button pressed.
If you see the tricolor screen with a Text USB in left bottom corner of your phone, leave the buttons or try again ,Once tricolor screen appears then only you can flash your original Wm5 (24 march 2007.exe) because your SPL is original till now.

Yes sir.....i hv already tried it......
i did the same........enter in bootloader..the tricolor screen....atteched to USB....in phone it was also showing the text USB in left corner..
than i tried to flash original WM5 rom (24 march 2007) ......but alas.....the same problem......error at 2% sayin "Invalid Vendor ID"

Your Splash screen also may made ur phone's warranty void.This is a big problem.let me think for a day.

Finally Gene is alive......thanks to HTC service centre..
Finally i gave my phone to HTC service centre...and...ther made my gene alive once again...
Now m very happy now...!!!
i would like to thank every XDA forum member for helping me out and givin me response.
i mistakenly flashed wm6.1 stock rom which was for HTC P3400i and newer P3400, so my phone got stuck at bootloader.
i tried almost each n every solution avaible here at XDA forum , but nothing helped me out.
as each time it was showing me error in flashing back to original ROM.
finally i gave up and decided to give my phone to HTC service centre since it was under warrenty...
so...now my phone is OK....it has original wm5 once again.,,,
and i will flash to Fusion 9.0 rom tonight.....

how ru all, must be fine,if not u wil be fine.i have been searching for any new good rom for my o2 xda atom. i already upgraded my xda atom from wm5 to wm6 professional (aku .7). so i now i want to upgrade to some new version experts and others, to wm6.1 . PDAVIET is somewat unstable for o2 xda atom sometimes my bootscreen changes it colours or its size changes.so which new rom is better for me.and one more question is this all pdaviet versions are safe as it is not the genuine ones .i donnu exactly abot this versions but i thnk these are just modified version.i dunno i am right or wrong but i dont understand these versions.and i am confused with these lots of roms.i am facing probs in this.so exxxperts please help with this .if u have any easy modding imate jam wm6 please provide the links..thnks in advance freinds.
Hey Friend, Im Abhilash, I just gotta tell ya that I too have an xda atom.
And guess what i bought it as a second hand phone as i am not a rich guy.
And you know what, when i got the atom it had no phone on or off option.
The sim detector was not functional. it trie typing *#06# to see the imei no,
it says wireless radio not installed. so i thought that if i install a wm6 rom update it would work. well GUESS AGAIN it went through all the process and
hung up at burn radio stack and it shows burnin radio stack o% in the pc screen. i dont know what to do. when i put the battery it shows upgrade utility. im stuck.... helllpppMEEEE.
if i use mini sd card, what are the steps? what files must be present in the minisd card? when i insert the card, what button am i supposed to press to boot from the minisd card. im a new guy here i dont know how to post a thread. please give me email ids of u and ur friends pleeeaaaasseeeeeeee.

I have htc p3400 and i tried one time before to install windows mobile 6.0 or 6.1 (Step by Step) with "Krazy" Thread.. it was stuck on (Smart Mobility) black screen but i can go to bootloader by pressing hold on camera with power, then i install something for unstuck or i don't know exactly then it's just stop the phone and when i power on (Red and green led is lighting once) even i tried to hard reset with many times and many ways "NOTHING". i already go to agency and ask them to fix it.. it's already fixed now but i really boring again with WM5.. i want WM 6.0 or later while i ask them but they really said we have only this one as standard and sure there no upgrade for this model.
*(sure what i did is wrong maybe and really i respect Krazy and how he explain all thing) it's great
SO please if u can help me step by step to upgrade my mobile to WM 6.0 or later while i really don't need to go for agency again hehehe.. they will kill me as they will discover what i really did because they don't charge anything as i buy this mobile on last feb.

Read the tutorial again....
and perform each each step carefully as sometime there is no going back.
Also check whether u have a new gene or old one using the date method

I really unlock my phone before and the spl is change to something like (0.07)..as i read in the step by step thread.. but wich rom is best for me.. what's the best for unlock.. cus u know there's many threads here and really i'm confused as each one is preffered his rom and his copy.. so just i need to learn more from trusted friend like you to tell me HOW, WHO and WHICH? ..

The choice of ROM depends on your taste
Some prefer to use clean ROMs which offers more free RAM
on the other hand some prefer ROMs with better GUI and apps which will offer less free RAM.
In my opinion u should go and check all the available ROMs (thanks to ROM cookers) and find what u want, like what applications u need (u use) etc.

my problems story:-

although i have the original rom and lately i had faced some problems with my wm5 -original ROM-
even that i didn't upgrade it since i first bought it ... and here is some problems i have:-

1- my main camera went black "although the vga camera works just fine.. knowing that the device didn't even fall from me not even once" - i swear -

2- my GPRS Internet function all missed up
"even that i thought its from the settings but
i had also repeat the first settings that i did the first time
still ain't working ...
i could see the "gprs" and the "hsdpa" icon on the top
but i cant reach the Internet data with my Internet explorer"

3- my device went slowwww even after a Hardest .... "i donno maybe its had something to do with some internal ram faction i heard about it here inside the xda developer... it says u better flash the rom then a hard rest to delete all the internal ram memory data"
those data that ain't going even after a hard rest like " my cam and the gprs function - i guess i need to upgrade my radio-"

4- my battery is going dooooowwwwwn ... even that i threat it very will i use my htc x7500 until the battery gose 0% the i leave it plug-in with the battery for about 6-7 hours ... "p.s i bought my device for about a year now since 25-1-2009"

iam thinking to upgrade my ROM with this ROM :-
Advantage_HTC_WWE_2.21.405.2_1.50.00.00_Ship.exe
its says that is an original wm6 ROM ....

lets get-in to my questions ...its an easy beginner questions but i need to make sure
"also iam new to this upgrading Roms thing":- lets start ....

1- do i need to unlock my device even that iam upgrading to an original rom? ...

2- its an original ROM .. i don't need to check out my spl or ipl or anything right?
i mean the original Roms don't need a specific spl and ipl with my divce
so as i can upgrade it right?!!

3- does this ROM upgrade my radio and extrom?

4- its doesn't format my microdrive right ?
i mean its has nothing to do with my microdrive right?
my data would still remain after the flashing right? .....

5- a question for those whom upgrade to wm6 .... which one is faster ?
the original wm5 or the original wm6?

6- if u guys could help me by telling me all the problems that faced you

i don't wanna be dis-pointed with my device it cost me 900 $ .... please guys i know u wont let me down ...

i find my answers by my owen experiment :-
i had upgrade my device successfully from original wm5 to original wm6
the answers :-
1- nope u dont need to unlock ur cid if u r using htc x7500 device "not dopod or aemo"

2-nope u dont have to do anything if u ur device is locked...
but if ur device is unlocked be aware that ur spl is 1.2 or less...
if u have 3.5 spl .. then u gatta downgrade to 1.2 .... see this

3- yup its upgrade ur radio from 1.47 "like mine before" to 1.50

4-nope it has nothing to do with formatting "microdrive\SD card"
note:- remove your sim\sd card before flashing

5- wm6 is way faster then wm5 ... and the there is some finger touch improvement... the screen respond to the finger touch better then before..

6- it has fixed my "gprs\hspda" connections...
faster internet connection .... didnt test the GPS yet

BUT MY CAMERA STILL BLANK "BLACK SCREEN" ???!!!! EVEN AFTER THE UPGRADE ???
